Hi guys,
My GPS was working ok on this phone a couple of days ago. As in, it was definately better than my old phone (samsung galaxy s) which had notoriously bad GPS, but still took longer than my dad's galaxy tab 7.7 to get a lock on the GPS.
However, today my GPS suddenly stopped working, it doesn't lock at all even after a few minutes. I tried rebooting the phone many times already, but to no avail. Downloaded gps status from the play store. The phone sees the satallites, but just doesn't connect to them.
Anybody with this issue as well? Or even better, any solutions?
Thanks.
We'll fix that
Download GPS test from Playstore Google thing,
start the prg
hit the menu (bottom middle)
settings
clear agps ( Button top left)
the prgs confirms
update agps ( Button top right)
the prgs confirms
of course for this you need net access
now u should be fine
start the gps test and see how many birds you get.
keep us informed
cheers

Its ok depending on your zone.
I usually cruise around with 6-8. It would suck if you just had around 2 or something like that.
Thanks for your reply.
Followed what you said. The thing is, it sees the birds, but is unable to connect to them, ie. get a fix. Any ideas? Or is my gps hardware buggy. It was working fine yesterday
I see 13 birds btw
My experience with the GPS is quite different. I have no problem getting a fix. When I drive, it works OK but once I stop moving, I will lose heading and the screen starts spinning.
This is what I get from gps test.

I think it has to do with the tegra chipset.
Isn't the gps included in the SoC? The reason why I assume is the tegra chipset is because I was getting a similar behavior when I had my G2x which coincidentally had a tegra SoC.
It would work when it wanted to work. It didn't work all the time though, it was a hit and miss.
So when I got my Sensation I was super happy with the GPS since it connects everytime when I need it and has been consistent. The Sensation on the other hand uses Qualcomm's SoC.
I think if I do get a new phone anytime soon it will be the One X with Krait processor or One S.

Luckily i have 0 issues on my phone.. Try calibrating the compass? Download compass app.
Me too thought it might be the compass that's acting up. any specific compass app I should try? Tried a few.. some worked, some dun.. I am surprised HTC didnt include the their signature compass app in the One X.
I have got the same problem.
My One X is running 1.29.401.7 and is unrooted and unbranded.
According to GPSTest, I have 11 satellites in view, but none in use. In settings/location, all options are ticked. I have used GPSTest to clear and update AGPS.
Any ideas?
---------- Post added at 10:04 AM ---------- Previous post was at 09:49 AM ----------
I have just spoken to HTC, and they say the issue will be corrected in the 1.29.401.11 update which be available in the UK in a few days.
Wow.
I am not sure why some HOX phones have bad GPS. I am super impressed with mine, specially as I do a bit of Geocaching. Sitting on my lounge downstairs, in my two story house, with the blinds closed ( and I have a large tree covered hill to the north ) I get a good lock on at least six satellites in less then 30 seconds. I have owned two previous HTC phones as well as a Garmin GPS and a TomTom navigator, and none of these lock on as quick as this phoen does.
This is when using the app GPS status.
Mine was fine, good lock indoors etc. Now it's gone mental, jumping around all over the place. Tried all the clear data etc, fubar.
GPS practically useless on my HOX. It cannot get a lock indoors on even a single bird.
When using apps like Run Keeper or Endomondo to record a track, the track for a straight line 1 mile walk records as huge zig zag 6 miles long and estimates my speed as walking at 38 mph.
I've done all the GPS Status stuff with no positive results.
My Galaxy Nexus, side by side with the HOX, locks within seconds even indoors, and records a beautiful straight track.
Very disappointing.

get the agps fix... it is amazing. in open field i get a fix in 2sec. (!) with 10-12 sats. accuracy is 1-3m. best gps i ever had.
Agps fix?

I returned my second HOX a week ago because of unusable GPS (First was yellow spots) - New one arrived today (T-mobile out of stock because of so many returns!).
Both the returned and the new one are HT24, both were running 1.28 - yet the one I returned would randomly bounce between a different 3-5 satellites, which meant the heading randomly reversed and location wandered, making Google Nav unusable due to constant re-routes.
The new one worked perfectly with Google Navigation when I went out earlier, though it still seemed to randomly choose which group of 4-5 satellites it locked onto.
My direct comparison suggests that it's a hardware problem, or at the very least a random software conflict.
I just hope its not a design flaw of the Tegra 3 hardware that will reappear and require some stupid external dongle like the Transformer Prime!
I just tested the GPS for navigation today,
It connected INSTANTLY - I mean instantly, 0secs-
Navigation was correct and accurate the whole way,
My one single disappointment was not the GPS, but the navigation speaker volume, very hard to hear in the car, even on full volume.
Sent from my Xoom using Tapatalk 2
Navigation apps are far more forgiving of the flaws in the GPS signal than are GPS tracking apps.
With wifi location services on, your location in a navigation app can be found more quickly than waiting for satellite locks.
In a navigation app a 100 meter bounce in your position for a few seconds won't impact your directions. In a tracking app, it can destroy the validity of your track for measuring performance or distance, especially when it happens with alarming regularity.
Try running a short track with the run keeper app and see if you get a clean track or a schizophrenic one.

