Try redownloading the .tar
try another tar all together... ec05 or older just to see if you can get it running.

both good ideas but with the post count i will assume that you are new if not don't take offence are u using the stock usb cable if you are there is your problem if its new then try different usb port choose a port in the back of the comp and ill pm
the old .tar i have for you also a pit and use the older version of odin
Yes, you are sponged. As suggested try a different cable. You can also try pulling the battery out, plugging the phone into the comnputer andtry to get into download mode, then try to Odin it. Some people have had success this way.

completely dead means stuck at boot or no sign of any powering on?
first thing I would try is a JIG, force it into download mode and see if u can flash the original firmware
for firmware download, I recommend sammobile.com. They also have guides showing how to do so If you are uncertain or new to this
If u dont own a JIG and not willing to wait for one to be shipped, u can build it your own. it is pretty simple, just couple of resistors and a micro usb port
oh, and dont be shy about what you have done. Provide the essential details always for better assistance

Will your computer recognize it? If you connect it to your computer with the USB cable I mean. If it only makes 3 beeping noises (the computer) and doesn't recognize it, and the phone doesn't turn on at all you will need either a JIG service or a JTAG service (most likely JTAG)
Thank you 4 ur help
I will make my own Jig but can you please help with a guide 4 how to use the Jig to force flash new rom?
Dears at XDA.
I managed to get a Galaxy Gio mobile for my kid. I noticed that there are somethings wrong in the software, so i downloaded the original firmware and put the phone on download mode. Then as usual used Odin to install the firmware. By accident, the cable slipped from the laptop and the process failed in odin. I tried to perform the process again with no luck. I tired to switch the phone on but a strange (mobile..!..pc) logo appears.
I cannot enter to recovery mode (CWM) anymore.
I can enter download mode...
I can enter to RAMDUMP screen (i don't know what it is used for).
I tried every version of odin with no luck ( it stuck in the SetupConnection and never go on)
i re-downloaded the firmware and it the same.
I tried the HemidallOneClick application with no luck... it keeps saying FAILED.
So, please help me guys.
U can enter download mode...:sly: that means u still got it. Flash the firmware again & do post the exact error if u get any.…or post screenshots(if possible).
Try with different ports. Maybe ur port has malfunctioned due to slipping of cable. USB ports at the back are good to use.
Note: use the correct name of ops file.

Thanks Galaxy_Rohit for your response.
I have already found the solution for my problem few days ago.
The problem is that:
- You should use ONLY Odin_multi_downloader_v4.42 not any other version.
- Odin should be on the root of the drive (D:\) in my case. I faced the problem because it was in deeply nested folders.
- Nothing else.

So it appears on a com port in Odin? What stock ROM was on your phone before you flashed a custom ROM?
Yes but odin only says: <ID:0/004> SetupConnection.. and don't continue... I don't remember the ROM, but it was custom ROM. Do you think with SD card I can make it running? I got a SD card, got the files, but don't know how to transfer the files to the SD card, becouse I don't have adaptor to my PC... Can anyone make the card, copy the files and send them to me, so I just move them to my SD card and give it a try?
So the phone does show up in Odin on a com port? Can you post a screen shot of the Odin screen after you try flashing?
What does your phone say when in download mode?
What ROM are you trying to flash in Odin?

I cant get it to download mode, its hard bricked, cant use buttons, cant get to recovery or download its turned off I think...
I see the phone is recognized in Odin on Com 4 which leads me to believe it is in download mode. When you connected the phone to your computer, did you see anything on the phone's screen?
It may be failing because you are trying to flash a 4.1.1 bootloader onto your phone which may have a 4.3 or 4.4.2 bootloader. Do not check the re-partition option and try Odin 3.07.
Odin v3.07 doesnt recognise it.
Try uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers. If it doesn't appear in Odin 3.07, you may have to have the phone jtagged.
Okey guys my phone is working normaly now. When I installed the unbrick image on the SD card it booted from it, managed to make it to download mode, but I had problems with odin. So I just put the last ROM i was with. I pushed the power button clicked restart -> recovery and from then I installed the ROM , but the problem still remained. THe phone was booting only with the SD card, so I looked for bootloader, downloaded it, put it on the phone and bam everything was okey then. Thanks for all who helped me with this, hope this post will help to other guys with bricked phones
Hi guys, I have a S2 bricked that was turned off until yesterday, when I decided to try to make it come back to life: I actually succeeded (phone was working), simply restoring the stock firmware with Odin, but then when I tried to install the custom recovery, it bricked again. From then on I was never able to recover the phone again, because Odin simply stopped at factoryfs.img or hidden.img every time. I tried to solve the problem several times with several online tutorials, but nothing. Please, someone write me, otherwise I don't know what to do anymore. Thanks in advance.:fingers-crossed:
Lets see if we can revive and keep another Galaxy S2 device going.. Random things to try / consider..
1. Different USB port - maybe a USB 2.0 or a port directly connected to the mainboard that you know is controlled by an Intel chipset.
2. Different USB cable - a quality cable with a better fitting micro usb male end... *** REMOVE any cases ***
3. Different version of ODIN.. maybe an older one from the era of the phone.. My rule of thumb.. try the latest on hand.. for Odin its 3.14.4.. if the latest fails and you're serious at getting something to work.. then the version that matches the era of the device.. so Odin 3.07 etc.
4. Having trouble flashing an ODIN Rom? Try just the recovery TWRP.. and see if you can access zip files etc.. and try a custom ROM just to bring it back alive...
So if you're able to bring it back alive.. suggest using TWRP to backup the device.. before trying anything else further.
