Video Screen Capture?

Is there an app that would allow for a video to be recorded of whats displayed on the screen? Or even a PC app that would do it if the phone is plugged in?
I'm looking for about 15fps if possible. MyMobiler seems to be WM only, or I read it wrong. Thanks in advance.
Never mind. Shoot Me released an update today with screencast. 10fps

CM7.1 10212011 Nightly problems

Posted here because I dont have enough posts to post in the Cyanogenmod thread.
I recently updated to the latest nightly (10212011). I did this after seeing that 10202011 had some issues when using the video camera.
So this weekend I made a short video thinking all would be good but when I played it back via 'Gallery' the portrait video footage played sideways in landscape mode. Turning the phone to landscape gave me a stretched portrait video, which isnt really ideal in a perfect world. I can play the video in QQPlayer in its correct orientation but the video seems to jump, repeat parts and also goes out of sync.
I have searched to see if this has occured but I have not seen this issue before, so I wanted to flag it up to the devs.
Additionally I have another problem which again after searching I have not found a solution to.
I have the Kindle app installed and it all works great, I can read my book etc but after leaving the app the phone freezes and my only way out is to remove the battery. Has anyone else come across this? is there a solution?
Thanks for any help
Lee

Mine does that too, unless I hold the phone sideways when recording. Lately getting it to record at all is my issue, but have posted that elsewhere

[Q] Turn driving mode into a DVR

hey guys,
im curious if its out there or some one ever thought about doing something like that.
is there a way when you turn on Driving mode or hack it to activate the camera and record. just like a personal DVR that you would buy to put in your car and when you drive it records what happens in front?..
last night i though about it if something did exist?.
anyways any tips would be awsome

So you want to use the camera like a video recorder?? because it does that already at 1080p

Well a better blackbox application would be to record gps data, and say the last 1 or 5 minutes of video. That way if you got into an accident, you'd have a record, but you wouldn't be recording 8GB of video for a long drive. Someone make that app, it could run whenever Navigation is on.
That's called a Black Vue HD camera... Look them up good product i have one

yes that would be an option of getting a REAL DVR but if you already have a mount for you phone and you have a idea about if its possible, you would want to see if its realistic.
what would be nice with a app that could turn on the camera recorder at 720P and record at 24 frames with the screen off to save energy. also i would have 40gb of space.. enough for hours of driving.
but that is a nice quality DVR that Black Vue HD camera
Auto guard from play store. It's what I Use best one I've found so far.

[Q] How to launch camera in either video or still mode?

Hi guys...
It happens pretty often that when I want to take a picture I accidentally start recording a video instead because last time I used the camera I recorded video.
Isn't there a way to have two camera icons instead? One for stills and one for videos?
Brgds... /Tubgirl
If you accidentally have it on recording you can also take pictures at the same time. Small camera icon on the bottom right

Taking photos while recording video

When I take pictures while recording, I noticed that the video kinda stutters at the moment when I press the photo button. Not when I am recording, but when I playback the video that I just shot. This also happened with my wife's original pixel. Has anyone experienced this?
Just tried it and it was completely smooth for me
Here are 2 videos I made with my Pixel 2 XL... I recorded them at 1080, 60fps.
There are little hiccups along the video, that's when im pressing the photo button during the recording. It feels like the camera freezes momentarily to take the picture while im shooting. I tested with 2 other original pixels and both also have tiny hiccups in the video when I press the photo button during recording.
When I shoot the video without taking any photos, the video comes outs perfect and very smooth. Could this be a hardware problem?

Have you tried clearing the data/cache of the camera app, rebooting and trying again?
I did, I even booted into safe mode and cleared the cache and restarted the phone. Tried turning off video stabilization just to test, but nothing changed..... Could it have something to do with OIS?

You sure you recorded it at 1080p 60 FPS because it's only 480p60 on YouTube. But yes I see the stuttering. Have you tried while in landscape? I only record landscape with the camera app and I've never had anything like that when I take photos while recording.

Yeah, on my phone I recorded at 1080... I think when I uploded to youtube, I may have uploaded incorrectly at a lower resolution. I'm gonna try to do it using landscape during the day.
Weird thing is, I tested on the original Pixel, I got similar results.

I just tested it myself and I do see just a slight stutter when recording in portrait. Also most as if the video stabilization had to do something. In landscape, perfectly smooth.

Here is my video in landscape mode.. same problem i had in potrait mode...
I tested using the front camera, and it doesn't have this problem.

Dunno what is happening with my phone... Could it be some settings I need to change?

Yeah I was.... I was almost taking a pic per second. Maybe 2 pics per second at some parts of the clip. I think I took 10-15 pics during the clip.

Yeah if I do it rapidly I can get it to stutter. So...don't do it rapidly. LOL. I never do it that why so that's why I never noticed it on video playback. Usually I only snap a couple pics while recording.

Tried recording and taking photo slowly. I can still notice the stutter at the moment I hit the photo button, but not as often as before.
Maybe I am being too picky about it? There is actually an option to stabilize the video if I go into edit mode, but I would have to manually edit each single video that I record. I just wonder if this is a software or hardware thing, since it happened on your recording and also happened on my wife's first gen Pixel.
Use the feedback option in Settings to report it. Googles attention to detail over the camera app should see this fixed soon hopefully
