Verizon store gave me the dot view case and really want to use it daily especially if mods are coming out but how the u use this thing? I can't figure out a one handed way to use it say for quick text message or what not.
Is it normal for phone lid to not sit flush? Seems cheaply made as I don't see how this is on purpose?
Any tips on how to use this thing one handed and how to get the lid to stay closed flush? First ever wallet style case to not sit flush, don't understand that.

Looking at your photos I see you have a glass screen protector fitted which is the reason the cover will not close properly. Mine closed perfectly when I got it but now I have fitted a glass protector it is the same as yours so it is not a problem with the case.
You're right. See that now. Would putting rubberbands around it holding it closed tight over night maybe help? Not sure with this rubber strap.

I don't have a screen protector and the device never sat completely flush against the screen. To answer your original question, I couldn't figure out how to use it comfortably when needing to use it. Unless I am traveling I don't use the case.
The only thing that I can set that will help out sit flush is if you use a dremmel to remove some of the material from that corner where it first contacts the gals screen protector. There is excess material there that is causing it not to be able to close

Anyone know of a thin temeprrd glass screen protector with round edges on the sides instead of square? Maybe this will help. Mine is only .3mm thick I believe or less but square edges so raised.

I have read through the 2 thread about the screen protectors and full body screens, but its not clear which ones cover the buttons.
I have a gel/hard case combo cover the phone (great fit and protection) so I just need the screen, buttons, and chin covered. I am leaning towards Best Skins Ever full body protector, but I can't tell from the picture if it covers the buttons. It looks like it covers the screen and chin, but its not clear if it protects the buttons.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I already had to return one screen protector from amazon b/c they sucked.
It does not cover the buttons. It pretty much covers everything except the buttons. I got mine last night and installed it. Took a good hour and some bubbles are still left, but they're all drying out and my phone is looking shinier than ever! I strongly recommend best skins ever. Great customer service too.

Bse here as well. Screen only. Tpu case for the rest.

i don't think they make a screen protector that covers the buttons
Sounds interesting, but It seems like it would be kinda weird
I think it would be extremely difficult to efficiently cover the buttons because they're actual physical buttons, not flush capacitive "buttons". If you were able to cover them with a material, it would likely peel up after a short time.
Check out Ghost Armor. The material will cover the buttons individually. It also has a lifetime warranty.

+1 on this. The buttons get kind of dirty around the edges after a few months, but it's free to get them replaced. They'll coat the entire phone for 35 I think, and I've only ever had to fully change mine once and I originally got it done last December. Only reason I had to change it was because I warranty exchanged my phone for a new one.
What about this case

REVIEW IS HERE
I've found this on ebay.
It's pretty and cheap and i'm probably going to buy it (and if, i'll post here a depth review), but
QUESTION:
Can the magnetic closure ruin the phone? i mean by interferences or so
Thanks.

I really doubt it. It's not some industrial strength magnet..

Thanks! I've also found some thread related to other phones and the conclusion is the same.
I'll let you know.
I was wondering the exact same thing just the other day. The blackberry pouches have a magnet to cater to its auto shut off feature. But seeing that the G-nex does not have this feature, would the magnet cause any internal damage?

I just received the item and the magnets seems to be strong enough to keep the cover closed but not to interfere with the phone. Plus the screen doesn't seems to be attracted by the magnets.
I'll post a review this evening.
It would.be.cool.if we could make this like the iPad and power on when opened.
Looking forward to your review.
i like the concept of these, but, not sure if i would like having to open something every time i would need to use my phone. not to mention i don't think i would like trying to talk on it and the flap covering half my face or credit cards falling out. and then i would have to pop it out every time i get in the car to put it in my dock.
cool idea though. i would consider it if it just had a cash-stash and cc slots on the back side without the flap
CASE REVIEW (a sort of)
PROs
- The phone fits perfectly in the case.
- The magnets don't seem to interfere with anything.
- The front cover bends without any problem and doesn't slap my face while calling.
- The screen is very well protected
CONs
- The plastic inner case doesn't have proper top and bottom sides leaving the phone quite unprotected there as you can see from the photos.
- The credit card pocket sewing can mark the screen, but it's nothing permanet.
Let me know if you have more questions.

