UGLC1 eh? Correct me if I'm wrong, but is this the March 2012 Canadian Radio? Because I'm trying to stick with the latest release designed for Canadian HSPA+ carriers.

I could be mistaken but I think UG is more "North America" but I guess for GSM that pretty much means "Canada" - though I use mine on AT&T in the states. UGKL1 is the one I've got would love to know what people think of this

Thanks, and yeah, that's all I meant. I just knew that XX was Europe. So if UG is for North America, then that covers Canada as well. And I flashed it with no problem, seem to be getting better WiFi reception, as well as losing connection to Google Servers less often (Grey signal bars) which I had a lot of trouble with using UGLA4. So far so good

Results will vary. You have to flash it and conclude yourself.
For me and others (in the major radio thread) it has been the best radio.
This is the newest radio, so give it a try. If it doesn't give you what you want, flash back the old radio you were using before.
I've had problems with all the other newer radio's.
But this one is a keeper. Cheers.

We will get it, but those sent from Google will get it everything from 1 day to 1-2 weeks before us i've heard.
They are planing to release 4.0.3 soon too, so we should get 4.0.2 maybe tomorrow if we are luckey.

Both. But the OTA for GSM started happening today and LTE had the 4.0.2 OTA happening yesterday.
The stock image files were released for both (4.0.2) yesterday.
Anyone yet?
Also, does anyone know if Google responded about this? We have a nexus...we should get updates fast and first like everyone else. Ridiculous.
Article posted on Android Central about the app the person developed. The "update" at the bottom of the article sheds some light.

People need to understand that a baseband can work better or not depending on their frequencies...

Well newer radios aren't necessarily better. There are so many factors and variables that will affect a radio's performance. Results will always vary based on their location, carrier, etc. There are just way too many variables.
In the end, it's all about the user's personal experiences if its better or not.
As far as frequencies.. not even going to go into the technology part of that because it's not worth debating over. I was just simply stating that this is a older radio and comes from a last year build to reduce the placebo effect of... "oh it's better!" simply because it was posted today but was a revision radio of yesterday. In actuality, this radio probably matches the XXKL1/UGKL1 radios but optimized more for Brazilians.

the radio signal receiving is the one that affects battery life. Getting a good radio driver is the only way to improve it.
Testing on my Galaxy Nexus with Vivo, until now i did not notice any diference
Tried this one in Oslo, Norway.
Gettings lots of Edge-connection and speeds around 5/2 when I get a decent HSDPA lock.
I'll revert to back to latest docomo radio for now.
Just flashed this baseband, i live in Argentina, hope this work well because i was having some problems with getting good connection

As far as 4.0.4 radios go you have two choices: UGLC1 and XXLA2.
I'm on LC1 personally, haven't felt the need to test other BB's since. There are often too many variables to declare a BB as a clear winner.

Since you're located in Denmark, I suggest you use the XXLA2 radio. XX radios are apparently best suited for Europeans, while UG radios (like UGLC1) are best suited for the United States and Canada.

Best radio is to use them all starting with the latest one and determine the one best for YOU. One radio good for one person is not the same for you because you two live on different parts of the world + different carriers.
Thanks for this thread, guys. Very informative.
Use LAX2 as that works best. And you get better battery life compared to the previous releases
Hi all,
Ok so my second GNex is in (White this time) and I wanted to try something different. Im right not on AOKP Build 40 which is a 4.04 ROM but I also am running a radio for 4.02 based roms (XXKK6). I've noticed I get substantially better signal than the newer radios that are out for it so I decided to keep it. My question is...is there any substantial harm im looking at by mixing an incorrect ROM and Radio this far apart? I know some of you have mixed it around but this radio is a couple versions old. Thanks in advance.
As long as the ril matches the radio you are fine. The latest aokp and cm9 builds use the ril for krlb1 radio. The easiest way to check is with the getril app off the play store.
This app will allow you to check if radio and ril match and download the correct ril if you are set on keeping your current radio.
First few days with the phone I had wicked signal drops until someone put me onto this app, now my signal is perfect.
Sent from my Cyanogenmodded GNex
Well given that I've used a north american radio and RIL on my phone I'd say you're good. The radio and RIL doesn't even have to match as some RILs (believe it or not) work better than the one suggested.

In addition, some of us have never had data drops, whether the RIL was matched to the radio or not.
I've tried a few different radios, and a few different RILs (matched and not matched), and I have not noticed any perceivable difference in reception/latency/throughput.

Look dude, the best thing is to just test different radios and RILs. Asking here what mix is best won't help you the least as the mix that work for someone might not work for you, at all.
I found that it didn't help avoiding data drops by running a 4.0.3 radio and RIL (for me) while running AOKP. I don't know whether my drops are because of AOKP, my carrier, a certain radio or simply a mix of all.
