Hi,
Not sure if you still have this problem, but I solved my friend's X by backup and factory reset. after restart, tested opening apps then home button, no more Loading..., then restored.
Hope this helps.

Thanks dansoh, Same I did and it started working fine but my worry is why the new phone needed such factory restore?

I already did a factory reset on mine and it still happens. I think when the phone runs out of ram, it may have randomly closed the home screen and so it needs to "load" again.
This sometimes happens with my galaxy nexus as well.

I had my homescreen always reloading again to.
Found out it had something to do with the setting: Options\Developer options, and there the 3rd option from below, don't save activities (not sure how it is displayed in the English version).
It should not be selected, otherwise it reloads the homescreen everytime.

I see that option. By the sound of it, i think it disables multi tasking?

i got the same problem too and it was yesterday it started as there was a new software update and i accepted and ever since, when i hit the home icon on the phone it says loading every time.. i followed all the tips of putting everything to 4 processors and turning off activity in the background and no luck.. i have noticed that when i go onto the task manager i have constantly over 641mb running even when i stop all and refresh.. where as before i updated it it was around the 300mb ... can i get the old version instead of 4.0.4 ? or is there another way ? thanks

White HTC Screen, weird

After rooting with Damagecontrol, anytime I go from an application back to the home screen, a White HTC shows up, then after 3 seconds goes away, a loading box comes up for about 3 seconds, and the home screen appears. Never happened before root. did I do something wrong? Did I change a setting by accident?
I hate this screen, slows everything down. Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks in advance
That white HTC screen is just the loading screen for Sense. Sounds like something is killing Sense while it's in the background so it has to reload when you go back to the home screen. Are you using any kind of app killer w/ auto kill turned on?
Nope, I had task manager installed, but I uninstalled it and it is still happening.
I'm bumping this to get a reply. I've searched the boards and having found much of anything besides this thread.
After I used rEVOked to root, I started getting this issue. I thought if I updated to the latest firmware, the problem would go away. I was wrong. Still getting this issue about 3-4 times a day which is pretty annoying.
I usually get this whenever I unlock my phone or going to a different home screen. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Unrevoked does not unlock NAND. More than likely, not being fully rooted has something to do with your problem.
Well, I've "cleared storage" and I am still getting the same problem... Any other possible solutions?
You said, "not being fully rooted has something to do with your problem", so should I fully root my EVO and see if that works?
You should see that screen when coming from a different home screen. You know how when you start some PC applications there is a splash screen that comes up for a few seconds while it loads? That is exactly what that white HTC screen is.
The HTC launcher is a bit more resource hungry than some of the others, so it has to load some stuff into memory every time it starts. However it is supposed to stay in memory so you can open a music app/game/browser/etc. and then go back to home without waiting for it to load.
If you are seeing that screen something has killed the HTC Sense process since you were last on the homescreen. If you are not running something like a task killer, it is probably that whatever ROM you are running has settings that kill apps quickly, this is often done for performance or battery life, but yours is too aggressive.
Only other possibility I can think of would be if sense is crashing and has to restart every time.
I'm having this same issue. I'm running a stock EVO, and HTC Sense will reloading sometimes when unlocking/tapping home.
I have a feeling it might be related to WidgetLocker, as the only "task killer" app I have is System Panel which doesn't auto-kill.
Anybody else using WidgetLocker and having this issue?
Bump. Still having this issue regularly.... anybody else have this with or without WidgetLocker?

Samsung apps: Task manager

See there's another new Samsung app... a task manager.
Have installed and it's pretty nice...
weird it's not showing up in America
are you on Euro ROM ?
i make it a daily habit of checking for new freebies from Samsung Apps
I discovered what I assume to be the samsung Task Manager when I flashed to JM5 /Samset 1.9e. The icon is a little computer tower with a pie chart next to it. Think it came wired into JM5, since its on my second app page WAY before anything that came in Samset.
Honestly speaking, I wouldn't trust it. Not because its a bad app or anything, but in my experience its clunky and slow and uses a lot more RAM than my other task manager, and it can only see actual apps, not services, and finally it doesn't show 'RAM Remaining' it just will tell you (234mb/326mb) which I find to be annoying. If I could get rid of this I would but I can't find its .APK.

