Sd card issue - Galaxy Note GT-N7000 Accessories

I recently purchased a 32 gb SD CARD from play, but for some reason it is being funny. When i transfer some apps from phone to card other does but when i look into it on the file explorer its show only one folder LOST. Also it gives me card full status too but i haven't put anything big in it?

did u try a format? removing the card and putting it back in.. restart.. if it occurs again.. you may have to do a factory reset..

Yes i formatted the card my previous 8 gb card was working fine

ive been having some problems with my note using memory cards properly as well. mainly with the camera app.
occasionally i would take 20 odd photos and film 30 minutes of HD footage, but the moment i tap to go on gallery, nothing has been added. when i go to check storage, no extra space has been used up. the only way i can get my device to save data again is to power it down, take out the battery, put the battery back in and power it up again. quite frustrating, but perhaps see if that fixes your problem?

Whats the speed of the card?

It is class 4

[Q] SD Card Unmounted without my knowledge

i leave my phone on overnight as usual.. and when i woke up this morning it told me that the sd card had been unmounted, which was weird because i did not touch it at all. so i had to reinsert the sd card and to play safe i tried running apps, however on first "click" of angry birds after reinserting the sd card i had to FC htc sense cause something happened. after it restarted the name changed(along with some other apps) to different names, with angry bird being renamed as com.rovio.ka3d.App. However some apps like CurrentWidget and paper toss still remained.
Can anyone help me solve this? Like how do i restore the apps etc.
I'm using the default sd card that comes with the phone
Probably your SD card is starting to break down. Have had the same symptoms and in the end my SD card broke down.

Media scanner is stuck on scanning

I've tried a reboot and removing the battery. All the applications on the SD card have loaded. Under "battery usage" it has media scanner running, but the force close button is greyed out. It's draining the battery pretty bad - 25% in under an hour.
Anyway to stop it or is this a hardware issue that needs a replacement?
I could try a restore but I don't think this is ROM related. Running Caulkins E4GT 3.0.

Try pulling the sdcard, reboot your phone, let it complete media scan. Shutdown the phone insert you're sdcard, startup your phone and see what happens.
If that doesn't work but into recovery and under advanced try fixing permissions.
Good luck!
I had the same problem in the past. It never stopped running and burned through the battery. The fix was to find the app in settings and clear the data. I believe it was the media storage app.

So it boots up and the media scanner stops without the SD card. I guess the next step is to get a new SD card?

I'd try bashing up the data on it, formatting it and then try inserting it again to see how it does. If it still gives you issues then yeah if say it's probably time for a new card. :-(
Yeah, I did that last month, back-up, wipe, reformat and it worked ok until just recently. I did put in an extra 4 gb SD I had laying around - scanner stopped after a reboot - so yes it is the card.
I was using a 16 GB class 2 - which I feel is a bit slow with the 8MB camera on the touch. Real slow to (like 5 seconds) before I can take another photo.
Any suggestions for brands and class for the Touch? Kingston and San Disk are the biggest names - would a class 4 be ok? or 6? 10 would be overkill for sure.
Thanks.

I can see this as a reply See bold word.
"So I tried using a 50lb sledge, now the card doesn't work at all! Time for a new card!"

Mico SD card issue

So last 4 days my phone was randomly rebooting on its own about 15-25 times a day but no battery loss during reboots I tried formatting my phone and installing different ROMs and even going back to complete stock. Nothing helped then i thought about the one thing I hadn't done take out the SD card and what do you know the random reboots have stopped. So since in knew it was isolated to the card I formatted the card thinking it would solve the problem but once I put the SD card back in my phone it began to reboot once again. So does this mean that my micro SD card is done for ?

I had the very same issue. But my phone didn't reboot it just restarted (hiccup), without the boot. I took the card out and reboot normally. I entered sd card, it restarted. I too, formatted the card. If you Google this issue, they're many fixes. I saw a YouTube video where he put the battery in and out, making connections and he said that worked for him. Another fix was letting it boot with wifi off. Mine continued until someone mentioned cleaning the battery terminals. I cleaned both my phone and battery terminals with a qtip, and now boot up normally -no more restarts.

Make a log cat and ask a dev to look through it?

Alright I have rebooted with WiFi off. I always have it on (home ) after cleaning the connectors with a q-tip. And doing that putting the battery in and out. So far (only been about 20 mins ) its running good. I'll update if anything else happens

It still reboots. I'm going to take it into the sprint store today.

[Q] How to know if SD card is the cause of random reboots?

Well it has been asked many times in this phone's section why it reboots. Somewhere I've read that it might be the SD card. I got Kingmax 16gb class 6 Micro SD hc card, and I've noticed after I install some ICS or the "official" 4.1.2 jelly bean it works fine at the beggining. After I put the music and pictures on SD card which take about 4gb space it continues to do well for first few hours (once even a whole day) and then it suddenly restarts. After that first restart the phone starts restarting more frequently like 3-4 times a day, and it annoys me. Is it maybe the SD card problem? And is there any way to check it?

remove the sd card and use the phone without it, if it still restarting on its own . The rom you're using is the problem

Thing is I often need the phone, and it has low memory on its own, that is why I didn't use that method

Well I did remove, but I didn't use it for more than 2 hours like that, not a whole day.
Try another memory card with different class
And play song on third party apps like google play music or poweramp etc..
Try memory card on different phone & check memory card is damaged or not
Dump the memory card on water (do it your self i am not resposible for any damage) dry with clean soft cloth
If not working this method
Reset your mobile
Flash your mobile or goto service center

Message: SD card, tap here to transfer media files

Just out SD card in for the first time. Can't seem to turn this message off without unmounting the SD card. Does it go away?

OK. Delete this thread. I just needed to swipe it away!

I'm not sure if that permanently removes it, I think it came back after I restarted device, until I tapped it once. Not certain.

seems like it goes away when I clear it, and doesn't come back till next reboot.
My phone isn't here so bear with me... Did you folks long press the notification and see if you could block it? It is a standard android feature but in some system notifications it is not allowed.
Mine went away permanently after swiping it away. I've rebooted plenty of times and does not come back on.

I get a message that states:
SD Card
tap here to transfer media files
When I swipe it away it will come back later. I've already done a factory reset on the phone. I currently have a Samsung SD 64gb card that I had to get because the Sandisk was failing. I've read where some tried formatting the card but that did not work. This just started happening within the last month or so. I don't remember if I got serviced or not in the time frame but do know this is a pain in the you know what. Anyone run into this on the note 4?
