Hi folks. First post and I need your help.
I formatted the microSD card that came in with the phone (because of being a noob and clueless) and now the wallpapers and themes from LG are gone. Will doing a hard reset bring them back? The phone is a little wonky since I did that but not to a point that it is unusable.
Thanks.
No. Resetting the phone will not bring them back.

Thanks. I've contacted LG about it, though their reply was prompt, their solution was not the one I need.
This is what I have in my card right now;
-android_secure
-Android
-bluetooth
-calendar
-DCIM
-download
-droidhen
-GOLauncherEX
-Lost.dir
-music
Can someone please verify what I am missing? And maybe I can download them from you.
Thanks.
Edit: nevermind
Thanks for the effort nonetheless.

I haven't formatted my SD card since I got my phone (just picked it up less than a week ago) and I don't see any theme-related files on it.
I am not sure what I actually lost but I cannot find the few wallpaper that came stock. But we can put this to bed now that I know that I still have the stock launcher. I thought I lost that, too.
Thanks for trying to help me out.

LG NITRO-N XDA APP
Yep. I have some awesome wallpapers (some went away when I formatted) downloaded and those HD photos are really good on this phone.
It might be a little late for this reply, but anyway, make sure you download your wallpapers to your internal memory, so when you happen to format your sd-card again for whatever reason, it will remain with your phone, unless of course, if you hard-reset, then you will loose everything. My advise would be to backup your sd-card to your computer so that you don't have to waist time with downloading or even loose personal wallpapers/media.

Out of no where, I suddenly can't add HTC widgets. Any other widget I add to the home screen pops up fine, but, when I press on an HTC one, the phone just freezes up (not completely frozen, bc I can press back to get out of it).
Any help would be appreciated.
Sidenote: The widgets I'd put on the home screen before this problem still function fine.
reboot and try again? that usually fixes the little quirks for me if I know I didn't do anything to cause it

Defintiely did and it's still a no go. This is really strange.

Is it possible to flash ove my rom without wiping everything first?
Go to the app page in settings and clear cache

Ok guys, so I talked to a friend, and he gave me a pretty good idea of what happened.
When I switched to the rooted 2.2 rom form rooted 2.1, I restored my system data with titanium backup. I didn't knwo you're only supposed to use it for user apps,
Basically, that screwed things up in terms of what settings and things like that were even searching for.
Ah, yes, it seems TiB is too powerful for us. I made that mistake at first as well. Flipz has a nice writeup about this issue, too.

hahaha. That link pretty much summed up what happened to me perfectly.
Just like the title says, I'd like to unroot and go back to factory defaults like it was fresh out of the box. I've already messed up quite a few things on it and would just like to start over ~_~
by going to the development forum and reading the stickies and following directions
thank god for smart ass answers. Without jag offs like you we'd all be lost in this world!
No but seriously **** munch, I was hoping for some details in what order I would need to do everything seeing as how there are some warnings on downgrading straight to stock. Thanks for your next-to-useless advice though.

did u do a back up?
sadly i did not, I was messing with overclocking and somehow messed up some permissions and i'm kinda stuck in a loop. Not sure how to enable read/write to my system while in a root explorer and adb is just giving me some weird message about color being incorrect when I try to access system... bleh, could always be worse, at least i'm not bricked yet right? heh

I tried that once with my old G1 and I've had mixed experiences, sometimes I would get MD5 checks that didn't match up and once actually backed up my step fathers G1 while rooting his and ended up accidentally loading it up on mine.
Worth a shot I guess.
you can use someone else's backup, but the unroot threads all tell you the order in which you need to do things, without searching and reading you will never do anything on your own which is ridiculous. there are a few different threads that tell you how to unroot your phone if you just read everything through it will all make sense

He did a little too much tweaking and has it phone hosed up.
Best of luck to him. I am sure he will now do a back up before messing with things. I have opted to do that every time now with Rom Manager. Its nice to be able to revert quickly.
I did the CM 6.1 RC1 but GPS and battery life not so good. Luckily I had a Backup that I was able to restore days later. With the assistance of Titanium I get everything else set up. Email is no big deal as I have exchange and Gmail.
Please see this thread. I had used this to reset my G2 back to stock and then went ahead and rooted it with rage.

Just curious since CM has this function... Being a new Amon-Ra user this seems like something that would make the users life much easier. I previously has all my custom things in a folder on my sd called EvoDev and roms in one folder, zip mods in another, etc.... I now must leave all my stuff on root of sd or move back and forth with a file manager if I want to do anything.
I'm not mad or anything, just curious as to why Amon-Ra doesn't have this ability. Anyone know?
P.S. - Sorry if this is wrong section but I didn't view it as a general Q&A... It was more specific to a function of a program that is used daily in development so I thought this would be the appropriate place to ask.

because he hasn't implemented, 2.0 is on the horizon, there is potential its going to be implemented, however something so simple can easliy be worked around
2.0 can but amon-ra hasn't ported it over to the evo yet.

