Yes, your warranty is voided. You could downgrade to hc and re-lock your bootloader to get your device back to stock (so you can get your warranty back).
how do i downgrade and relock the bootloader
??
Restore HC firmware

1. Reflash to stock A100 ICS firmware. It will restore stock bootloader and recovery. And allow to flash the HC firmware.
2. Reflash to stock A100 HC firmware.
I noticed that Vache's site is down, and I needed to get the HC firmware as well. I was looking online and found this:
http://acer-club.ru/topic/13368-rom-acer-a100-200704-com-gen1/
Will post results after I have completed the downgrade.
when i get into cmw recovery i cant move or select anything ..
tryn to reflash the stock ics firmware it jus automatically loads the cmw recovery .. in which i cant do anything from there but restart the tablet .. can i do this fastboot
If memory serves me right you can fastboot flash a update.zip.

You said you got it installed? Try deleting the file from your SD card
So is this the latest version of ICS for the A100?

I have problems with the phones USB port and I have to send it to warranty. I'd like to install a stock rom, but I can't use these RUU exe things I've been reading about here in the forums.
Is there a way to install a official rom just like custom roms are installed? Just flashing from a zip? I don't have any old nandroids remaining anymore :/
Thanks in advance!
You could flash a stock ROM, but your phone will still have an unlocked or modified bootloader, so the warranty people will know you messed with it. You need a RUU and/or AAHK to revert completely to stock.
I believe there are pd8img's out there that you can flash via bootloader just like you would flash a radio. It should revert you back to stock.

1. Just put the PD98IMG.zip in the SD card. Don't put it in some folder!
2. Hold VolDown and Power to boot into bootloader.
3. Wait a minute and the phone will ask you to flash this image.
4. Navigate to Yes with the volume buttons and press Power to select
5. The flash should begin and when it's done - you're done. You can now reboot!
*I'm not sure if this method will work for all modded HBOOTs but you can try.
This zip is for 3.12.405.1 WWE

That simple? But if i flash stock recovery, how can i do ADB sideload since i doubt i can boot into CM13 on stock recovery?
Anyway, do you have a concrete guide? something safe i can follow, i see many guides and its kinda confusing.
EDIT: Okay I found something, basically flash stock recovery... from somewhere? I guess its in the zip folder of the firmware im flashing (extract it out?)
then reboot into stock recovery mode, choose adb sideload...
enter commands to adb side stock firmware filename.zip?
profit?
Messing with phones is risky..nothing's ever concrete , the risks are outlayed when flashing custom roms and still applies. Heavens knows what might have happened trying to flash raw for a brilliant example !
That outta the way...
Yup , you going right so far except you need recovery.img if on ze550ml .latest recovery for an example for latest fw
Rename latest fw WW- BLA blah fw for example to MOFD_SDUPDATE and put it in adb fastboot folder.
ADB SIDELOAD CMD after booting in stock rec...>
adb sideload MOFD_SDUPDATE.zip
All risks are still applied to you and you only
Ps, if you bought this phone with CM already on...you need knowledge of running fastboot and adb before even contemplating.

LOL true true, I dont disagree with ya... well i was the one who put that phone into CM13 but i gave it to someone, now im trying to revert it back to stock like since Feb as shes just a regular user and CM13 its kinda unstable for her usage...
Okay i downloaded from asus global website .... UL-Z008-WW-2.20.40.149-user.zip
but inside I only see boot.img and droidboot.img... there's no stock recovery image... there's a recovery folder though
\recovery\recovery-from-boot.p
\recovery\bin\install-recovery.sh
How can i extract the recovery img or... im lost at this part... And im also suppose to flash boot.img and droidboot.img right?

Hi,
I have the flickering screen problem with my phone and it is out of warranty so i can't send it back to repair.
I tried upgrading to the latest firmware, tried factory reset, wipe cache, installing google launcher, enabling the HW thing in developer mode and nothing worked.
I read that WW_2.12.40.11 version doesn't have the screen problem and i want to try it, but i wanna be sure i'm doing it the right way.
1) I read that i can't just put the wanted firmware in my phone and install the update but i must also flash the matching recovery to flash the wanted version - is it true?
2) Can i downgrade straight from my version to the lower one because i think the other way around, i need to have higher version for upgrading to the higher version i now have.
3) Where can i find the adb driver for this?
Thanks
You can downgrade via ext sd card using the downgrade version from asus > 52.20.40.196 LP which when installed , reboots to 2.20.40.196LP
When putting WW-UL- 52.20.40.196.zip.zip ,make sure to put an extra .zip on the end in file manager or in sd from pc first and reboot.
If you then put WW-UL-2.12.40.11-user.zip.zip (extra .zip) on sd or in file manager . You might get that to give you notification after a reboot too. Although i have not tested to downgrade that far .
You must use the first 52.20 blah blah fw to initially downgrade first though. Ignore this and you are liable to brick. Here >

