Well Wi-Fi functionality depends on your kernel
I had no Wi-Fi on Doom kernel but I do when using FXP kernel.
Network data is a different story though.
Maybe you can get your carriers APN data and manually enter it in settings

There are a couple of apps on the Play Store to boost your wifi signal, but in all I think there is no such thing.
Don't quote me on this, but I think the Wi-Fi signal was brought down to save battery. Although I have used other roms that had better signal I don't think there is too much you can do.

It all has to do with what tweaks are added, there is a tweak for wifi and 3G.
Heya.

I'm actually using the same ROM, there's been a recent beta update to 6.5. If using script tweaks doesn't work for you, maybe updating will improve your signal, I see Sniper has a new script baked in, thanks to a friend. Beware, though. Be sure to explicitly follow the flashing directions he provides in the OP. Partitioning your SD card is vital, I know because I've tried without it and ended up not having a browser app, and there could be more problems, idk, still smoothing things out. There are some enhancements though, and it's only a beta, so don't get your hopes up for something stable.

This question has been asked about 54,872 times. No. The app needs to be updated for JB.

Seriously..for the life of me I can't figure out how this question still comes up. We've had leak after leak and in every thread for every rom this is asked dozens of times. I'm not usually one to chime in on things like this, but it's become so ridiculous it's borderline laughable.
OP, this isn't really a dig directly at you, but for everyone that keeps asking. Simply searching or even reading a thread would have given you an answer.

Searched for the thread on here didn't see it and I don't use every Rom so if it's answered within the roms thread I'm not going to see it but thanks

Shouldn't matter if you use any ROM as long as it is Jellybean it's not going to work right now.
Ok that's needed to know man. Gave you a thanks

I hear you..that's why I said I wasn't really directing at you. More venting about the clowns that are in those threads still asking. You searched, so my hat's off. My apologies. Personally, I don't see a huge advantage to the upgrade. I'm staying on ICS for now. For me the battery has been better and can indeed tether if needed.

Apparently some one was able to get the bluetooth to work on there gs3 sharing to there mac book pro. Not wifi but something.

someone special just needs to "mod" the stock native sprint wifi app. its been done on past devices, epic, evo, etc., just don't get why the S3 is lacking when it comes to getting the native wifi app working, neither on ICS or JB.
it's annoying having to rely on third party apps and having to jump through hoops to get one working.
i'd gladly donate funds to make it happen if need be.

Simple solution just use an Aosp rom "WiFi tether for root users" app from play works great on any of em. I'm on Blackbean 6 now and use it all the time. Flawless rom, more customization than anything made & tether works.

Yeah, it's by using the fox fi app, from what I've heard. No wifi tethering but at least bluetooth is something.
Yea I here "no" over and over but that's not good enough lol. Why is it that this has worked on every other rom ever known to mankind but not the new jellybean? I've been emailing and donating trying to get something done but no response, Just it won't work. Anyone know why it won't work.

WiFi Tether does rely on some features of the kernel to work. Perhaps they (Sprint?) changed he Touchwiz kernel for Jelly Bean that broke WiFi Tether.

I think the GSIII for U.S. is not included in the program's driver list. The International version works though. However, there's a program you can download from the PlayStore called Easy Tether. After downloading, follow the instructions to download the Windows (or whatever your OS is). Transfer the program onto your computer and install. Then connect your phone to your PC and you'll have tethering thru USB.
One other thing. The free (unregistered) version will let you browse the Internet but you cannot access Secure sites. You need to upgrade to paid (registered) version in order to access the Secure sites (emails, etc.). It's only $9.99 (one time purchase).

To my knowledge you do have a problem and I don't. Same phone same carrier..... If you're not willing to try to fix your problem yourself and put the blame on vdt or the hardware.... Good luck my friend.
I was just trying to help you.... But quite frankly.... You know better than me....

At&t wifi hot spots and custom roms - access not allowed?

I'm on my first custom rom (paranoid 2.99) and no matter what I do I get an at&t page to log in to use wifi which is something I never needed to do in stock rom. I also can't use the website to get wifi access so far now it seems like I can't use any At&t wifi spots
So is it common for custom roms not to work? Or is it a potential bug that the developer needs to address?

No one else uses at&t wifi with a custom rom? Or rather has tried to?

Maybe you should have searched before you asked. You wouldn't have conflicting information then.
Also, why are you asking the same question in multiple threads? If you read the forum rules, it should be pretty clear where this sort of thing belongs.

Confused

After some searching I can only figure out that sprints s3 and virgin mobile phone are the same, true or false???
If it is true does that mean all the work here will work on my phone
Thx for any help I can get

Radios are different, I believe virgin is more like Boost. You can use ROMS here but you must remove asserts from the ROM 1st to keep from getting errors in recovery.

You should definitely read post 1 and 2 carefully HERE. A lot of info to take in. I know from experience that you can only have 3g and MMS, or 4g and no MMS on AOSP roms. If you flash the 4g fix it breaks MMS.