Are you saying there is a way to make it see past the root? I can't figure it out. Please elaborate..
If you are just saying it is easy to work around as in it is easy to just move my files to root of sd.... Well sure, it isn't hard to do..... but it does take more time.... And say you are doing something complicated requiring flashing a few things one after the other... Well... That becomes a bit of a PITA if you ask me... Especially after using CM for so long....
I like Amon-Ra better actually... Aside from the lack of seeing past root of SD...
As I said, I'm not mad, just wanted to know if maybe a change was in the works or if anyone knew a way to force seeing further.
no way around it, but if you are by a computer, enabling USB mode allows you to mount the SD card and manage it while in recovery.

Yep, I always use usb-ms mode when I do some flashes/updates since it's quick and easy. The file explorer would be a bonus, but amon ra is great the way it is. As long as I have my nandroid backup includes my 4G RSA keys then that's all that matters.

Does it back upo 4G-RSA keys automatically or do I have to do a separate backup for that?
i'm sure it will be implemented in the evo build soon. just be patient.
not to sound anal but unless it involves added 400 extra lines of code why not ad this basic feature from the get go?
I mean my sd was nicegly organized, now i have all they files jammed into the root of my sc card. Making trying to find one to flash out of gillions very hard
This might be just my good luck, or a quirk of the original stock ROM, or maybe my own ignorance; wasn't sure, so I thought I'd inquire.
On the stock EB13, my camcorder couldn't record more than 30 seconds or so of 720p footage before timing out. I poked around and initially folks indicated that I'd need to get a faster miniSD card, something Class 6 or up. So I just put it aside.
After flashing to the Syndicate Frozen 1.1.0 ROM, on a whim I tried the 720p video recording again . . . and it didn't stop or shut down like before. Kept right on going, in fact.
Now, my question: is this a side-effect of EXT4 vs. RFS? Or formating the SD card? Or something in the ROM itself? I ask because I intend to use the phone as my emergency back-up camcorder . . . I'd like to know if I should go ahead and invest in a faster SD card, or if it's going to be fine as-is.
Thanks!
It was very likely fixed by formatting your SD card. I've never had problems with 720p video (well, on the SyndicateROM series, anyway), and I always format my SD card when there's some kind of oddity that's pointing ten fingers at it. Video failure, Gallery or Camera lockups... they're most often systems of an SD card needing a swift kick in the pants.
Glad it's working well for you!

Do you just save your pictures/files to, say, desktop, and then format the SD card? And then flash everything again? I've never done that, so curious as what needs to be done after.

All you have to do is copy what you want off of the card, format it, and copy it back on. No need to reflash anything.

Actually, those banners denote ACS members only, so if you could remove it, that would be great. Our older userbars are static - if you'd like, grab one from here. Thanks for your support!

It is, I'm really pleased with it . . . but all the more frustrated with Samsung as a result, if it makes any sense.
Now I'm torn on my next phone: do I get an HTC, which has a decent track record of support . . . or do I get a Samsung knowing the Development community will fix any problems they seem incapable of addressing?
Is there a way to fix apps disappearing after switching phone off, its becoming annoying.

Did you come to xda thinking we are mind readers? Shall we all take guesses at what apps you're referring to, or if you're rooted, unlocked your bootloader etc etc etc.
And no, I don't know the answer because I haven't got a bleeding clue what apps go missing, etc etc etc. So instead of taking the hump, try writing a post that might help people, to help you. ;-)

Not sure what that has to do with knowing what FW they're using, if they're rooted, bootloader unlocked or not, all of which if provided in an OP instead of a vague post like "is there a way to fix apps disappearing after switching phone off, its becoming annoying.", helps other users to help them.
If you mean after reboot some apps in the external memory disappear ( I have this problem) then you have to give the device a minute after boot without touching anything then you will notice that all your apps is back again but remmember if you went to the apps drawer immediately after the reboot the apps will diappear again and you might need to reboot again in order to see them (in short be patient) I hope this will help you
just force stop the laucher (settings, applications, manage aplications, all, sony ericsson home, force stop), press the home button and your apps should be there.

I would like to revisit this as I have an OG DROID with Chevy SS 5.6 ROM which uses the Xperia Arc Launcher. Sometimes the app drawer will just lose a bunch of my apps or it will take 5 pages of apps and spread it across 20 pages, some pages only having one app on it. I can manually resort it to alphabetical and the apps will fall in line, but some will go missing. Also, the home screen will lose my widgets however, I cannot put them back because the launcher thinks they are still there even though the space appears blank and open. It does not matter if the apps are stored locally or on the SDCARD. Any help is appreciated.
