The phone is a sealed unit therefore you cannot take the battery out. Should you need to replace it you need to send the phone back to HTC. In case of a random freeze in the OS you can hold down the Power button and Volume Down for a force restart.
replace battery
the battery can be replaced by specialists ( not necesarly from HTC ) or some one with adecvate skills..the battery from ONE X+ is compatible, and you get longer life ( 2100Mah)

Am i the only one experiencing bad battery life, with a moderate usage??

no i too get terrible battery life. With average internet use and wifi on, I only manage about 5 hours. Though I've only had the phone for 3 days, so I'm not judging too much as of yet.
However, with wifi off, the standby time is incredible. I spent about 75-80min driving, checked my phone, and it was still at 100%
even i was facing a similar problem. after a full recharge the battery was draining to 50% on standby mode in just 3 hours.... there was a signal reception problem n overheating problem as well ( cudnt touch the phone while charging without getting my hands burnt!!)
but i am getting the phone replaced by wednesday.already got the D.O.A. certificate from the service center. now just hoping the new phone will b alright!!
Agreed, with screen off, the battery kind of never drains....but with screen ON...it goes down like stock market

This is all in my opinion
Pros:
Looks good and feel great in the hand
Good build quality and very light
Screen is amazing
Camera is good
Very fast - minimal lag
Cons:
Battery life has been pretty poor, but I hear it gets better over time
Loud speaker could be better
That's about it really. Amazing phone

With regards to death grip, I've been trying and can only make.the WiFi drop one bar if I cover the top where camera is. And even then I didn't always get a drop lol

Well it was to be expected with these specifications that the battery life would be bad, but It will be better in the future I hope.

Was your video 720p ? I think that a Quad core tegra 3 running fast in such a thin space between a battery and a screen can get hot pretty fast ^^
Was it your first charge when you did let it go flat ? (never do this for a Lithium battery... always charge once full and try to have it above 10-20% as lithiu accu's don't like to be to empty)
If it was before first charge, it could be the reason
Thanks for the reply, the vid was from youtube so not sure of the res but temp goes to about 42C.
The charge was the second charge was out using it when when flat so cant be help when recharged time date needed resetting.

I was wondering if anyone hase seen anything like on http://www.power-skin.com for the HOX
or even more interesting to me would be to know if there is a solarchargerSkin to be found for the HTC One X as we have seen for the IPhone.
If not I would like to start, maybe a Kickstarter project to make this happen!
please Do !!! It benefit who HOX world
I think the HOX needs something like a spectacles case with the docking pins inside connected to an external rechargeable battery. That way it will recharge while not in use.

In.
Interested in this as well
me too
Definitly in!
The pogo connector makes for a great oppertunity!
Perhaps this could also include the development of a charging+data dock? (without the huge price and useless speakers)
Sign me up!
Sounds great. Make it work with the dock pins to keep the ports open in case you want to do hdmi out

sooo keep your eyes open
press the thanks button if i helped you with this info
I am definitely interested as I am a technology reviewer on YouTube and am sent products from companies for review. I would love to help get the word out as I definitely think this awesome phone is in dire need of some expandability options!
I want one of those PowerSkin case, I get worried when battery is less than 40% and it take ages to charge through USB port. I'm starting to eye Galaxy SIII to see how much more screen-on time it can get.
I'd not use it all the time, only when the phone battery goes below 50%, so the phone still can be used normally while the internal battery get charged from the power case.

Galaxy s3 actually won't get better battery life. It's uses a lot more battery web browsing etc....one x gets better battery life in general.
Only thing is swappable battery. But battery jacket when it comes will be nicer.

I'm also looking to see if S III have more stable software than the One X.
I never really had any major problem with my last phone (Note). But with One X on latest software, the phone lose SD space, 3rd party launcher re-draw all the widget/folder too often and I still have not got my 23Gb Dropbox space since getting the phone on launch day.
This is not acceptable after paying £450 for a flagship device from a major phone maker. I've already advised few worker mates to stay away from the One X until HTC release a stable ROM.
Again, as every HTC I've ever had with my friends/family, something happend.
This time ----- My Brother HTC One X shut down during use (not charging or anything, actually doing Screen shot)
And since then it won't charge, won't boot, won't show up on PC. not with Vol - or +, nothing.
Saw few threads about Battery failure, so I happen to have Battery (Original) so i've replaced the battery and still nothing.
Its warranty ended 2 months ago
Any suggestions ?
Thanks!

Seems its in APEX mode.. Or a complete piece of paper weight. Only mainboard replacement will help. Connect to computer and see how the computer reads the phone..

You are right the One X+ board will not fit.
Any Idea where I might find one ? (ebay shows nothing :\)
Just came back to say that I'll never get HTC again and never recommend HTC Again to anyone (Ex Fanboy talking)
The software is so good, but the hardware just won't last!
I've seen so many dead HTC's from friends and family like no other vender (5x HOX dead board devices, 4x HOX wifi problems, 1x HOV probably board too, 1x HOX GPS no fixing, 1x HOX screen flicker, 1x HO top 1cm touch screen not working)
grrrrr!
Sorry to say....but you just have bad luck. I'm running htc for 6 years now and non of my devices had any problems.....and i flashed a lot too. It's kinda weird to say...Don't buy HTC !
On one end i hope you get a crapsung and have to return it for warranty within weeks....then you will think back to the "good 'ol days"
Cheers ....
Cheers indeed.
Actually I hold a gave my Brother my old Wildfire so i can't be 100% mad at them.
But none of my friends who has non-HTC phone ever needed help with their phone hardware, while almost everyone I know with HTC need it serviced.
Maybe the heat down here is too much for the HTC's
So I've been reading a lot of forums but I can't seem to get things to work. My friend recently gave me his old HTC one x to mess around with. He hasn't used it in like a year and a half, because about a year and a half ago, his phone randomly cut off while he was using it and it wouldn't cut back on.
He's not the kind of person who roots or messes around with the phone so its stock.
I am getting NO led light when its on the charger. I've tried holding the power button forever. I've tried the power + vol down combo. Currently I'm leaving it on the charger for like four days to see if that fixes it.
Anyone have any other ideas before I open up the phone?

A new battery to begin with...if there is no visible damage to the motherboard. Like condensation, oxidation etc

Same thing happend with my One X too.. I have been using it, one day it went off and never turned on again.
No charging sign, no action on power buttons/volume.
I have tried with battery replacement too, but no luck. Unfortunately the battery tricky in HTC One X (handle with care).
If it worked in any sense, please leave your steps to fix it.

I took it apart and got it to charge and cut on for a little bit but I noticed one of the ribbons looked awfully brown as if it had been fried. I'm assuming that's the problem in most of these