At a glance: I have the impression, that current lag fixes are affecting the GPS performance of our loved toy. Let me explain why.
My GPS-History:
quite poor performance on original XXJF3
upgraded to JG1 and was quite happy with it. Far from perfect but usable
then I applied the Ryanzas lag fix and there the problem started. Loss of sat locks all the time and problem to lock to many sats. I did not think, that this might have something to do with the lag fix. It wouldn't make any sense for me.
upgraded lately to new JPC firmware and gps was quite okay. Not only fast fixes but also good accuracy (but far from perfect).
Now I applied again the lag fix and again had the gps problems mentioned above.
So now the question arises if that's just coincidence or could there be any connection.
What can we do about it?
First we have to make sure that this connection actually exists. Please, everyone who experience these problems check if you installed a lag fix. Try to figure out, what the problems are. Loosing locks, inability to create locks? How many sattelites can you connect to? Track your daily route and check accuracy. Now uninstall/disable your lag fix and do the same checks. Please reply what your outcome was.
What if?
Okay, assuming the lag fix is affecting the gps. How could that be? Of course, I can only guess. First of all, it sounds quite strange, that changes on the file system would affect the gps - but... Maybe the gps kernel driver is blocked somehow by the ext2 kernel module? We can test this by applying the first available lag fix (Krycek) where /data is moved to the nand storage. Search for "Galaxy-S Stalling Issue" to find the thread. It doesn't use an ext2 file system, therefore we can check, if it has anything to do with it.
So everybody please check out if this could be the source of our problems.
UPDATE:
Okay, after 34 votes (7/11/6/10) it seems to get clear, that there is no connection between a lag fix and the gps problems in general. This hypothesis has a statistical probability of 93 percent, which kind of proves it. What is actually interesting is that more than 60% of the voters were using lag fixes. Congrats RyanZa! The sad thing is, that about half of the voters have problems with their gps. Hopefully Samsung does something about it soon that finally fix it.
The lagfixes move some files around, they can't affect your gps.
No GPS problems, no lag fix
(accuracy not perfect but close to my real life location and that is good enough for me)
stock JH2
no lag switching between programs, always have GPS CoPilot8 running, Samsung IM, Samsung Social Hub, Fring, 5 account Emails sync, 3 calendar sync, weather sync, 5 contact sync, music player over bluetooth
all running at the same time

You're right man. It doesn't seem to be logical, I know that. I am dealing for about ten years with linux systems and my claim seems to be plain nonsense. However, the fact is that I (for me) can tell a difference. The only reason I can think of is an interference between the ext2 and the gps kernel drivers. Maybe the process priority of the gps driver is much lower than the fs driver so that the ext2 comes always first and "steals" cpu time.
weird that you mention that...
I was using the gps with success, no problems in acquiring sats signal nor navigating. I have JM2 with samset 1.8 with it's own lagfix.
I even kept the phone in an awkward place, behind my honda's handbrake, far from the front shield's air space.
Then last weekend I applied OCLF directly from the market. Everything went so fine, didnt have to remove the battery after the /data move. And it became a lot faster.
Two days ago I had to use the GPS and it didnt see sats for almost 30 mins. No fix *at all*. I gave up trying to use it had to stop to ask for directions.
I never connected the dots until I saw your thread.
Not really sure there are any dots to connect, guibao. It's a known fact that the GPS lives a life of it's own, and that it often works best right after a factory reset or a firmware flash. I must agree with RyanZA on this one.

I totally agree with you, there should be no relation between gps and lagfix.
But again it went bad after the lagfix. I installed more stuff but nothing related to GPS functions.
Will do some more testing tonite and report later.
The GPS worked fine tonight, but I left it warming a long while before hitting the streets.
Hi I also face this problem before, but able to solve it by recalibrated my compass, just key in *#0*# then click on sensor, hold your phone up site down do a few 8 turns and you must get a reading of 3 on the compass.
Now that you mention this... I know it seems almost irrational to say an ext2/3/4 partition affects GPS performance, but I was "OK" (that's a big word... ) with it on JM1. Then I downloaded OCLF from the Market and everytime my navigator drops the signal or gets stuck on navigation availability query. Bah! I may just guess it has to download the maps somewhere and it fails just like a Market download does sometimes (but I don't know if it's related to my ext partition). Maybe I should just unlagfix my SGS and see what happens.

