Anyone have any ideas on where I can download the stock ICS apps for the New Sony Beta that was just released? I'm not really digging on the Sony versions of messenger, contacts, calendar, etc.

You should be able to find them in a CM9 rom.
Thanks! I think I did a titanium backup for all my apps when i was running on cm9. I will see what happens when I try to restore them.
Maybe they will just automatically replace the system apps. I'll have to change to a kernel with root when I get home tonight. I'll let you know how it goes.

Those are the latest gapps
I looked through that zip file you posted and I do see mentions of contacts, but I don't think it actually replaces the contact app, just the sync feature. Also did not see the message app either.
I have already downloaded and installed a gapps zip, but it did not replace the sony messenger, contacts, etc with the stock ones. It just isntalled the market, framework, and a couple other apps like search and voice search.
I'll see what happens after trying to restore them from titanium backup.
Just an update. Ran titanium backup after flashing kernel with root. It restored my data for messenger, calendar, etc, but did not restore the actual apps.
Turns out you can install the messenger app separately, but not the dialer or contacts. For now i'm downgrading back to my stock verizon r800x ftf. Was hoping for more of a vanilla ics experience rather than all of the sony stuff.

So,
everytime I flash a ROM, I have to manually delete and merge my contacts. Is there any way to preserve what I've already done? Will Titanium do this?
Also, is there any way to preserve where I have placed apps on my home pages? I can never remember which apps I put where, and I always get confused for a few days after flashing when I can't find apps.
Thanks
if your contacts are saved through Google, it will automatically sync them every time you log in to your Google account when you flash a new rom.
Not sure about the stock launcher, but I use ADWlauncher which has the ability to back up the screen configuration and launcher settings to SD, and restore them in the new rom. Works flawlessly

Yes! Titanium back up will do it. just make sure that you do all apps and system data.
Thanks all, tit pro worked perfectly and even restored home screens minus widgets.

I don't have a problem with the way the facebook looks but I would like to update the app though? Does anyone know if I can just update this like any other apps?

If you're trying to update FB for Android, you'd have to uninstall it first from your phone with Titanium Backup or something similar. You'd lose how it looks though with the update.
EDIT: That is if you're trying to update FB and it is giving you the cannot install message, you'd need to uninstall the original first.
Thanks. I was able to remove uninstall it with Titanium Backup but when I tried installing the facebook app from market it said that it was incompatible. Do I need to install it a different way? Sorry I'm a noob this is like my second custom ROM that I have tried.

After uninstalling, try a reboot of your phone, and then re-installing from the Market.
Thanks a lot. Worked liked a charm.
There are some facebook, gmail, etc. mods in the Themes section and created by Fernando Sor (if not mistaken he did a lot of work, excellent work with bored on IncRom 1.6). Several different screens including transparent. Gingerbread & Froyo versions
I also like IncRom 1.6. Using it with chads kernel (12/23 for sense). Works like a charm
Here is LT28i Stock Roger JB: Deodexed, Prerooted, Debloated and DeGoogled with Nakedbrowser integrated.
All Roger bloatware removed. All social apps, facebook, twitter etc. removed. All Google apps removed. Google Services Framework removed. Google one time initialization removed. Sony update removed.
This rom is deodexed by me, unlike the previous one that was just prerooted and therefore moved to general section. Rom is very light (only 355mgb in zip) and battery conscious. K9 mail and Textsecure can replace stock SMS and Conversations. Gibberbot can replace any messaging app. All three are open source and freely available on the internet (gpl license).
You must be rooted and have CWM recovery, as is always the case with CWM flashing.
Instructions:
1. Start recovery, mount system, cache and data. Format each (you can do instead data erase/factory reset, but that won't get rid of everything).
2. Flash the rom.
If you were on JB LT28h, you are all set, just reboot. If you were on ICS, DON'T REBOOT. Instead do the following:
3. Turn off your phone and flash Roger stock JB FTF with flashtool. Untick everything but kernel; exclude everything, but baseband. You need LT28i basebands, as it has been reported that ICS basebands produce crappy results on JB: problems with H/H+ and/or LTE. Also, if your LT28at is simunlocked, by flashing Roger basebands, you can restore T-Mobile's H and H+ (1700), which is blocked in AT&T firmware.
WARNING: If you were on ICS and you don't do the third step, you will end up in a boot loop.
After boot, you will have to reinstall Busybox and CWM, which were not incorporated in this rom. Remember, without busybox, you won't be able to install CWM.
To lovers of Google apps: you can install them on your own. They are freely available.

Would you please tell me the benefit of using Rogers instead of Generic International firmware?
LT28i has a different hardware: radio and frequencies. It has lte, which LT28h doesn't.
LT28h has better H+ upload speed. This requires software changes. I had problems with lte conection when I installed LT28h rom (and used ICS LT28i radio): breaking down, loss of packets and improper switching. Those problems went away with Roger, which is the only officially released rom for LT28i.
Will try this rom out. Have no problem getting Google back on here so thanks. Well report back.
Can you add pic if u cant ill add it when i flash.

Here is the latest battery usage screen shot. Pretty good. I am starting to feel like I have my good old Nokia usage.
this is better for at&t ion? I have lt28h with ics baseband and it is crappy the signal is very bad.
Just flash Roger's baseband and you will see improvement.
I will try your rom, sounds real good.
Edit-
Had problems with google. Since it is degoogled. Can you add a version with google? Or a gapps zip or something like that? Thanks
You should have no problems installing Google apps. Just search xda forums or the internet. They are freely available. But if you install them, your phone will become laggy again and your battery will die in 10 - 12 hours.