OK, it's weird, i did flash the 2.12.40.11 recovery.img to the phone using adb and it was said in the console that the process completed, but now when i enter recovery mode it still shows me 4.21.40.223 version.
OK, I did downgrade with your method and it works great, but when i try to downgrade fro that version to the version i want to try i get error that i cant install the package over the existing newer version.
Just to inform.

If you want to downgrade to such an old version, find the .raw file of that version (search here on XDA) and flash it via Asus Flash Tool.

Hi, thanks i'l try that.
does it matter in what order i flash this 3 files?
Edit: If i already flashed the ROM can i just flash the boot.img and droidboot.img or do i need to do the whole process including flashing the ROM again?
Is your screen flickering problem like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kRuxTefNcKw
If its like that I was told its a LCD hardware problem which gets fixed by replacing LCD.
Update:
Well, I installed firmware 2.12.40.11 and it worked fine for several days but then the screen started to flicker again.
i started to update the devices with OTA updates and then i saw that in firmware WW_2.20.40.174 the screen didn't flicker.
i had further updates and then the screen started to flicker again.
i tried to flash recovery.img, boot.img and droidboot.img but not the device only enters fastboot mode but when i try to enter normal boot or recovery mode, it only comes back to fast boot mode.
any suggestion what should i do to unbrick the phone?
Thanks

I am assuming your boot loader is unlocked.
Power it down. Then hold power and volume down to boot into recovery mode. Download the latest factory image. Then use the flashall bat file to flash it back.
Edit the flashall bat file to remove the -w so you save your data and apps and flash it.
Yes...bootloader is unlocked...I was trying to root/install TWRP....and ended up here...as long as I don't relock my bootloader...I didn't screw anything up....correct?

With the bootloader unlocked you can always get out of these bootloops but it a lot of times requires flashing a new factory image. I have gotten out of bootloops by going back into twrp and doing the factory reset but of course you lose all your data with that. It just depends on what sent you into the bootloop but they can all be fixed by flashing a new factory image. So far, I've never hard bricked a device but I've been in many bootloops!
PS: if you're on the May edition of the OS, then you need the verified boot signer to install twrp or root.
It went into the bootloop trying to flash TWRP...lol

If you're on May, download the verified boot signer, go into bootloader mode, flash the twrp.img so you get to twrp again and reflash the twrp.zip along with the verified boot signer. If you're on June, then that's not the problem but if you have mismatched slots (a/b not the same) you can get into these problems as well.
Im flashing/fixing it with the latest one (June 2017)... guess I need to figure out how to root/custom recovery better.....its no like any of my other Nexus phones...lol

This one is definitely different than my nexus 6 was, the 2 slots, etc. But after you flash it with June, you don't need the boot signer. You've seen some guides about the temp twrp.img first from adb/fastboot, then the permanent twrp.zip next flashed from within the temporary twrp, SU 2.82 is what I install next from twrp. You can find the guides. Having the June factory image on both slots can avoid a lot of problems (at least it did for me).
I can boot the phone up now... But still get the message at startup....
I assumed flashing the stock image would have given me the stock recovery, so I wouldn't get that message anymore..

No, that "can't be checked for corruption" stuff is because you have an unlocked bootloader. It'll always say that when the bootloader is unlocked, just ignore that!
Oh.....what happened to the days of just having a little unlock icon and that's it....lol...
I'll try flashing twrp when I get home... Hope the guide works lol

You're always going to get that message as long as the bootloader is unlocked. I wouldn't worry about that message. My Nexus 6P always booted up with that exact message when the bootloader was unlocked even if I was otherwise running full stock. Google thinks unlocking your bootloader is by itself a serious enough security concern that you can no longer pass safety net on full stock with the bootloader unlocked.

I've found that if you fastboot reboot bootloader, then fastboot boot twrp.img.
Then flash twrp installer zip in twrp and then boot into system, I should work. Then you can download Magisk zip into phone and flash it in twrp. You will have root as super su doesn't work anymore. I'm on a Pixel XL with January 8.1 update. Good luck
