[Q] Vanilla Dialer - Desire HD Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

This includes ICS Vanilla Dialer
I have discovered that the vanilla dialer has no function to add call on dialed number when allready in call.
E.g:
-Im in a call
-told to call rnd number to check something by caller.
-dial the number
and there is no "Call Out" button!
Is there a posibillity to edit the dialer to allways show a button for dial out, or is this impossible?
There is no sollution to what i´ve found on information that this is possible, or even where the button is located. There should be a way without going to contacts.
Thanks for replies!

Call Forwarding

Hello
i am looking for a program for call forwarding
so i can give some numbers and if they call that these numbers will be forwarded to another phone
all the other numbers shouldn't be forwarded
Does a program like this exist?
and so yes where can i find it
Greetz Hatchy
Nobody any Idea?
Is this So hard to find?
SPB Phone suite is capable of reject calls (accept white list, reject black list, reject all....) but i believe that it only rejects calls.
Maybe if you set up forwarding if busy it works....
The following codes are for call diverts:
Divert when busy: **67*(phone number)# then press call
To cancel it: ##67# then press call
Divert when out of reach: **62*(phone number)# then press call
To cancel it: ##62# then press call
Click to collapse
found it on google, not sure if it will work....
did you search at all???? or you let other people do what you want...
try searching "call divert application for ppc" or sth like that
thanx to all
"and yes i did search"
i could find it
greetz Hatchy
So what have you found?

[Q] How do i take down a number during a call?

Had this problem with my hero as well.
How do you take a number down if you are on a call?
ie if on a call asking for a number from the other person how do you write it down and use it for next call?
On nokias, the number you input stays after you hang up, so you can call, save etc.. But on Android, when you hang up the number you input disappears too!
AM i missing a way to do it (short of saving it to contacts (which i might not want to do), or dialling and hanging up)?
you can tap the number you enter which will dial the number you entered followed by immediately ending the call which will store it in your call history and return you to the original call all in about 2 secs. Not exactly elegant but works.
thats pretty much what i do, but its so silly to do it that way I thought ther MUST be a better way. I mean its not exactly a rare or unusual feature to need, is it? ;-)
I normally use a pen......Have done for a while now and it never fails
This applies to the stock dialer - don't know if it works like this on Sense.
Press Add Call, enter the digits. Now long-press the entered number. Select cut or copy. Then back button to cancel Add Call. After the call is over you can paste it back into the dialer the same way or into a contact.
Just tried, didnt work, no long press, any press just dials the number...
Now you've reminded me of another question:
The software usuuuaaaallly recognises number formats in emails or texts, and hyperlinks them to the dialer. HOWEVER Ive never been able to PASTE a number (copied from somehwere that the software didnt recognise as a number) into the sense dialer. Anyone can confirm this is not possible?
I'm unable to paste too on FroYo.
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
Ah, well it was worth a shot. I haven't spent more than a few minutes on a Sense phone so I'm not so well-acquainted with how the dialer works. I can confirm that the stock dialer of both Milestone's Eclair and N1's Froyo has an editable text field, in which one can long-press to get the "Edit Text" popup.
Can a Sense Android use an alternate dialer app?
there are thousands of notes apps thats what there for lol i think even htc has a notes widget for sence (i cant remember) neway yeah use your apps
There is an app which specifically does what you want. It's called Number Saver and it shows up in the notification bar whenever you make a call.
cool, will check it out!
Always weird that someone has to come up with an app for some function that should have been there to begin with, oh well!

[Q] Return To Dialer After Call Not Working

Not a really big deal, but I'm running Cyanogen 7 and I can't get the setting "return to dialer after call" to work. When I open the dialer I like for it to be on the dialer - not call log or contacts. Anyone have a suggestion to make this work? I have checked the box "return to dialer after call" but it doesn't seem to work.
Anyone??? How about a little help please?

Go Contacts EX /phone dialer?

Problem I am having is when I just dial 7 #s on the dialpad it does not set off my Google Voice. It puts the dashes in a weird place. Dialing a number it shows like this 808-123-3. The call can be made, but in order for me to get Google Voice to kick off I have to type. 704-808-1223. Then I get a prompt asking do I want to use GV. Is there a fix for this?

[Q] Wait and Pause in phone number

In the contacts app there is the ability to add wait and pause in a contact number. This can be used to automatically submit PIN codes, etc, into a dialed number.
This just doesn't seem to work for me. Anything after the comma or semicolon is completely ignored when dialing. Is there a way to enable it?
ANSWER:
Found it, thanks to poster in this thread:
