like in the title whats next for htc after the release of the one x series ?
will their be a new phone comes november ?
The place where i live, half of the shops don't even offer one x so it's pretty much too early for htc to release information about their next product but one thing i can tell you is that upcoming devices (2013) would be based upon tegra 4 (code name wayne) with a support of directx 11 (you can hope to get a ps2 emulator or maybe an xbox one as well). You can try searching on google about it.
ya one x is not available everywhere at the moment but we all know the specs , my question is what direction spec wise the fone will take spec wise , continue with the no sd card? are we likely to see a dual core phone again ? will they all be quad cores ? will all phones have nfc integrated? will the ram be doubled to 2gb ? will battery life improve ?
I think that the htc one x will be htc's flag ship for some time because it has all the latest technology. Right now they offer the same as other flagship devices with android the only diffrence is htc have a good design on thier products i have the htc desire hd i got it for my birthday and this birthday i upgraded to s2 which feels like a downgrade you see the onl think the s2 was praised by was speed but consumers tgat buy things from todays technology market look at few main points design, camera, popularity, price and battery life and the htc design is good the camera is good price is good for a flagship it is imprtant for it to be epensive so it looks like a premium product. It is also avalible in all major networks and the battery life is good enough for a day.
What i dont understand avout american consumers is they say thier too busy to charge but at the same time they have enough time to drain thier phones battery which is stupid. Htc have done well with htc one x you see people would rather have a good all round phone like the iphone which is good in every aspect then have phones like s2 which is all speed design is crap samsung take the piss out of all 4s for looking the same but samsung do not realise all thier galaxy series are the same LOL. So wht im trying to say is yeah s3 will be faster but htc one x is a good allrounder and this is the hardest thing to achive thats why only apple get it right until the One X. The next flagship htc will be when new tech is out meaning new android, cpu, and a better display.
People brag on about s2 having a briliant display but is got a blue tint the ppi is so bad the desire hd looks better and the colours yeh right since when has samsung ever made the best tv with the best colours samsung never make new technologies but rather follow and copy companies like apple, sony, htc, pioneer etc are the real brands i dont hate samsung but everthing is cheap even the company brand image is cheap. So realty is its not about benchmarks or best camera but a good allrounder but the one x exceeds 4s limits by not only being a good allround but having the best display you see amoled colour is good but thats it slcd is good in every aspect except black levels which arent a major concern to me. It all has the best graphics compared to other companies over all one x is excellent other phones are faster but you should compare everything the only thing the one x doesnt have is good speakers compared to 4s which is pretty loud.

I don't agree here. The DHD has the same ppi as the Galaxy S2. How can the SGS2 be worse?
If anything, its much better.

the s2 has a blue tint and you need to get used to it
i rather have a normal color without the blue super screen

you're my hero. I hate it when the Samsung fans keep calling people idiots for not loving that stupid bluish tinge and the artificially contrasted colors ("colors pop!"). Where I live I have never seen any Samsung SII w/out that tinge and it's very obvious. No exaggeration.

There's a big fat chance that there will be nothing after the One X as HTC will go into insolvency next year thanks to the One X being bad-mouthed by disgruntled consumers (aint they always the loudest) and fan boys of other brands (mostly Samsung- I can testify that since I have seen pretty much all reviews about the One X).
Sorry to self-promote, but i made a video comparing the two, and would love some feedback. Cheers.

A bit harsh. I'd rather see this on the home page than yet another duplicate thread on flickering, gaps, yellow dots, and battery life. A lot of GN owners are looking at the One X and OP went to the trouble of actually creating and contributing content. You?
And the GN is far from a Toyota. It's got an older processor but the fact that it runs AOSP and has the biggest dev community on the forum means it has a lot of life left in it. The GSM version's also available for $399 directly from Google making it a good value.

Lol not really as the nexus browser is faster than the one x's. A Toyota corolla with a V12 engine
OK I'm the one who made a switch from Nexus to one x. I can feel the difference.
I love the development community in Galaxy Nexus but this phone is amazing. I'd have to say that when galaxy Nexus came out 5 months back it was amazing, now one x wins.

Probably the worst comparison ever. Ferrari to a toyota would be like the One X to the One V.............
I'd put this more of like a Ferrari 458 vs an Audi R8 with both having their pros and cons.