Flashing wouldn't do. This rom does not have Google Services Framework. I would try direct install starting from Google store. Googleplay may install GSF, but keep in mind that GSF is primarily responsible for lagging and battery usage. Through this your phone is almost always connected to Google servers and transmits info about everything you do including keystrokes etc. Without mentioning privacy issues, this makes your processor work overtime and kills the battery.
Android is the best OS around, because it is based on Linux, but only so if you deGoogle it. Yes, you will lose Googleplay, but I am yet to find a single application that cannot be downloaded from other sources. Note, I am not talking about getting paid applications. I am talking about free apps that are available at Googlestore. They are all available elsewhere.

I agree with what you just said, and yes it is a great idea. But in my case, without google my contacts would not sync. I do not care about google play because I use aptoide or blackmart... It is better lol. what I used to do was to turn automatic sync off and sync manually.

I no longer have deleted apps, but I would look into Spetre's deodexed LT28h system/apps and look for googlesync adapter. I would then put it into your system/apps (with appropriate permissions) and see if that helps. You may also need to install google account (also in that rom), but I am not sure if it would work absent GSF.

Try this:
http://yadi.sk/d/sfsmY8IJ7vsNW
It contains 4 files: Google backup transport; Contacts sync adapter; Calendar sync adapter; and Google Login Service They are from Roger's rom.
I would start with contacts sync, if still doesn't work, add google backup and then google login. They have to be installed in system with usual permissions. That's all I can do. Good luck.

Got another mind bongler with my first time flashing. I'm using titanium backup and since I'm gonna flash from stock note 2 with touchwiz to CM with vanilla android, am I supposed to backup all user apps + system data? I've read that if you restore touchwiz apps and Samsung closed network apks onto a phone without touch wiz or the stock rom it might mess your phone up or put it in a loop. So... 1)do I back up everything and then when I restore do I only select my user apps(apps ive downloaded) and system data(sms, contacts, etc)? Or do I restore everything on to my phone after I wiped and flashed? 2) are the red labeled apps the apps I'm supposed to not restore? Do I restore the white, green and yellow labled apps only? This is all on titanium backup premium edition! Thank you for the help!
NEVER RESTORE SYSTEM APPS. It will mess up your phone especially if it replaces important things like settings.apk or systemui. Just do your user apps and you should be fine but a lot of people nowadays say its just better to redownload everyting off the play store
Does Cyanogenmod come with no apps? Except for the basic system apps like phone dialer contacts camera etc. And your sure just user apps will be okay? What about my system data? Like messages emails, and call logs?

Ya it only has basic system apps then whatever they are bundling nowadays (focal, cm file manager ect) you need to flash a gaaps package to get the play store, youtube, gmail ect. User apps should be fine. Call logs and messages need to be backed up with a third party app. I think you can back up messages to a .xml in tibu. Email should auto back up and redownload when you sign in
Call logs and messages can be backed up with titanium, and restored. I do it all the time.

You can backup and restore your non-system apps, the ones downloaded from the Play Store for example, but you shouldn't restore the app data until you know what you are doing (some will work, some won't) - apk's only.
You definitely don't want to backup and restore system apps as mentioned above.
You can backup and restore text messages, phone log and such, but not settings etc.
Don't bother with calendar entries and contacts, they should be backed up and restored by Google

Hi,
After a factory reset to Lollipop 5.0.2, I don't seem to have the Contacts or Phone app anymore. How can I solve this?
The background story is as follows:
I recently resat my Z1 Compact and installed Lollipop 5.0.2. Earlier I had a CyanogenMod version, but it had some annoying bugs, so I decided to go back to stock Android.
I used Titanium Backup to backup apps and user data from CM. When I tried to restore these apps and userdata in Lollipop, I got error messages all the time, saying "android.process.acore", "android.process.phone", "Phone", "Top Contacts" and "Contacts" had stopped working. Trying to get rid of these error messages, I cleared the data and uninstalled some apps related to Phone and Contacts, but the error messages kept coming.
I therefore did a factory reset again. I discovered that I did not have any contacts synced on my phone, so I tried to sync them.
It turned out I couldn't find neither the Contacts app or Phone app on my phone. It is therefore impossible to enter the settings in the Contacts app to make the phone sync contacts.
I have tried searching, but I haven't found a solution.
What can I do to fix this?
Thanks in advance.

Sounds like you may have to reflash. Did you check /system/app? Are they there? If. So, you could try clicking on base.apk, and see if they reinstall, or try to get a stock apk from another user. I'm currently not on stock ROM, so I can't. I came across this thread recently, http://forum.xda-developers.com/z3/themes-apps/xperia-z3-apks-t3059426 - it's for Z3, but they might work, or maybe there's a similar thread for z1c, (I haven't seen it). Hope that helps.
Thanks for your answer.
The only relevant apps I could find in /system/app, was ContractsSIM. I'll try to find a thread with stock apps for z1c like you suggested, if not, I'll try the app from z3. If that doesn't work either, I guess I'll have to reflash again.

1. if you switch from a custom ROM back to stock always make a clean install (full wipe)
2. NEVER restore apps with Titanium Backup from CM to stock - lots of problems
Full Wipe - flash stock ROM - install all apkĀ“s new - finish
Ok, great, I'll try that. ?
By the way, I haven't been able to reboot into recovery mode. It's like that possibility doesn't exist after I flash to stock Lollipop 5.0.2. That means I haven't been able to try to install Xposed (which I don't know if would work at all, though...). Any idea why that is, and how I could fix that?

If you flashed stock ROM via Flashtool, you no longer have root or recovery, etc., unless it was a pre-rooted ftf. You'll have to reroot, and flash recovery.
Edit- don't know if you figured it out yet or not, but. I came across this today - http://forum.xda-developers.com/cro...-collection-stock-files-sony-devices-t3142349