That looks awesome! Would be cool if every user had this accuracy. Btw, how do you generate screenshots on eclair (2.1) without using adb?
outside lock, lagfixed 2.2 JPC
sometimes i do get a 8 or 9 grey bars that just wont lock on, but a reset of the phone clears that up. bit annoying all the same.
one thing that the graph isn't showing is satellite locks don't seem to last very long, but luckily there are enough of them that the connecting is continuous.

I have applied the Epic 4G GPS fix and anywhere outside my phone just refuses to get a decent lock. Every so often It will get a good reception but after moving it disconnects. Although with the new JPC firmware I had flashed the GPS was spot on. Connected instantly and no problems whatsoever with it stuttering or anything.
This is just a theory but there's a strong likelihood that people also update maps after flash and there lies the answer.you must restart phone after running maps for the first time or it will almost never get a lock.also network should be unchecked and rely only on agps.sometimes with network enabled the app can not even start the real gps.
Dear All,
I've been very frustrated with the GPS Module of the DHD. Most of the time it takes about 10 Minutes in open space to get a lock and when it does its not very accurate (30 meters) It also seems very unstable. Sometimes when I get a good lock of 10 Meters it will only last for a few seconds and move up again to 30+. I tested my friends HTC Hero and it gets a more stable stronger lock much faster in the same position. Indoors, even close to the window it won't lock at all where the Hero will lock in less than 10 seconds with 8 Satelites. I already tried all kinds of tools (GPS-tool etc.) AGPS and it won't help much. Like I mentioned, I will get a lock eventually but it is very unstable
I don't know how much of this failure is Radio depdendent and how much of it can be fixed by software in the long run. I'd like to hear your experiences and your comparison with other devices.
IMO it is unacceptable to receive such low quality GPS hardware in a device that is supposed to be top of the line.
I'd love to hear some suggestions.

If you don't have the latest Radio, try updating to it, to see if that helps. If it doesn't yours is faulty, get it exchanged or repaired. You shouldn't have to accept a substandard handset.
Okay...
Could you please tell me what your accuracy in meters is and how many satelites you get and how long it took ?
GPS is usually between 3-10 metres and locks within 20 seconds.

Where do you live?
Often the problem is that the gps.conf is set to look for a time zone, far away from where you live
I own both HD2 and DHD. After rooting the HD2 and fiddling with it, I found that editing /system/etc/gps.conf might improve things a lot!!!
Have a look here!!!!. The GPS part of the post is the relevant one.
Today I was fiddling with both phones, and was struck that the HD2 is outperforming DHD by far.
In the HD2 the server is set Bulgaria, and in my DHD the server is set to north America (obviously too far form where I am). I think that makes the difference. I will find a way to to root DHD. (Had issues with z4root,any suggestions for permanent or temporary root welcome, new to the phone)
You might want to try this method.
Be warned that rooting a phone voids any warranty
Please, report if this helps.
if your rooted an eng s-off could upgrade radio, but also try these gps config from this thread first
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=869075
if you scroll down abit in first post you will find the part about the gps config fix.
@deckoff use VisionaryR14 to root desire HD but thats only if you have older firmware but newer firmware 1.72.405.2 needs to be downgraded first.
Sorry for the off-topic nature of some of these questions:
1. Can I edit /system/etc/gps.conf with temp root only???
2. downgrade the firmware is not equal to reset to factory defaults, is it so??? I read the threat discussing the topic... and it seems going back to firmware defaults is not enough... am I right???
3. Why would HTC ship millions of phones with gps server set no north america to other parts of the world... ( would LOVE to know the answer to that one!!!!)
Thank you
In conclusion , it seems if I want to have good working GPS I would have to
- back up my settings
- downgrade firmware
- restore settings
- root
- edit gps.conf
...
How do you find the info on the number of satellites and the accuracy ? I can't find it anywhere.
The problem for me is that the software is giving me :"searching for satellites" and the GPS icon is blinking.... this means that there is no GPS fix, and this goes for a long time...

Try an app such as GPS Status from the market.
Thanks. Thought maybe it was info directly from the navigation app, but I'll try that app instead.

I can confirm that GPS status works the way described. Just tried it on my DHD. On the other hand, editing /system/etc/gps.conf and setting the correct continent settings!!! does the same trick, without additional software... Tried it on Hd2 with desire ROM.
PS would someone be so kind to tell me if one is able to edit. /system/etc/gps.conf with temp root only???
PPS why, HTC why would you set north America as location to a rom intended for sale in Romania Bulgaria Russia and our neighbors??? Seriously, I am gonna ask this question to HTC and post any answer given...

I've used the software in the post called Gps quick fix and what it does it sets the gps.conf to the right server in my case europe. No need for playing around with it manually. it does exactly what it needs to do.
My result is that I get a clear fix within 20 seconds another problem that I was facing is that I am using the Otterbox casing which is very sturdy and covers the GPS antenna where the LED's are. Now when I take the casing off it seems to get a fix much quicker.HTC should have thought more about placement of the GPS antenna to prevent such issue but okay. I suppose now everytime I want to use GPS I have to take off the cover :/
Thank you for all the useful help and posts here!!

I have the same Otterbox case and I can see no such problems with lower fix times. Putting a case on your phone will affect any radio signal, irrespective of where the antenna is.
[Q] regarding GPS.
I am not getting any LOCK on my GPS signal, it just kept blinking. anyone experienced this issue? i am using stock desire hd rom. no port whatsoever.
Excuse the long winded post here but I'm having some GPS issues too.
On my way home from work today I decided to use My Tracks app to see how long it would take me to walk home a different route. After starting the app it showed my location as accurate to only 1200m and said I was on a street called Flourmill Lane. The street name is irrelevant but you'll see why I've mentioned it soon*. I thought it might just take a few minutes to settle so set My Tracks to record my journey, put the phone in my pocket and went on my way. When I got home and checked My Tracks and it had recorded the time taken but not distance, speed or any of the route info. GPS and 3G/H were both on the whole time and I do have GPS Status app and A-GPS data installed. So, once I got home I decided to try a few basic tests with using Google Maps next to a window (it's too cold out!)...
3G/H + GPS - accurate to 1200m*
WiFI + GPS - accurate to 40m
GPS only - accurate to 1200m*
3G/H only - accurate to 1200m*
GPS Status app showed a fix on 8/8 available satellites.
Compared to outside work earlier before I started walking home:
3G/H + GPS - accurate to 1200m*
GPS only - accurate to 1200m*
WiFi unavailable as I was outside
*Doesn't matter if I'm at home or work, when it says accurate to 1200m it always shows my location as Flourmill Mill road, which is a street roughly equal distance from work and home but not actually on my route.
My only conclusion from this is that I'm only getting accurate location data from wifi, not 3G or GPS. This would explain why My Tracks only recorded the time it took me to walk home and not the other stuff, but I'm clueless why it always thinks I'm at Flourmill Lane unless wifi is on! What's most annoying is I only ever use Google Maps and My Tracks at times when no wifi is available and 3G might be weak or unavailable.
I've just tried reinstalling Google Maps, downloading latest A-GPS data, manually editing /system/etc/gps.conf for Europe but the problem persists! I think I'm going to rest my fingers from typing for a while and then try a different radio.
Does anyone have any other ideas? Really don't want to return the phone for repair / exchange so if I can fix it myself I'll try anything!
Cheers
EDIT: Going back to previous radio didn't help
EDIT 2: Just did nandroid restore from a few days ago, downloaded new A-GPS, edited gps.conf, left the phone next to window for 10 minutes with GPS on, made a cup of tea, checked the phone and it seems to get a fix within a few seconds. Google Maps is more accurate now too
Sorry for reviving this thread, but I have had the same problems but no software fixes have changed anything.
So, I thought I share my story on fixing it.
First off, making sure you have just bad signal strength and not a pure fix problem, use "GPS Test" and look at the signal strength. Many of the satellites should have at least 30-40 in signal, if they are just barely approaching 25 or even worse, you most certainly have a antenna problem.
To verify this, place a finger on the small plastic cover where the camera flash resides, and slightly push it inwards. If the signal goes up, as mine did, you have located the problem and it's the gps antenna.
Now it's your decision what route you want to take, I chose to possibly void the warranty by popping it open, you should consider sending it to a HTC service center and getting the antenna cover replaced. My solution was to clean up the goldpainted contacts on the cover and raising the spring contacts from the motherboard up to get a good contact to the antenna.
A video on how to disassemble it is availible at youtube (interesting part at 1:45) youtube.com/watch?v=JfatoeWbMRk

