I am currently running the epicTouchAOSPmod....my question is how can I update this rom with out loosing my current set up and having to start all over? I know that flashing a GB kernel isn't compatible with ics so it won't boot past the splash screen...any one know if there is a way for me to upgrade??

You need to odin a GB kernel, then upgrade, then flash one of ICS kernels.
ICS question.
If I'm running Calk's stock/rooted/fc07 v.1.0 and he releases a 2.0 version can I just flash over the upgraded version of fc07 without reverting back to GB el29?
OR
If I want to flash sfHub's fc15 ics rom can I just flash over ICS to ICS?
Thanks,
Pp.

You should be able to upgrade FC07 stock to FC07 modded by Calk.
You should probably wipe when flashing someone else's FC15.
But first odin to el29 kernel. I heard that you could brick the phone by using FC recoveries. I think even Rogue team suggest using EL29 kernels for flashing things over their own FC kernels.
Here, use this http://goo-inside.me/kernels/TeamRo.../rogue_ET-recoveryonly-1.1.4-rc0-odin.tar.md5 . This is an EL29 Rogue kernel I use.

Its not possible to remove CIQ from stock EK02 ROM yet. There is only one 2.3.6 ROM that has it removed. Calkulin's 2.0 build

Why wouldnt you want a ROM? Caulk's ROM is pretty much stock and would easily get you where you want your phone to be.
This ROM is completely stock with exception of root/busybox added and it uses the repacked EL26 that Chris41G posted so that you keep CWM. Once a repacked EL29 kernel is up, I will reupload the ROM to include it
All must be flashed through CWM
Stock Rooted EL29 ROM (v1.0)
Stock Rooted De-odex'd EL29 ROM (v1.0)
EL29 Modem
EL29 Stock Kernel - No CWM
Thanks to puertoblack2003 for posting the tar of this version
Yeah boi! Thank you

Its De-odexed, it should be a little smaller and the odex files are built into the apk.
:| I just flashed EL26 yesterday too. :|
can i install this and then install the el13? i just want the stock rom.
You can go back to el13 if you want....that is what I use.
This seems to be just a small update to EL26 but great post. Using it now, hotspot mod seems to work with it just fine.
question, is there a preferred order of updating? like should i do the kernal first or modem first etc?
also, i am looking forward to trying this out because el26 was horrible on my phones battery life so i was about to go back to el13 today. but now i'll try this

So I updated to the ICS OTA and rooted per QBKING77's video. I would like to flash some custom roms in the future but I don't want to downgrade to EL29 to do it. I want to stay with the current kernel and have a universal recovery that will let me flash any FF18 ROM without any issues.
Is Touch wiz the way to go? If so what version? If not which recovery is best for what I'm looking for?

Hi.
Check here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1767421
It's AGAT's kernel & recovery, I think that is what you are looking for? Download the .tar file and use Odin.
Also:
This kernel is TW rom only and can not be used with AOSP/AOKP/CM roms.

You pretty much just download a kernel with cwm built in and flash the .tar file with Odin.
All kernels should be found in the link above

That depends on why you need cwm? Flash new roms? Flash mod zips?

I can't say im up to date on agats thread but i would use agats ff18 cwm from source. Its safe.
You can get this via sfhubs autoroot or via the kernel thread.

Thanks guys I got it, I am really not liking the stock rooted Rom, how hard for me now to go to a custom Rom?
I know everyone likes different things but all I really want is a ICS streamlined Rom with all the bloat removed that everything works and is quick.
Any recommendations and instructions on how to get from where I am at now to the custom Rom?

If your stock ics kernel you can mobile Odin, Odin or flash a custom kernel, such as agats 5.4 kernel and then flash an ics rom. Or if your on a custom kernel, just flash the rom you want. All rom OPs have instructions. Obviously those who know me know what rom I will say, but we have tons of themes and mods for the "Goodness" rom. Pretty simple really. If you need help you can get me on gtalk, name is in my sig
If one is using a GB kernel and a JB Rom are you truly running JB.
Well no you won't be running JB because it wouldn't boot with a GB kernel

You tell me.
You used el26 kernel to flash cm10 but then cm10 came with its own kernel.

As they said. Once you flash a rom the kernel in that rom replaces the one that was on the device. CWM6 will be pretty easy to identify upon boot versus the CWM5 in the el26 kernel a quick boot into recovery will be a good sign for you. Could always go into the phone information and look at the current kernel.