It'd be sad if it didn't win.......a flagship phone coming about a half year after the Galaxy Nexus, it better win haha
i sold my GS II about 5 weeks ago and considered the Nexus, but i think the next one will be by Motorola for some reason. i also noticed that the dev section was too large to look through all at once, so i'd rather be checking it from the beginning. if my One X arrives in full working condition, then i'm going to be happy. the sound has to be better than the GS II and if the audio in video is too bad to hear with music, then i'll just buy a camera.
If we're going to use a car analogy, the Nexus is kind of like a Caterham or Lotus Elise. Modest power, but very lightweight. The One X is like a big BMW. Great top end performance, but takes a bit to get it going.
Each to their own!
I liked the video. I've never been a fan of the Amoled colours and this video really highlights it. Much more natural looking colours on the One X, its definitely got the best mobile phone screen by a large margin.
Only problem with the video is it was shot on an iPhone, shame on you
I own a Nexus and a One X. If the One X was the flagship Google phone it would be far better than the GN. The GN is a great phone but its slow and that is just about the only negative thing I can say about the GN. I have nothing bad to say about the One X besides HTC Sense.

The galaxy nexus is definitely not slow. It might be slower than the One X yes but it certainly isn't a slow device.
The Galaxy Nexus is a great device, as are all the Nexus devices. That's the point of them...to push the Android handset standards forward. But, I don't think it's a fair comparison.
The One X is the top dog, for now. We are all early adopters and a good number of us probably spent more on the phone than we should have...just like the early adopters of the Galaxy Nexus (I remember it going on expansys-usa for like $800). Currently, the Galaxy Nexus remains a great choice if you don't want to be tied down to a carrier. At $399 I think it's probably the best value choice when it comes to buying an unlocked device.
As far as development, yes the Nexus undoubtedly has tons of development going on for it, as do and will all Nexus devices. However, I think the HTC One X will at least equal it in dev activity, as it is such a promising platform.
I managed to get a One X today in a trade for my GN + $100.......a steal for me haha. GN is every bit as fast as One X, maybe better in some parts.
but yea, One X browser is definitely a bit laggier with that text rewrapping crap, ruins the flow.
Also, screen flickering issue is a bit annoying on light greys....hopefully a software issue. Praying battery life can be optimized with Tegra 3 and that stupid power saving core. As of now, i'm expecting the worst in terms of battery.
Sense has some bugs....non-sense widgets are laggy when scrolling thru them on home screen
phone in general is great though, digging the unibody design. Lets see if I can stay happy with battery, if not....will try and trade for an S4 One X

I did an even trade for Galaxy Nexus on craigslist and I think I got a flawless device. No issues with it!
Only thing I miss about GN is Google wallet. Can't seem to get it to work on one x. It perfectly worked on gn.

I have also made the step from the Nexus to the One X. In CF Bench you really see the difference. It's almost dubbel the score of the Nexus. I loved the Nexus community and I did build CM9 odexed on my own. The browser is not really a problem as you can download Quick ICS browser from Play store and you have the same browser as on the Nexus with the same speed. MIUI and CM9 is just around the corner so it won't take long and we are up to the best phone on earth. Also the screen is so much brighter than the Nexus screen. It's your decision but I always have to have the latest greatest...
Well initial thoughts on battery are that its absolutely ****ty....like 15 min of screen time with 9-10% loss......tegra 3 is starting to turn out as bad as I thought

I actually like the browser, the way the text wraps around the screen size. makes reading much more of a pleasure at the expense of only a split second resizing time.

thats strange, i've found the battery life to be really great, much better than my old sensation. With moderate use (say at least an our of screen use, plus 10 calls, and an hour of music at the gym), Its still at at 65% when i plug it in when i go to bed.
great video put for me the one x is the winner
I find the battery life on the HOX way better than the GNEX.

I define slow as noticeable lag in the normal operation of the device. I'm not comparing it to the One X, since i don't think that is fair. The GN is definitely slow even in comparison to raining champs among the dual cores.
So as many of you have heard HTC bring out some new devices tomorrow. I'm personally annoyed at this, many people alike have shelled out for the amazing HoX and now a new batch is coming and is going to replace them. What's wrong with the one x and why do they need new phones?
the devices r being announced for the USA, since they still didn't officially release a tegra3 one X in there
so they r re releasing the one X with LTE support and a 5inch phablet, some tablets and windows phones
nothing to worry about, the one x is not being replaced, just refreshed
kinda like the sensation XE and XL release

Oh dear, how do you now, they will present smthng replacing over beast? For sure, they'll show us a phablet, a win phone and, PROBABLY, one x+. And as it was said many times, it looks like it will be hox with v3 cpu. And it is not bad, but good, because all the software will be pushed there, will be ported to our phone.
Now look at Sammy two years ago. There are 3 galaxy s only in Germany (i9001 9000 9003), which came in one damn year. Was it bad for original galaxy s users? Hell no.
I the only negative aspect is, that you'll have to confirm, that u don't have the "latest and the greatest". But if you really up to that, than grab an iphone or do something with your ego.

