You can buy one on ebay today.....

LOLzz... Returns not accepted, and the one on ebay supports micro SD cards. >_>
On a side note, I like the white usb able and charger. Also good to just see it in a box. Just boost my confidence that it is coming soon.
I called my local At$t store and they told me to call back on Sunday, the 25th and they would have details for me.
these gonna work on T-mo?
Geez I've never seen one in person and I'm already kinda bored of it. Wasn't this phone announced like last September?
It was announced in January of this year during CES. You're thinking of the 800.

Yes, it will but you might have to carrier unlock the phone. But your 3G won't work! If you don't mind using EDGE then you can go get it. Otherwise i would recommend you switch to att or buy the 710 from t-mo or wait for new phones to be released in T-mo//

There's been some rumblings that the 900 supports AWS, which would mean T-Mobile 3G support. I'll believe it when I see it.

I believe the AWS bands are for AT&T's LTE network so I don't think it would work. I wonder if there is any way you can flash a different radio so somehow it would work on T-Mobiles 3G/4G like the AT&T Galaxy Note.
mmmmann. i'd really pay for this if I could use it on T-mo
I could possibly get my hands on an AT&T Lumia 900 for free. But it seems I wouldn't even be able to use it here in Germany. Sucks balls. :/

preordering tommorow!
Anyone know if it's going to be available at Costco for pre-order on March 30th or if it will be available on launch date there?
Hey guys. I just got the lumia yesterday so if anyone has any questions let me know!
This is my 1st windows phone so I'm pretty juiced.
I really don't know too much about other windows phones but this one has visual voicemail and Internet sharing. So like tethering but without having to use a USB connection. Also the phone uses a micro sim. Just like the iPhone 4/4s.
But yeah ask away ill be more than happy to answer all questions. Thanks
EDIT: tried posting some pics but I guess I'm too new to post links...
Can you send video in MMS yet? I thought this was a launch date feature of the 900 but I could be wrong.

hey guys
I was wondering if there is anyone that has bought an unlocked TP2, and who has AT&T, could tell me if the unlocked version of the phone works with AT&T's 3G bands. I've been asking this question all around the rhodium forums, and I've been getting some very convincing answers, but I really need to hear it from someone who has actually purchased the phone and who has AT&T in the U.S.
and also, does anyone know if there is any form of warranty or insurance offered when you buy an unlocked phone?? that's one of my major needs, just in case something unexpected happens. If there isn't then I'm gonna have to wait until AT&T releases their "customized" version of the TP2. with all of AT&T's design flaws.
thanks!!
i dont believe so if i remember correctly it does not have 850 and 1900 band for highspeed...you would only get edge connection and make calls.
TP2 For USA?
I have also been looking high and low, I have located a decent website that really sets me at ease as a buyer the TP2 is not here yet, but it is still early- either way, the FAQ really set me at ease, I am planning my Tp2 to be purchased from them- not only is there an option to assure connectivity in the US on all levels of at&t'S network, but the freq's upon which the phone one purchases are listed on the site- AT&T to my understanding is on 850 & 1900 mhz- which is clearly displayed here- not only that, but here is a "compatibility" chart where one can actually select the network of any proposed purchase-
http://www.cellhut.com
Like I said, the FAQ really made me feel at ease- plus they offer an additional warranty along with the manufacturer's (for purchase)-
that is the plan, I will definitely post any positive results- It is tempting to just buy a new TyTNII sans the AT&T crap, plus the front camera, instead of waiting for the TP2...

