Like the title implies I picked up a telstra(sp) nexus, I was wondering if anyone can point me in the proper direction of what radio I should use. I'm located in the northeast(Vermont to be exact). I'm obviouslly using att, I'm new to the radio swapping as I've always had att branded phones. I did the best I could search wise and didn't find much. I'm using my note since my computers down for now........
Sorry for being a newb!!

Are you noticing bad performance with the current radio?
There's no perfect radio. I'm using XXKK6 on T-Mo with good results. There aren't a whole bunch of radios, you could just flash each one and see which is best for you.

Just try it out. If you're not happy with the performance its very easy to flash a different radio and compare. There's no perfect radio for everyone.

Hi guys! I'm wondering which is the best Radio ROM for my DZ. Currently I have the GPS problem, and Cell Standby is sucking a lot of my battery juice. Any advice? Thanks!

Hey,
this is a question that has been debated over and over, to make it short though: There is no common consensus on the best radio. Usually the golden rule if-it-ain't-broke-don't-fix-it should be applied.
As far as you're issues with gps and battery life go, with the given information it's really not possible to say, whether your phone's radio is actually at fault or if it's something else.
I'm currently using the radio that came with the official gingerbread ota for the desire z (12.56.60.25U_26.10.04.03_M), it's been pretty good to me on all the roms I have tried since then.
Hmm ok.. I was hoping for some advise, maybe recommendations.. But thanks anyway

What do you want? Someone to hold your hand? Not trying to be a prick, but there is no easy answer. Just try flashing a new radio... maybe the latest release to start with. Using the PC10IMG method with the bootloader is very easy and actually pretty safe if you follow instructions. Try some out... if they don't work, you can always flash another one. Radios seem to be kind of random in how they work with peoples' phones.

Your best bet is to read peoples reviews in the radio thread and cross-reference their location/carrier with yours. There are many factorys (G2/DZ, location, carrier, etc.) that come into play so, a radio that I say is great may suck for you.

Hi, I'm confused on what radio I should use with my GSM GN, I'm about to install LS 1.35, however I will also need a new 4.0.4 radio, to get the best signal and battery life, so what radio are you guys running?

As far as 4.0.4 radios go you have two choices: UGLC1 and XXLA2.
I'm on LC1 personally, haven't felt the need to test other BB's since. There are often too many variables to declare a BB as a clear winner.
In case you haven't seen the thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1405345

Since you're located in Denmark, I suggest you use the XXLA2 radio. XX radios are apparently best suited for Europeans, while UG radios (like UGLC1) are best suited for the United States and Canada.

It doesn't matter. This phone is pentaband. Phones being sold on the play store are shipping out to American see with xxla02. I'm American and I prefer xx radios over ug. You just have to try them and see which one is better for you.

UGCL1 i have gotten better signal strength, better data speeds, no signal disconnect and never lost google sync. On XXLA2 I had some issues with speeds and signal. I recommend UGCL1 but test yourself and see a lot of people like the XXLA2 for whatever reason.
p.s. UGCL1 is the newest
Here's a link for the UGCL1 radio in case you can't find it. Kinda buried in a bunch of posts.

EDIT: Every time I try to flash it, it aborts installation. Halp?

Best radio is to use them all starting with the latest one and determine the one best for YOU. One radio good for one person is not the same for you because you two live on different parts of the world + different carriers.
Thanks for this thread, guys. Very informative.
Use LAX2 as that works best. And you get better battery life compared to the previous releases
Got my GN from the play store running on Tmobile US and am wondering what people's experiences are for the best radio version. Right now I am running XXLF1 and have no serious issues but like most people here just wanting to see if I can get improvements. Thanks in advance.

All you can do is try them out and see which one works best for your situation. You might want to install GetRIL from the play store to make sure your RIL matches whatever radio you're currently using.
I'm looking for the best radio. I have the T-mo S3 currently running PAKangs 1.40 rom (4.1.2). Reception in my area isn't that great especially in certain spots. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Your best bet is to try different ones and see which works best for you. Different people have different results depending on the area they are in, in fact some people go so far as to keep different radios on their SD for when they plan to be in another area for a while.

Not sure. But I'd recommend you start with the newest radio and work your way down until you're happy. The new radio released yesterday seems to be giving everyone decent results.

Hi , I'm currently using Lg g2x
and it seems like this phone is a good option for me right now.
i have a few question for the phone.
1. How are the driver and development support for this phone? ( both from samsung and devs)
my g2x is a pain right now because LG did not release enough drivers and we have no fully working ICS/JB and developments are dying....
2. Are there screen burn in problems?? (This was the major reason why I tried to avoid AMOLED phones)
3. what is your general opinion?
Thank you
This phone and the dev support kicks ass. I had no qualms about keeping this through the S3 cycle, and every time I think I want to upgrade, I'm reminded that this phone does everything I want it to do.

Ex-G2X user here. By all means, go for it if you have a bargain! This is a sweet phone, so stable compare to the G2X.

What is it? is it necessary? are there ROMS requiring specific radios? Thanks!

I'm in Canada as well(however with Wind Mobile) and so far the stock koodo or Telus radio suits the best(most reliable, no data drops, etc). You may try different radios from the thread below to see if any of those works better for you with your provider. The stock koodo is there too if you wanna go back to that.
Radios in general affect the mobile signal, data connection and wifi signal. On a side note, the Telus Jellybean release is just around the corner for our device (April), we will see how is the bundled radio performs once it drops.

Flashing a custom rom(unless stated otherwise by the rom developer) won't touch your radio. So in theory your signal and other radio characteristics will remain the same. However based on the feedback in the radio thread some radio performs better for some user depending on their location(most of them are US based Tmobile customer). So it's about trial and error, try them and see if you have better results with different ones (signal, ping, download/upload, voice quality, battery life).
For Wind mobile here in my location (Ottawa) the koodo radio is the champ.
