Best OOM Values on Arc? - Xperia Arc Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

As title says, what would be the best OOM values for the Arc? What values do you use at the moment?

How do you mean? The OOM values from which app do you mean?

Out of memory values

I know what OOM values are, but which settings? Do you mean the OOM group values? Ore do you want that specific apps can't be killed? Ore do you mean the low memory settings you can set in supercharger?

The low memory settings I believe
The settings that the v6 supercharger changes

Supercharger can calculate the best settings for your phone. I don't know wich version u use? But the latest beta release it is option 10, I believe.
Quick cost oomize, or something like that.

Srericson BusyBox
This will allow you to uninstall existing busybox install, and then install latest bb version.....I think now V 1.20.1
It is an Installer, as Busybox is GNU Public License s/w maintained by Denys Vlasenko....

It makes the phone run faster and smoother by adjusting the Low Memory Killer values. So it keeps a minimum amount of free memory so that the current activity will be smooth and lag free. In my case I've also removed a lot of bloatware(all Samsung hubs, etc) to free up the memory and together with the V6 script my stock ROM runs very smooth. This is the main thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=991276
PS: I advise you choose the suggested minfree values using the built in super minfree calculator. These are working nicely for me.

is it like the RAM Manger PRO? can switch to balance to gaming to multitasking by adjusting the free memory? so you aren't experiencing any lag even once?

Never used RAM Manager so can't say much about it. The lag will never be 100% gone purely because this is android and it's memory management is designed to work in a way that results in some amount of lag. But I must say it is almost lag free. Very good.

V6 Supercharger on ICS

Hi guys, I opened this thread just to garner opinion about V6 supercharger and all other ram management scripts/apps, their effectiveness on our ICS roms. I use CM9 and just supercharged today, didn't really make a dramatic difference. In fact at times it feels more laggy than without supercharger. I'd like to know if anyone has a similar or different experience on any of the ICS roms for our phone.

Did u use the right way of using the v6,coz for ics u have to upload and download your system.jar from android mimics, bit different from the gb.
And i think v6 only would not be enough on ics, need more script like velocity or s97 juwe script and autokiller ram optimizer to boost the ram management that caused lag.

Yeah, you right. The best way to find a tweak/script that suit you properly is to test it by your own.
Thus, I recommend guys to test other known script - Thunderbolt script
I will test this mod later, which include LMK supercharge also

Okie, I will give a short conclude on what I'm doing on my phone now.
You right, I using both forfivo kernel v2.2 with freeky engine, pretty good and smooth so far, at least less lag I see
But 1 thing should mention here, geeky engine make my phone more worst, feel slow sometimes (I asked the dev and he not sure the problem too). Test yourself and see how.
So if you use freeky engine, you should move xbin to system instead of system/etc, otherwise zipalign may not work

Stock kernel on CM10. When you wish to game simply overclock min frequency to 768 and max to 1401 and set governor to performance.
Why performance? Yr device may be very very hot

Be careful... the performance governor basically runs your CPU at MaxFreq all the time.
Except during Deep Sleeps.

how can i disable CPU rendering ?
CPU rendering? What I know is Force GPU rendering and in order to disable that just go settings and under the Developer Option, scroll down till you see a check box and Force GPU Rendering then untick it... I thought its not ticked by default?

Disable CPU rendering is a flashable file found in Android Developments. Its quite old but gold. Enable KSM at memory settings under Performance. Also enable 16bit transparency but disable surface dithering.

LOL no!
i get 12+ hours battery backup with these freq,so I'm quite ok with it.
seeder is an entropy generator, in short it reduces lags.
ram manager does the same thing as juwe ram script, but you get to choose profiles you want plus the pro version has several other features like using swap etc.
