having used icecream sandwich on my hd2 I liked the "blue" look. is there a theme avaliable for this?
No, only way is de-sense your rom. The phone is new and devs will work on it. Wait a few days or a week and the modding will begin.

You can run nova launcher and widget locker for a near ics look.

If you are rooted and want the ics lockscreen then delete htcidlescreen.Apk... /system/app... Make sure you do a backup just in case... You know... Nandroid

I don't have an htcidlescreen.apk file in the /system/app folder
It works, i deleted all the following
Code:
idlescreen_shortcut.apk
IdleScreen_People.apk
IdleScreen_Photo.apk
IdleScreen_Weather.apk
Idlescreen_Base.apk
Idlescreen_productivity.apk
and restarted. I now have the ICS lockscreen, pattern lock etc. Just need to work out how to disable the lock screen so i only have the pattern lock...
I did an "uninstall" on those files using Super Manager. Just restarting the phone now

Uh-oh! Did you backup? you'll still be able to get into recovery to reflash or adb should connect during boot to push the files back!

Good stuff. Not sure why that didn't work for you but it's not actually that useful yet as the htc dialler and alarms won't integrate with the stock lock screen...
Dunno. I guess I should just be a little more patient and wait for a vanilla ICS ROM.
anyone can re-theme Sense 4.0 to have blue ICS looks (maintain Sense Overlay)?

I guess I'm looking for a Power Options MOD. I was hoping I wouldn't have to change my ROM. The only MOD I found was for EL26 and I have EL29. I am assuming it won't work. I'm kind of a noob, but not really. I wish I knew enough to write one up!

That's what I was kinda getting at Epix... Socalborn, like Epix said, why not just install a widget or app to give yourself reboot options. I use a widget called system info widget by Jason Calhoun, it has the option to add a reboot button to your home screen. Plus it reboots way faster than using the power button mods.
Using an app is the easy way, lol. It's just more fun doing it the hard way. I'm pretty sure an app is going to be my only option. I was looking for a battery percentage MOD too and found one but it isn't updated and got me stuck in a boot loop, good thing I made a backup. CWM Touch is sick. Thanks for your replies guys!
I wish someone would make up a bunch of MODs for the EL29. It's just more fun being able to completely customize rather than using a ROM. I was going to use Calkulin's ROM but there are a few things I don't like such as the numbering of the bubbles on the home screens. Shouldn't the middle home page technically be numbered one, haha? Thanks again!

Also give nuthin but the honey theme a spin, it has nice clear glass blocks for pagination dots. No numbers. And the theme is saawee. If you are sick of ICS crap like me..llooll.
Would it be better to use Calkulin's ROM with the Nothing but the Honey theme? In terms of speed and smoothness?

Because it's touch wiz and I love touchwiz seriously. Plus I can pinch to zoom out with the Samsung one where as the crappy stock one u can't also the aestheics and also has split screen mode. Some people actually like oem skins don't think we all automatically love stock cuz its pure android. Yea stock is nice but it lacks features in some areas
Also not doing any modding just trying to install a simple apk but the stupid things is not letting me. Also for some reason in cwm or through rom manager its not letting me fix the permissions its says "there was a problem running the command" or something like that.. Weird

Many, the most popular are NOVA Launcher and APEX Laucher, very customizable too And yes, you can remove rosie.
Ok,thank you,i will download that zip and flash it,hope it works on stock ROM.Doesn't matter if is odexed right?
I am using Go Launcher but i hate the fact that the notification bar cannot be modified,i hate the sense notification bar and i love the way the new bar looks on galaxy nexus.
Sorry for slow reply but I think the only way to get a different notification bar is custom rom are you on jellybean or ics?

Hi all, by "Rosie" do you mean Sense? Just grab the ROM CLEANER 3.0 and flash from CWM. Then go thru the simple Aroma affair selecting "No Sense" and select an alternative launcher rom the list. Easy peasy. I used this about a month ago been on HoloLauncher HD aiming for as much AOSP as possible. Very very happy with ROMCLEANER even lets u deactivate the Sense Lockscreen! Cool,i have one question since you've tried the ROM CLEANER.After you used the ROM cleaner, did the Status Bar(Notifications Bar) remained Sense?
Yes actually u r correct the status bar never alters, today I updated to Jellybean (3uk h3g) and after unlocking bootloader and flashing touch recovery and JBsuperSU, I am now running ROMcleaner3.0 NO SENSE again and I would say the sense bar this time was more transparent whereas now it is black. Maybe something to do with Holo Launcher theme.

Hey folks,
Though it was about time I contributed something here, but I'm no developer, so here's a boot animation I made for myself.
I installed Windows 8 recently and have learnt to like its sleek, über-minimal design. Functionally it's pretty poor on a desktop, but it sure looks nice.
Here's a demo (for some reason, the editor refuses to embed a YouTube player, so this link will have to do):
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dr6O6AZ5ESU
You can download it here:
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/25509680/c/bootanimation.zip
And here's a landscape version, as requested (you'll have to rename this one to just "bootanimation.zip"):
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/25509680/c/LSbootanimation.zip
Installation instructions are as usual;
Place the .zip in /data/local, make sure permissions are set to rw-r--r--, and reboot to see the prettiness.
Hope you all enjoy it.
Really? I been installing boot animations to system/media.
Did I miss something?
Either way nice boot animation. I'm going to use it.

You can install to /system/media too, however when you update your ROM it will be overwritten. If it's in /data/local it'll remain even when you update, and will only be overwritten if you wipe /data
And thanks! Glad you like it, it's my first foray into real design. I'll have a landscape version up soon.
