Best alternative battery - Xperia Play Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'm trying to find a decent alternative battery hopefully one with a bigger mah but the same size as stock. Don't like the idea of increasing the phone's bulk.
Anyone had any good expierences or suggestions?
Thanks

Battery or charger...

So I've given up and decided that Samsung screwed us on the battery for this phone. So I'm looking for anyone who can point me in the right direction as to where I can get a more potent batt or one of those pebble charger things like the mophie fire the iPhone.
Thanks All

I get pretty good battery life, have you tried flashing either kingklick or jac's oc/uv kernels? Both kernels gave me really good battery life

Battery help

If a Chinese extended battery swells a little in the middle but works fine should I be considered about the battery burning up
Sent from my PC36100 using xda premium
If a battery is swelling, you should be very concerned, and stop using it immediately. It could explode at any time and the acid inside could seriously burn you or others.
K thanks

Even if it doesn't explode, it could crack and cook your phone. Dispose asap!

The best one would probably be a stock one made by htc.
I used a generic branded 3500mAh battery bought on Amazon.com from a seller called Quickshippers. It works out wonderful and is only a fraction of the cost of the expensive Seidio ones.
The only reason I went back to stock is because I'm getting fantastic battery life with evodeck. And I'm usually just plugged in and charging while at work. I missed the sheer thinness of the stock battery.
How long does a extended battery take to fully charge
Sent from my PC36100 using xda premium
3500 BATTERY takes about 6 to 8 hours to charge. But if u dont use an SBC kernel, it will never fully charge.
I am trying this new kernel release from HTC now, and it looks promising, but only on second day. Too early to see if it actually fully charges 3500s

did I help? hit that lil thanks button then
Seidio Slim
The Seidio Slim battery is slightly better according to some reviews I have read, but then again I don't believe I have read enough of them to lead me to believe that is better than just buying the Stock from HTC which is more durable. Just a thought not a proven fact.

Mugen Extended Battery

I just bought it off amazon. But.is it really that good?

Most indeededly. The 3600mAh battery lasts far longer than the standard
I've heard about this battery before. There're kinda some same products from other brands, but painfully what you have to sacrifice is the look and the thickness.
I have the 3600 mha battery and yes it will last a long time but it adds probably around 50% thickness to the phone. Basically take the gamepad portion of the phone and add that to the phone and that's how thick it is

I actually kind of like the thickness of the battery. In my opinion, it makes the phone have better grip while playing games.

I agree. Makes the phone easier to hold while playing for extended time and makes the phone feel more equally balanced

I think I'll buy one mugen battery too. What are you thinking about the phone with it?
Did you played some game? Do you think that the new thickness make the phone hard to hold while playing too?
I've got a SGS2 and a Sensation and had an N1 all with 3600mah Mugen batteries and I couldn't live without them. They are brilliant. At least double the life of the standard ones. However the covers are usually dreadful, the only exception being the SGS2 one, which is creaky but looks OK and doesn't fatten the device up to much. The extra girth as others have pointed out, do help with grip, but the Sensation cover especially was awful and I ended getting 4 replacements sent (which in fairness Mugen supplied for free).

I first of all charged it to 100% and unplugged it at 1100hrs its now 1330 hrs and ive only lost 15% and i have been doing nothing that whole time but activly using the phone. Internet email and loads of emulation. Ive acually been play snesoid for about 98% of the time. I love tthe added thickness because it feels like a gaming device.
One thing i hated about the xperia play was holding the gamepad it felt thin.

Extended batteries are nice, but they add a lot of bulk to your phone. I switched to my stock battery because having a phone that doesn't feel like a heavy brick is so much nicer.

If only it was possible to get that kind of battery life without turning the phone into a humpback whale.
Just to let you know,
the chinese makers of many batteries like to lie about the MaH ratings - it's easy to tell if you weigh them. Also I've seen them set it up so that power depletes slowly for the first 100-60% and then rapidily drop within seconds when the power is running out.
I recommend looking at reviews from phones in general and find a maker that isn't a scammer - one that takes pride in their name and quality. There are plenty now and they're about the same price if you buy direct from china. I thought a few times about selling them but then I relised that people are too dumb and just look at the price so I couldn't be bothered. There are some countries where it's not even possible to buy a decent replacement battery - Latin America and Spain for example.

Exactly. These make it hard to put the phone in your pocket.
IMHO I'd rather carry around a spare Samsung Extended battery with me and just swap it in. Saves a lot of money. I got mine on Amazon for like $10. Plus I can use any case with it.

It really useful? I also need help in this regard!