They are talking about an update within the Samsung Apps application. Yes, every ROM does have the task manager but this is an update.
I don't understand why you find the RAM display annoying; it shows you how much RAM is not in use. Isn't that 'RAM Remaining' or am I not understanding something?
What do you find clunky about it? The interface seems simple enough and it seems to load everything instantly when ever I press a new tab. I wouldn't use the widget personally since you can just press 'Back' on your phone (multiple times) to exit an application and it won't appear in the task list while giving you your RAM back.
I have had to do 2 factory resets and I am sure it is down to the update for task manager (Android 2.2 firmware). It causes the phone to go into a continuous FC loop on startup just after the big S screen. Can anyone else confirm this on theirs as well please?
I'm honestly more interested in an app that kills all those damn Samsung auto started apps that I never use, but just hovers in the background taking up RAM.
Anyone know of such an app?

yup it was there, now it has been taken off it seems.
Yeah, in the UK... It's not showing in the Samsung Apps anymore but it's installed and seems to work ok, not had any issues since installing it.
After reading various articles on task killers and Android I've stopped using them anyway. Just find this useful for seeing how much space I've got for apps...
i think they figured out many people were complaining about it after the upgrade
possibly a bug that escaped QA
O.K. I have tested exhaustively and can confirm that on my unlocked UK SGS running Android 2.2 as installed via Kies this app 1.14 definitely is the cause of my problems. To reiterate. The phone works OK untill re-start at which point it gets to the big S logo gives a longish vibration and then after about twenty seconds gives two longing'ish vibrations the logo fades and the screen stays blank with the vibrations continuing every 20 seconds or so. I think it is called a "closed loop".
Reinstalled everything and completely set up the same way without this update and everything is perfect. Even have a stereo FM radio :-D
I a noob, where do you go to look at samsung apps?? this is done straight from the phone?

Yes, this is done by the 'samsung apps' app
which comes pre-installed on your phone.

Thanks, I guess my phone did not come with that app (got the Vibrant from Tmo). I can download this app somewhere?
downloaded it yesterday
2.1 stock no probs so far
Mate, the issue is only on the Froyo beta that leaked about 3-4 days ago , so happens on 2.2 only ! IT relates to the pre-built task manager and its 1.1.14 (or whatever) update that appeared on Samsung apps.
I do confirm that IT causes issues sending the phone in continious FC loop, so DO NOT INSTALL IT !
I had to do hard reset last night after installing it. Phone worked great until I decided to reboot. Then it just sat on the "S" and in a few the screen went dark with the phone vibrating every 10-20 secs and touch keys lit.
See posts #5,#10 from Tehpriest - I had the same thingy going on last night and I know of two more ppl having the same
Yes I can cconfirm its deffo not for the 2.2 Froyo that appeared earlier.
I've been through the loop of flashing back to basics and restoring the SGS twice in 8 hours. Teach me not to read about stuff before I hit install.

HTC One X Error: Wallpaper / Productivity has stopped unexpectedly

This is the second time i have to factory reset my phone because of this problem...
This error keeps popping up over and over and over even if i send the error report over.
The first time, i was playing a game called Death Rally and received a call while playing, after i hung up, the phone screen got locked and upon pressing the power button, i did not see the unlock screen (it is a default HTC unlock screen called Productivity).
Second time, i rebooted the phone while listening to songs using Poweramp. After the phone booted, the lock screen was missing.
on both occasions, i was able to access Settings from notifications bar, and when i did get there, the popup (in the third image below) started appearing repeatedly. I sent the error report to htc a couple of times just to stop it from popping up but no luck.
I searched online and have not come across any workarounds for this except a factory reset, which is the solution i resent because i have to download my apps / restore contacts all over again.
Hope HTC fixes this...
Anyone else have encountered this problem? if so, any suggestions on a non-reset solution?
Thanks