(Mine is black)
The day I got my Sony LiveView, I had one problem: The screen wasn't working.
But this was only 2 months ago, so I got a discount coupon from the store and bought the SmartWatch as it just arrived in store.
1. FIRST IMPRESSION
As usual, the design caught my eye, it looked even nicer then the pictures google image gave me.
As every geeky person would do is to try turning it on but that didn't quite happen as I thought it would, you had to charge it 2 hours before you can start playing it. That of course you had to find out yourself as the paper guide told you nothing about waiting.
Charging it is taking the device of the wristband, opening the clip and placing the L shaped cable between the clip and... god this is hard to explain.
It's like clipping it to your belt, but the belt is the cable. There!
2. APPS
Anyways, Once I installed the necessarily software to connect the phone, the first thing you notice is that you get a menu with all Sony apps designed for the SmartWatch. Quite handy as you don't need to start searching for them on the app store. It even has a predefined shortcut to search for apps with "SmartWatch" so you don't have to start typing it (Yey for the 2.3Seconds win!)
Installing an app is as easy as agreeing with the terms and downloading it. Once installed, the app is active on your mobile AND watch.
You can select any installed app such as Twitter or Facebook, even Find Phone tool (VERY handy for girls and there maze purses between tampax and rocks...) with various settings. Some apps can be defined as gadget on your home screen.
Some apps are being created by cool nerds to enhance the flexibility of your watch. One of my favorite is the VFinder, an app who can take pictures with your phone camera, you see the camera on your watch with around 1-2FPS. (Yes you that lives next door a pretty girl, no more peaking, use your phone and watch!) Or the GPS tool, see how fast your driving, how high your climbing and where the hell on this planet your standing.
Maybe a Maps app? There are two who are being worked on, but you can test it already. They both are really bad for now, the one using google maps is the worst. But it's still in early stage... right?
3. HARDWARE
Now, to how handy this tool really is...
First of all, it reacts as it should with your finger(s), but then again, some buttons are to small.
When you double tab the watch, you have a 70% chance it will turn on.
You are also able to shake the device to wake it, but only a 10-20% chance, and not just a little shake, more like shacking a cocktail!
As alternative, you have a ON button on the side.
So, when you manage to turn on the watch, you get the digital clock, with the day (Mo, Tu,We,Th,Fr,Sa,Su) and the day of the month. You don't get to see the month and year.
Once you tab on it, you get the homescreen. On the homescreen you got the gadgets. Wiping your finger on the screen to the left and right, you get to slide between gadgets. I got mine defined on Twitter, Facebook and Events (missed calls, SMS, MMS, etc). The Gadgets are fullscreen buttons, clicking on them will give you more info. When reading your incoming SMS, you can slide up and down to read the whole thing.
Using two fingers and tabbing them both together on the screen makes you go back, I would have preferred a double tab, as sometimes you just can't tab with 2 fingers when smoking a sigaret (Or something else.)
Once back on the homescreen, you can slide down to get the menu. On the menu you find your installed apps. Sliding left and right again you get to find more of your apps.
I happen to have noticed, some apps freeze the watch (Or phone, still sorting it out) till you reboot the watch or force close the app on your phone. Restarting the app will make it work again.
Quite disappointing tbh.
Now about the device main app. It's missing some things we could all use...
For instance, I'd love to change the Screen Timeout time to 10 seconds, as for now it turns off to fast.
Having a function to turn off or dim vibrate would be amazing so i don't have to take off my watch when sleeping.
Changing the screen brightness would be handy for certain things.
Having an option to add a background, change UI colors and styles would be amazing to have, as it's your special watch, you want it to be yours only.
PROS & CONS
Pro's
Design
Multi-touch screen
Size
Respounds Time
Very cool apps
Con's
Can't see screen well in sun
Music Player volume buttons to small to touch on screen
Menu should be fullscreen menu buttons like Live View (It's to small to work with when driving/biking)
Some apps could use more options
Sometimes screen doesn't show image, but still reacts to touching
Should have WAY more settings. (eg. Screen Timeout, Customizations, Vibration strenght, Brightness, etc)
Shaking it to wake up works 1 out of 10 times only

First-time-use-charging is pain in the ass. I connected it to the charging cable, but wasn't sure if it's charging or not... no LED light, no response from watch... nothing. In begining I thought I recevied defective one, that is not charging. Also using custom (too) short USB cable instead of micro USB cable is simply dumb. I think charging is the main failure of this watch.
Watch battery indicator is also not use accurate. It was showing about 50%, but next hour it shut itself down.
Apps are not to good, but they are getting better and better. Unfortunately Facebook and Twitter apps are realy bad. Almost just plain text with no forming. Mail notifications are currently bad.
Weather app is very good, but it needs option for current location not just predefined location.
Find phone, Messaging, Missed call, ModeChanger, TicTacToe, StatusView, Counter, GPS Viewer, GPS Map, Slideshow and Battery Level apps are useful and good working!
Music player needs bigger buttons!
I would prefer bigger screen, but i got big hands, so this is not for everybody. Also pixel densiti and screen brightnes is too low.
Also it would be cool it it would have mic and speaker, so I could answer phone calls from the watch.
And one more tip: the easiest way to check your watch is double tap on the alu ring/band. It apparently uses accelerometer to wake up.

