i hope im right, but i would assume that its thee same as with any rom... i used dt a2sd on sense and my current CIUI rom, which is a mix between CM and MIUI. here is a link
http://www.darktremor.info/files/a2sd/dtapps2sd-2.7.5.3-beta04-signed.zip
flash this from the sd card in recovery.... then dl a terminal emulator and enter the following commands:
su [ENTER]
a2sd reinstall [ENTER]
you can also do the following to move cache to sd to free up more space if needed:
a2sd cachesd [ENTER]
hope this helps

Well put. That'll do it.

The CM7 HBOOT will shuffle around your NAND to 130Mbs System 5Mbs Cache 302Mbs Data, stock it's 250mbs System 40Mbs Cache and 147Mbs Data.
Basically you get 302Mbs of internal app space where as using a stock Sense ROM you get 147Mbs. You'll need AlphaRev's S-OFF to perform it though.
If your installed ROM uses Darktremors a2sd script you have to type
Code:
su
a2sd cachesd
in terminal (like connectbot) on device.
From PC its
Code:
adb shell
a2sd cachesd
Try!
yh i tryed the rom does not use darktremor im know how to wen usin darktremor
Hi!
I'm using MIUI XJ A2SD/A2SD+ 1.4.29 - 2.3 FINAL
my problem is that a2sd isn't working any more after flashing the new rom.. I used connectbot for making a2sd ready. the usual thing: su, a2sd zipaign and a2sd cachesd
but when i type in: a2sd zipalign 2 errors appear:
[X] No a2sd.swap environment variable found.
[X] Problem detected: Darktremor Apps2SD may not have ran during boot. Cannot read a2sd.mountpoint.
how can i solve it?
Instead of a2sd zipalign you can type:
su
a2sd reinstall

Your Desire will restart. Then to move the dalvik-cache to ext type:
su
a2sd cachesd
Click to collapse
I totally forgot how its done.
Here is the link:

which is the boot.img that i need??
also.. when I go in terminal and i hit "a2sd", information comes up say
Darktremor apps2SD 2.7.5.2
etc
etc
etc
So im not sure what to do.
(im trying the Salsa rom)
I don't think you will need to get another boot.img for the salsa rom since it has a2ext built-in. I don't know why, but it seems like the phone moves my apps and cache to sd on the first startup right after flashing. If you want to move your cache to sd, you can just type in su to get superuser permission first, then type a2sd cachesd into terminal emulator and it should start moving your cache. While you're at it, type a2sd check to see where your apps and cache are running from as well.

Im doing it.. but its not working 100%
When i hit a2sd cachesd
It runs a few tests, and prints out a line saying "ext partition not mounted"
any ideas?
::EDIT::
Fixed it.
For anyone else who searches...
If you are partitioning with ROM MANAGER, select the partition size you like.. then on the 2nd option (18, 32, 64, etc)
Select different ones..
select one.. doesnt work, format sdcard, use rom manager again.. select another.
Miui XJ a2sd 1.7.x was the first Miui i flashed on my desire, I tried activating the a2sd with the zipalign and cachesd commands but it didn't work.
Searching the internet for a fix i read that it's a common problem and flashing the darktremor a2sd script should fix the problem.
I searched everywhere but i couldn't find the script to download.
I then decided to flash the d2ext, but it was really slow, and i had some issues with deleting files.
In the end i gave up and returned to froyo.
Once again i flashed the Miui xj a2sd 1.8.12 in the hope that things will run different this time, but i ran out of memory very fast, my phone shows that i have only 20 MB of internal memory left, and the a2sd has like 450 MB.
I can't install anymore apps without seeing the low memory sign, so is there anyway to fix this?

Activate A2SD+ with commands from a terminal emulator
A2SD zipalign
A2SD reinstall - this did it for me.
Thanks alot for the help, that did work.
I tried the aligning first but didn't work, it said that the script didn't run on boot, so i used the reinstall command and now i have 90 MB free internal memory.
I'm going to install more apps to see if the a2sd is working, or if i have to do this everytime i run out of memory.
Nope. You can do this only once. Reinstall actived the a2sd for you - because before it was not loading properly.

you need to flash the cm7r2 market cache fix from the MIUI thread..
Noob question. I'm currently running Express 3.4.1. It supports a2sd but when i check my internal storage it keeps going up after every app install. I did partition my sd card and can check it many different ways. SO what gives?
You can go into a terminal program, run:
su
a2sd check
a2sd reinstall
and that will move all your apps to the SD Card
This is interesting. Version 2.7.5.2, which is older. The check indicates that apps are going to sd. But when I try to to do the reinstall I get an error, something about a2sd not running on boot.

Yes, you need to flash the script again for a new rom.
Even when it says it's baked into the ROM, I still flash A2SD in the same recovery session as the ROM
Once u flashed the a2sd zip file open your emulator and do the following comands
su
a2sd cachesd
Phone well reboot
Now erase the emulator and re download because it well stop working after u run the command but re download it and open it again now type the next set of commands
su
a2sd datasd
Phone well reboot
And thats it u should have all the free memory you need just make sure u have your sd partioned before doing this or it wont work
