Connectivity icons - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

Hi guys.
I was just wondering about something. After flashing gummy 0.8.2 rom on my gnex, the internett connectivity icons in the status bar(mobile data+wifi) won't change color from grey to blue. Connectivity seems to be just fine.
Any ideas?
Thx

That's just the way the Nexus is for some reason. You can change the icons in SystemUI.apk so that they are blue when connected.

If you'd like I can walk you through changing out the icons. I'm running gummy as well and I did this about 2 weeks ago. lol. I used an app called ninjamorph from the market. Lets you navigate like a file explorer to swap out the images in any apk you'd like and even backs up the original if anything goes wrong or you decide to go back to the original. I set mine up so they're always blue when connected since I noticed that the radio fully connects fairly quick I didn't see a reason to have them grey first.

But is this rom spesific? Everything was normal when i used cm9 and modaco. Anyone else get this with gummy rom?

Assuming that the icons are properly displaying, it means that one or more of your Google services aren't fully synced. Grey means you're not fully connected to Google. Check things like background sync and Google talk.

It's a known issue on gummy. Everything connects fine.

Thank you guys, and as much as i appreciate the offer, a guide won't be necsesary.

[Q] Themed Signal Bars????

Does Any one know if its possible to change the signal bars from 6 to 4 like in the other galaxy s models.....i think the 4 bars looks way better than 6....thank you.
Yes its possible. The phone reports more than those four steps so you can just have it show four bars full for 5 and 6 too, or any other combo you'd like. The images for them are in the framework-res.apk I believe. Not sure anyone wil do that for you until official froyo though...try it yourself if your adventurous.

The Elegant Steel port that I did for 2.1 has only 4 signal bars. When 2.2 is officially released I will port it to that as well.

Certainly, inside of any theme .zip is a file called framework-res.apk. You can rename the .apk to .zip and open it in any compression tool, such as 7zip or WinRAR. If you would like, you can decompress and unpack this to a folder for ease of use. There are tons of guides on XDA that will help you with this, I would suggest taking a look at some of the guides made by Dreamsforgotten as they are incredibly detailed, and you can find links to them by looking at the sticky wiki thread. Once you get inside of the framework-res.apk, you will see a folder called "res" and inside of that, another folder called "drawable-hdpi". This is the heart of the framework, and the majority of the images that you see on your phone are contained within. The status bar signal icons are named something like "stat_sys_signal..." etc. Just open em up and edit them to your liking, or grab some images from somewhere else to replace them. Hope this helps, feel free to pm me if you need any more help!

Yup no problem. There are multiple different sets of signal bars, on for roaming, 1x etc. Your best bet would be to replace them all, unless you can discern which is which. Look for this in the name "_r_", and if they have this then those are for roaming icons. All others should just be the normal signal.

Nice, welcome to the world of theming Just an FYI, you may have to change some things again when the official froyo release comes out, there is quite a difference between all three of the leaks, leading me to believe the OTA will be different as well. Glad it worked for you, feel free to ask away someone around here will be happy to help!

The clock color is controlled by services.jar. You need to edit smili. some of fonts are controlled by the xml files in the colors folder

You need to make your own images per pull the ones you like from the different themes. Replace the images in the framework

[Q] USB system icon theming help

Hey guys i've ran into a problem that maybe one of you experienced themers can help with. I am running Lou's Redemptive rEVOlutionn rom and decided the status bar and icons were too stock looking so I decided to replace them with another one. Well I went into framework-res and com.htc.resources and replaced everything I wanted to change then rebooted, after rebooting my phone everything was what I wanted it to be but when I plugged my phone back into my computer and the usb icon came up it was the same icon as before. I went back into framework-res and double checked to make sure I replaced the usb icon and yet assured I did. So I am at a loss here, i've been searching for other places where the icon would be and haven't found it anywhere besides the framework-res apk. Can anyone help me out?

[REQ] white theme

Hi there devs
so i have a simple request (i think) i would like a white theme that is just like stock ICS... so leave all the blue, and such, just turn the black into white (with the exception of the nav bar and status bar) everything else, either white or a light grey (kinda like MIUI is but except having the orange have the stock ICS blue, i would go to MIUI but 1. i hate orange, and 2, i have market place issues with MIUI)
i really hope someone can take on this project and do this for me... i knwo alot of other users might like the same thing...
thanks in advance, and of course donations will be given for the hard work
Like this?
If so you can download that from Nitroz, HERE
No... I don't want the blue accent changed to white. I want all the current black backgrounds white/light grey. Etc. You go into settings the whole background is black. I want white/light grey.
And I want the icons to stay ics stock. Not to change.
Get what I mean?

Doesn't exactly meet your criteria but this is the closest to white you're gonna get: http://rootzwiki.com/topic/20805-th...-formerly-known-as-un-blacked-out-by-bgill55/
Also, this Sense 4 theme (which I use and love) is going to be released in white (apparently) so check it out and stick about for more updates if interested: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1548618
and ya i saw that ghost one... dont like that at all... like i said above, looking for the exact same thing as AOSP black but for someone to turn the menu backgrounds (eg settings) into white...
ya i am using the sense theme now. i like it, but wanting to try the white one... but i dont like the green of it... hence why i would like what i mentioned above made... i'm sure there are plenty out there looking for AOSP white holo...
I second this. Black is nice, but its nice to have a white based theme. Not completely white. Just white menus, and stock ICS apps that look right with white and respective font color to meet the white.
exactly! so like the contact app is right now.... when you open it it was a white/light grey... i want that everywhere like in the setting... that background in the setting screen, call log, dial pad, etc etc etc but leaving the blue ICS signal meter , etc, etc as it is
I want a white theme too
I want white on my nav bar around the buttons.

That challenge would be incredibly difficult. I think BGill's theme is the closest you're going to get from a guy who started Android theming.
that makes me sad and im sure alot of others... do you got a link to that theme you are refering to?...

NinjaMorph Help

Hi everyone. I would just like some help on using NinjaMorph. I wanted to mess around with the status bar icons and change the colors of icons but it didnt work. I started a new project, and went to "SystemUI.apk/Res/Drawable-hdpi" and i changed the color of the "4G" icon to purple just to see what would happen. I saved it and everything but it didnt change colors. I tried it with a few other status bar icons to no avail. I also tried rebooting. Also, im running the ICS 4.0.3 leak. If anyone could help me it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Edit: Does anyone know how to change the signal icon to have 6 bars instead of 5 on the ICS leak? And does anyone know how to completely get rid of the clock from the status bar? Annnnddd does anyone know how to add the bar at the bottom of the screen that allows you to multitask, go back, and go home? Cause i see the icons in "SystemUI.apk/Res/Drawable-hdpi" but i want to actually have a working bottom bar there. Thanks to anyone who helps my little crisis here. Lol

I tried changing the no signal icon in both framework Res and system UI..hmm also I noticed in system UI.apk that there was a 6 bar signal strength icon thing. How can I activate that so I have 6 bars instead of 5?

[Q] Themeing Question

I was messing around with some of the icons and stuff in the framework-res.apk and I changed the status_bar_background.png, but its not showing up as the background of the status bar.
I'm running CM9 Beta4-Pre5.
Do I need to do something more than just replace the picture? It worked for just replacing the USB and USB connected pictures.
Thanks
Corey
If I remember correctly it only changes to that PNG during its animation. Like when installing an app it does an animation.
