...very stable and with lot of internal memory space.
Just to know...I'm owner of Desire more than year ago. Tried few ROMs (Leedroid, GingerVillain, CyanogenMod, Oxygen, SuperNova). The best for me was Oxygen, but...internal memory was the problem.
Now got SuperNova 2.4.0.1 but...ROM is battery eater! Have to charge 2 times/day...battery was calibrated after flashing, and battery stats was cleared in Recovery
And got 1 bigger problem..everytime after shuting down phone reset to default settings :goingmad:
I like SuperNova 2.4.0.1 but don't know how to resolve problems...
Give me some ROM and make me satisfied
The internal space is the same on all aosp (greater problem on sense roms).
Make an ext partition, take the rom you want and install Link2Sd, so you can move the apps (apk, dalvik and/or libs) to ext.

Did you run full wipe before flashing? Tried if installing a kernel from Droidzone's HP helps to resolve the battery draining issue?

oxygen is stable, internal memory should not be a problem.
have an ext partition as stated above, you can use links2sd or a separate A2SD script.
s-off and change hboot to will also help a lot. if system size is <100MB you can use oxygenR2, otherwise cm7r2 is a safe bet.
i've not used supernova, but battery shouldnt be as bad as you're saying, sounds more like a bad app somewhere

installing another kernel is easy, just flash from recovery like you would a rom. nandroid backup before as usual. may help solve your battery issues.

try betterbatterystats (can find it on xda somewhere), may help you identify if any app is keeping your phone awake
think you need to do some extra reading on what hboots are
you are on stock hboot, you only need to change it depending on your rom requirements, check the supernova thread
for oxygen rom, stock hboot is a large waste of space, as it has a 250MB system partition (most of it empty using oxygen rom), and only ~147MB internal memory, which is why you were running low.
have a look at alpharev to see the partition tables. for instance, cm7r2 has only 145MB system partition, and much larger 288MB internal
Thank you so much
I'll change hboot today..and i'll try with betterbatterystats
Thanks again

I've just updated my RCMixHD 3.5++, wiping up everything, to 3.6 without the data++ with data2ext and I was wondering why it seems like I can't install anything when I get to having 342MB of free space, I've been trying like mad wiping up and reflashing.
has anybody an idea on what I can do?
UPDATE: it seems I can push the installations through adb with success...
anybody an idea? could it be the latest Market version breaking something?
it's quite IMPOSSIBLE to get all the APKs I could want from market or anything outside it without having the Market app working...
Is your phone saying it has free space but still cannot install the apps?
i have this same. info screen says i have a lot of space and when i try to install something i become warning screen that say, i don't have enought space
Cm7 partition image??

When you installed RCMixHD 3.5 D++ did you install the cm7 hboot which is recommended for this rom? If you did, before you install D2EXT rom, you need to revert your hboot back to Bravo stock for it to work correctly!

When I installed RCMixHD++ I didn't install che cm7 hboot (namely it was said that having s-offed with AlphaRev could be enough), so I think that now that I have the 3.6 without the ++ I could just wipe everything and flash it. Maybe it's just a problem of the missing Vending.apk and patching.
s-off itself doesnt give you anything in terms of space
but it allows you to change your hboot (partiton layout) so you can have more space for apps. so if you didnt do cm7 partitions and installed data++ rom... well the point of data++ roms is to have cm7 partitions layout...

Hi there,
I just flashed into Runnymede007, however I find the rom a bit laggy. It's sometimes unresponsive and opening menus take some time.
I'm also new to flashing, so is this a problem with the ROM? I've searched the topic and some others are complaining, and one said moving the dalvik cache to the internal SD made it faster. Another said replacing hboot with CM7boot or something made it faster.
What would you recommend? Or should I do something else completely?
Thanks in advance!
First Runnymede roms are heavy for desire.... yes dalvik on internal will make it a bit quicker but you will have no space on internal soon as it will be eaten by dalvik... if you using stock hboot try to switch to cm7 hboot or cm7/r2 as per developer instruction... I have no experience with Michaelm007 Runny... Currently I'm running Cool Runny and Sebastian Runny SE on two desires... I found them really quick on cm7 hboot

Okay, I currently have installed cm7/r2 hboot on it using "fastboot flash hboot bravo_alphaspl-cm7r2.img".
The bootloader give me the this version:
AlphaRev CM7 r2
Bravo PVT3 SHIP S-OFF
HBOOT-6.93.1002
It's still laggy, takes about 2 sec to show lockscreen when display is off, couple of seconds to load settings menu.. before it was almost instant.
you can try flashing another kernel...for some ppl the sqn kernels are smoother than those by bananacakes
Is there any you can recommend? Im running http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1318370 (RunnymedeMod007)

What kind of A2SD are you using? With what kind/make/class of SD card?
As for the ROM: You probably want to have a look at Runnymede AIO V4.0.2 Special Edition, it's awesome smooth, no lags at all, and rock stable. Best ROM I ever used, even better than stock.
Greets, Magpie
I have no idea which version of AP2SD I am using. I have a 16 GB micro SD HD of an unknown make.
I'll try that rom, however do I need to have any custom kernel for that? There is a kernel link in that topic but I am unsure what to do with it.

Normally, if you changed your hboot, you should reflash the ROM to chose the data script that suits the hboot version the best (A2SD+ for stock hboot, XD2SDX for cm7 hboot). If it's still laggy, try to change CPU freq in SetCPU or Daemon Controller, or flash different kernels, which suit your needs. TRY!!!

Can someone tell me whats the difference between ClockworkMod and Bravo CM7 r2 alpharev 1.8?
clockwork mod is a recovery
wherease cm7r2 is a HBOOT-changes system partition for bravo giving you more internal memory --- trick is to find a rom that fits in cm7r2
I installed AD2SDX and I have clockwork 5.0.2.0 and interneal memory like 632Mb
clockwork mod is the recovery you have , nothing to do with ur internal memory
in this cas eyour internal memory reflects the free space in ur sd ext partition of 1GB
I know that clockworkmod has nothing to do with memory I was just saying what I have. I got 16gb adata class 10 memory card alot of space there.
So I assume I have stock hboot now, is it good to put some other ?
Why is trick to find rom with cm7r2? Runnymede will fit on it, and alot of them here that I saw will.

ClockWorkMod is simply a recovery program and if I may advise you, use 4ext Recovery instead. it has more feautures, has never given me any problems plus is has the benefit of having a touch interface now... now thats what i call cool. oh ya, it also has a usb unbrick option built-in and i can assure you that such is very very useful once you get into the habbit of always flashing Roms and such.. Happy Modding... hope you will enjoy it as much as i do
Okay, and whats so special about that hboot CM7 r2 is there any better one ?
What that guy up said extend internal memory, but I already got enough of internal memory like 620Mb don't need more.
And how to delete this clockworkMOD and install 4ext I never done that before I recently rooted my phone, can I do that with rom installed or I must wife all ?
There is no best hboot overall. It depends on the rom. The best hboot for a ROM is the one which only just fits into /system to give you as much internal memory (/data-partition) as possible.
Just flash new recovery via fastboot. But for 4EXT I recommend to use the 4EXT Recovery-App (Downloadlink for free version in recovery's thread, paid version can be downloaded in Android Market).

Cool, then I don't need to put this CM7 r2 becouse I already have enough internal memory with this S-Off 1.02 stock hboot.
btw what do you think about kernels wich one is good, I use droidzone now.

Droidzone is #1 this time
Sent from my HTC Desire using Tapatalk
I'm using droidzen that last one for sense 3.5.
I have recently downgraded my HTC which was T-Mobile Branded. Ruinning android 2.2.2 and had HBOOT 0.93.
I downgraded the phone in order to root it, so i followed this tutorial successfully. It worked fine on downgraded firmware.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=696189
I then rooted phone using unrevoked. which was not compaitable with firmware, 2.2.2
I then S-off the phone using Alpha 1.8
I then looked around for some roms, Now the issue is whenever, i attempt to install a rom which involves sense. It installs successfully, but then the bootscreen just continues in a loop.
This can be resolved by restoring back to the downgraded firmware?
Now my question is what is the possible cause of this bootloop and sense roms etc?
any suggestions are much appreciated
You didn't read the instructions carefully. Those Sense roms requires ext partition on the sd card.
via xda app

I forgot to mention, with or without partitioning i have no luck. With partition it just freezes at boot screen. Whereas, without partition, it is in a loop.
Yea...first boot can take up to 30 minutes.