A solution is to use the proximity sensor but I think that if it was feasible then someone would have already done it.
So i decided to plastidip my phone since i wanted a bit more grip from it, and let me tell you right now you can hold it vertically in your hand and it'll barely slide down, no need for grippy cases that add bulk. Best part is if you don't like it you can simply peel off the coating, here are some before and after pics of how i prepared it for the coating, i did 5 thin coats every 20 minutes and let it dry overnight.

I plastidip alot of stuff (car parts, mostly) so this is awesome!
How does it hold up over daily use...any flaking or chipping?

Ok this idea was only half perfect, i used it for the day and while the grip was awesome the ability to put it in and out of your pocket was disastrous, it just doesn't want to go in or out. Plus it picks up all the lint in the pocket, olh well at least it'll be easy to remove now :silly:

This is a sweet idea, but is there something like plastidip that will not pick up lint/flake? I'm thinking of the rubberized surfaces on some cases etc. That would also be kind of cool
Hello all, just received my SGP Ultra Flip Cover in "blue green" today. Will post photos tonight.
http://www.spigen.com/samsung-galaxy-s3-case-ultra-flip-series.html
The case feels very nice. The front cover sits nice and flat when you flip it to the back. Remains comfortable to hold when the case is open. I carry my phone in my front pocket most of the time, so i like the added protection the cover gives you. Still waiting on my curved screen protector too, so once i get that i can let anyone know if there is any screen peel from the case.
Let me know if you have any questions!

This one is an actual case though Partly the reason I returned my original flip cover from samsung, but it was so damn sexy.
Pictures are up. I hope they came out well enough.
Hows the durability of this case? Ive had the official samsung flip case for a little less than a month now and its already peeling at the edges. i like having the flip cover but need something that will last.

I've had mine since late November and its getting to the point where I need to replace it. On the back the blue leather is peeling at all the corners, the edges of the cover are all frayed, and on the inside the fold where you fold it behind to use the phone is pretty grimy and stained. The inside felt material is too light of a color, so every bit of dirt you get on it shows. I'm a pretty messy person though so your mileage may vary.
If you are a tidy person this might work for you but I'm pretty rough with my phones. Also, the case won't protect your phone if you drop it on the top or bottom edges as it doesn't cover those sides. Lastly, it does add a bit of bulk to what is a very slim phone. Might as well get an otterbox as this point...
Hi xda dev members! Yesterday when i took a 100m run, i fell off and the watch pop out from my hand. And after that i realise that i no longer can use this watch because the band just cant be 'locked'

I couldn't tell for sure, but it sort of looks maybe like the latch is bent (if not, ignore this). The latch should be almost a 90 angle sticking straight up, maybe angled a hair to the right if sticking straight up and looking from the power button side. Sadly, I couldn't get a clear enough picture at the right angle, but perhaps you could find some to compare. Also try watching some YouTube reviews of the watch that tend to linger on that area. That may be helpful.
If you were having the same issue as me, I fixed it by bending the bottom curved piece more inward. If the two curved pieces don't look right when it's closed, this could be your problem also.
Attached a couple images to try and illustrate this, I think I could even stand to get the curved pieces to line up a little more, but my wristband has a pretty strong latch going so I'm happy as is.
I have the same problem .. did you solve by bending the piece. I could not solve

I tried this now and it seemed to work! Thank you so much for your solution!
Worked for me too
I actually bought a rubbishy eBay strap as I couldn't fix my old one, that strap snapped then I found this thread, bent the clasp as shown in the picture and my original strap is perfect again! Thank you so much for this tip!
