There is no 3g video call support for One X. This is a hardware limitation and one cannot overcome it using any software.
You can only make video calls through internet clients like Skype, Gtalk etc.

anyone know if there is a way to use the hotspot @home service with the dash???
is it software, or hardware?
The Dash doesn't have the correct hardware to use the service.

I am guessing that you are asking about UMA to make voice calls over the [email protected] service, which is not available on the Dash.
You can use the internet using Wi-fi, and make calls using skype, but as far as the same voice service that is available with the Blackberry Curve, it is not available to the Dash.
so it is a hardware issue...
thanks for the help
Can a video call be started from GN?
Cheers,
William
I have been using Skype and the quality is quite good
Skickat från min ASUS Eee Pad TF101
I use Google Talk (pre-installed in the GNex) to video call my wife & kid during lunch. Picture quality is good.

I don't think it has the native standard 3G video call as some other phones in the European region have.

Has anyone been able to get video calls to work with the S II X on Telus?
I have the Galaxy Note and the S II X. I can make and receive video calls with the Note, but the S II X does not have the option.
Please note that I'm not referring to video chat (Gtalk, Skype, Fring, etc.). On many networks (Telus, Bell, Rogers & many international networks) you can make native video calls. You do not need an additional app for this. It is part of dialer. You do not even need to setup APN. You do not need to connect to data or Wifi. It is a network function same as regular call. On Telus it's billed same as voice call. So I can make a voice or video call it's the same.
My SII X does from telus just fine. Not on the stock rom though.
What ROM are you using?

How to make 3g video calls like regular 2g calls. other than voip softwares (which uses internet to make calls) is there any app or other dialers which enables the video calling option directly from regular dialer screen. I use htc original firmware not yet rooted.

Can u suggest one to make 3g calls that service provider has given
you realize there is no front camera so the video call wouldnt work very well lol. Ya you need to use something like skype. it wasn't built into any of the software because of the desire/inspire not having a face camera, the demand isnt there.
but, where as viber has an option to make 2g calls over network if user doesnt have viber installed in his handset viber will ask us can we make calls using regular dialer mode. is there any thing of that sort for 3g.
I just bought this phone and i got to know dat it doesnt support native video calling from dialer.
you have to use any 3rd party app
is there any way to enable it?
I hope ASUS enables it in the future update., currently I don't see any option.

Native video calling is sometimes dependent on the service provider, on my LG v20 using Jio SIM I get Video call option, using Vodafone I do not get that option
