I'm guessing that you might have typoed somewhere. I'd say to reload the tab wth one of the update.zip's posted here.

hello brotha, you will be better off to to a hard reset and reinstall the entire ics zip, however if you want a quick fix you can likely log onto market, click in upper right hand corner and re-apply your gmail account for your a100, reboot and it should work. this is a known fix in the past couple of weeks, however, if not, let me know and i will try and help you figure it out. good luck friend!
I found that the easiest way to clean a good install was the longest to do.
- DL the newest ICS release[LEAK][ICS 4.0.3] Acer_AV041_A100_0.009.00_WW_GEN1
- Perform a Hard Reset: Lock Screen (Landscape), Power Off, Power On holding Volume +, release Power only when it vibrates, and flip Lock screen switch (Youtube can help you out but I can't post links yet. Just search Hard Reset A100 and one of the first ones is one posted by Acer themselves.)
- Now reinstall ICS using the normal method.
When I irst installed ICS without a Hard Reset I too had issues but doing the Hard reset and reinstall fixed it all. Now I am running beautifully.

Also every time I restart my Bluetooth is turned on and the screen timeout is set to 10 mins. I'll post a video later

The lock screen disappearing and the power menu going away is a bug that can randomly happen apparently. You probably trigged this bug by going into the lcdtest menu (typing *#0#* or whatever it is). The only way to fix this is a master reset. Just avoid using the lcdtest menu and it shouldn't happen again.

alright will try to do a master reset again and not do the lcd test this time .....

it's all in the software
keep an eye on what you are installing, and how the apps behave in the phone
some apps stay in the background if you don't exit them properly
the screen lock bug is a known issue that gets triggered after you run some test
to get it back just restore everything back to default using factory wipe
did the factory reset .... and didnt do any test .... yet the second day the lock screen disappeared and the third day the restarting happened and still it continues

yea I'm sure its just a software issue hopefully its fixed soon.
but I've tried everything. like the person above from me said, it happened on the second day.
I've tried factory resetting the phone and even flashing a stock rom and no go. its gone.
im not having the restart issue though
hope everything will be fixed in ice cream sandwich .... the lock screen in that is a facial recognition ... so hope it will be a huge improvement ... cant wait for that .... just read somewhere that samsung might get ice cream sandwich to s2 users as early as December
Will samsung be releasing a patch before ICS to address the pattern draw lockscreen issue? This is the only problem preventing me from leaving the sensation and jumping onboard the SGS2. I carry a lot of sensitive material, so that would be a huge security breach.
Ive only had this issue when the phone boots on. There are unlock icons but i see my homescreen and the phone is locked. Rooted to jugs 2.6 and still the same thing.

This was a big deal with the Samsung Behold 2. I am surprised samsung repeated this software defect with such a high end phone. I wonder if there will be a patch for this before the ICS update. IMO this is worse than the vertical lines!
Problem Solved
i actually figured out a way to restore my lock screen back.
Note: This involves messing with the efs folder. So do this at you own risk
also, your phone must be rooted in order to do this.
Tools Needed:
1. Hex Editor
2. Root Explorer
Steps to restore:'
1. Using root explorer locate the /efs/imei/ folder. In that folder there should be a file called keystr. In my case the file was missing which is why the lock screen was missing and was causing my problems.
2. using root explorer create a new file called keystr
3. also in root explorer open the file keystr in text editor and type ON
4. now go into hex editor and locate the /efs/imei/keystr file.
5. using hex editor the first two values in green should be 4f and 4e. all others should be 00.
6. make sure you save the file.
7. reboot.
Sorry to bring up and old thread but I just wanted to have it here incase anyone has the same problem in the future. I had the same problem as well after running LCD Test. To fix it I followed the solution on this thread

Press and hold the volume up and down buttons at the same time as the power button and the phone will boot in to a bootloader and you can then use the volume buttons to select recovery mode, press the power button to confirm and this will basically reset the phone.
Please thank if this helps.
Rik.
You most likely installed an app or widget not yet compatible with ICS.

Try to get into the settings first before doing a factory. If you are quick enough you should get there via the notification bar shortcut.
Go into apps - switch to "all" - search for the launcher and delete data. That should reset your launcher.
you might be able to clear your launcher data, might be more work then its worth though

Probably can't do anything with the launcher dead.
Factory reset seems to be the only option... although there was a problem with encryption staying on across factory resets (at least the password). If that's the problem, it could result in it failing every time.
I forget the solution the Guy found in that thread. Hopefully it doesn't come down to anything intense.
G2x - 2.3.7 CM7
Transformer - 3.2 Revolver OC/UV
Maybe try to push an alternative launcher to the phone from the market website. Install and use the alternative launcher to trouble shoot and clear data on the stock launcher.

Very sorry if I missed a fix for this I've looked everywhere and played around for 3 days trying to fix the issue myself... anyways every JB rom I've downloaded and installed for Verizon's gnex gives the same result if my battery goes completely dead I can not boot past the Google screen I can do a pull and load up clockmod but that does nothing wiped everything reinstalled roms on the clean wipe still hangs on Google only way I can fix it is to unroot flash stock and try again I did just say to heck with it I'll just not let my battery drop below 5% and all should be well... well today seemed a little laggy so I though a reboot would help had around 75% battery and it happened so though maybe my phones just special loaded ics back on it rooted and have been trying to make it repeat nothing anyways just wanted to see if this is a issue for JB or if I'm doomed to a life of ICS ?
Thanks for any help and sorry for being long winded
Ahemm...
Vzw gnex? JB? Not sure what you're talking about.. I thought JB is only available on GSM. Isn't vzw an Lte model?
Edit: oh it seems there is a port.