u have an sgs3 and a Note 2, they don't kill each other, u pick the size u like, a phablet is up to people tolerance because the size is above acceptable limits for a phone
u also had a sensation XE vs sensation XL, they also didn't replace each other
also if u want tegra gaming u have to go with the one X and not the phablet, its simple really
just a galaxy note competitor, they released the s4pro in a 5incher so not to upset one X users or replace it
pretty clean job if u ask me
much better than the LG optimus G killing the LG optimus 4x
despite all our wishes they still have to compete with the android aggressive spec race, but in my eyes they r still doing a cleaner line up than everyone else
their tegra3 one X is actually the most well mantained flagship they ever released, it will not be replaced before next year MWC event

Great points there, probably right. We will soon find out!
Why on earth would anyone be bothered if there is an upgraded HOX type phone. How does that effect a current HOX user?
It's because every company needs to make money to keep the company alive, it's using your common sense.
Today it's hox, tomorrow it's something else...., technology goes very fast. You buy it today and tomorrow it's old, same as with cars.
Soon as you bought and walk out the shop it's worth a lot less, it's business.
So tomorrow htc would release a new android phone or windows phone ?
Omg...why people cryning about new phones??? This is new to me. WELCOME ALL NEW PHONES...

B. It's better than last year when I bought an incredible s only for it to be completely made obsolete by the sensation in 2 months.
C. There probably won't be any One X killers out there tomorrow. The one x+ is simply an upgrade that US users should look forward to. Windows phones may be unveiled, but......... They're windows phones (aka Suckage majoris)

The new hox + is the same phone, but using the latest tegra 3 chipset, which is clocked a bit faster. It uses exactly the same drivers and runs the same games, just a tiny bit quicker. I don't even think HTC are upping the ram or the battery (which imo is stupid).
It is a tiny update of the CPU only. No need to update just yet

If its the same why bother releasing in it at all ?
This is good news for us. More exposure of the Tegra 3 chipset in the US will mean more devs working on roms and perhaps even a better chance of achieving s-off. The stock rom should also be relatively easy to port.

So we all know the news of the new nexus, the 16gb costs the same as the HTC one x if I sell mine. All of the internal specs seem great I'm not bothered about sd card, non removable and lte. I just wanted to know is anyone else was buying it by trading their hox in, I just care to know if the camera quality, screen quality, DAC are better then the hox because these are the main reasons why I would buy it since the hox has bad output speaker, battery life, overheats and I don't what a phone with a worser screen then my current or I'll feel like I've downgraded instead.
The camera that is used is a Sony bsi camera in the nexus 4, which is the same as the iPhone 5's. I do like the hox camera but it is behind the iPhone 5, s3 and lumia 920 in terms of quality and colour reproduction. I was watching the verge video which stated that one of the main people behind the nexus 4 said they spent a lot of time making it good at low light shoots which the hox suffers in. The one x+ is good too but I don't like the 40nm CPU and the material used as it gets dirty to easily. So what do you lot think is it worth the trade or are you happy with the hox?

I am also so very tempted to do this, I really like the Nexus devices and I've had it with HTC !!
How would you sell yours? Ebay? And then purchase the Nexus 4?
What happens if I've got 16 months of a 2 year contract left? Could I just sell the HOX, buy the Nexus 4 and then pay the contract for the minutes? etc?
Yeah I'm trading...I think..well till I read the reviews

I'm going to try Gumtree first, then eBay then buy a N4 with the money.
You can put your sim into any unlocked phone and continue paying your bill as normal.
Hmm I'm happy with my HOX but I want the latest and greatest. The major selling point is that it is a nexus device.
I could recycle my HOX for £195 that wouldn't leave me far off the money needed, but I'm not sure its worth it.
My one X does everything I could possibly want at the moment.
If the N4 had LTE capability, maybe I would be completely swayed.