Did you wipe system partitions prior to flashing? Also did you check what hboot type the rom requires? Stock hboot, cm7r2 hboot, etc.
Try to download Cyanogenmod7 rom here http://get.cm/?device=bravo&type=
Flash this and see if this boots up for you. If you are s-off and is using custom recovery already then you don't really need to go through the whole process again.

Thanks, for the reply. This is an e.g of the rom sense roms i have tried.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1431908 and runnyrom which both have similar results.
I have just installed Cyanogenmod7 which installs and functions properly.
and have tried this rom which works fine.

i seem to only face such problems with sense Roms?
I assume the HBOOT is related to the alpha 1.8 which i used to S-OFF.
Im confused as i have the Desire S and have not had such problems before? It normally takes no longer than 5 mins to be up and running with the desire s. However, it seems to be the opposite with this desire?
Tell me what recovery are you using? I haven't used ICS roms in a long while so I'm not sure if it implements the use of sd ext partition out of the box. I feel it's your sd-ext partition (or the lack of it) is the problem.
I suggest to look for 4EXT recovery. It's in the desire forums just do a search. Download the apk and sideload it to your device on a running rom like Cyanogenmod it will replace your current recovery. Use 4ext recovery to partition your sd card. Make sure you backup your sd card to your computer before doing anything.

I just installed 4EXT recover and will post results back.
Just a brief question having just browsed the Alpha webpage http://alpharev.nl/
and have realised a partition table, now i am wondering if that has any influence on the installation of Roms
i Currently have a 1gb Mem partitioned to 126? if this is having effect on it not booting?
just to be sure what partition size would you recommend for sense roms?
thanks

Alpharev is for hboots - Stock, Data++, Cm7r2, Oxgenr2, etc
SD ext - for your sd card. safe bet is to have 1gb-2gb of ext partition size.
If you just have 126mb for your ext partition then obviously you don't have the minimum requirement for Sense roms to run.

When partitioning the memory card It asks to create two separate partitions and if i am correct the 3rd time for the exchange memory?
Ill try attempting with a larger memory card. But what would you recommend in terms of the last partition created related to exchange memory?
thanks.
when u goto tools/partition sdcard, choose this, its probably the most common setup for roms -
1024
skip
skip
then choose ext4
and ur done, dont forget backup anything important on sdcard coz it will wipe everything on it.

thanks, i did as u suggested and tried this time with a 16gb memory card .i can now install all roms Successfully.
My first question is if I have rooted using unrevoked can I still install hboots found from alpharev?
If I change hboots to one with more of a data partition will I get more space on my internal storage to install apps because we all know that the internal storage on the desire is very low and I can't install many apps. I have once or twice made sd-ext partitions and moved stuff over but it was too slow for me even using a class 10 card (and it seems a little complicated how to move over certain things).
Is there an hboot that isn't stock but acts as a stock hboot and allows me to install ROMs that will only work using stock hboot?
Which hboot and ROM would you recommend that will give me good space for internal storage to install apps? (I prefer simple, normal ones like cm. I have been using paranoid.)
Thanks in advance
Sooo... you have to be s-off to change hboot. Try revolutionary.
If the data partition is larger, then the more apps you can install.
You can use sd-ext to only keep your dalvik cache there. You won't notice performance issues.
I recommend cm7r2 hboot with an AOSP rom, like cm7 based roms, oxygen. I'm currently using redux. Try it.
You can find every HBOOT from apharev website.
There is a cell sheet wich show you different hboot and his specificities. So you can choose the best for your use