I had the same issue. What I did was wipe using super wipe (on the android HD threads by mike) and then installed the rom again. Now, you need to realize that it is actually NOT getting stuck on the Google logo, you just need to give it time. Everytime I reboot I have to let it sit for a little bit for it to get passed that screen. Try out the Trinity JB kernel, I use it and its pretty good.

+1 worked like a charm
I bought a gnex 2 days ago and have some weird issue. Occassionally, when unlocking the phone, the phone stops responding for 30-45 seconds, reboots itself and is sending me a bugreport. The report can be found in the link below. Also, there is a screenshot saved every time thta happens, however the screenshot is only the lock screen.
After the reboot the phone becomes a bit slow when switching between applications, after I manually reboot once more it works flawlessly again.
The android version is the stock 4.1.1 JellyBean. The phone is rooted.
Note: I had the same issue with my Nexus S before, but I thought its because its a lot slower.

Have you done a factory reset?
I would say one of your apps is causing this.
That is my idea aswell (since I imported my apps via Ti backup from my nexus s - only the user apps, without data), the issue is that I really dont have the time to test 1by1and actully all I apps that I have installed are apps I use aswell, so I figured someone here might figure out what exactly causes this from the crash log i supplied.

well, i'm not sure but:
i see a bunch of errors after
Code:
------ ducati trace1 (/d/remoteproc/omap-rproc.1/trace1: 2012-09-28 00:30:19) ------
searched a bit around, found this: http://omappedia.org/wiki/Category:RPMsg
Maybe you could try flashing ICS? binaries are probably different, and although I'm not sure it would solve anything, but it's worth a try.
edit: does your device get hot rapidly?

Update: another weird thing (it might br the cause of the problem), if i happen to press all 3 hard keys (vol up + down+power) while the phone is turned on i get the same thing as described above.
Could anyone try to reproduce this?

Found the cause of the problem: its the su binary from Superuser 3.2 RC.
The solution is to swap to either SuperSU or Superuser 3.1.3.
The problem does occur oy when all 3 hard keys are pressed, however it will not crash if a other binary is present (instead of the 3.2 one) in case of the other versions the bug still occjrs (bugreport appears) and the su log shows a lot of su rewuests by "shell", anyway no syst reset or slow response happens.

Ive searched everywhere and can't seem to find anyone with a solution. Ive found a post with the same problem but no solution.
So yesterday my s3 started having problems waking up. Meaning when I lock it usually you bring up the lock screen by pressing the power button or home button. Problem is when I press either one, screen doesnt come on. The buttons do. If I tap the screen I can hear the ripple effect but the screen doesnt light up. I have to keep locking and unlocking till it finally works. Averege of about 6 tries. When I get a call most of the time the screen doesnt come on either. I can still answer since I know where the slider is. When I do turn it on everything works perfect. No flickering or any other issues. When it boots it works perfect...never fails. Just when I lock it.
I tried restoring already, thinking its a software issue...still does it. What piece of hardware could cause this? I'm stumped. Please any advice would be great.
I'm not rooted and running 4.1.1 oem rogers software.

My guess is that you have something draining all your RAM or being hard on your CPU. When you restored, did you factory reset?
You might have to backup your stuff, factory reset. Test it, if it still does it, bring it up with Rogers for a replacement. If it doesn't, reinstall your stuff until you find the culprit.
You could troubleshoot it also by uninstalling the latest apps you installed.

Like I said...Already did a factory reset. Meaning All apps were gone. Started fresh. Even without going through the first setup (setting up google account etc etc) if I lock the phone its hard to wakeup.
Phone is out of warranty so no go there....
I'm just not understanding what is causing it. I know the screen is fine...buttons are fine...everything points at a software problem. I found a post from a while back where someone was having the same problem....no solution was posted though. I even took the phone apart last night thinking a bad connection or something...disconnected the screen and reconnected it...didn't do anything.
If the screen was going bad wouldn't I have issues all the time? Once I wakeup the phone it works perfect...no flickering or anything. When it boots (which I've done like 30 times between today and yesterday) the screen has come on every single time perfectly fine. Everything tells me it's software related...but after doing a factory reset and running original firmware it seems as though it must be a hardware issue...but which component.
I know the phone wakes up when I press the buttons...I can see the menu and back buttons light up...and if I tap the screen the ripple sound is there...just the screen doesn't wake up....till I try a few more times....very frustrating.
Thanks Again for trying...if anyone has any ideas....greatly appreciated. I'll try and find original Rogers firmware and install with odin...see if that works....

Sounds indeed like software issue. I'm not so sure what would cause it on stock rogers though.
Either way, you can find the stock ROM on sammobile.com or on this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1822308
You'll need Odin to flash it. (It doesn't trigger the flash counter)

If you're down for a little test, you could try with a custom ROM.
Use the link I gave you and flash pre-rooted Rogers' ROM. From there, install TWRP (or cwm) using goomanager (from the Play Store) and flash a custom ROM as per their instructions (Don't forget the Gapps).
Before anything though, make a backup
Never know, might save you some time on that S4.

Thanks. I might try it. Dont think I have too much to lose at this point. I always try and keep my phones nice so that when I get a new one I can sell the old one for good money to help offset the cost. This really messes with that system as the phone isn't worth much now...just bought an extended battery too...was planning to keep it for at least another 6 months.

So just a quick update. For no apparent reason the phone started working fine again. It now turns on and off just fine. I'm not going to mess around with it anymore. That's really bizzare. I'll give it a couple days and will report back if it continuous to work fine or if the problem comes back. Thanks for the input.
