[Q] Exchange Email Notifications - Samsung Epic 4G Touch

Hi all,
I was curious to see if there's a fix for this. I have my work email (exchange) on my Epic Touch. When I view the emails on my laptop, it will sync as "read" on my phone, but the notification light & actual notification in the bar will not go away till i clear it, unlike Gmail which does clear the notification once it syncs that I have read it elsewhere.
My previous phone was a Photon and it used to clear the notification for my corporate email.
Is there a way to fix this? It's not a major issue, but it's really annoying for me when I'm working and i constantly have to clear my phone. The only other option i have is to shut off push while working, but I don't want to do that.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

FWIW, I am seeing this same annoyance too. Previously on my Touch Pro 2 with XDAndroid on it, it would clear itself as well. No idea why it isn't working on this phone.

I have this same issue on my Samsung Galaxy S3!! ANy fixes?
Funny it worked perfectly on my HTC Desire Z/G2

Email Problem, Quits Working Without Warning

Email has always worked perfect up until the last few days. It will randomly stop syncing and I have to power it off and back on for it to fix the problem. Everything looks normal. It will not send or receive though.
Everything else seems to work except the email. It's already caused me quite a few problems with not getting messages in a timely manner.
Any thoughts.
I have experienced the same problem also... i kept wondering for few days why i am not getting any emails and than one day my battery died so when i rebooted i the phone my inbox got tons of emails from few days back... i wish to know the answer too
What email are you trying to sync? Hotmail?

I'm experiencing the same for Gmail. Anybody know of a fix?

I'm having the same, or a similar, issue with Exchange mail. Randomly it won't bother to sync it on push until I open up the mail app. All my Gmail works fine, just this.
I may have found the problem. I took off my live wallpaper yesterday and put a standard one back on and my email hasnt quit working since.
I had the 3D Hyperspace Live Wallpaper, which I really like and hate to lose. I'm still monitoring it but I lost email pretty frequently until I went back to the standard wallpaper so there's a good chance thats the problem.
I'll update with results.
Some more info on my problem and my phone:
I have four yahoo email accounts and one gmail account. My yahoo accounts would stop syncing and nothing you could do would refresh them. Nothing would make them sync other than turning the phone off and back on.
My phone is rooted with sfhubs root which has worked flawlessly so far. Not sure if that has anything to do with it or not.
Well I noticed my Hotmail stopped syncing around the time they made the official Hotmail app. I thought it maybe something on Hotmail side of things not allowing it to work but I guess not. I am not rooted and am all stock but the official Hotmail app works great so I just said forget the other one. Let me know if anyone finds a fix.

My gut feeling is that it stopped syncing because i was " clearing memory" from that inbuilt Samsung task manger... since i stopped using "clear memory" the email seems to sync properly ... maybe i am wrong ... i don't know...
Update:
It's been three days since I took the live wallpaper off. I had no problems for three days...
Until this morning. Email hadnt synced since last night. I had to reboot the phone and the emails came rolling in.
I'm going to put the live wallpaper back on and see how it reacts.

[FIX] Facebook Push Notification

I found a fix that made it possible for push notifications to come through in realtime (for comments, tags etc.). I heard about that BlackBerry simulator solution and this is what i did : I downloaded a BB simulator (for 9300 series of phones or something...basicaly BB 7.0 or so). I logged out the FB app on Android, then i fired up the BB simulator/emulator and i I entered my facebook credentials in the BB's FB app and enabled "push notifications" and i also disabled all email notifications within the app. After that i logged-out and so FB push notifications started coming through immediately on my Samsung Galaxy Try it ,it freakin works! P.s.: i would love to know if it worked for you. And another thing, don't forget to re-login on the FB app on the Nexus and ENABLE NOTIFICATIONS in the Options menu (the first checkmark box just under "refresh interval". Every other things like Event Invite,Messages and Friend Requests don't come through via Push but via refresh interval. Everything else will work through PUSH

Thanks for pointing this out! I've had no issues with push notifications but people in a struggle may find this interesting. Muchly appreciated.
Duff link, you got the full one?

Did this a few months back and its worked for me ever since, on both my incredible and galaxy nexus. It's a shame this is even necessary though. There's so many poor quality apps out there that can handle push notifications, you would think facebook could get it down by now.

thanks so much for this, my girlfriends phone had notifications that pushed and it drove me nuts, i matched all her setting to mine and nothing, i cant believe it takes a blackberry lol. again thanks

[Q] HTML Email Formatting

My new galaxy nexus should be arriving soon but I was wondering if the following problem has been fixed. HTML formatted email, in my current ICS running device, do not show up correctly in the native email client(not the gmail app as I have to use exchange for my work). I always have to scroll to the right and down to view the whole thing. Is there an option to fit the entire email to the screen similar to how the ios mail app handles it? Thanks!
anyone?
Nope, not fixed. Stock 4.0.4 Nexus here, unrooted.
Still have to scroll to the right for some emails and yes, very annoying! This goes for gmail and the stock mail app.
The same applies for CM9 you would have to scroll down and right to centre page your mail, then again, I'm glad there's no lag in doing so unless your 3G takes an era to load.
Thanks folks! Any reason for why this is so difficult of an issue for google to fix. i used to have an old froyo device and thought this would have been fixed by now but guess not.

[Q] Did the Yahoo! Mail app break for anyone else?

It auto-updated last night.
I wasn't able to sign-in until I enabled Yahoo in my sync settings. Previously it worked just fine without being synced.
Now it no longer pushes emails to my phone and doesn't display notifications. Even with sync enabled.
The only way to check mail is to enter the app and manually refresh the inbox.
Anyone else having these issues?
I need this email for work, I have already been late responding to a few emails this morning.
I also noticed that it doesn't push the emails to my phone in real time like GMail does. I get the notification after awhile. I am going to try and find the old apk file. Not sure what the issue is.
hey guys i updated mine too and now push notification is not wrking. can you please share it if you found a working one?thanks
Naw. 2.0.3 hasn't restored the notifications for me yet. I'm running JB as well on my SGS3. The only thing I take comfort in is I got rid of the disgusting purple theme Yahoo put into the new mail app version. Took me a week of work, but I got everything changed to blue and/or neutral gray.
It really bothers me without the push nptofication finally found the old version and now its working again