Sorry to disappoint you but the best option is to wait for the AT&T release. Here's why:
Starting with the Touch Diamond and the Touch Pro, HTC released a European model which does not contain AT&T 3G bands and is only useable on the EDGE network which is much slower. Correct me if I am wrong, but I think the only brand new factory unlocked versions have been the European or Asian models. The price is also much higher for an unbranded unlocked phone. All indications are that they will be doing the same thing with the Touch Pro2. The following is the specs on the TP2 straight from HTC's European website: Here's the link.
NetworkHSPA/WCDMA:
Europe/Asia: 900/2100 MHz
Up to 2 Mbps up-link and 7.2 Mbps down-link speeds
Quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE:
Europe/Asia: 850/900/1800/1900 MHz
(Band frequency, HSPA availability, and data speed are operator dependent.)
You can see that HSPA (3G) is only supported at 900/2100. AT&T uses 850/1900 for 3G. I made the mistake of purchasing the HTC Touch Pro from Europe then had to sell it for a $400 loss on eBay and purchase the AT&T Fuze from an AT&T store.
Typically, HTC releases their new devices in Europe and Asia 1-2 months prior to a US release. It may be torture to have to sit and wait on it while your friends across the pond are already flashing new ROMs to their new shiny phone, but you'll be much better off.
really? there is another thread on the rhodium forum titled "unbranded touch pro 2" and the thread starter posted a link from infosync.com saying that HTC is planning to release a version of the TP2 in the summer that will be compatible with AT&T's 3G bands. how true is that? i hope its true! im getting really anxious and impatient!

Yes, I read that after I made my post above. That is great news since I don't think I am going to like AT&T's modifications. I am not eligible for an upgrade yet anyway since I bought the Fuze not that long ago. I wonder if it will be released at the same time as the Europe/Asia models.
I can't find the TP2 on cellhut.com. They must have taken it off their site. I certainly wouldn't trust a dealer that I am not familiar with and hasn't been vouched for on this forum.
don't you think the reason it's not on the site is because it's not out yet? I was actually thinking about just buying it straight from HTC, but the one thing I need to be sure of is if it will support AT&T's 3G bands.
so none of the TP2s being sold on expansys or any of the other sites that are offering them will support U.S. 3G?

Expansys has the UK model listed. They will probably sell the US unlocked version as well, but I would never buy from them again. They lie about items being in stock and I have never received anything from them quickly. When I've purchased from overseas in the past I have used Clove who have always been honest about stock and are very fast shippers. Hopefully newegg.com will have it. They sell some other unlocked HTC phones.
so once those sites start selling the US unlocked TP2, we can buy it from there and they'll work with the US 3G bands right? we just have to wait until the unlocked ones are available online?
Hey everybody,
I actually emailed HTC-America ([email protected]) and I asked them if the Unlocked-US version of the TP2 would support 3G networks. I said that they confirmed on their twitter feed that it would be coming to the US, so I was rightly wondering whether an Unlocked-US version would support our weird 3G frequencies.
I think there was a misunderstanding because they said that the HTC twitter feed was in no way run or affiliated with HTC, which doesn't make sense because ON the TP2's product overview page, they actually link to their Facebook, YouTube, and TWITTER accounts.
So I emailed them back saying that of course they have to run that twitter feed, and asked them the question again, but they probably won't get back to me until Monday at least. I'll keep everybody updated on the responses I get, as I, and many others, would REALLY hate to buy another AT&T subsidized model of anything.
Dave
thank man that's good. that doesn't make any sense tho! how can they say that they're not affiliated with the HTC twitter feed? that's stupid lol. keep us updated bro!!!

I mention Clove in case you ever plan to buy from the UK. Quite positive they won't be selling the US version anyway. If there is a US unlocked version look for it to say UMTS or HSPA with the bands 850/1900. For GSM it will be quad-band and work most places in the world. Of course, online retailers sometimes make mistakes in their listings so you may want to confirm it by contacting the company you purchase from, or even better wait for someone who bought one to post their results in this forum.
I got the reply from HTC today, and it was a kind of mixed answer. The reply to my last email I sent was this:
... I understand how important it is to have the full information for upcoming products. Until there is information for this product available on HTC's United States web page, then we would not be able to confirm the specs for an American release of this device ...

Soooo, even though they "officially" announced it coming to the US, it's not officially announced that it's coming to the US? I don't know what they mean, but by the way the email used "until" instead of "unless" and other ways it was phrased, I think the answer is yes, we will get an American release. But, maybe I'm just over analyzing it. Tell me what you guys think about it.
Dave
it just seems like they don't wanna give away any info about the TP2, even tho they already did. they're not making any sense by saying there is no word on a U.S. release, when we all know that there was an announcement of a U.S. release a while back. seems like they're basically saying there will be a U.S. release; they just wanna be secretive about it at the moment, which seems pointless to me

i think that its more so the fact that when it come to the US they have contracts with all these companies that rebrand the device. so they choose to with hold the info to give those companies the best chance at selling the rebranded products.

I agree with you that there will not likely be a US unlocked version since I don't recall HTC ever doing that before, but how do you know for sure? Also, I haven't heard any time frame for at&t's release until I just read your quote saying July. Where did you hear that? Was it from a reliable source? Thanks.
^ U might want to wait (like many of us), and not live on the EDGE w/o 3G!
I went to go see the T-mobile version today at a store in Tacoma... AND I LOVE THE PHONE!
I'm definitely waiting until August 12th (which is the now rumored release date).
It is everything that I thought it would be.
But here are some impressions for those of you interested in the T-mobile USA version:
1. No chrome- thankfully this did not kill the sex appeal. I think that the phone is the sexiest phone I have ever seen. The look is not inferior to the International version, just different.
2. It is a speed demon! Whatever ROM it is running is even faster than the international version (from what I have seen in video reviews) and everything is very fluid.
3. The keyboard is perfect. Enough said.
4. The guy who owned the phone said that the release date is supposed to be mid-to-late August. Though I'm betting on August 12th.
5. Any questions, ask away. I'm very excited for the release of this phone.
Did T-Mo keep the second camera on this phone, is it full of bloat-ware, and lastly did they destroy any of what we love about the phones capabilities.
i have a german t-mobile vario 5 and i can say hardware is exactly the same so YES front camera is there too!
there is some software like web n walk and some other t-mobile software but its not that bloated.

For some reason the Music player on Touchflo3d cannot read my memory card. I have an 8gb card, with around 1100 songs and it takes forever to load. After about 5 mins, it might show the songs, I click a song, it lags to play, then it plays, I try to change the track and it freezes.
Do we know yet which 3G frequencies the USA version of this phone will support? i.e. will it only work on the US networks, or be a proper 'world standard' phones that will work on all the UK 3G networks as well as the US ones?

I'm glad there's no chrome, personally. I plan to own the device for a long time, and with my luck the chrome would crack before I grew tired of the device. But from the one shot I've seen of it on a TmoUSA promo it's my least favorite looking of all the versions. I'd have to go digging around, but I think either the Sprint or Verizon was my favorite looking device.
Fortunately, appearances are the least important factor in my buying decision, because I'll probably end up on TMobile's network before I even get the phone.
The guy who has it name is Young.
If you don't like the looks of the phone, you can always get a gel skin. You can also order replacement exterior pieces online and just have someone take the phone apart and put the new parts on.
It is so bloody annoying that the TP2 is coming out everywhere on t mobile (in the US and mainland Europe) except in the UK. The rumour that it failed testing in the UK can't be right, as it appears to have passed testing everywhere else. Perhaps it has more to do with the fact that t mobile in the UK is being sold off and that it can't afford too many new launches of products.

hey a myfaves tab in touchflo
I'm loaning my Dell Venue Pro to my GF, and looking to get another phone. Unfortunately there are three requirements i have to full fill.
1) physical qwerty keyboard.
2) windows 7 mobile (and preferably HTC)
3) has to be able to use t-mobile frequencies 1700 & 2100.
What is the best phone on the market in that range (not really worried about price) and are there any new ones I should be waiting for?
thx
There's only two I'm aware of that meet just part of your requirements: T-Mobile HTC HD7 and Dell Venue Pro. No other WP7 phones have the radio freqs you need.

Agreed, searched Google & can't find any other WP7 devices on any carriers that use the AWS frequencies that T-Mobile USA uses.
Maybe wait for Mango, or switch to Sprint where you would have a phone that meets all three of those requirements.
Thanks for the info guys, it's kind what i found while researching but i needed some confirmations.
I actually can't use either t-mobile or sprint because i'm in Canada and one of the new carriers is running the same frequencies as t-mobile. Which is why it's one of my requirements.
Thanks for the replies guys.
I'd just wait to loan it to her for a couple months and see what comes out.
I love my lg quantum, but you'll have To get the unlocked version LG C900 Optimus 7Q. It is the most solid of all of the wp7 and the only other wp7 device with a qwerty keyboard. The screen is a little small but it makes it look sharp. It is the most under rated wp7 phone out there. It is the only wp with a built in registry editor.

