Hello guys, I have a little problem with my Xperia Play. It's turned on automatic brightness and it's annoying me a lot... I searched whole setting, but I didin't found how to turn if off Any advices?
I use QuickSettings, when you change brightness level it will ask to turn off auto brightness.
What ROM are you using? Stock, CyanogenMod? and what Kernel? Try in settings-> display-> brightness and untick automatic brightness.

Stock, and there isn't any "Automatic Brightness" in Display settings
I highly recommend first you see if there is a firmware update for your device, Settings, About Phone, Update.... if there is none then you can always use this app... its a God send...

None of these 2 apps helped
If your phone isn't 2.3.3 or 2.3.4 than that's prob the cause
like he said check your update via OTA under Settings > About Phone > Update >
You'll need Data / 3G to update sadly its around 200-300 mb Over The Air Update file.
You'll also need a fully charged battery to update the phone.
2.3.3 and 2.3.4 and up will have Display > Automatic Brightness Tick Box.
It has box to turn on/off autobrightness but only if you have it set on max...
Android Version: 2.3.3

I have a stock rom with a wifi issue. If I disable wifi via the pull down settings and the phone freezes every time (causing a forced reboot and or battery pull) . If I turn off wifi via settings and it works.
* I've disabled the connection optimizer
* Disabled most samsung apps
* Disabled Wifi direct options
Any help would be appreciated!

The phone is not rooted. It's 100% stock.
We have two of these phones and both have the same issue.
Thanks
i have just rooted and installed recovery on my galaxy note 8 - 4.1.2. But i still have software update in my notifications... i understand i will lose my root if i update... how can i disable this notification?
Uncheck all in Settings > About > Wireless update (or similar naming, mine is set-up in Swedish)
EDIT: Switched to English interface, just to get it properly. System Settings > More (if you have a tabbed interface) > About device > Software update.
Sent from my brain using neural networks.

Hi all,
I have a problem with Velis Brightness Control, that I'm unable to hit the confirm/cancel button in the notification panel. I wonder if there's anyone having same issue as mine?
I'm currently using Phoenix Rom 16.7. Which is a 4.3 custom rom
I have to be honest that I did greenify some system apps, and also manually turn off some apps through application manager. Could that be the cause of that? Is a wipe data/factory reset is going to help?
Hope someone can provide a solution soon and thanks in advance~
So I tried doing it through the hidden menu but it doesnt work. Has anyone found another way to disable the notification without completely disabling Google Framework Service?

The update already downloaded itself so when I go to Software Updates there is no option to uncheck check and download automatically.
I have the latest official 8.1 ROM and don't want to update to PIE yet.
But notification about this update is just like the ones from iPhone, keeps coming back and I see no way to turn it off.
I've disabled automatic update in developer settings, but would like to disable checking for update and notification about it also.
In my other phones there always was system app called "Update" or "System-update" and stopping/disabling it was enough to stop bothering me.
Is there any way to disable checking for update and notification about existing update?
My phone is not rooted.
When the notification comes for the system update just slide it right/left but not all the way, just halfway across the screen and let it go. This way you'll see "snooze" and a "gear". Tap on the gear and then "Don't show notifications"

I'm sorry, English is my third language and sometimes I don't know how to make a correct accent on the specific part of the question
the main part of my question is to disable checking for update and after doing this notifications will disappear
I understand that I can just hide the notifications but I'd like to know how to solve this problem completely

I don't think there's any thing more you can do about it Disabling from Developer Settings and hiding the notification is all I can say about it
Disable automatic system updates in developer options.
If developer options are not enabled, activate by giving 7 clicks on "Build number" (Settings / About phone / Build number)
Go to System / Advanced / Developer Options / Automatic System Updates
Disable and no longer have automatic updates. When you want to update, you'll need to manually fetch.
What is keeping you from rooting and removing updater package from system/app? Especially if you are not planing to update to pie yet
