[Q] AMARULLZ DATA TO SD-EXT and keiran's dualboot - Xperia Play Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey i was just wondering do you think that since everyone including myself that has tried keiran's method to dualboot xperia play we get the 0mb internal storage. However for keiran this works flawlessly. So I wanted someone to let me know if it would be a good idea to use AMARULLZ DATA TO SD-EXT to get the proper reading on internal storage so that i can continue to dualbooting successfully on my play. any help on this???? suggestions?????

[Q] Is it possible to install iNsertCoin HD onto my memory card?

Hello,
I am completely new to rooting and flashing and have come across several questions.
I searched the forum but could not find an apt answer.
I installed the iNsertCoin HD found here.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=861690
As was said on the thread, i created 2 partitions one fat32 and a second ext 3 with 700mb.
After installation, i checked my free phone memory and it was 140mb.
Is there anyway i could install it into my memory card?
I could really use some guidance here.
Previously i was using starburst rom and i think it was installed onto my memory card. Anyhow i had 450mb free memory back then.
Please advice.
I don't know what you're on about? The partition on the SD card acts as the internal memory of the device so although you only see 140MB free this will go down a lot slow than without the EXT3 partition. A ROM can't be run from the SD card
StarBurst uses Data2SD whereas the one you're on now only uses A2SD
Thanks for the quick response.
okay it's clear now.
I was under the impression that the ext3 partition created is to store the ROM.
Thanks again.
No, EXT3 is to store the data, ROM still runs on the device system memory
Hello,
I have come up with another issue.
I flashed the System App Remover Utility for starburst rom found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=916417.
After flashing only i realized, its for starburst.
Nw i have lost the quick office, freidns stream etc.
Is it possible to restore them?
please advice.

App2SD Help - Rooted Already

Hi all,
I've rooted my Xperia Play last week using the SuperOneClick method, and have busybox and everything installed.
I've been trying to use A2SD GUI but that doesn't allow me to move apps to my SD partition (I have 1GB partition for this on my 16GB card) and tells me I don't have the scripts I need. What are my possible options even without A2SD GUI, is there anything else?
I mainly needed root for the ability to move things to the SD, just because I always get that annoying android memory is low message, but I'm stuck :/
Thanks in advance!
bump anyone?
A2sd gui requires DTa2sd to have been flashed beforehand. Try using Link2SD

[Q] Partition SD Card

Hi All
I am having problems partitioning my sd card. My phone is a HTC Wildfire S A510e. The phone is running Cyanogen Mod Version 10-20130103-NIGHTLY-marvel Android version 4.1.2. I have tried using link2sd to create 2nd mount but all I get is unable to mount script I have also tried doing this via recovery but no luck that way and with mini tool I have had no luck. I would be really happy if some one would help me do this as I am fed up with low storage warnings.
Many Thanks
Paul

you can try int2ext+ scripts.its good and better than link2sd.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1716124
but do that with clean install like if you going to install rom again.
or try link2sd.
partition are,
fat32 remaining space
ext3/ext4 1 GB is enough i think
linux swap 512 MB
all partition should be primary

[Q] CyanoMod 007 with A2Ext+: Can't install apps / no free space

Hi, I've installed CyanoMod007 v31 with APPDATA moved to a 2GB ext2-partition on my SD-Card.
Now everything worked fine, except that in the settings, instead of my 2GB memory for apps, it still showed 140MB (though about 350MB are already in use). Still, I had no problems installing apps, so I didn't worry about that too much. But then when I tried to install a large app (150MB), the setup failed after the download completed, and now I can't install or update any app in the play store, because apparently there is not enough free space.
I've already connected the SD card to my notebook to check if it got somehow polluted with temporary data, but the sd-ext partition is fine, 350MB in use of 2GB overall.
So, I'm out of ideas, can someone help me on this?
(Sorry for not posting in the CyanoMod007-thread, but I don't have permission to do so...)
First of all, why ext2? I recommend ext4.
Try doing the partition with 4Ext Recovery.
Also, if it doesn't work I suggest u try Mounts2SD which moves ALL data. (Play Store)

[Q] Wildfire S SD partition/link2sd problems

Firstly I have read through every thread I can find with same problem but cannot solve this.
I have been partitioning a 16gb microsd card to be able to use Link2sd to move apps for more memory
The first partition is around 15gb Fat32 Primary
but it is the second partition I am having problems with ?
1gb Primary ext 2/3/4 and Fat32 I have tried them all and I still get the mount script error. In link2sd the scond partition is not mounted and does not show up at all in settings/storage or about phone/partition info
Android version 4.2.2
Kernel version 2.6.35.15-OWL-predator-v2.0 -gdb5e2e5-dirty
Cyanogen Mod CM10.1 release candidate v2.1 (owl project)
I bought this phone second hand with cyanogen mod already installed and fully rooted
Please help :fingers-crossed:
Here you go,

Greetz,
I have managed to work my way through this thread and maybe I should try another like mount2sd first then Link2sd like Mikeyd125 posted
"For some custom roms and some phones like samsung galaxy ace plus gt-s7500. Partitioning the memory card using either the method above or using system recovery will not work as Link2sd is unable to create the mount script for the 2nd partition created.
An app from google play called Mount2SD is the solution as it has most of the mount scripts needed. However on installing it, it will uninstall link2sd.
once installed Mount2sd, install startup binaries and set the driver to EXT4.
Reboot phone.
Install Link2SD, create mount script using EXT4 and it will say ' success mount script created'
Leave Mount2SD installed as you have further functionality with it and it is required to manage the 2nd partition.
I searched for this solution a long time, so I thought I would share it "
Do you think this is worth trying ?
