Go Contacts EX /phone dialer? - Galaxy S III Themes and Apps

Problem I am having is when I just dial 7 #s on the dialpad it does not set off my Google Voice. It puts the dashes in a weird place. Dialing a number it shows like this 808-123-3. The call can be made, but in order for me to get Google Voice to kick off I have to type. 704-808-1223. Then I get a prompt asking do I want to use GV. Is there a fix for this?

Google voice on sprint?

I think this may be more of a sprint thing then a Galaxy S2 thing but I am coming from T-Mobile, if I use Google Voice on my cellphone, do all my texts have to go through google voice? I have used google voice for a while now but on T-Mobile I had it just for my voicemails, everything else ran off the native apps, can I do that here?
i know there is a way to link your gvoice with ur sprint number.. also, im sure there is a way to forward your sms to your cell number..
Yes, keep your sprint number (do not port to google) but have everyone use your google number. All texts will go to google, AND to your phone. MMS will go to your phone only.
It works awesome.
got it figured out, thanks
I just told gvoice not to integrate with sprint and then I set conditional forwarding to my google voice number. I also had to set conditional forwarding on my t-mo phone to forward to my sprint number because I don't have time to stop by t-mo to buy a sim and reactivate the line after porting to avoid ETF on that account.

I used *28
my google voice setup
Hi
1. i had ported a phone number to google voice when i cancelled a line from verizon
a while ago.
2. just switched to sprint, and ported my verizon number to sprint.
3. after setting up phone, installed google voice and let it setup automatically. so there's some sprint integration, that you can't get around. also when the phone asks, choose, keep my google voice number
4.log into voice.google.com and clock the sprocket button, (lower one) and go to settings.
5. I clicked disable google voice next to the number
6. go back to google voice settings on your phone. logout
7. log back in, and do the setup
8. dial *38 ( you have to be on the sprint network, no roaming)
9. dial *28XXXXXXXXXX xxxxxxxxxx= your google voice number.
in this case
google voice should handle all your voicemails when people call your sprint number.
when you dial from your phone, you should be able to choose which number to dial out.
or in google settings choose to not use google voice's number as your outgoing number.
theres also a setting in the widget you can choose.
Its a little confusing, but it works.
also you might have to wait 15 minutes to change a google voice enable or disable setting on the voice.google.com part.
ok. google voice confuses me. so i live in the 918 area code. my google voice number is 918, but my cell is 816 where i went to college. EVERYONE has my college number. i'm trying to accomplish:
1. using google voice, while keeping BOTH my 816 number and my Google(918) number.
i installed gvoice on my SGS2 and it worked fine, but i had to select my sprint number, which makes my google number void after 90 days.
any gvoice expects out there? your help is appreciated.

[Q] Google voicemail question

I have a question about google voicemail. I have finally decided to use it instead of the sprint voicemail. I activated from my browser(voicemail only I didn't integrate google voice) and dialed the long number it told me to dial. I tested it and it works but there are 2 things I noticed about it and I was wondering if there is any way to change them. I set google voice up to notify me via the status bar. When I pull down the notification and tap it, it takes me to the sms app. Is there anyway to change this so that it takes me to the google voice app without making google voice my default sms app? The second thing is that when I dial my voice mail from my phone by either pressing and holding the number 1 on the key pad or saying voicemail on the voice dialer, it calls the sprint voicemail and it tells me welcome to sprint voicemail and that I have not setup my voicemail. Is there anyway to get it to default to dialing my google voicemail instead? I know the google voicemail is working because when I dial my cell phone and it drops into voicemail I hear the greating I recorded. Also if I manually go to the voice app, the voice message is there and I can play it.
You can change what number you dial with 1 in call settings. Google Voice works best with the app.
Turn off text notifications in your Google Voice settings to get rid of the notification problem.

[Q] Dialing conference call numbers

Does anyone know of a way to dial into a conference call from the calendar entry? I need to be able to tap on a number in the calendar entry and have it dial the number, wait, then dial a passcode and # to enter the conference call. It's something the Blackberry does very well. I know you can store a number in contacts with a pause or wait in it but I get a lot of conference call invites and they all have different passcodes so it would be impossible to store the number ahead of time. I've tried every combination of putting p, w, ";" or "," in the number in both the location line and in the body of the calendar event. I can always select the first number to dial it but it won't dial the passcode. I have to back out of the dial and look at the calendar again and try to memorize it and then go back into the dialer and manually enter the passcode. I'm using the email client on Blazer 4.0 to access my Exchange server calendar. Anyone found a way to do this? Trying to ditch the Blackberry completely but Android does lack some basic productivity functionality. Thanks.
I have same issue. Can't believe there's been no reply to this issue.
I have found a 'kind-of' work around.
1) Installed CopyNPaste
2) installed Go Contacts EX
THEN, when COPYING the 'number...ext' into the copy buffer,
Then using CopyNPaste to dial, and having the default app being the Go Contact EX app,
THIS WORKs and dials the phone number, then (with,,,,, pauses between the phone number and the extension) waits, then dials the bridge extension.
But when attempting to simply select the 'number....ext' from the calendar appt, Android defaults to using the default 'phone' app and only uses the beginning 'phone#' part of the 'phone#,,,,ext' that is displayed\selected in the calendar appt. Tried clearing all defaults against the 'phone' app. still uses the stock phone app to dial a number in a calendar.
This shouldn't be THAT big of a problem. But apparently is.

Google Voice + Messaging app integration issue

When ever I get a text to my Google voice number (I use native Google messaging app) from someone I know, I can see their name but number has changed. Its kinda annoying because it starts a new chat thread. I end up adding that "weird" number to my contacts to make it work properly. Has anyone been able to figure this out or adding server number to contacts is the only way to make it work?
There is no way around this issue, turn off text from Google voice and just text from the voice app.
When using the standard Messaging app and not the Google Voice app, messages are sent by proxy via a "Google Voice Access Number". The GVA number is that weird number you're seeing. You can call that number to connect to your friend's number, and they will see your GV number on the caller ID. As far as I know that access number is semi-permanent... so you can add it to your address book. It may change after several months at which point the call just won't go through.
To avoid this, disable "Receive text messages on this phone" under the Google Voice settings page from your browser and use the Google Voice app.
I just use the GV SMS Integration app. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mdrtools.apps.gvintegration&hl=en
Works flawlessly. No crazy numbers or anything. I just see their names as if I wasn't using Google Voice.
Quick trick

One thing i do to avoid this problem is save the google voice port number to my contacts i usually text the google voice created number or initiate the text via google voice app to avoid this problem.... hope this helped!
Thanks for all the info guys I really appreciate it.

[Q] Google Voice speed dial

I've searched and search but only found the obvious answers I wasn't looking for. My question is:
Is there any way to change the 1 to dial google voice and still keep my google voice and sprint numbers separate? I already have GV working on my phone the way I want, but I wanted to have the 1 call the google voice instead of Sprint VM. It seems the only way to do that is change my number to either Sprint and lose my GV number or change to GV and lose my Sprint number. Is there a script I can flash or edit to make 1 dial the GV instead of Sprint VM?

I've been looking for this too. It seems the 'voice mail provider' option in the "phone" settings menu doesn't exist on Samsung GS3 like it does on HTC devices.
I gave up after searching and just added my GVoice mail number to 2.
Annoying as crap tho
