Hi - i have a uk vodafone tattoo (no contract) which i would like to unlock, meaning that i can use a sim from a different country - i understand this means overcoming the net/CID lock?! - apologies but i'm very new to this so not sure if i'm using the right terminology but basically i would like to use my tattoo with a different sim from a different country.
vodafone have given me a code based on my imei but it didn't work - i double checked with them but apparently it's the correct code.
so, what i have done then is - i gained root access and flashed the modaco tattoo custom rom.
the vodafone branding is gone but the network is still unlocked.
is there a way to get it unlocked? would i flash a different rom? can anyone help? i don't have much knowledge and i'm quite new to this.
also i did search the forum and didn't get the answer i needed but if there is a post that explains it - please direct me instead.
many thanks for your help!
a
anyone who can help??
I can only advise to GOOGLE it. Not being sarcastic by any means.....just trying to help
believe it or not i did ask google (not trying to be sarcastic either). and as mentioned i already have a code that vodafone provided via htc, which doesn't work, so i posted here as i thought there might be someone in this forum to help.
if there is anyone with helpful advise - it's much appreciated.
cheers,

Ok then....have you called Orange to request the right code? have you followed the proper protocols for unlocking that phone?
I think you were given the wrong code by Orange.
hm. it's vodafone (not organge) - and yes i requested the code. and double checked with them - they said it's the right code. although i agree it apparently is not - after flashing it allowed me 3 new attempts and i have now entered it 4 times so clearly it must be incorrect.
the option is to send it to vodafone but given it's now rooted and flashed i'd rather figure out a way myself to remove the CID/Netlock - but looks like there is no straight way forward..
Welcome to forums
I would check on ebay or try contact olipro member to buy an unlock code
Don't get in trouble!
Somtimes it is easier spending 15 Eruros and 30 minutes than trying magic.
Just one advice. The process erase the data, so remember to do a NAND BackUp before.
I did it before changing from Vodafone to Simyo.
Now i have got a free Tattoo and also changed the ROM.
If you need a code for this phone.
Please do pm me.
Hi all,
I have a problem when using rom AOKP, ICS, that is sms not worked. I can call, receive call, but cant send and receive sms.
Any one got this problem, too ?
Which ROM are you running? It would be better to go to the thread in the ROM Development section here for the ROM you are running for help.
EDIT: Is this the ROM you are running?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1478117
yes, this rom.
XDA forum doesn't allow newbie ( with < 10 post ) to join and discuss in android development section
You may need to double-check your SMSC (SMS Centre) number is correct for your carrier. I had the same issue on my Incredible 2 after flashing a non-GSM ROM, then flashing back to a stock-based, GSM-supported version.
To do this, find out the SMSC number for your carrier. Then dial *#*#4636#*#* and, at the menu, select 'Phone Info'. Scroll down until you see the 'SMSC' field, enter the number and hit 'update'.
Reboot your phone. This should be all that is required to fix your issue
Thanks for asking your question in the Q&A section. I know it can be frustrating because you're unable to post in the actual Development thread, but you asked your question in the right place, and for that I thank you
Let me know if you need something further!

Data
OP and everybody else, are you guys able to get your data working with GSM? Mine can't and it's been driving me nuts lately
Hi,
I have a huge problem with my Xperia Arc S. I don't know if it's due to the JJHybrid 3.1 or it's a hardware problem:
Sometimes, friends arn't able to join me. If someone call me, he directly get the mail box.
If I make a call or send a sms, I receive all the sms at once. Someone date back no more than 3 hours!
So, what can I do? Warranty?
Thanks you.
You should have basebabd .72 + the libs for it flashed onto your phone (since your on ICS), if you do then re-flash your ROM... if the problem still continues its best to use your warranty
I have the correct baseband but I'm not sure for the libs. How check that?
I don't know if this problem is known with the rom. I would like to post in the Release thread but I'm only a junior member
Could it be your operator's issue?
No way, this problem is frequent...
Hi all
If I try to change the voicemail number on CM10 (nightly from 22nd) - I get the message: "Couldn't change the voicemail number. Contact your operator if this problem persists".
This is via Dialler > Settings > Voicemail > Setup
Is there any way to change it in a config file somewhere, manually? I am running CM10 so I'm obviously rooted...
I see this questions asked other places but no answers yet! Any help appreciated.
Thanks
James

