REVIEW IS HERE
I've found this on ebay.
It's pretty and cheap and i'm probably going to buy it (and if, i'll post here a depth review), but
QUESTION:
Can the magnetic closure ruin the phone? i mean by interferences or so
Thanks.

I really doubt it. It's not some industrial strength magnet..

Thanks! I've also found some thread related to other phones and the conclusion is the same.
I'll let you know.
I was wondering the exact same thing just the other day. The blackberry pouches have a magnet to cater to its auto shut off feature. But seeing that the G-nex does not have this feature, would the magnet cause any internal damage?

I just received the item and the magnets seems to be strong enough to keep the cover closed but not to interfere with the phone. Plus the screen doesn't seems to be attracted by the magnets.
I'll post a review this evening.
It would.be.cool.if we could make this like the iPad and power on when opened.
Looking forward to your review.
i like the concept of these, but, not sure if i would like having to open something every time i would need to use my phone. not to mention i don't think i would like trying to talk on it and the flap covering half my face or credit cards falling out. and then i would have to pop it out every time i get in the car to put it in my dock.
cool idea though. i would consider it if it just had a cash-stash and cc slots on the back side without the flap
CASE REVIEW (a sort of)
PROs
- The phone fits perfectly in the case.
- The magnets don't seem to interfere with anything.
- The front cover bends without any problem and doesn't slap my face while calling.
- The screen is very well protected
CONs
- The plastic inner case doesn't have proper top and bottom sides leaving the phone quite unprotected there as you can see from the photos.
- The credit card pocket sewing can mark the screen, but it's nothing permanet.
Let me know if you have more questions.

A solution is to use the proximity sensor but I think that if it was feasible then someone would have already done it.

I was shopping the other day and I came across this interesting thing. Basically it is this pad of some sort of sticky polyurethane gel that can stick onto any surface without damaging it and can hold your cellphone up. It is the single greatest mount in my opinion because I can take it anywhere. I have been putting it in the car for use as a GPS, in the bedroom to watch videos, etc.
Information from the package:
When your Magic-Mat becomes dusty and less sticky simply rinse and allow it to dry to its original stickiness
Magic-Mat is made of Polyurethane gel, a unique material that is incredibly sticky, resilient, flexible, and durable.
Magic-Mat can withstand temperature extremes ranging from -122F to 212F.
Magic-Mat is nontoxic, odorless, and recyclable.
Use Magic-Mat in your home, car, boat, or RV to hold your cell phone, sunglasses, PDA, toll pass...Just about everything.
I was able to find the exact product I bought online, however, I was also able to find similar ones made from the same material. I do not have a camera available, so the image below is of the other product, but they are exactly the same. Also, the picture does not show it holding a cell phone, but you should have no problem sticking your phone to it.

I have a rubberized hard case so I haven't tested, but I will now.
UPDATE: yes it works.
I have this same mat (although white) and it works great with the Amzer Luxe Argyle case.
This seems like a great way to use as a GPS holder for my phone. You sure it will hold the weight of the captivate?

do you mind posting pictures of it?
im interested in the white / clear one.
I've looked around on Google, and the closest I got was a case, but here's what I'm looking for:
Is there such a thing as a battery cover replacement with a kick stand? I know it'll be a touch thicker, but it would definitely be worth it to be able to prop my Captivate up in front of me to watch things.
If they made something like that like the HTC Thunderbolt has, I would buy it in a heartbeat. I looked around and couldn't find anything so I'm thinking of just building and attaching a similar kickstand on the stock battery door for myself, doesn't seem like it would be too difficult.
that would be cool built into the door, but i made this...

Try looking here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=739168
Some great ideas!
You could easily make on with a nice black picture frame and some super glue. Just have to find a small one with a stand that clicks in place flush with the frame for wall mounting. That and a little imagination. Lol... Might actually attempt it myself..

If you buy the otter box defender it comes with a belt clip that the phone will slide into either screen out or screen in and the clip will lock open so u can use it as a stand . amazon has the case for $33.00
lol thats funny, i have the otterbox defender, i knew the belt clip works as a stand, but just plumb forgot to mention it in this thread...

So I bought this case before knowing that the magnet would screw up my Note. After a bit of online research, I came up with the idea of installing a snap fastener button in place of the magnet (just like the Mastige series). Looking through Etsy, I found this set of buttons:
http://www.etsy.com/transaction/71729266"]http://www.etsy.com/transaction/71729266"]http://www.etsy.com/transaction/71729266
This type of fastener is probably the more flattened type of snap fasteners. And it looks more elegant as well.
Taking the magnet out was a pain since they were glued on a piece of paper and there were 2 of them each side. Here is the final result:

This is the style man.
Looks hot.
Nice mod looks totally like it was made that way.
Looks good. Have to say I love the aged leather but I'm not big on the studs or embossing. My ideal case would be that one that looks like a leather bound book but they only make them for idevices
In what way did the magnet cause issues? Mine has a magnet clasp, not Mega strong though
Sent from the Awesomeness that is my Galaxy Note using XDA Premium app
supposedly affect s-pen accuracy. i have a small magnet on the back of my casing too, for the kickstand, but have not seen averse effects in s-pen accuracy
From what I gathered, the magnet would not cause any immediate effect due to its relative weak strength. However, over time, the S-Pen and the touch screen would be affected. I would not take any chance to find out how severe the problem will be.
is there hard evidence of this?

