Hi all,
I have a problem when using rom AOKP, ICS, that is sms not worked. I can call, receive call, but cant send and receive sms.
Any one got this problem, too ?
Which ROM are you running? It would be better to go to the thread in the ROM Development section here for the ROM you are running for help.
EDIT: Is this the ROM you are running?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1478117
yes, this rom.
XDA forum doesn't allow newbie ( with < 10 post ) to join and discuss in android development section
You may need to double-check your SMSC (SMS Centre) number is correct for your carrier. I had the same issue on my Incredible 2 after flashing a non-GSM ROM, then flashing back to a stock-based, GSM-supported version.
To do this, find out the SMSC number for your carrier. Then dial *#*#4636#*#* and, at the menu, select 'Phone Info'. Scroll down until you see the 'SMSC' field, enter the number and hit 'update'.
Reboot your phone. This should be all that is required to fix your issue
Thanks for asking your question in the Q&A section. I know it can be frustrating because you're unable to post in the actual Development thread, but you asked your question in the right place, and for that I thank you
Let me know if you need something further!

Hi all
If I try to change the voicemail number on CM10 (nightly from 22nd) - I get the message: "Couldn't change the voicemail number. Contact your operator if this problem persists".
This is via Dialler > Settings > Voicemail > Setup
Is there any way to change it in a config file somewhere, manually? I am running CM10 so I'm obviously rooted...
I see this questions asked other places but no answers yet! Any help appreciated.
Thanks
James

For anyone who may be wondering for an answer...
I managed to bodge it in by editing the below file using Root Browser Lite off the market:
/system/etc/voicemail-conf.xml
Thought it might help someone....

Used Root Browser and couldn't find that "voicemail-conf" file in my CM10+gapps+4.2apps update on my T-mobile Samsung Galaxy II S (T989). From my research, it looks like T-mobile restricts their customers from setting/changing the voice mail forwarding number. I had to call Tmobile and tell them that I needed to change my voice mail number to my google voice number. They did something in the system on their end and I re-booted. Tried to set the number in the normal call settings, still wouldn't take. I then just entered a "MMI" code or something directly in the dialer as follows: *004*1xxxxxxxxxx# "xxxxxxxxxx" is my ten digit google voice number. This method worked! I don't know if other carriers restrict their voicemail in this way, but if you are on T-mobile it should work as I described.
I just upgraded my Samsung Captivate Glide I927 to android version to 4.0.4 from the factory settings and now I can't make any calls. I can receive calls, texts & go on the internet. I'm guessing that I need the unlock codes. I'm on the Straight Talk network with and At&t sim. Can anyone please help? I have tried everything! Thanks in advance!

Hi
Well when you are able to receive text then it not seems to be a unlock issue. Can you receive calls btw? It may also be worth to ask your provider for help on this issue.
Again I do not believe this is an unlocking issue as you do not see a prompt for it.
Nevertheless regarding network unlock I wrote a faq entry for my ROM (which is based on ICS 4.0.4) here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=54075993
--> FAQ #2
It would also be helpful to mention what you tried else (you wrote "I tried everything" but what is "everything"?)
Good luck

Sorry for creating a new thread guys but I need urgent help. My friend found a call recording hidden app installed on his samsung galaxy j2 .
Is there anyway we can check the recorded calls and from when was the app installed without rooting the phone. If rooting is absolutely necessary can we root without loosing any files and data so it can be checked ?
Thanks

There is no call logger hidden app preinstalled on j2...either u r thinking wrong, or ur j2 might got a logger by rooting.
