I Have a big Problem
No matter wich Firmware i flash the display of my xperia play shows a black screen.
It cant be a hardware defect cause i have it not dropped down.
I have tryed to flash it with Wotan Client 3 and Flash Tool on Windows 7
If i hit the power button the phone it self vibrates but the screen is always black and shows me no "Sony Ericsson" Logo
Here is the LOG of FlashTool

Now i tryed it with SEUS - same result
oh my god. i never saw like that error. Try Relock Bootloder. And update with Update Service. But you need USB Debugging for Update Service.
edit:sorry. i didn't see your post.
do you have a zip on sd card? with a rom? , try to put a custom kernel with recovery with fastboot , then from recovery flash the rom and see if it works , i don;t know for sure but if i was in your situation i would try that
Fastboot seems to be working, the blue LED lights up.. i will put a rom to my sd card via a card reader and see whats going on.. wait a sec.. i will post than.
edit // Is there any chance to put on USB Debugging from a PC ?
Screen cable unplugged from motherboared.
How can i replug it in?

Of course, i used FXPs Kernel for CM7 to flash FXP113
But the FXP Logo dont shows up i think i have to sent it to the service, its fully stock .42 with relocked bootloader, so i hope i become a new device
did u try flashing this?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1126358
EDIT: just saw u relocked bootlloader...
any news bro ?
No :'(
Im gonna bring it to service tommorow ... now i need a second device ...
have u tried flashing ics beta rom via fastboot..?? it should work because its flashing is not involved wit cwm recovery and u dont need a screen to flash.. i think, u might have lost ur screen.. think so, u haven't fallen ur device, but there might be loose connections between screen and motherboard.. sony care centre is the only solution.. hope for the best dude..
That's the last ****ing **** .. I bought a 300 € smartphone, and the flexcable looses by it self? .. Time to go back to the old good Nokia 3310 xD
OK, so i have givin it to o2 germany .. i will maybe become a complete new device thank you all for your time to help! best community =)

Hi guys i've had a go at putting on a custom ROM after I rooted and unlocked the bootloader on my Xperia Play GSM but something has gone tits up and now it's stuck on the boot screen and I don't know how to restore it or make it work.
I followed all the instructions on here and rooted/unloacked the bootloader fine, installed CWM and tried to install CM7. It installed and I rebooted my phone through CWM but it's now stuck on the 'Sony Ericsson' logo.
I've done rooting and unlocking before on a ZTE San Fransisco and a HTC Desire, it was super easy to do and ROM were a piece of cake to put on but with the Xperia Play it just seems like an absolute mess as i've been messing about for the last hour and a half trying to get my phone working again.
Help please!
did u flash cm7 kernel before flashing the rom?
I dumped the ROM onto my SD card and then tried flashing like that? Basically did it like I did with my old San Fran/HTC Desire.
i've not use cm7 but i think it needs its own kernel to be flash first..flash the kernel first then the rom.
Thanks but i'll need to go about un-bricking my device 1st as it's still stuck on the boot screen.
just flash cm7 kernel to your PLAY via fastboot and then reflash the rom. that should do the trick.
Will give that a go now, thanks for all your help!
Will report back if i've had any luck.
Not having any luck at all.
Used this kernel but it's still just stuck on the boot logo.

This kernel is intended for Timescape, not CM7.
Would you be able to tell me how to return it to stock or to fully sort out CM7 please? I've had a look in the 'Development' section here but can't find it amongst the mess of other ROM's.
I'll flash one or the other and hopefully get it working again and put it on eBay because this has been a right pain in the arse.
Anyone? Having no luck sorting this phone out, i'd like to get it back to stock and get rid because i've had enough.

yes it is unlocked as I cant use track id as when I unlocked my bootloader from sony site which cause losing DRM Keys...
Well, judging from the line "FAILED (remote: Unrecognized command, bork!)", you might not have the right drivers. Maybe try installing "Flashtool-drivers.exe" from the "drivers" folder in Flashtool's installed directory?

I think he means you have to turn your phone off, hold search key down while connecting usb cable instead of restarting the phone to fastboot by android menu or recovery menu.

When I go to flash a new kernel I get this error and it wount go into fastboot with flashtool. Anyone have any experience with this problem. please help.
The phone is rooted and boot loader unlocked.
I installed CWM on an xperia Arc S's, but the rom (CM10 nightly) seemed to have an error. No problem I thought, I have a backup. So I did a restore and rebooted the device. Unfortunately all I get is the sony logo. I've tried flashing with flashtool, which goes through the stages but the same problem continues. I've also tried using sony PC companion, but after selecting the device type it tells me it has no software avalible for the phone.
Really stuck here, anyone able to help?
Edit: Should also mention that I have no way to get into CWM now as it requires a phone that I can boot into to get into recovery. power+vol down does nothing.
Good news is you're not hard bricked, it's fixable.
Here is a good tutorial including a table with updated firmware & drivers for each Xperia device. :: http://www.androidgadgematic.com/2012/06/how-to-fix-bricked-sony-xperia-android.html
Use Gingerbread IF you had Gingerbread before. Use ICS if you had ICS before. It's probably not wise to mix.
Btw, is your bootloader unlocked?