Nothing concrete, but you can find the detail right here:

i have tested this with the *#0*# Sensors, and Magnetic sensor (assuming this is pointing to magnetic north) moves with my case where my magnet points to. dayum, this is a good excuse for a new case!
I am actually planning to do the exact same thing as you. Except I have the Prestige Origami Diary Series instead (attached below).
Any hints or tips that you could share as to how you went about it? I have checked your supplier link for the buttons (nice find!) and plan to purchase from them the exact same set as well. Seems like there are some useful tools included in the package already, like the button presser / holder thing.
Just a couple of quick questions if you don't mind...
How did you remove the magnets itself from inside the leather? Because I assume you cut into the leather through the top layer with a scalpel of some sort, and somehow pulled it out with tweasers?
What sort of adhesive did you use to secure the buttons in place? Using some sort of glue or just the pressure of the buttons locked together?
How long roughly did this whole process take you?
case
i may be wrong but i am using Zenus Vintage for few month already and havent noticed any problems yet...
Can you post a how to please?
Weird, i have the exact same case and it comes without magnet..
I have a snap fastener fitted originally

There are two versions. You have the latest one.
Where do you buy the new version?
EDIT: Found it at http://zenuscaseusa.com/samsung-galaxy-note-prestige-vintage-g-note-diary.html
the funny thing is that i bought this case with magnetic closure a few days ago without knowing that there is a version with a snap fastener. The good thing is that i bought it for 27.99 dollars from ebay.com. i guess i will have to apply a snap fastener myself.
Hi guys, I have just bought a slim metal bumper for my Z1. Here is the link if you want it too ==> http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Luxury-De...lePhonesCasesPouches&var=&hash=item2c76d1781e
----------------------------------------It is different from both this one http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2609711&page=2 and this one http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2527493 , since the first one is a LOVE ME! model (personally don't like it, sorry) and the second one I don't know, it looks pretty cool but the owner said that the magnetic charger needs to be cut in order to make the phone charge properly.
----------------------------------------
Actually mine is better, with this one you have still at least 1mm of gap between a flat surface and the front/back of your phone, there are some little silicon felt to grip the phone inside the bumper and protect it from self-scratch.
Last for the best : all ports are made for our phones functions BUT! My magnetic cable is working without any modifications or cuts, I just have to plug and there it goes!
I don't know if my cable is different from the Sony one or if it is a stock Sony one actually (it was branded Sony DK31 magnetic cable so who knows).
I can recommand it without reserve, the seller is trustworthy and shipped it really fast, 5 days from UK to France. The bumper itself is very light but still feels sturdy. Vastly positive impression.
Pictures are here !

This case looks good but will make volume button harder to press especially camera button.
Hav exactly this one...bought on aliexpress...its pretty good and all, sturdy and with rubber on the internal side to protect the phone from shocks, but i hav to say, makes the phone a little bit too big for my taste, when i take it out the case i remember how beautiful this phone is...and its too big to fit in my magnetic dock
I have the same metal case in black:

This is true for the volume button, when you want to find them on the go it is harder to press, but the camera button is not this hard to press, I was surprised.

You're right! Our phones are so beautiful when naked. But I don't trust the skinomi protection, it cannot withstand falls I think so it might be the "best compromise" for us.

Thank you for your review, now those are detailled pictures! I didn't even think of shooting the locking mecanism and the rubbers.
Verizon store gave me the dot view case and really want to use it daily especially if mods are coming out but how the u use this thing? I can't figure out a one handed way to use it say for quick text message or what not.
Is it normal for phone lid to not sit flush? Seems cheaply made as I don't see how this is on purpose?
Any tips on how to use this thing one handed and how to get the lid to stay closed flush? First ever wallet style case to not sit flush, don't understand that.

Looking at your photos I see you have a glass screen protector fitted which is the reason the cover will not close properly. Mine closed perfectly when I got it but now I have fitted a glass protector it is the same as yours so it is not a problem with the case.
You're right. See that now. Would putting rubberbands around it holding it closed tight over night maybe help? Not sure with this rubber strap.

I don't have a screen protector and the device never sat completely flush against the screen. To answer your original question, I couldn't figure out how to use it comfortably when needing to use it. Unless I am traveling I don't use the case.
The only thing that I can set that will help out sit flush is if you use a dremmel to remove some of the material from that corner where it first contacts the gals screen protector. There is excess material there that is causing it not to be able to close
Sent from my HTC One_M8 using Tapatalk
Anyone know of a thin temeprrd glass screen protector with round edges on the sides instead of square? Maybe this will help. Mine is only .3mm thick I believe or less but square edges so raised.