Same problem on One S
This exact same problem just happened to me, on my HTC One S though, after receiving an update. It started immediately after reboot. I can stop by going to Settings -> Apps and disabling the wallpaper "app". This doesn't feel like a proper solution, but it seems to work for now - maybe it can work untill a fix is released.
Yeah, i tried that last time this happened to me, i disabled everything that said 'wallpaper' in the apps. But that did not solve the problem. Its good that it fixed (even if temporarily) for you
Now that i have reset my phone for the second time, i have become extremely careful, but i still don't know what will cause this, and at what point

This happened to me again...WTF
Having the same issue here. Running stock 4.0.3, Rogers HTC One X. Doing a factory reset will fix it for awhile but the error just comes back.
I had same problem with EVO 3D, after update to 4.0.3. I tried to reset my phone to factory settings, but error was just delayed for few hours, when it started to appear again. The problem was in application called "weather provider". After disabling that app problem was solved. Try that solution.
I installed after that APEX louncher, and other aftermarket widgets for everyday using. I just don't like htc sense, but i really like their phones.
My wife's phone (HTC one X) had the same message come up today too!
Any ideas anyone on what the permanent fix for this is?
I understand that the factory reset my solve for a while, but there must be an underlying issue here.....
hi
i have the same issue with the phone and some times it keep restarting i dont know how to fix
Wallpaper / Productivity has stopped unexpectedly
The message 'Wallpaper has stopped unexpectedly' kept popping up every few seconds on my HTC Sensation XE but it was directly after I'd moved Skype to the strip at the bottom of the screen. Once I removed it, it was fine.
this worked!
Disabling the weather provider finally worked for me! Thank u so much! That pop up msg. every 2 seconds was annoying. And, trying to maneuver my way to home screen through the pull down panel using the settings. It's terrible that cell phone companies make us do factory resets and force us customers to come up with solutions to fix their problems. My phone has served me well many yrs. despite the battery dieing every hour and 3 factory resets, and constantly turning off the screen and then back on again, and all the sporadic screen clicks by itself, dialing numbers and texting people! I'm finally getting a new phone tomorrow, but at least I didn't lose my information this time. Thank you!

[Q] launcher crash every once n awhile

Hi, im running AndroidNow 6.1 and since i installed ot for the first time(version 3.2) my launcher crushes every once n awhile.
It happens with stock, google, nova or any other launcher - i prefer stock.
What happens really is, when i press home/back to exit an app to the homescreen, there pops the recent apps screen(with no open apps visible)and when i press home again to exit this screen , i see blank home page and then the icons refresh and everything reload. Latet when i open the app drawer i experience a little lag that the icons are reloaded also.
What seems to be the problem? Im rooted and ive got clean master but i dont think its related.
Please help me, thanks.
Am i the only one who experience this?
Happened to me few times. You are using 3rd party launcher?
Ps. You dont need clean master
i use the stock one,but it happned with all . why shouldn't i use it?
Tell me why you should?
This devices does not need that. It does more harm then use.
I love the feature that it prevents apps from starting on boot up.
Do you know how to solve my problem with the launcher crash?
I have the exact same problem.
This happened with the stock ROM and any launcher I tried.
Then I flashed a custom ROM (based on stock though), progressively reinstalled applications and after some time, the problem came again. Then, I progressively froze some applications with Titanium Backup, and now it happens much less than before (2-3 times a day against everytime I press "home").
My conclusion is that, even though that's a launcher crash we see, the fault probably comes from a background application. I'm still searching which one. Did you find something interesting since you opened the topic?
Have you installed hotmail app from play store?

