[Q] CM10 - Change voicemail number - HTC One X

Hi all
If I try to change the voicemail number on CM10 (nightly from 22nd) - I get the message: "Couldn't change the voicemail number. Contact your operator if this problem persists".
This is via Dialler > Settings > Voicemail > Setup
Is there any way to change it in a config file somewhere, manually? I am running CM10 so I'm obviously rooted...
I see this questions asked other places but no answers yet! Any help appreciated.
Thanks
James

I managed to bodge it in by editing the below file using Root Browser Lite off the market:
/system/etc/voicemail-conf.xml

Used Root Browser and couldn't find that "voicemail-conf" file in my CM10+gapps+4.2apps update on my T-mobile Samsung Galaxy II S (T989). From my research, it looks like T-mobile restricts their customers from setting/changing the voice mail forwarding number. I had to call Tmobile and tell them that I needed to change my voice mail number to my google voice number. They did something in the system on their end and I re-booted. Tried to set the number in the normal call settings, still wouldn't take. I then just entered a "MMI" code or something directly in the dialer as follows: *004*1xxxxxxxxxx# "xxxxxxxxxx" is my ten digit google voice number. This method worked! I don't know if other carriers restrict their voicemail in this way, but if you are on T-mobile it should work as I described.

[Issue] on CyanogenMod 10 - changing voice mail number

HI,
Couple off minor issues with this ROM.
1. I am using Giff Giff as my operator but it is showing as O2 ( Giff Gaff runs on O2 network )
On stock ROM ICS 4.0.3 operator would show up as giffgaff
2. The voicemail number is stored as 901. When i attempt to change this in "Other Call Settings\Voicemail\Setup\ Voicemal number" to 443 the error dialog "Call Settings Error" appears with Text "Couldn't change the voice-mail number. Contact your operator if this problem persists."
Was able to change this on stock ROM ICS 4.0.3
... Stock ROM was vodafone uk.
I cant log issue in the ROM's forum as I dont have the permissions
Exact same thing happens to me, also on giffgaff and CM10
So how is the developer of CyanogenMod10 made aware of this post - just the off chance that they look in here.
Could someone make them aware that has the authority to post ?
Sure in the grand scheme of things these are minor issues.

[Q] Having problems! Please help!

I'll start with specs:
Device: PrimoC
Service Provider: VMUSA
ROM: RythmicRom v1.4
Kernel: 3.0.46 Rhythmic Kernel_v1.0+
Baseband: 1.00.00.0928
Governor: LionHeart
I/O: SIO
OC: 1497Mhz
Now to my issue. I have been having trouble with messaging lately. I have tried clearing cache, ending processes, system cleaning and no luck. I am using Android Assistant to clear cache and system clean. My messages take forever to send, fail, and refuse to send or receive MMS! I would like to know if there is a setting that I need to change to bring back reliability? Cell use is fine (I can make and receive calls) but SMS and MMS is either terrible or non existent! Please help!
I'm a noob to this forum so I can't ask in development forum for this ROM! Thanks in advance for all help supplied!

First of all don't panic.
Secound: try to get what sms and mms settings are used by your carrier (like the sms center number (don't know how it is in english)) mms ha something similar too. If you know what settings, numers, ports etc. you need try to configure them in stock programs, or download a 3rd party sms/mms app like gosms from market. I had the same problem with sms in my one v (thous I'm at gsm) but that helped me (the sms center number was wrong).
---update---
I rememberred correct (not an everyday thing for me) you will need the SMSC number for Virgin USA
I have found this much as of now, but the call center can help you more I think.
I will try to get into the call center but the code "*#*#4636#*#*" doesn't work with my ROM! If you know, can the call center reset my SMS center option OTA? I really hate dealing with VMUSA because of their customer service! I may PM the developer of my ROM and see what he says as well as contact the call center! Thank you very much for replying! (I also hit the Thanks button!)
I've contacted VMUSA support and was told that the issue is a system interruption and not my device. She tried to get me to do ##847446# but I told her that I was rooted and I guess she didn't know what that was. Anyway, she said that the issue will be resolved by tomorrow afternoon EST and if not fixed then to try customer support again. So I shall wait it out.