Is there a version of it that supports AWS 3G frequencies? This is what he's asking for as his service provider uses AWS (1700/2100MHz 3G), same as T-Mobile USA & a few other provider in the US & Canada do.
Only other hope is a Nokia WP7 device. Their recent devices have all been penta band so will work with AWS. Might not get a keyboard model in their first batch though.

It needs both 1700/2100. So it won't work. I agree about the other person with pentaband, but that won't be the case with WP7 Nokia devices. Qualcomm doesn't have pentaband. The Nokia pentaband is a Broadcomm chip. Don't know what is taking Qualcomm so long to do this...

Are you referencing the fact that both Dell (suposedly this month) is releasing their firmware update and Microsoft supposedly releasing Mango at the end of August?
If Canadian carriers didn't screw us over for data i'd be able to buy other phones, but i'm SoL right now to stick with mobilicity
why not just get another dvp?
the new firmware will be on it.. it is unlocked... mango is almost out (and you could also put beta 2 on it if you like...)
it is also hella cheap.. $299

Several reasons actually.
1) Dell refuses to ship to Canada or accept Canadian billing addresses. , the first time around i had to get a friend to buy it on his CC then ship it up to me. Because UPS has a brocrage fee it was another 100 bucks to cross the border.
2) Dell pissed me off. The first one I shattered on a plastic body kit for my car, and it took over a month to actually get one shipped up here. That was calling them every other day to keep the ball rolling. I'd still be waiting had I not done that.
3) I had to manually program all the Mobilicity settings into the DVP. I'm hoping the other carrier my gf is on won't require me to plug all the txt and mms settings into the phone, she's not the worlds most technical so i want something that just works for her.
Where do I get Beta 2?

by the way the article doesnt show anything we did not already know
It says " which happens to be compatible with T-Mobile and AT&T networks. " doesn't necessarily mean that they are selling it.

Your post title is HORRIBLY misleading.
There is NOTHING in the article that confirms AT&T or T-Mobile variants of the Galaxy Nexus.

Actually it said
"But my test version, provided by Google just a day ago, relied on a T-Mobile SIM card tapping into an HSPA + network."
Which sounds more like it would be sold by tmobile at least.
I could be wrong though.
It's been posted elsewhere that the GSM version works on those networks. I read the article as simply meaning that the test model the reviewer was given was gsm, not lte.

Though I'd love for that to be the case, I really don't see how that is any indicator that T-Mo will be picking it up and selling it themselves. All that the above quote tells us is that the HSPA+ model is compatible with T-Mo's airwaves.
This thread is incredibly badly titled, given the huge assumption made by the OP :\
Thanks for the enormous cocktease.
I went to my Tmobile store and asked when they might get the Galaxy Nexus. The manager told me that Tmobile was not going to get this phone in their stores but it would be sold at Best Buy at some point. I went to Best Buy and asked them and of course they knew nothing about it. Why do they want to make it so hard for me to buy the darn phone? Makes no sense.
Close this misleading redundant thread !
This is very selfish of me but I hope it doesn't come to T-mobile. I want to buy this unlocked from overseas and use it with T-mobile and my legacy data plan. If T-mobile starts carrying it, they might end up filtering the device and force me to buy their more expensive, Android-compatible data plan.

pretty stupid, if you buy the unlocked version in the US it'll save you a tonne of money.
I personally love the *CONFIRMED* portion of the title. You read one vague article and suddenly this is confirmed.

u r really funny dude
Engadget was able to use both Tmo and AT&T SIMs successfully. Just thought I'd share. It shouldn't surprise anyone though considering the radios support both on paper. At this point, it would be nice to see when ANY carrier in the US will be selling this phone.