I had that very same impression at first. I will quote this in my review, as the same thing happened to me. The battery was showing 50% if not more and suddenly, I could not revive the thing. I used it for 1 day and a half and it died already :/
Abou the dubble tabbing, you would need a hammer, as I had to almost hit it
LED and Micro-USB would have been handy. Now I have to order a new cable in case the watch dies while driving/working... Worst case scenario, lose the cable...

Nope, no hammer in use!
You just have to get used to it. It works surprisingly good!
One downside is also that it actually is no watch, it's a clip. It is unnecessary bulky because of the clip. 12,5 mm instead of 8,5 mm. So I can easily imagine a scenario where i break the clip by getting cought somewhere since it does not lock in closed position. This would cause the "watch" to be unuseable since you can't charge it properly nor wear it as a watch anymore.
It also not a real watch because it does not show the time without interaction.
I want my MBW-150 back
Nevertheless it has some awesome apps like the camera tool and GPS map "Google Maps for Smartwatch" finally works like a charm.
the sony smartwatch is Waterproof ?, You can splash in the water or surmeger?
It's just dust and splash proof. So... it's not waterproof. No submerging!
Just a little heads up.
Mine stopped working yesterday. It stopped reacting till I placed it back in it's charger.
So, what I now get is a fully charged SmartWatch MN2, who only works when you place it in it's charging cable.
Once every (around) 30 seconds it reboots on it self, then searches for your phone.
Your phone says it's still connected, so the SmartWatch keeps searching till you reset your phone's Bluetooth device list.
Once reconnected, you need to be lucky to be able to use it at least 15 more seconds before it reboots and searches infinitely again.

This is EXACTLY what has now happened to mine! Got to send it to a Sony Repair place now.
It's a little frustrating
I like my Smartwatch so far. I've had it a couple weeks. Music control works great with DoubleTwist & the FindMyPhone app is great (if you're in bluetooth range). The Endomondo app is nice too as I keep my phone strapped to my arm while running.
My main complaint is the actual app buttons. 9 times out of 10, when I tap the icon to launch the app, it thinks I'm swiping and goes back to another screen. So frustrating. Better firmware with slightly larger buttons or something better come quick. I almost chucked the thing across the room. Luckily, the strap was too tight & I had calmed down by the time it came off.
Ok i am so confused .. I wanna ask what is main difference between Liveview and LiveView2(Sony Smartwatch)
I am planing to buy one so which one should i go for and why .. !!!??

Its been more than 2 weeks since I have this S6 Edge+ and so far, I love the design and software. There is no lag so far, no matter which application/game I threw at it... However, from time to time, I have encountered quite a few bugs in the device which I would mention below. It would be helpful if somebody else too confirms that they have witnessed these. Actually all of them went away with a normal restart, so I have my doubts if any of you have noticed any so far...
So, here's the list:-
1. First time when I connected my phone via USB to my PC, I selected MTP (The option appears when you connect the USB cable to a PC) and I was unable to browse through any of the files. That was weird because once I selected Camera (PTP), I was able to see all the files. I tried again with MTP and it was same, so I just continued with PTP instead to copy the files I needed to.
After that day, I didn't connect my USB until today and it worked just fine today (I was able to see files through MTP). Although I have restarted my phone several times between then and now, so not sure what fixed it or broke it in the first place.
2. A couple of days back (probably last Friday), I was watching a video on facebook browser and I turned the phone to landscape mode. However, the video or the browser didn't turn. I thought it could be due to any facebook app issue, so I switched to normal browser (Open in Chrome option) and yet again the browser won't tilt. I closed it and opened the official YouTube app and tried a video and strangely that didn't work either. At this point, I was mad. I tried all other apps, nothing was working. I did try turning Auto-Tilt on/off several times during this but nothing worked. I just restarted my phone as a last resort and it started working just fine. Didn't have any issue till date.
3. I use CloudMagic app for my corporate email. Yesterday when I received a mail, I just got a notification on lock screen. I swiped it away. Later, when I unlocked the phone, I saw that there was still a notification from the app. When I dragged down the notification bar, I saw that there is a blank space left for the notification and the other notifications are displayed after that blank space. And no matter what I did or try, the notification simply wouldn't go away. I even selected CloudMagic from Application Manager and selected Force Stop which should have practically stopped everything related to that app but the notification still didn't go. So, I'm assuming this is not application issue, this could be some notification manager issue with S6E+. Here's a screen cap from that day:-

