After upgrading to Schapps' WM6 rom, i didn't like my connection icons at the top of the screen only having a link to the wireless manager. I followed the guide below to restore the previous functionality:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.phpt=294987&highlight=flight+mode+bubble
However, while the flight mode link works, the "turn on wifi" link is broken, it turns it on but won't display "turn off wifi" and won't let me turn it off. Why is this broken, and is there a reg hack to let me fix it?
Also, WM5 let me display both the signal icon, the 3G icon and the wifi icon all at the same time. Now the 3G icon 'morphs' into the wifi icon. Why has this behaviour changed? Is there a way to keep WM6 but make the connection icons behave like WM5?
this has been a bug since the first release of WM6 so I take it your new to the game. as of right now the only fix is the wifi bubble fix cab. search and you will find it. also the link you posted don't work.

Okay, thanks for the heads up. Are microsoft aware of the issue and do they intend to fix it? Also the link works if you delete the space near the end of bubble. I was typing this on my Hermes and for some reason the cut and paste is screwing up.
Just out of interest, is this bug discussed anywhere? I've spent ages searching but not found much.
Edit: Does this bug also include the fact the 3G icon no longer is displayed whenever wifi is used? WM5 definitely displayed both at the same time.
i upgraded from wm5 to wm6 and the batter powerbar that was on the main screen has gone does any one has the application or know where i can get it please?? (phone keeps dying of juice can't keep track of it! )
also i lost my vodafone pay as you go settings for the orbit, mms and internet someone help please!!!!
i am not sure how to enter the CAB. files in the xda
Hi all,
my phone shows something I can't google.
When turning on the device, or - thats really worse - every time the phone looses connection and searches for providers, it falls back to T-Mobile germany, which is in Austria quite obviously not present.
Then it throws a Warning-message (even when in sleep mode) stating that
"For roaming services additional costs may occur"
Original German "Für den Roaming-Dienst fallen wahrscheinlich zusätzliche Kosten an".
The phone is not locked but branded.
This feature is annoying because the phone is inactive while showing the message and I regularly miss calls while driving.
Haven't found anything yet, might a flash to a non-branded ROM help??
Has anybody some ideas, haven't found anything in the registry yet.
best regards & thanks in advance,
Reinhard
Hi there,

You will need to supply information as to which ROM you are using.
On my stock Tmobile US ROM, I don't get this notification.
I use the latest HTC ROM (6.5) with Sense 2.5 but I had this notification on every ROM I had installed (6.1 and the 6.5 from November)
to explain it once more. when I go in my underground garage (where I have no radio coverage) and I stay there for 2 minutes, then the notification comes which says: "no connection possible".
I would like to disable this, but in Software there is no possibility.

This sounds more like you phone is trying to make a data connection, rather than a phone connection. I do get this alert when there is no phone service available - but only if I try and go online for some reason. Are you using some applications that automatically connect to the Internet?
yes, the weatherapplication, active sync, etc.
and I think you are right, regarding the data connection. is there any possibility to switch off this data connection notification?
thx and regards

does anyone have an idea?
Youre probably going to have to edit your registry if you want to keep your weather, etc running and disable the notification. Justt google "windows mobile registry editor" and im sure youll find it. After installing it comes the fun part. You get to search your registry for the value that controlls that notification, it will have a name indicating the function, something like "DataConnectionNotification" or something similar, and its value will be 1. You will want to change it to 0. Findinf it will be the tough part, theres a ton of folders in the phones registry, and some of the names of the values can be kinda cryptic. But you should be able to find it with a little time and common sense. I would start my search in HKCU/Software/HTC/builtin/ril (might not be exact path) and if its not in there, expand your search. Maybe someone will be kind and post exactly where it is in your registry, I cant search rt now Im on my phone
Thx for the advice
the only thing I found was on:
HKCU/Software/HTC/ConnectionSetup
there I changed the value "Enable Autonotify" from 1 to 0
but it seems not to be the right one since the notification is not gone...
it would be nice if somebody could help me finding the right registry entry?

previous firmware was 1.26.401.1 as i remembered hamdir.. now on 1.28.415.9
does it support arabic in text and email now?
Thanks for the news!
does it support arabic in text and email now?
the old version supported Arabic in browser but in text and email the letters were separate (not connected) and it was from left to right. Is this fixed now in both text and email?

Khaled,
here you are the update..
http://www.4shared.com/zip/qWricTy8/OTA_ENDEAVOR_U_ICS_40_HTC_ARA_.html
BUT
you have to check first if it works with your ROM or not i dont know maybe u can ask some one who knows.
backup your data first in case you are forced to make Factory data reset
if you don't know how to make the reset just ask

That's the way to switch between keyboards in ICS.
I still suffer from the WiFi Sleep Mode Bug!!
Can you confirm it is still there?
Problem in brief, as I encounter it before and after the update:
Enable Wi-Fi and connect to my WiFi router's access point.
Leave the phone to sleep, or lock it
after exactly 15 minutes, the wifi gets disconnected
The mobile data shoots in and connect
Mobile data disconnects
after 20 minutes, I wake phone up, and check status bar for no data connections at all
The mobile network then kicks in
The wifi awakes and kicks in, the Mobile data goes off making way for WiFi
The problem is, I get no data dependednt notifications while my phone is asleep: Whatsapp, Twitter, Facebook, Emails ...etc

there's an option for the auto-disconnect (switch between WiFi networks or Mobile data when data transmission is weak) even if you select keeping your WiFi always on
did you check that?
hope this help!

Sure I did,
no go,
I did everything from enabling "Best WiFi Performance" to assigning a static IP to my phone.
Question was, did you encounter the issue on your phone?

The Arabic Keyboard is not an HTC original developed pack.
It has been outsourced and added to the FOTA rolling to the Middle East and Africa region (MEA) only.
Just like before on previous HTC Models.
The news on the OneX, is that it comes with Android 4.0 (ICS) out of the box.
ICS NATIVELY supports Arabic reading and encoding.
Before the FOTA has rolled to my phone, there was no Arabic keyboard.
I downloade a very decent, clean and ads free keyboard from PlayStore called GO-Key board...
It will do the trick I can assure you,
I find it more enhanced than the one included in the FOTA.
Hope this helps...
If I set my device language to Arabic then I cannot download anything from the market :S it seems that they changed the SD card destination to arabic also, so now it wont install anything from the market unless I revert it back to english :S
