Please help me fix it. The sd-card cannot be read, can't be recognized on my pc, Bluetooth doesn't work and sim is out of service.
Have you looked at the TroubleShooting guide, here:

?
I'm too new at this, and won't be able to help, but you'll need to provide some more detail to get any assistance here, I think. Stuff like software and hardware versions, ROM, what you did to it to get it into the state it's in, how it behaves, etc.

I was backing up my ROM and the ClockWorkRecovery froze and only have an image showing a blurred out picture of the ClockworkRecovery picture so I pulled out my batteries. I tried to turn on my phone but it didn't work so i did a RUU and got me to s-on and unrooted. There was a high possibly that I was USB bricked before I did a Ruu.

Don't you need S-OFF to run those commands because it doesn't work for me
Actually never mind it did work thank you very much!

I must be the dumbest guy in the world, I got my Desire only 3 days and I screwed up. I wanted to try some custom roms and I did. Now I want to recover to the orginal RUU and root that and customize that.
But that isin't going to work like I want it to work.
My information:
Bravo PVT1 SHIP S-ON
HBOOT-0.80.0000
Microp-031d
Radio-4.06.00.02-2
My ROM:
2.1-update1
32.36.00.28U_4.06.00.02_2
2.6.29-0cb9f166 (htc-kernel - and18-2 #1)
1.21.405.2 CL174215 release-keys
Now I tried to use the follow RUU: RUU_Bravo_HTC_WWE_1.21.405.2_Radio_32.36.00.28U_4.06.00.02_2_release_126984_signed.exe but that is giving me a error 155 even before its going to load the bootloader.
Am I using the wrong RUU. Is something blocking? Can I downgrade my HBOOT to 0.75?
What should I do to go back to my Out of the Box desire?
Thanks.
Solved. Had to manually put my phone in the bootloader menu.

Hi there,
So I've been using my Vodafone branded DHD for 9 months or so on stock Froyo and then decided to root my phone. After a bit of reading, it seemed Radio S-off was the way to go so I did that on software version 1.32 using Advanced Multi Tools and got Radio S-off and SuperCID. All was working fine however I had to upgrade as I had some Exchange 2010 issues which was fixed in Gingerbread so did the OTA updates which took me to software version 2.50 and now I'm no longer rooted.
So a few questions I have that I couldn't really find an answer to:
How do I get root back on 2.50 considering I've already got Radio S-off?
Do I need the goldcard since it's branded or not? Or just the PD98IMG.zip approach?
How do I get temproot first so I can back up all my data, apps, etc first before wiping or downgrading it? I tried the Temp Root option here but it didn't seem to work.
Here is all the details
Branded on Vodafone - CID was (and maybe is again as I cant check in the bootloader): VODAP021

Would really appreciate some guidance on how to proceed...
You can try using gingerbrick if not use an RUU to downgrade to version 1.32 then use one click root to root your DHD
Yeah you will need a goldcard

I am not sure you will need to do all that as you already have s-off. That is the most important part. The new hack kit doesn't even require you to downgrade anymore or cause you to lose data. I have been putting my foot in my mouth lately with not so correct advice so I won't say too much more. But I sure wouldn't start over till someone responds that has more knowledge of this. Especially with all the updated tools available at this point.
As Agoattamer mentioned you already have S-OFF and presumably Radio S-OFF too.
The only beast holding you back is attaining root.
I believe fre3vo will root 2.50.xxx.x builds.
From THIS thread, grab the Downgrade.zip from the end of the first post.
Then follow this adapted guide.
Connect Desire HD to a computer. Charge only, USB Debugging enabled!
Open up a cmd and go to Downgrade folder, execute commands:
Code:
adb push fre3vo /data/local/tmp
adb shell chmod 777 /data/local/tmp/fre3vo
adb shell
./data/local/tmp/fre3vo -debug -start FBB00000 -end FFFFFFFF

Click to collapse
That should root your handset. Now just install SuperUser from the market. You'll probably need busybox too, again grab that from the market after SuperUser.
Let us know if that works.
Credits to jkoljo for the original guide.
@4tifjaved, thanks for your response. Gingerbreak unfortunately didn't seem to work.
@Agoattamer, thanks for your suggestion. I tried what @andyharney suggested but it doesn't seem to have become rooted - e.g. Root Checker still says it's not rooted and I can't use a screenshot application as an example.
It scanned through various regions but in the middle of all the text that it showed, it had:
Code:
Potential exploit area found at address fbb6cc00:1400.
Payload verification failed.
...if that means something?
Any further guidance would be appreciated.
Any further suggestions?
I've searched through the forums but am not sure what to try...
Have you tried this?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1259821
After reading abit of the advanced ace hack tool it says not to do it if you have s-off but also says it wont brick but you might have some problems. But if it gives your root then you can flash a new rom, etc via recovery.
Ace Advanced Hack Kit worked

Thanks for your suggestion to try the Ace Advanced Hack Kit. I had seen that kit previously but was a bit concerned with the 'Please do NOT run the hack step if you are already S-OFF' note it had. I think the warning is mainly for if it's S-off and a custom rom.
So I went ahead and used it to root - followed the instructions and within 5 minutes was rooted! It's a great kit, worked well and preserved all data.
Thanks for your help!

no it doesn't, you can't roll back software versions using RUUs... you probably had a freak stroke of luck where the bootloader wasn't for some reason updated.
To downgrade, you need to S-OFF with revolutionary, then flash the downgrader from alpharev, then run a WWE RUU. That will do it for you.
Hi all - need some help unrooting my desire.
Have tried every RUU I can find, and the PB99 img route but everything fails. I believe my desire is an unbranded (although I got it from Vodafone), but I have flashed a new radio in the past.
If anyone can point me in the right direction id appriciate it.

what was the reason of the fail ??
maybe you will need to downgrade either the ROM or hboot or both.
before you can flash RUU again.
try first to flash a froyo custom rom... then flash RUU for gingerbread,
that may help, as the RUU will not flash if the current phone's ROM is >= the RUU
Yeah, was telling me the flash was older, etc, i thought it was down to a newer HBOOT didnt realise it could be due to my CM7 rom I have installed,,, will chuck an old Froyo rom on later and try it - thanks!
dammit.. looks like i need something like this :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=741775
But... all the older rom links are Multiupload.com which doesnt exist any more... can anyone help? Anyone have a stock FroYo rom to share?
Kev
i might be wrong, to
u may still need to downgrade the hboot to.
but try a lower ROM first
Will do when i get home later, thanks!
For last few months, my desire brakes phone calls randomly and sometimes doesn't brake calls at all - going mad about it.
What can cause this?
I have never flashed any rom, radio, kernel etc..
I am on latest official rom 2.2.2 - S-OFF/ROOT (Revolutionary) - 4EXT recovery - Link2SD - 1GB EXT3...or FAT32

Any advice on what to do?
Can it be bad sim???
I would like to keep official rom if possible
I have the same problem, but it hasn't happenend very often so I haven't really cared. I don't know what fixes it, just wanted to let you know that you're not alone on this
Thanks for letting me know, I really don't know what to do..maybe I restore it to factory default state, with S-on, no extended mem partition, etc..
1st and most important function of all phones are calls - if that doesn't work then I don't have use of it.
I'm not sure if I already had the problem before I went S-Off, but it certainly happend before I got extended memory. So that should not be the problem.