[Q] Korean Version SHV-370K - ROM/GroupPlay/ChatON

Hey people,
I recently purchased a Korean variant of the S4 Mini. The model is SHV-370K. To my findings, its equal to the main version I9195. Is that correct? I do have the NFC chip installed. My question is, can I flash an official ROM like the ones used in the I9195? I have to much KOREAN language apps and I dont think I am prepared to root it. If I can flash an official ROM on this via ODIN?, will I still be able to get the OTA? My current version is 4.2.2. And checking on Sammobile I have the latest. The Korean stuff is just to much of a hassel and I am not sure if I will even get an update. Can I flash an official ROM and not lose warranty and root?
My second question is that I cannot make Group Play work on 2 of these S4 Mini's. They just dont connect. It says Network Lost and sometimes failed to join group. I've tried working it over with NFC and Wifi Direct. Normal gallery pictures and everything send easy, just this app that I really really want to use. Would be great if some one would help me.
My last question is that ChatON keeps giving an Error while checking for push services. I have tried everything. Changed networks, tried Mobile Networks. All my apps are up to date, even the annoying Samsung Push Service. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you so much people.
Have a great day.
Oh and I think its Carrier Branded? Cuz it has this Olleh writen on its back cover?
So ChatON and Group Play is working after they have been updated most recently. I did update them before but they dint seem to work. The current updates work good. Any one about the ROM issue? Would love some help <3.

you can only use a korean K rom, or a modify rom for the K version, otherwise you can brick your phone.

Hi guys,
Have you found any solution to this problem? I'm also an [almost] happy owner of a Korean-branded S4 Mini and as USSD codes don't work, was told that firmware needs to be changed. But this being specifically a Korean phone, I'm not sure other ROMs out there will even be 100% compatible.
Thanks,
Vit

you have to enter it's secret menu, and insert the password, each network has it's own password.

Thanks, but I don't think I have to enter a password, since other phones work without it. Unless it's somehow phone-specific, but my operator reps would probably have told me (instead they just said the firmware needs to be changed). What secret menu are we talking about? perhaps aI could investigate. At any rate, if there someone has managed to flash the Korean version of the phone with a more "universal" firmware, I'd like to know. Thanks!

This secret menu allows you to modify the network, frequencies and other stuff, each korean service privider has it's own password.
try typing this on the dialer.

you don't need the menu for the ussd, korean version has their own set of ussd, they are different from the international version, some are the same , but most are different.

Please forgive me as I'm a total noob, but after your last reply it hit me: we're probably talking about different USSDs. I meant that my operator USSD codes didn't work, the ones that I send to find out my remaining balance and to also enable/disable services etc. (e.g. I would send *444#2#1 to find out my remaining balance), not the phone's own USSD codes (like the service menus etc, e.g. the IMEI check with *#06#). Operator USSD codes just don't work - the phone either sits trying to connect for a few minutes (locking the phone down during this time), or just says that the signal is too weak. So I guess I do need to install a different firmware to fully unlock it.
Thanks for trying to help though, I'm learning new stuff!

Mate I have the same problem here. The USSD codes just dont work. My balance check does work though. All I have noticed that USSDS that need two steps dont work. Example to transfer credits, I type *456# and in return it should ask me what number I need to transfer my credits, but it just doesnt work. I have tried the menu but no idea what that is all about. Still cannot find what to do.
Secondly I met some one at the forums who has the same device as ours. HE said installing Cynogen Mod is working and it doesnt effect us having a model of SHV something. LOL. So I dont know if I should go ahead and flash a custom rom. I would rather flash an official rom but no one is helping here and I cant seem to find any. Like maybe we could flash an english rom from UK. Something official like the normal I9195 have! Not some korean ones.
New Update.
Hey people! I just got an OTA update and all I see new is a Google Drive icon. The update is still on 4.2.2 and not 4.3. It was about 96mb of file size. How can I take out the changelog and read what bug fixes it brings?
hello
how to do I move from SHV or change the CSC code?
for now getting only the Korean pop up messages.
Want to change to Australia CSC code.

I've read about CSC Select app (on google play market), but I think you need root for this to work. I'm not an expert on that though.
Please write here if you manage to get any results (even if negative).

HELP>>>Connection problem or invalid MMI code

I just upgraded my Samsung Captivate Glide I927 to android version to 4.0.4 from the factory settings and now I can't make any calls. I can receive calls, texts & go on the internet. I'm guessing that I need the unlock codes. I'm on the Straight Talk network with and At&t sim. Can anyone please help? I have tried everything! Thanks in advance!

Hi
Well when you are able to receive text then it not seems to be a unlock issue. Can you receive calls btw? It may also be worth to ask your provider for help on this issue.
Again I do not believe this is an unlocking issue as you do not see a prompt for it.
Nevertheless regarding network unlock I wrote a faq entry for my ROM (which is based on ICS 4.0.4) here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=54075993
--> FAQ #2
It would also be helpful to mention what you tried else (you wrote "I tried everything" but what is "everything"?)
Good luck