think of it this way.. is it REALLY a Nexus with bloatware? not me. its a galaxy phone
Though this may come as no surprise to some we have just received word from a very very good source that an unconfirmed number of AT&T SIM Cards (RS# 17-0700 and likely 4G LTE) for the Galaxy Nexus are going out for testing as we speak. Curiously the SIMS are standard and not the micro like Verizon Wireless. This means of course we can finally certify the release of Samsung and Google’s latest collaboration will be hitting AT&T in the very near term. I have to protect my source but this is coming from very close to the situation. We will keep you posted as more details come about. Are you on AT&T and have been waiting for the the official release of the G-Nex you can count on it soon enough. We broke this right here and we expect to be credited this time. Thanks.
Update: Our tipster just added that the SKU for these SIM cards is 73057 and that they do seem to be 4G LTE enabled!!!!

wonder what rom can run on this version ...
i doubt it'll sell too well tho
whoever wanted the GN in the US would have bought the GN already ....
Interesting.
It's the same thing that happened to the Nexus S, ATT was late to the game getting that that phone too.

Bet you $50 it's only HSPA+. Note, that the email only said it was "likely" LTE. They're speculating. Then note that they're using MiniSIM not micro. The whole reason why they use MicroSIM in Toro is because they couldn't fit the LTE antennas and logic chips and the full sized SIM in the already larger housing.

Yeah kinda strange.
When I switched to the LTE-enabled data plan with an LTE phone IMEI number, they had to give me a new LTE SIM for my GSM GN. So maybe the article meant LTE SIM going to the field with GN test units?

I think you are right.
After receiving my new GN last Friday, I went to the local AT&T store to get a data plan. Contrary to AT&T ads there is no 4G in South Florida. My phone gets what is available: H+. I just had to move the Sim card from my Nexus One to the GN.
Since my Galaxy Nexus is not an AT&T I have no obligation to buy a data plan. I might drop mine after reading the speedtest
To Clarify
Since our entire post has been repasted here i felt the need to clarify. The SIMS are not at all phone specific and not sure how that was insinuated in the post. There is more information I may be cleared to release as to why it was necessary for these SIMS to go out and an enterprising mind that thinks on it for a while can probably figure it out. The problem is I cannot yet tell folks where the SIMS were coming from and where they were going. I also know how many SIMS there were. If I get cleared to release that info I promise to update the information. Lets for the sake of argument put the SIM card aspect aside. The important part is the document in question confirms the existence of the handset in question. Number one rule of journalism is protect your source. If i gave out that information that would put him/her at considerable risk. I promise there will be more info soon.

Several thousand people have read it and not everyone came away with the sims are galaxy nexus specific especially since we provide the sku number. They are regular ATT LTE sims and I will update the post to clarify this. Do with the rest of the information from my last reply what you will.

It would be shocking if AT&T wasn't buying USIM's without a LTE logo. Yes, logo. There is no physical difference between a UMTS 3G USIM and one used in LTE devices.
SOURCE: Gemalto, who makes most of the SIM's for AT&T
Damn and I just paid $498 for a GSM to use on AT&T. However LTE in my area is delayed so LTE model would be useless to me. Plus AT&T branding and bloat ware Yuck!
I have two upgrades in May due. If anything Id rather get a One X for $199 hopefully to try out and still keep my Nexus. Never tried Sense so who knows. I really just like the look and screen quality of the One X. I could always sell it for $500 if it doesn't work out.

we have photographs of these sims with no LTE logo thanks to our friends at radio shack so im sorry that is not entirely true. Also we know these SIMS have been being used since the 4th quarter of last year so we are aware that there is no difference. For some of you there won't be truth to it until the phone is announced but it's funny those are the people who scrutinize speculation the most. We have clarified the original story on our site for those people and for now we will wait and see. I'm only here commenting because my story is here. I don't care to convince anyone specific of it's validity, as for our readers, us reporting it makes it valid enough.
Good day sir

is hardly convincing anyone. Blogs get things wrong all the time. Blogs that have exclusives that no others can validate tend to get them wrong more often.
So I hope you are right, but will not be shocked if you are not.
Posts 11, 12, 13, and 16 part of the answer is in post 10
So unless someone has pictures of the device, sales materials, etc.... how is this a "confirmed" rumor?
5 bucks says only the 16GB version will be available.
....I remember reading about a month ago that Samsung has stopped producing the 32 GB version and will focus on a 16 GB version to promote cloud storage. Hopefully its BS for you ATT guys and girls. Watch for it none the less.