4. This one happened today and it was quite irritating too. I went to Developer Options -> Animator duration scale -> Animation scale 10x. After this, you would realize that all the animations would become very slow. You can try tapping on Recent button and see all the recent apps open up at slo-mo. I did that to beat the Android Lollipop Easter Egg game. After that, when I changed it back to 0.5x or 1x, the Animation rate wouldn't change. I tried doing it couple of times. Tried turning off Developer Options and turning back on but it didn't work. The animations were so slow for every application till I restarted the phone. After restart though, it worked fine.
5. Well, this one isn't a bug I'm sure but this isn't curable using a restart. The screen of the Edge+ is highly sensitive, so even if I tap to touch, sometimes it just registers the touch as touch n hold and hence the tap action isn't performed. This is visible in games like "Clash of Clans" where I would have to click multiple times on Resource Generators (Gold Mine & Elixir Mine) to take out the generated deposit when the zoom level is at minimum. I've seen another post from a user who reported the same issue. Game just happened to be one of the examples to witness this issue.
I'm not really annoyed with any of the above bugs and given the chance, I would still buy the S6 Edge+. I can even live with all the above bugs (if they are bugs at all), as long as they're fixed with a restart.
Just want to know if you guys had any of such issues yet ? or may be noticed some other bug in the system yet ?
Hi.
I've been using the Edge Plus for about 5 days and the only bug that happened to me was the blank notification, I solved it myself by restarting the phone, it is important to mention that this only happened once.

I know, it happened only once for me too. However, its been just 2 weeks since the phone has released, which isn't a very long time to see this issue repeating. Let's hope it doesn't.
I have the phone for 2½ weeks now and what I have noticed is that sometimes it will not awake from deep sleep so screen will remain blank even though I have pressed the home button and then action will be initiated after sometime.. Don't know why but sometimes just happens, maybe once a day during last week.. All apps I have installed are the ones I always using and none of them is like non trusted etc

Love mine! But I have two things. Every now and then when I turn the screen on the phone freezes for like 7 seconds or so. It doesn't bother me that much since it only happens once every other day.
The second thing is that when I connect my phone to via Bluetooth to my cars audios yster to listen to music. Everything is studdering and lagging so bad I can't listen to it. Then I need to disconnect and reconnect a few times and if I'm lucky it will work. Today though I connected (and it was bad) but then I used the smart cleaning app on the phone and after that it worked fine for the rest of my trip. Might be some cache from some app that's causing this. I'm going to try to use the smart cleaning app a few days in a row now when I'm connecting the phone to see if that helps, I hope so.

Yeah. I did a factory reset yesterday (first one for me on this phone) and now there is no issue at all when it comes to connecting to my car. Haven't experienced any freezes as well but that's to early to say I guess.

Good to hear that. However, we can't just depend on Factory Reset every time something like this shows up...
Device G9287 . Lock your screen with pattern and then double press the camera button and open it.You will see blue line scanning your phone and the phone becomes unresponsive.Press back button and click home button thrice and then phone becomes responsive and you can draw the pattern and it will accept it.
Just got that bug some one said about the when the phone is locked and you touch it, the screen just stays black
The 'night clock' seems to take a hell of a lot of battery.
I woke up the other night after having it on from 11pm-7am with nearly 40% drain with 'android system' being kept awake for 12 hours - Can only assume it was the clock that's doing this.
I cleared the cache, no better, factory reset - Bit better, but still seeing a 20% drain over night with almost no apps installed since I got it (I like to make sure everything's working as expected before installing everything).

