Hey everybody!
I am a HUGE Mass Effect fan. And I mean HUGE. So I decided to mod my galaxy nexus to look more Mass Effecty.
This will be a multi-step project over Easter break.
The first thing that I did is order a custom laser etched battery door (Thanks Android etch!) and it came out brilliant!

Step 2 is the touchstone induction charging mod detailed here Parts are on the way I ordered them today
Step 3 is a custom paint job. I have a question on this one. What kind of paint would work best on this phone? Model paint? Also how can I safely remove the verizon logo?
Step 4 is a custom icon theme. My buddy (soon to join the forum) is helping me with this. The theme will be CWM flashable and have custom icons as well as custom navigation buttons! Suggestions appreciated.
I'll update with more pictures as I progress in the mod.

Thats pretty cool. If I were to do something like this. I would try to find or make a vector image of Commander Shepard in an action pose to go along with the N7 image.
But still cool nonetheless.
I'm Commander Shephard and this is my favorite battery door in the Citadel.
Big fan here as well. Played all 3 with my Paragon Infiltrator Shephard. I won't go into details of the ending though lol.
Bit of a setback. The inductive charging modification doesn't quite work with the custom battery door so tomorrow I will order a modified design on an extended door. Thinking of Normandy SR2 right above the n7. That or "Fight for the lost".

So I made a lego dock for my wife's iphone before ( you can see it in the picture ) and figured until we got some good ones come out for the Captivate I would just steal some more of my son's legos and make me a dock for my Captivate.

Dude, that's AWESOME. I need to make one that holds my phone in landscape mode that way I can use the desk dock and my phone as a clock "radio".
I wonder if my knex would work well...

Oh I am sure it will. I was thinking about doing the same with mine, and actually I am quite sure it would be VERY easy to make it work in both landscape and horizontal mode..

Didn't put this in Themes, since it doesn't exist yet.
Anyways, I was thinking about going ahead and finally diving into theming... however I didn't want to just go with what's been done before. I wanted to create something new. Something different. Something that doesn't try to be something it isn't (yes, I stole that from the Google event speech).
Sat down with photoshop and 3 hours time. This is what I came up with, and I'm here for opinions:

+ lit up = activated
x darkened = deactivated
Just a thought
Also if you could make one with a more neutral colored theme I would be sure to use it. Blue and yellow reminds me of my most hated elementary school

I was thinking along the lines of "X" for turn it off (since it's on), and "+" for turn it on (since it's off). I can see what you're thinking though.
I was building it on a complementary color system, but I can look into other colors too.

I'll look into changing the yellow, since nobody seems to like it.
I like it. Especially the X being the only, If you follow the Slenderman mythos that is the operator symbol. I like it cause it says that the item with the symbol is in operation.

Also, does anyone know if drop-shadows (or just a black glow) are possible in a theme?

I wonder what a red back cover would look like on a Blue? I guess that'd be ugly. Would be neat to see all the combos of colors though, someone at a store should post a video.
How ironic though that BIG RED Verizon didn't get the Red one.

I have to admit, I thought it was going to be MUCH gaudier than that. That is surprisingly good looking to me. I am actually considering swapping my Pebble Blue for it.

I just wanted to let everyone know about Gruver Concepts' laser etched battery doors. These guys have been great to work with and have done awesome work on custom doors for my Galaxy Nexus and my E4GT.
If you run your phone "naked" but still want some customization that you can't get any other way, I can't recommend these guys enough!
Here's a pic of the E4GT battery door, they did a custom version of the NTT Docomo Galaxy Nexus "Android Circuitboard"

Depending on the size and scope of the design you want, they range from 25$ for smaller simpler designs to 45$ for large full door designs with free shipping in the US.

Well you just gave me back my donation . OH well.. anyways the next color i plan on doing is a Royal Blue. It'll be dubbed Royal Zenergy. Is there anything specific somebody would like to see? Or changed? Ive been trying to find a better holo background.. but nothing fits as good as the current one to my eyes anyways.
Also i spent a good deal of time last night creating toggles... and they look great on the computer... but i didnt realize the pixel sizes.. which is too small something like 64x64 -_- so they look big here.. but on the phone are small. So i have to redo em

Do you guys think 2 bucks is too pricey? I mean i put quite a bit of work into it with all the inversion coding and image work. I felt 2 bucks was good considering ive seen themes as high as 4 almost 5 bucks before.

I pretty much stay, or atleast always go back to you Uber Jelly theme, so a holo blue theme of Zenergy would probably be my new fav!
the softkeys on this theme are probably the nicest i have seen in a theme. love the two-tone. one thing is maybe a different font on the dialer. it is really hard to read. other than that, this is one of the best ive seen. cant wait to see other colors.
