Bricked/dead SGS,

Hello guys, i have a problem with my sgs .. after downgrade from jv9 to froyo i've got my sgs bricked.. cannot enter do download mode by 3 button combo and by usb jiig is well ( jig is working, checked on sgs2) only thing happening is when i connect it by usb cable to my laptop i getting info the windows cannot find the driver for it and after few seconds is disconnecting.
Any ideas how to get it back to life ?

What happens when you turn it on normally?
At what screen does it stop?
Can you enter recovery mode?

its totally dead.

Remove the battery, wait a few minutes ( In fact, 30 sec should be alright ) the put it back. Press power button, if you see the phone -- triangle -- pc image, then just remove the battery again, put it back and plug your jig. If you see nothing i'm almost sure your screwed.

Steps:
First Remove your battery and wait 60 seconds
Then put the battery back in
There will be a small hole in the right side of the camera like a soft reset hole
take a paper clip
insert it in the hole and wait 25 seconds while pressing it in
then go into the download mode but the volume down +home button + power button
If the button method doesn't work try using the jig
Now it should work

Can you try running USBDeview from http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/usb_devices_view.html . You should see all your existing devices like mouse, keyboard etc. Then plug the phone in, and if it shows up in USBDeview tell me what it says in these columns for the phone device:
VendorID, ProductID, USB Class, USB SubClass
You may need a couple of tries to get all the numbers if it's disconnecting after a few seconds.
I'm interested because it could be the type of brick we are trying to fix in this thread where the bootloaders have been corrupted and it is going into processor recovery mode. We don't have a fix for you but if I'm right it will confirm that you need to get the phone reflashed by Samsung. Ask them how they do it while you're there.

hmm i cannot see any hole on the right side of the camera.. there is only connector looks like gps antenna.
i tried on 3 different batteries and i tried to take battery out for few minutes and still not work..

hmm so what if there is that bootloader fault?
this is o2 brand phone so do you think guys can i just go to o2 and say that stops working after kies upgrade or some rubbish like that ? do you think that will work ?

Just say to them i was updating my phones software via kies and my pc crashed because of some other application so it got interrupted in the half way now i can boot into my phone.

do you think they will accept it ? i mean .. if they will fix it and say this is my fault then i'll need to pay for this fix ?
anyone guys has experience with it ? how long it takes ?

Yes, they won't be able to tell what caused it, though your custom firmware could all reappear if they only reflash the bootloaders. But at least your phone will be fixed.

actually i was flashing the branded o2 froyo firmware while it happens.. but i got info from odin unsuccessfully flashed...

Try reinstalling the USB drivers from my signature.

The brand market can see if u rooted the phone,
But i i also got this kind of brick, when i instaled a 9000m modem to my int i9000,
what i did i heated the phone, this is not a joke, a heated the phone used adb to enter download mode and i flashed stock 2.2 from samfirmware.com
The phone newer worked well so my provider changed the phone and didn't saw that i root it.
try adb and heating than the 3button combo.

Yep, that confirms that your initial bootloader is trashed and the CPU has gone into USB recovery mode because it couldn't load the bootloader. The only fix currently is to get Samsung to reflash it, or get someone with a Riffbox or other JTAG equipment to fix it. Heating the phone will not help you, neither will reinstalling Samsung phone USB drivers.

Well mate; if we are talking about the usual samsung galaxy s , when we open the lid there definitely is that small gutter with a hole in it . That little diaphragm can be pressed by a blunt pin.

Your provider should fix the phone no problem.

Remove magldr if u want to sell ur device
This also solve problems for those who on pressing the pwr,camera and volume down button doesnt work,and it helps remove magldr so that u can sell ur device even after installing custom roms

for documentation:
i have solved the problem with a jig adapter. the description from your last post doesnt help me because it requires entering debug mode, but my phone couldnt go into debug mode when it haves wrong rom on it.
jig adapter is working very good. so dont be worry use jig adapter

i u do as i say u shouldnt get this because this rom removed the previous rom and makes the error dissapear.(that error is due to the rom on ur phone).

I just install original NODO and now its ok

[Q] My galaxy gio is stuck.. help plz!

Dears at XDA.
I managed to get a Galaxy Gio mobile for my kid. I noticed that there are somethings wrong in the software, so i downloaded the original firmware and put the phone on download mode. Then as usual used Odin to install the firmware. By accident, the cable slipped from the laptop and the process failed in odin. I tried to perform the process again with no luck. I tired to switch the phone on but a strange (mobile..!..pc) logo appears.
I cannot enter to recovery mode (CWM) anymore.
I can enter download mode...
I can enter to RAMDUMP screen (i don't know what it is used for).
I tried every version of odin with no luck ( it stuck in the SetupConnection and never go on)
i re-downloaded the firmware and it the same.
I tried the HemidallOneClick application with no luck... it keeps saying FAILED.
So, please help me guys.

U can enter download mode...:sly: that means u still got it. Flash the firmware again & do post the exact error if u get any.…or post screenshots(if possible).
Try with different ports. Maybe ur port has malfunctioned due to slipping of cable. USB ports at the back are good to use.
Note: use the correct name of ops file.

Thanks Galaxy_Rohit for your response.
I have already found the solution for my problem few days ago.
The problem is that:
- You should use ONLY Odin_multi_downloader_v4.42 not any other version.
- Odin should be on the root of the drive (D:\) in my case. I faced the problem because it was in deeply nested folders.
- Nothing else.

