I feel like we can do a better job and keep the moderators happy while still making progress on pics for mt4g... but let's keep it together this time..

to figure out how to get the ball rolling in an organized way again.. I pm'd mars who ported desire s to see if we can start there again.. I don't know if he can or will use this for his port.. or if we go back to the general thread... I just think to much progress was being made to shut down..

The mods obviously disagreed, so what makes you think starting another thread in the development section was a good idea?
The dev section is for posting actual software...ROMs, kernels, recoveries, etc. Not for discussions. That's what the General section is for.

btw, ever think of WHY so many devs are leaving and giving up? maybe it's because people like you are spamming the dev section and the rom threads with random garbage.

i really really hate it how the ICS development ended... i just hope it will come back soon.

I do have an idea. IDK if you'd agree on this but heres my idea:
All developers from the Desire S, MT4G, Desire HD need to come together to work on ICS. Things would get done faster and we'd basically have the same builds but the developers would independently work on drivers and such alone unless they want to work on 3 devices completely.
I'm just saying this because then the work could get done much faster with developers pulling together. The only other option seems to create additional threads like some others have with different ports but make them completely separate. I do agree that many builds should not be posted within 1 thread. However, I do not agree we should only have 1 thread on ICS. I also agree that people shouldn't be asking the same questions over and over. We could possibly develop some kind of bug reporting policy. The devs could use our help and by us reporting the bugs and making logcats we can further help the developing along faster.

What happened was people couldn't wait one damn minute for a upload and couldn't read what was posted a page back. It was disrespectful. Try doing that on any other thread. It would've came if people just had patients. People have lives outside of xda. (Jobs) Hopefully next time it won't be like that. I'm gonna go on cm7 and post a port of cm9 because they are taking too damn long...get it?

Every freaking comment was about the stupid wifi issue, a person didn't need to read more than 3 posts up to know that was an issue. Some peoples kids I tell ya! Read at least the last few pages and get a.decent feel for how the rom is, and if you want a stable rom...then you probly shouldn't flash a BETA rom geesh

I'm in agreement with everything u just said bro...and I just got a glimpse if what it feels like to be a real dev...wow...and all I did was share a port I made...ppl need to chill, show some appreciation and relax...most importantly, RELAX!

Or if on a custom ROM that devs make do they ask how to V6 n which script to use n how to use it even though the ROM dev states its not his work n won't fully support it because they can't provide solid answers on other work.

What would be the ultimate ROM. If a DEV could have all the Tweaks and Mods in a single flash. All the different lock screens. All the customization's and MODs from our favs. We have some flash addicts here I know. I had the Skyrocket before with a lot of different ROMs. Now that I have the Note 2, I've tried a bunch. I bet there is a DEV out there who could make the [Everything ROM] One with like I said, a little of all the options. Would Aroma installer be the best way to flash it. Have all the mods and customizing available for you to choose.*Or just choose ALL.... That would be sick......It might be impossible, but then again nothing is here @ XDA.....Love this site.

The EVERYTHING ROM
No, I run the SKYNOTE 8 ROM. Its a beast! I just think it would be sick to have a EVERYTHING ROM. With Aroma installer and tons of options. Dont know if it can be done though. I am reading up on making ROMs as we post. I'm the type to stay up all night just to get something to work.

Getting one thread closed that you made earlier.. And then trying to work around the rules by posting another similar thread with a topic that is completely correlated with the now locked thread isn't having respect for the site, nor its users.

You said you came from the i727 forums. If you know anything about that forum, then you know that stupid threads like this aren't allowed. What you learn in one forum, apply to the next that you visit. That's how it's disrespectful.
Take the advice given to you. Build something, find someone to collaborate with, whatever, and then ask what you can do to make it better for the users. This thread stands to put pressure on devs to do more than they already work their butts off doing.

I'm not talking about all the ROMs. Im just throwing an idea out there about the EVERYTHING ROM. A lttle of each liked ROM or an Aroma Installer with a ton of options. Tell me how thats disrespectful. I can see why my first ever post got closed. Dont see that here buddy. Thanks

Basic help please.

Hey there, I'm still relatively new to the whole android scene. I understand the basics for most other phones but when it comes to HTC, I get lost. I just purchased a G2 and I've heard there are some pretty good stuff available for it as long as you do it right. So, I guess my question is, how do I do it right? I know there's something about unlocking your bootloader and getting s-off but thats about it. If it's already been posted on here, sorry.

Spoiled Chidren Ruining XDA

I have noticed a rash of rude and uncalled for comments lately. Here is a little advice for noobs.
Trolling or Fishing on a Devs thread is childish. How old are you? 12? They take their spare time to develop roms, mods, hacks etc. and give them to us for free. Making comments such as "This rom sucks" is just wrong. If you do not like the rom, don't use it. Respect is earned on this site.
When needing help, please search for the answer first. If you cannot find a good enough explanation, then ask the question politely. Include as much information as possible. Phone code name, Hboot version, S-On or S-Off, What rom you are using etc. I know some people will tag it at the bottom but put it in the description of the question as well. It is hard enough to help someone without having to figure out what kind of phone they have too. Be polite. Hit the thanks button. It is free and does not hurt at all. Remember that XDA is a developers site. They invited you here to share their work with you freely. Senior members help a lot of people on a daily basis and you should keep in mind that they get tired of answering the same question or fixing the same problem. Being polite and keeping your cool will get them to help you a lot faster and things will go alot smoother.

i wish i was a forum mod, cause i see tons of threads that need to be moved and/or locked or both, like the threads that needed to be moved in the dev sections that were just closed but never moved, or were moved but still say "Moved: " in original posted forum.
was this Xperia Z rom port please! not moved but closed in case a dev would see it and want to port it?
why do some threads say "Moved: " but still show up in it's original location? back when the new rules of threads with no downloads can't be in dev section many of those seem show up as "Moved: " which seems beneficial as they originally hinted at dev usage but didn't exactly conform to the rules of that section so seeing them in both places might be helpful?

XDA is just a subset of society.
In society, there are nice people, not so nice people, smart folk, idiots etc.
There will always be a mix of all types here, and while venting about noobs probably makes you feel a little better for a short time, the fact is it isn't going to change a thing.
My advice is just accept that it is how it is. Maybe have another beer and everything will seem just that little bit better.