So, I have ran into quite a problem. It didnt really happen out of the game Piano Tiles 2 but still, its annoying. I press onto the black tile but it doesnt register my touch. I dont know if it has something to do with the compatibility but it works perfectly fine on my m8. I havent unlocked, s-off or rooted my phone so thats not the problem. If anyone has a fix for this or the same problem please reply
EDIT: Tried testing the touch with an app called touch screen test, and as I thought it doesnt register every touch on the edges of the screen. It registers like 3 of 10 hits, sometimes more sometimes less. Does it have something to do with the sharp panel, which i dont think matters but I didnt see the problem on any other threads here.
I've been having issues with my phone's touch responsiveness since day one.
Swipes are registering as taps, long presses registering as taps, and some taps are not registering.
It doesn't happen all the time, but it does happen.
I haven't rooted, unlocked the boot loader or s-offed.
It's an AU Telstra stock phone.
I thought it might be my screen protector, so I changed that and it still happens.
Maybe it's my launcher? IDK why that would be, I had Nova on my M8 and that worked perfectly. I changed back to stock launcher and still getting the issue.
In fact I have all the same apps installed that I had on my M8, and my M8 had a perfectly responsive screen.
I specifically came here today to see if anyone else was having the issues or if I'm the only one, maybe we have dud units and it's not wide-spread?
I am having the same problem now. It wasn't present at first. I tried a factory reset, but it didn't help.
I am going to try and get a replacement.
Only with Sharp panel there's the problem?
I went and saw Telstra yesterday to show them the problem, I was worried because it's an intermittent problem that phone would behave in front of them, but luckily it did screw up in front of them.
They have a policy where faulty phones will be replaced as a straight swap over in the first 30 days.
I've installed nearly everything and haven't had the issue once.
I don't really know what type of panel it is related to, etc. I called HTC, and they are overnighting me a replacement. I don't expect to see this problem surface again on the new model. It doesn't seem to be a wide spread issue. Maybe the screen didn't adhere properly to the digitizer, but I am not an expert in this area.
This is what I noticed too before sending it back to the store. Now that I think of it, try enabling glove mode for the screen to see if it still misses certain touches.
Ill try that. I still consider it a flaw, and HTC has already shipped the replacement (if my UPS tracking alert is from them).
It isn't that the screen doesn't pick up the touches, because it does. But If I try to touch anything in the upper 15% percent of the screen, it doesn't register properly. For example; the search bar in the google play store, search button in the gmail app, etc. If I try to push that, sometimes it doesn't respond, but most often it will register as a swipe, or actually register as a press somewhere in the middle of the screen.
I believe it is a hardware flaw. The problem persist, despite a factory reset. If I turn the phone in landscape, the problem stays localized to the mentioned portion of the screen; thus I believe it is hardware vs software.
Ok I tried glove mode and it does say i touched the screen, but for every app ive tried it doesnt recognize it still. So glove mode says i clicked, but it didnt on the screen. Hows that possible? maybe really not a hardware flaw idk

My HTC 10 screen doesn't respond to touches in the search bar at Google Apps and most apps actually except FB & Instagram. And when u slide the tool dock down, the 6 tabs under date & time aren't responding!
When I tired rotating the screen, they were in a different position and they worked normally.
I downloaded a screen test app and it was registering all touches correctly except in this rectangle on top of screen (at the dock & search bars position) it registers it as two thumbs on screen at the top quarter of that non-responding rectangle.
Does anybody know exactly is that a software or a hardware issue and how to solve it if the phone is not under warranty?

Same issue, just happened today, let me know if you found a solution
damn it
Please add necessary info, like sw version #, display panel info, etc. that might help to track.
A reboot to safe mode is always worth trying. If many of us ran into the same issue, maybe we can locate if it's HTC ROM related, or 3rd party apps related, or the worst: hardware related.
For my device, sometimes it's not very responsive on the side of the screen, but I've never had an area totally untouchable.
HTC 10, EU, 2.41.401.4, Sharp panel.
Edit on 26 May 2017: I just regret to say things above....Because I have the similar problem right now...I have no idea what happened...
take a look at image below:
The lines I drew were curved strangely bt the screen itself...
I tried a reboot and cleared the cache, it seemed to be working. Only after a few hours, it came back...I rebooted to save mode to test, but it still exists and getting worse:
I have no screen protector applied, phones wasn't dropped or got punctured recently...what's going on...
My solution
Mine is fixed yaaay
I had the same issue the upper 15% doesn't work...
A week ago I did a command from the PC to lower the screen so i can use the device:
adb shell wm overscan 0,0,0,260
Today I wanted to revert back to full screen instead of using only 85% so i did the command with default values:
adb shell wm overscan 0,0,0,0
Now it is working with no issues so i can confirm it is not hardware fault must be software.
If anyone has the same issue try the first command and reboot the phone the use the second command. (You need a PC with adb installed)
Good luck

I have htc 10, and Only 1 cm from the top of the touch screen is not working, so the notification panel can't pull down.
with this solution can I fix it?
Developed the same problem a couple weeks ago. Factory reset did not help.
Currently using the "overscan fix" described above (used 0,250,0,0)
Reverting to default does not fix the problem for me.
I fixed my htc10 after a month of dealing with htc RMA unsuccessfully.
Seriously try this. It fixed my phone on the second click. I was shocked.