Please help me! I want to go back to the stock rom but it won't let me :(

But now I am stuck in a boot loop i think ( it won't do anything but showing me the lg sign )
I tried downloading the kdz file but there isn't 1 site for the Dutch one @ NLD/Netherlands (tbh there is but all the links are down)
I can't boot into the cwm either and I also can't do hard reset...
Can anyone tell me what to do?

I found a sollution for this.
Download LG Mobile Support tool ( http://lg-support-tool.en.lo4d.com/ )
Put your phone in download mode "Hold the VolumeUP + VolumeDOWN Button and plug in the usb cable from your device to your pc [DON'T PRESS THE POWER BUTTON], let it install the drivers. ( To be sure it found you'r drivers, you should press on : Install Drivers
Once you installed your driver of the e98x ( mine is e986 ) Press on Extra functions - Upgrade-error recovery.
Make sure it found your device and make sure you are connected to the internet "IT WONT WORK WITHOUT INTERNET CONNECTION"
Launch it and it will reset your phone to new ( it did for me )
Don't get mad if you lose you're data T_T this worked for me so it should work for you to

Nope, aint working since it says that my battery isn't fully charged. but i even tried the battery of a friend of mine and it says the same..

are you able to enter into the recovery by pressing pOWER + VOLUME UP ? the device must be turned off and to be sure, pull battery and charging cable off and put battery back to do the pressing combo.

how do you get into the recovery mode?
please do not mistake cwm and recovery mode, because cwm is your recovery mode.
so please tell what steps you were using so that we can help you

well, I tried powering off the phone----holding volume DOWN+UP and plugging the usb into my lg.
I also tried that while I took out my entire battery but the same results

Ehm guys, I would like to know how to get my phone back to the stock image. I am still stuck on the error which says my battery is empty when I try to restore it but I quess it is because my phone thinks it is en E980 while it is an e986
Or it is because I flashed Madmacks kernel or smthing. Any solutions? :C I just wanna go back to the stock image D:

1. connect ur phn to ur pc and install flashtool from step 4.
2.install drivers of ur mbl
3.download the kdz firmware file u want from here http://www.lg-phone-firmware.com/index.php?id_mod=25
4.now follow the steps provided in the thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2797190
5.its better to choose cse flash as i did that(when i chosen normal flash,the update stopped saying some error.so disconneted my net connection and tried again.it worked)
6.if u follow the above steps correctly,ull get ur phn back within 6 minutes.
(sorry for my english) and please let me know if ur phn is back.

Unfortunately I don't have the 986 and didn't catch that was your specific model. If you're in a bricked mode already and have access to your original FW then its worth a shot for recovery. YMMV

follow the first guide "KDZ Flashing Method"
make sure you have your internet connection disabled when you start LG Flash Tool and that you are using Windows 7, i dont know if it will work on windows 8, but im sure it wont work on winXP.

i have smT805 but that is not start after upgrade with odin i have also try to recover emergancy firm with kies but failed to get that code after i try with odin and pick firmware of UK from sammobile and upgrade with odin 3.9 but somehow i was able to get into download mode but after instrallation it keep restart at point which shown in picture...
Any body who can help me i will be very thankfull to you . Plz Guyz

I think its trying to boot into recovery. Well I do see that knox isnt tripped either. Try holding power, home, vol up and down buttons at the same time and it should force a reboot

The only thing I can think of is flashing a custom recovery. But you still have warrenty as knox isnt tripped. Perhaps you can take it into samsung service center or call one? They should fix it for free as you havent tripped knox.

To solve this problem there is option (requires much time can be several hours):
1. Updating to the latest version of KIES
2. Run the KIES
3. Turn on your Tab and connect it to PC with KIES.
4. KIES Menu Tools -> Firmware Upgrade and Initialisation -> Model name SM-T805 -> OK -> S / N (Serial Number of your Tab) -> OK -> OK -> OK
5. Next step by step according to the instructions KIES

M not in my home contry right know i purchased it from UAE nd i also dont want to root this device ... is there any other way?

1. You can take the Download mode (ODIN MODE) with use of buttons, how in the second photo of your first message? In this mode you also have continuous restarts?
2. If you can take the Download mode (ODIN MODE) with use of buttons, and you have no restarts in this mode, so with Download mode (ODIN MODE) started you have to execute par. 1-5 from the message #6 for restoration of an original firmware with original region code of CSC..
3. If you can't come into the Download mode (ODIN MODE) with use of buttons, so for run Download mode you have to use resistor JIG 301 kOm for this purpose (http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-tab-s/help/how-start-download-mode-resistor-jig-t2999838). Then if you have no restarts in this mode, so with Download mode (ODIN MODE) started you have to execute par. 1-5 from the message #6 for restoration of an original firmware with original region code of CSC..

Sir if your Download mode works well, then the easiest way to restore your Tab - is to run the Download mode and then execute p. 1-5 of the post #6. Now you do not need to install any official firmware from Sammobile. At this stage it can give you new problems (for example, loss of IMEI). Now for repair the problem of your Tab you need to install the official firmware for original region and CSC codes, which were initially installed on your Tab. This is important! To you will be helped by KIES (this program don't love here, but sometimes it does its job very well), which will find the right firmware using the model type and serial number of your Tab. You have to decide if you need it. Try to do this at least once, but for use of this option of repair you will need patience and good the Internet connection as it can take some hours. I do not think there's a quick way to solve this problem.