Used Root Browser and couldn't find that "voicemail-conf" file in my CM10+gapps+4.2apps update on my T-mobile Samsung Galaxy II S (T989). From my research, it looks like T-mobile restricts their customers from setting/changing the voice mail forwarding number. I had to call Tmobile and tell them that I needed to change my voice mail number to my google voice number. They did something in the system on their end and I re-booted. Tried to set the number in the normal call settings, still wouldn't take. I then just entered a "MMI" code or something directly in the dialer as follows: *004*1xxxxxxxxxx# "xxxxxxxxxx" is my ten digit google voice number. This method worked! I don't know if other carriers restrict their voicemail in this way, but if you are on T-mobile it should work as I described.
Hey people,
I recently purchased a Korean variant of the S4 Mini. The model is SHV-370K. To my findings, its equal to the main version I9195. Is that correct? I do have the NFC chip installed. My question is, can I flash an official ROM like the ones used in the I9195? I have to much KOREAN language apps and I dont think I am prepared to root it. If I can flash an official ROM on this via ODIN?, will I still be able to get the OTA? My current version is 4.2.2. And checking on Sammobile I have the latest. The Korean stuff is just to much of a hassel and I am not sure if I will even get an update. Can I flash an official ROM and not lose warranty and root?
My second question is that I cannot make Group Play work on 2 of these S4 Mini's. They just dont connect. It says Network Lost and sometimes failed to join group. I've tried working it over with NFC and Wifi Direct. Normal gallery pictures and everything send easy, just this app that I really really want to use. Would be great if some one would help me.
My last question is that ChatON keeps giving an Error while checking for push services. I have tried everything. Changed networks, tried Mobile Networks. All my apps are up to date, even the annoying Samsung Push Service. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you so much people.
Have a great day.
Oh and I think its Carrier Branded? Cuz it has this Olleh writen on its back cover?
So ChatON and Group Play is working after they have been updated most recently. I did update them before but they dint seem to work. The current updates work good. Any one about the ROM issue? Would love some help <3.

you can only use a korean K rom, or a modify rom for the K version, otherwise you can brick your phone.

Hi guys,
Have you found any solution to this problem? I'm also an [almost] happy owner of a Korean-branded S4 Mini and as USSD codes don't work, was told that firmware needs to be changed. But this being specifically a Korean phone, I'm not sure other ROMs out there will even be 100% compatible.
Thanks,
Vit

you have to enter it's secret menu, and insert the password, each network has it's own password.

Thanks, but I don't think I have to enter a password, since other phones work without it. Unless it's somehow phone-specific, but my operator reps would probably have told me (instead they just said the firmware needs to be changed). What secret menu are we talking about? perhaps aI could investigate. At any rate, if there someone has managed to flash the Korean version of the phone with a more "universal" firmware, I'd like to know. Thanks!

This secret menu allows you to modify the network, frequencies and other stuff, each korean service privider has it's own password.
try typing this on the dialer.

you don't need the menu for the ussd, korean version has their own set of ussd, they are different from the international version, some are the same , but most are different.

Please forgive me as I'm a total noob, but after your last reply it hit me: we're probably talking about different USSDs. I meant that my operator USSD codes didn't work, the ones that I send to find out my remaining balance and to also enable/disable services etc. (e.g. I would send *444#2#1 to find out my remaining balance), not the phone's own USSD codes (like the service menus etc, e.g. the IMEI check with *#06#). Operator USSD codes just don't work - the phone either sits trying to connect for a few minutes (locking the phone down during this time), or just says that the signal is too weak. So I guess I do need to install a different firmware to fully unlock it.
Thanks for trying to help though, I'm learning new stuff!

Mate I have the same problem here. The USSD codes just dont work. My balance check does work though. All I have noticed that USSDS that need two steps dont work. Example to transfer credits, I type *456# and in return it should ask me what number I need to transfer my credits, but it just doesnt work. I have tried the menu but no idea what that is all about. Still cannot find what to do.
Secondly I met some one at the forums who has the same device as ours. HE said installing Cynogen Mod is working and it doesnt effect us having a model of SHV something. LOL. So I dont know if I should go ahead and flash a custom rom. I would rather flash an official rom but no one is helping here and I cant seem to find any. Like maybe we could flash an english rom from UK. Something official like the normal I9195 have! Not some korean ones.
New Update.
Hey people! I just got an OTA update and all I see new is a Google Drive icon. The update is still on 4.2.2 and not 4.3. It was about 96mb of file size. How can I take out the changelog and read what bug fixes it brings?
hello
how to do I move from SHV or change the CSC code?
for now getting only the Korean pop up messages.
Want to change to Australia CSC code.

I've read about CSC Select app (on google play market), but I think you need root for this to work. I'm not an expert on that though.
Please write here if you manage to get any results (even if negative).
