[ ROM ] Stock Rooted FD02 System [ ICS / OS 4.0.3 ] - Samsung Epic 4G Touch

This ROM is completely stock with exception that root/busybox is included and it uses a stock, slightly modded kernel. The kernel is modded to have mass storage by default, init.d support and it has an unsecured stock recovery(allows flashing of zips).
All must be flashed through recovery console
Factory reset \ Data format is HIGHLY recommended(use FORMAT ALL attached before flashing)

It's a hit or miss for me. Sometimes the dialer pauses to exit properly so notifications work and sometimes it exits immediately causing the notification bug

Same here, mine never really screwed up constantly, but when it did it seemed to fix itself after the second notification.
slow going on the download, fast at first but now it is starting to crawl....

Did you include fixed repack in rom?

might have to give this a flash.. each leak getting better and better

Did they add the touchwiz animation back in and is scrolling more smoother

According to the OP, the included kernel has the SD fix in it, and has a stock but unlocked recovery that allows flashing unsigned zips...
Never having messed w/ stock recovery -- my question is does it allow nandroid backups or restores, and what about restoring a rogue/cwm generated nandroid (e.g. from an FC24 repack)?

No you cannot make backups from a stock recovery. This is a feature of custom recoveries.

Great news indeed! I am a complete noob when it comes to flashing kernels, or anything for that matter. I have successfully flashed this kernel on the Tmobilestock ROM. Now things do seem to be a alot smoother, not sure if it is a placebo, but what are some things that I should do to ensure I take advantage of the new kernel?
What system settings should I be aware of, or make changes to ensure maximum performance?
Is this ROM overclocked to 1.75ghz by default? Right now benchmarks are telling me its clocked at 1.566ghz.
Any tips or tricks are appreciated, thanks! :victory::laugh::victory:

One really weird thing that I have noticed since flashing the kernel on Tmobile stock, is that calls are not working. I would post directly in the development thread, but I have not met the post count to do so. If someone can move this there, then by all means.
Thanks for any help.

Looks like there is a Super Wipe, and a Cache Wipe. Which of the two should I use?
1. Place on ROOT of your SD card.
2. Boot into Recovery Mode
3. Do a NAND BACKUP!!!
4. Flash DARKSIDE.SUPER.WIPE
5. Stay inside recovery
6. Flash desired ROM.
7. After flashing is complete, Reboot...
8. Done!
So lemme see if I understand the instructions correctly. I should restore to my original backup. Boot into recovery and flash the wipe file. Then while still in recovery, I should flash the kernel? Am I understanding the steps correctly?

I've been running shadow gods rom from 1.0 and I think it's the best out there. I always flashed from version to version using calks modified format and never had a problem. [ROM][ZIP]Stock FK23 Deodexed Rooted Busybox

This is the first ROM that I am posting on XDA. It took a few attempts, but this is now the base I was looking to make. I will still try to support earlier releases as best as I can without recommending users to download the latest fixed version. If all else fails and the issue cannot be resolved, the fixed version is below.
If you do not follow the OP and you end up in a bootloop from flashing with a kernel that is not recommended, I will not help you. Stop flying by the seat of your pants and follow directions.
Flashing this from the repacked recovery will result in a bootloop 100% of the time. Use the recommended recovery!
This is exactly the same as the FK23 tar file with the exception of being deodexed, rooted, and has busybox installed.
This may be used as a base for ROM developers. All I ask for is credit for taking the time to put this together.
This DOES NOT wipe the internal storage.
This DOES NOT include a custom kernel, it comes with the stock FK23 kernel. Once there is a repack, I will add a link in this thread.
This DOES NOT wipe the data partition.

[NEW][KERNEL][REPACK] FL16 with AGAT tREC_v0.3.2 recovery

After countless attempts and many hours of trial and error
I present the FL16 Repack Kernel with new recovery tRec_0.3.2.
This recovery has been compiled with CM10 (JB) source and works better with JB roms/OS.
The repack is not perfect yet but it can be used as daily driver as is.
I'll continue working on it and try to fix remaining bugs.
Now to repack.
What is working:
Backup
Restore
Flash zip files
Wipe Dalvik
Wipe cache
Wipe/Factory Reset
Restore Nand back up created by previous recovery/previous OS
Apps on sd and paid apps problem is mostly fixed.
You can reboot phone, power off from power down menu or from quick boot.
Apps on sd and/or paid apps will disappear only after battery pull and/or when you restore nand back up coming from ICS.
I did perform following tests.
Restore ICS back up from JB kernel/recovery - Restore complete phone booted.
Restore JB back up while running ICS - Not going through in one run. It will restore boot/recovery and bail on system restore. Just boot to recovery from boot menu. It will take you to new recovery. Start restore again and you JB back up will be restored
Flashed ICS rom from JB recovery - flash went thru. Phone booting normally.
Flashed JB (Shadow-God's rom) from ICS recovery - flash went thru. Phone booting normally.
Restored JB back up while running JB rom - restore completed. Phone booted normally. Apps on sd and paid apps are present.
This is a short list of all tests performed thus far.
I know there are quite a few good JB roms and I don't wanna delay release anymore.
So here we go:
AGAT_FL16_repack2.tar
As stated above apps on sd and paid apps issue is arising only after battery pull and/or nand restore from ICS.
In case that happens to you I'll suggest to keep Mobile ODIN and a stock kernel tar handy so if you have to pull the battery you
can flash stock kernel reboot phone and flash repack again.
Hopefully I can fix last remaining bugs soon.
Till than
Enjoy.

[Q] AxisM ROM Question {Solved}

Have any one of you tried the AxisM ROM, it was previously called GalaxyMOD I believe. I usually don't flash Universal ROMs, the only one I tried before this was Hyperdrive which I kinda liked but wanted to wait until the bugs are ironed out but I did give this ROM a try because I saw one of our dev (the awesome grue) on the team members list (team synergy).
The issue is the ROM doesn't boot at all, it's not stuck at samsung logo or anything, I see the samsung logo and it goes blank, nothing happens. Please let me know if any of you guys got it to work. Would be awesome if Grue can make it work for us since he is on their team as well.
Here is the link to the ROM.

Downloaded KT747 and now back to flashing again. I have a slimbean backedup anyway. Will report back if I get it working.
On a sidenote, if I do get it booting but like the other user said have FC's, what other good kernels for TW do we have as alternatives? Agat & Lean Kernel 2.9?
I guess I could try freeza's optimized stock kernel as well.
EDIT: Ok, Flashed AxisM zip, Selected Sprint option and the dev picks option for apps, unchecked reboot option, flashed KT747 latest (4-11 I think) and it booted fine. No FC's until now. Phone and data working, data is a bit slow than usual though. Haven't tested anything esle but it looks pretty sweet.

And right when I was almost high on AxisM listening to Deftones Tempest, SystemUI started FC'ing.
I'm gonna try few other kernel options over the day and see if anything works better.

It's not an at&t only ROM. It's a universal ROM, like Hyperdrive that you can see on our forums. And I've been running it since yesterday morning and it's running pretty well. There is an another one called Synergy ROM, so 3 roms AFAIK that you can flash on any carrier S3.
