Just unlocked and Rooted my phone and added a custom ROM (Dark-AOSP) But now I dont have any service from my provider any ideas?
Don't double post in General and Q&A..... I'll respond here too.
I'm assuming GSM? Have you gone into your Settings > More > Mobile networks > Network operators, and checked your provider? And then setup your APNs?
Check setting-about phone-baseband.
there is no baseband

That's what I was thinking too, the APNs.
Well it says Baseband:Unknown and I cant even check my Network Provider, When i was Flashing the Rom and error came up :asset failed:samsung.update_cdma_modem(package_extract_file"Radio-cdma.img"))
Try flashing your radio.

Bingo. Looked like it from the error he got.
OP, you need to completely nuke that device and re-flash something GSM.
Anything equivalent to darkAOSP?
I would first flash back to stock. The image is found here: http://code.google.com/android/nexus/images.html
If you don't know how to do that there are many resources in this forum to walk you through it.

Don't need to lock the bootloader. Just download and flash the GSM images to get back to stock and make sure everythings working. Then you can load the GSM ROM of your choice.

So I just got a new unlocked Galaxy Nexus that I'm using it with Koodo and for some reason, when I try to look at the weather using network and not GPS, it doesn't work! What's wrong with my phone, is it the carrier? What should I do if I don't want to root my phone? Thanks a ton

Update to 4.0.4 and see if that helps. Just download the .zip, flash clockword mod recovery and apply from sd via CMR. No root needed

I've heard though that wi-fi is not on the baseband but on the kernel instead, so that won't help.
I tried a couple of different basebands (UGLC1, UGLA4, XXLF1) and none of them helped the wifi reception. Going back to ICS 4.0.4 did.
The thing is that I'm already on ics with akosp and my wifi reception is pretty terrible. I also am using Franco nightlies #196 with 384 gpu

*facepalm* Seriously people read before you dole out your half witted 2cents
All of my experience is flashing on CDMA, but to my understanding flashing a GN2 on CDMA is exactly the same as GSM. Make sure you only flash the sprint variant ROMS, but other than that you don't have to take any precautions.
BUT you dont get to have data while talking on the phone anymore. Unless there is that sweet workaround with LTE. I'm in a 4g free zone so can't confirm or deny this.
Do I need to reactivate my phone after each flash or is it similar to with a sim card and just flash and go?

You would use activation like changing a sim card - triggers the phone to go out and grab its new phone number, GPRS logins, etc.
"Update profile and PRL" are what you should be doing on flashes, expecially if you flash a new modem.

I flashed a new modem last night, didn't update profile or PRL. Works fine.
Changing ROMs is as simple as changing sim cards. If your phone was activated before, a new ROM isn't going to change that. This includes AOSP ROMs, when they arrive.
Thanks for the replies. Now I just have to get over the differences of HTC and Samsung. Didn't have anything like Odin or whatnot for HTC, but did have weird bootloader issues. Thanks again.

Yeah, it will work fine. Modem rom contains the PRL, or at least it did on the e4gt. Flashing a new modem may leave you with an older PRL.

Ok. Maybe I didn't make my point clearly. I was talking about best practices over time.
For example, the modern you flashed has PRL56009 which is the newest ATM. Great.
In a year, if you flash this modem again, you'll be back on 56009. Even if the new PRL is 56123.
Make sense?
My general rules:
When flashing roms, only update prl and profile if you notice a loss of data speed or connectivity issues.
When flashing modems, update the prl and profile.
Samsung modems were new to me when transitioning from HTC. Common thought is the performance of different modem versions is dependent on location and/or individual phones. You will flash roms and modems independently.

My point was I had manually flashed the corporate prl previously, which I don't think was included in the modem. 55009 is the current standard prl.
I'm not trying to argue with you. I don't claim to understand how modems and prls work. Just sharing my experience.

I think with 4.1.2 tw ROMs it should show it, I tried it with an at&t s3 and it showed lte on statusbar, but not with 4.1.1 it would connect to it but just show 4g.. Of course idk if its different with the t-999l

Either way, it boils down to this. On a T999L you will get LTE if its available in your area. Whether or not is shows this in the statusbar is just rom dependant, but you will still get LTE.

just wanted to no if anyone had success and what was there procedure
the lte is incredibly fast night and day compared to the t999