Yer, I've tried that already. It'll let me flash the kernal I had before, but upon rebooting it still doesn't get past the sony logo screen. It was running ICS before, and I've tried the two kernals I already had saved on the PC. AFAIK the bootloader is locked, but I cant be 100% as it isn't my device.
here is the flashtool log for the record

Most tutorials usually assume you're unlocked. How about you unlock and try again? You should be able to still enter into fastboot and send your unlock code, it's been awhile since I've worked with an xperia but I recall fixing one by unlocking first.

Well it says that the flashtool method works with unlocked or locked bootloaders and I can't figure out how to unlock the bootloader without being able to do anything with the device. Any help with that?

It's not my device, but I don't think it is. Unfortunately I can't figure out (or find online) how to unlock the bootloader without some access to the phone.

Download proper FTF file and install it via Flashtool. Yours was kernel only.
And to all the smartasses out there - CM10 cannot be used with locked bootloader, so if he was using it, he must have had unlocked BL already.
Sent from LT18i with custom firmware by myself.
Im have similiar problem about stop at Sony logo, I have locked bootloader.

a xperia arc, broken?
hey guys, hmm,
I was hesitating about posting here, but now that I have no choice.. -_-''.
I installed this ROM, ultimate HD 3.0.2 on my xperia arc with locked bootloader, successfully, but the keyboard was not working, and i found no soultion, so I thought about reinstalling it, but this time I remembered that, somewhere, I read that I could install the version for xperia arc s, unfortunately, at this moment, I got stupid enough to do it u_u''.
So now you understand that I installed ultimate HD for xperia arc s on my xperia arc, and the result was===> guess what!
My xperia arc never booted successfully after that: the sony screen appears, than the phone reboots, and does the same thing again and again. I don't even have to push the power on/off button, it just shows the sony screen and keeps rebooting whenever the battery is connected..
I know for quite sure that my phone is broken, but isn't there any chance that I can repare it xD?
I'm a student, and I sincerely got no money for buying a new one -_-.
PS: when pushing the volume-down button, I can not access the recovery.
I hope my english and my phone's situation are not too much catastrophic.
Thank you.
I'm new here so I'm not quite sure if this is the right place for my post.

I'm trying to flash my zl and I thought that I downloaded the ftf file for flash tool, but all I downloaded is flashable_101.part1.rar and part 2. Flashtool Xperia flashing tool (v0.9.16.1) doesn't seem to understand a .rar, and neither do I for that matter. I just need EXACT information on how to flash my zl C6506 to android (4.3) 10.4.1.B.0.101. 4.4.2 10.5.a.0.230 has made my phone unusable and I just want to go back. I was very happy with 4.3 and I've read through all of the forums about which version etc..., but I'm not a developer, I'm a network guy. I just want instructions on how download and properly flash my phone, no assumptions please. Just directions, I'll donate to whomever helps me get my phone fixed. Sony doesn't seem to care, but I spent a lot of money on this phone and I just want it to work.

1. Download the FIrmware
2. DOwnload the flashtool
3. Put the FTF on firmwares foleder (inside the C:/Flashtool/Firmwares)
4. Connect your phone into flashmode (or fastboot i forget which one) by turning off your phone and hold volume up button while plug the usb
5. Click on "Thunder" icon and select the FTF and Flash it.. (If you want to upgrade don't tick Wipe Data and Cache, if your phone is already bricked, or stuck in booting, then wipe your Data and Cache)
6. Only 5 steps
If it help, press thanks button
You'll have to unpack .part1 and .part2 with winrar, winzip or 7z (all you have to do is right-click on .part1 and select "unpack". It will automaticly unpack .part2 and you'll get ftf file that you'll need to put in flashtool/firmware folder. If you get zip file when you unpack those two part, that means you got file that flashable from recovery, but If you don't have recovery installed on phone , you can't do much with it.
So look for ftf firmware files that you flash with flashtool, not for zip files that is flashable with recovery.
Once you have ftf files in flashtool/firmware folder, in flashtool press lighting icon and choose "flash mode" and choose firmware from list.
Click flash, wait untill flashtool is prepair files and once it's done (it will tell you) press and hold volume-down on phone and while that button is still pressed connect usb cable.

Out of town, and just got back. Followed your directions now it just keeps rebooting. Directions were not exact. There was no unpack on the right click using 7-zip. The flash tool said to hit the back button, however I held down the down volume and what's listed below is what the log says. Now the phone

Did you even try to power on phone in those 37 seconds when flashing was finished?
Try with master reset (remove sdcard and hold reset button untill it vibrate 3 times)
Also, is your model c6506?