I'm broke, but selling my HOX should cover most of the cost
I absolutely love my HTC One X, it's a great machine,
but I'm unhappy what is happening in this device section.
People are ignoring forum rules, no respect among each other, moaning about the device, comparing it with other manufacturers and so on.
Jelly Bean rocks on HTC One X, battery live is awesome and the rom flies.
I've see the Nexus 4 video but I don't like the design of the machine and the OS has some new stuff but not so impresive to my opinion.
Anyway if I sell my HTC One X, I'm going back to Microsoft, the HTC 8x or the Nokia 9200 are looking great.
I still doubt to choose between those two phones because the Nokia has a Carl Zeiss lens but also the HTC 8x seems to have a amazing camera with new technology.
So probably one of those machines will be my next phone.
Shame to hear that Leo.
Hope you can stay with your One X and also you can get a W8

im with you buddy..selling my phone and going for the Nexus 4...will be my first Nexus so looking forward to it...just need to sell this bad boy first though
For me HOX is amazing phone. Solid in hand, looks amazing. I really do not understand why battery life is bad .. i am having 48h with daily use.. at some point even more. With that kind a battery and stock rom 2days+ is great, isn't it? 3~5% battery loss in deep sleep (night time) 8~10h.
Agree that Nexus 4 should be good, better than HOX performance/camera wise. Still like the looks of HOX more than N4.
For a quad core beast... what do you think?
The previous single core phones I owned even couldn't make a full day without charging.

Go for the Nexus 4. Any Nexus device is so much better than an hTC device. Always up-to-date sources, working drivers, best support. hTC just lost it along the way.

Just don't expect an HTC ONE X - grade screen.
On the Nexus 4, whites aren't white, more like very soft gray.
I have a Galaxy Nexus and am thinking of switching to a One X. Not sold yet, though, because of the device's speed and Android's ugly apps. Thinking of iPhone 5 (but am not rich so can't afford it) and Lumia 920 (same).
I bought my Xperia S last year in May, and unfortunately I'm very upset with the phone, the design is very good but battery cover started moving in 3 months after that soft touch on the battery cover became glossy and not soft anymore,I had to buy one from Amazon, now looks as new. As for the phone it's very laggy, luckily I don't have any yellow tint or other problems with the phone, the major problem is dust coming through camera hole and touch buttons at the bottom sometimes lag. So I want to get rid of SONY Products once and for all, I don't even wont the new Xperia Z, because I know that it will disappoint me soon, I had almost 20 Sony Ericsson Phones including X10 and Arc, and I got disappointed in all of them, I was thinking of HTC one X+ but in the end I understood that there is nothing special in it, the best choice for performance and style would be Nexus 4, because it has great CPU, GPU, Design, Camera, it's the best phone for it's price. And if someone has an opinion about this please feel free to comment. I'll appreciate your help!!! :cyclops:
If you want an opinion... at least ask for a realistic challenge!
Nexus 4 is comparable to Xperia Z, Galaxy S3... not with Xperia S.
It is completely ridiculous to compare a model from 2013 with one from 2012, doesn't make any sense.

Xperia z is the only one of those phones thats from 2013 haha.....
Anyways... Nexus 4! Theres not even a debate. Aosp, great specs, gigantic dev community, haha I wish I had One.
Unless lte is a deal breaker of course.

Nexus 4 is the best phone in Android developers community:
Not expensive, good specs, lots of resources!:good::good::good:
I really wish N4 is available in my region:crying:
Get the Nexus 4... Its not available officially in India and unofficial (online store) price is too much.... I would have bought it if it was available here.
Nexus 4 is better in almost every way compared to XS. Every tech site gave it a high score..

I was obviously referring to S4...
But the rest remains...
For me the choice would also be Nexus 4
Thank you everyone for your opinions! I'll definitely go for Nexus 4 and forget SONY forever.
Go for nexus 4, but dont forget about sony forever
who knows maybe next will be sony nexus 5 or 6. :good:
Don't even go near the xperia s!
Look at what's happening with just jelly bean update.
Xperia s is worst my friend bought it 2 months ago now he wants to sell it I asked him the reason but he is always numb. Its led flash is not bright as compared to my sgs2. Nexus 4 is immortal. If you have few more thousands to spend go for htc butterfly or droid dna.

Gor for Nexus 4!
I got fed up with this sony mobiles. My xperia s not yet completed 7 months. It already died. I got it from UK now i cannot get the replacement also. It was already went two times for service. What the F mobiles it is. My previous mobile motorola is way better than this one. Don't go for beauty Look for how much it worth for long life.
Yea, you are right, just waste of money, you buy Xperia S in two weeks comes out Xperia S something with almost same price but with better performance, this drives me crazy! In 2011 I bought Xperia Arc, and Arc S came out in 2 weeks without announcement and I had to live with it. Don't trust sony!!!
Dunno what's with you guys I've been a Sony user for the past 10 years and never had problems with em.I've had the x8 which was great and also the arc S (smart phone era). 4 months ago i bought the S and so far it has been rock solid.