What I did recently was to :
- Disable the application "LIA Informant"
- Disable the application "LIA MrGDBLogger"
- Disable the application "LIA S4URecommender"
- Clear the cache (click on Settings > Storage > Data in cache)
The problem happened several times in a day before, but only occured a few times in weeks since I did this trick. The workaround was probably clearing the cache. But since the problem gradually came back after the last time I reinitialized the phone, I'm still afraid it comes back sooner or later.
I did clear cache a few times now - it always comes back.
Would be great if someone could find a fix for that, because it's very annoying.
The bad thing is that there is no send error report option. At least there would be a starting point with an error info etc.
Have you tried disabling the applications mentionned above?
I (almost) chose them randomly, but it really made a difference for me and the problem doesn't seem to come back.
Done that just now.
Will post back with the results in some time.
Do you maybe know what those apps do ? (I like to know what I'm turning off in case of any other problems)
GDB (in the Unix world) is a debugger. I have no reason to think that this GDB is the same though, I just guessed the problem should come from a system application and this one may be one.
Turning off those apps made no difference.
Was thinking that it may be one of the widgets on the home screen.
Later today, or maybe tomorrow I'll make a list of what I'm using and post it here - maybe this way we'll get whats causing this.
The only widgets I have now are Zooper Widget and Shuttle+.
But honestly, since the problem makes any launcher crash (and I think any application left in foreground when the screen turns off), I believe the root of the problem a system app/optimization, and likely one from LG since not many people seem to complain.
I hope 5.1.1 will come soon to the G3.
Any news on any update ? (not necessarily to 5.1.1)
Udated to 20p yesterday - clean update (just to be sure I've wiped 3 times - 1 before and 2 after the update).
Had a couple of hours of peace, and then it started again.

Lag/crashing/Sense Home not working

Hello there,
I am posting this thread with a problem. Roughly a year ago I purchased the HTC M9 (after 2 very satisfied years using the M7). Up untill about a week ago everything was working fine for me, the only small issue I've had so far is the lack of memory space. Although this issue was easily solved by simply upgrading my device using a Sandisk SD card.
However, since a couple of days my device started overheating very quickly and lagging. Again, I tried to fix this by rebooting the phone and using CCleaner to clean up some of the junk on the device. Now here comes the actual problem: this morning I was simply using the Youtube app to watch a video when my device suddenly crashed (with 50% battery life). I plugged my phone into a charger and booted up the device again but I get a an error report saying "Sense Home stopped working", which means I'm currently unable to use my device. For some reason the HTC report function is bugged aswell, as I cannot seem to send an error report to HTC.
Can anybody tell me what is going on here and how I could solve this problem? I'm very dependent on my phone because of university and work and would like to fix this as soon as possible and preferably not with a hard reset.
Thanks in advance.
Okay I went ahead and tried out something myself based on the following on a thread on androidcentral com titled ""Unfortunately, HTC Sense has stopped" loop" (I'm not allowed to post links yet)
So I went to Apps and cleared the cache of the Sense Home app (without being in safe mode). My phone started working again, but I lost alot of information as apps like Whatsapp and Google Chrome are completely reset and I lost my contacts. Is there any way I can fix this process?
I cleared my cache but my device is still keeping me in that damned Loop. I don't want to lose my pictures or videos. What else can I do? I have an HTC One M9.

"Boot the phone as per normal, ignore the "Sense Home has stopped" message for now.
Pull down the notification drawer,
Tap on the cog to get into settings (once in settings clicking ok on the "Sense home has stopped" message should make it dissapear so you can see what you are doing),
Go into Apps,
Go into Sense Home,
Tap on storage,
Tap on "Clear Data".
This will delete all the data stored with the Sense Home app, not your photos or messages of contacts or anything like that.
You will have to re-configure your home screen(s) though :-/
Once you've done that you should be good to go.....You may need to reboot."
I have the same problem which started at the same time.
Tried everything, clearing Sense cache, system cache from recovery, installed custom recovery and Revolution HD rom its all the same... Everytime after few minutes or hours same problem occurs! Loop Sense crashing, rebooting, wifi turning on and off by itself...
Please someone help
Hi guys, I had the same problem just two weeks ago. Tried cache clearing, factory reset, yada yada yada. Despite all the error report pop ups I managed to use Google app to get to play store, and updated sense home from there. That did the trick. I lost all my contacts and apps but still the phone works again.

Thanks, great solution, apps and everything still there - I was so worried. For me this problem was a show stopper, do I even consider getting another HTC phone?? Why can't HTC modify Home Sense to disable the alert, once initiated, when the battery is fully charged, then this very annoying, irritating and phone disabling problem would just go away?
