FYI, I'm on stock SGN 4.0.2
there is no way I can turn the bluetooth on, it seems like it didn't turn off properly,
This is happening after connecting to the car, mki9000 , but not always, so I could not be able to replicate it yet. The only solution I have found is to restart the phone.
Actually the Bluetooth settings seems to be unresponsive, like waiting for a never coming force close.
Have to say though that sometimes it does not connect automatically to the car, others it seems to be connected but it's not.
I'm starting to figure that it could be the way parrot and the phone disconnect. I guess of course, this is a software mistake, so I hope it has easy solution.
Any guess?
I am having the same issue. Glad to know that you've shortlisted to the fact that it always happen when paired/unpaired with the car. Now looking back when I had this issue, I think that's when it normally happens.
I hope someone figures something out for this or I might have to try another ROM.
I'm running Galaxy Nexus on Fido network in Canada (GSM) with 4.0.1 Stock.
Thanks for starting this thread.

ok, this is it!
if you never turn on Airplane Mode (after you reboot of course) it will work flawlessly,
I have heard it could be a radio problem, interfering with Airplane Mode, and its correct, no issues after a few days,
i have also heard, the 4.0.5 OTA will have a new radio.
Thanks

Hi all,
I have a 2011 335xi w/ iDrive that I paired my Sprint/HTC Evo 4G to (running Android 2.2 w/ latest patches). My phone connects fine and transfers contacts and all but randomly during calls will disconnect and the sound goes back to the phone. In order to get it back working, I have to turn off and on my bluetooth a couple times (on the phone) then go back into the telephone screen, try connecting a couple times and eventually it works. It's so frustrating as this can happen like 3 or 4 times during a one hour drive and seems like more of a distraction to me as the driver than a way to avoid distractions (not so hands free when I am switching on/off bt). Any ideas? Thanks.
WE GOT IT!!! YOU OWN A BMW!!! JEEEEEZZZ
(just wanted to do that... have no idea what your issue is... cause I drive a Ford)

Lol, I only mentioned the car model and year because people familiar with BMW would want to know that since the iDrive gets updated all the time. I have a September 2010 build too if anyone wants to know (so fall update is included...guessing the issue isn't on the car's end).
Haha... I know dood. Like I said... just wanted to do that.

yup, all good
Got the same issue here with 2011 328. I've read on some other forums people are having these BT issues with other vehicles and various ROMs. I have not been able to find a solution yet.

I def know I never had wifi on, which seems to be the most common response on that thread. I haven't tried to hard reset yet, no time to reload all my apps and such (although contacts just sync). If you do figure it out, let me know. Things went well after the recent update to the stock rom, but now they are worse than ever...its not even really connecting, and I've tried completely removing and re-pairing the phone, changing the phone name, turning bluetooth audio off and just keeping phone connection, etc, idk what else to do, very frustrating phone.
Did you try to use the phone without ANY of your apps, bone stock? My friend had a similiar problem in an 11' S4 and we finally figured that the problem was with one of his apps, he tried goin stock and it would be fine, but when he restored all his apps using TB it would do the same. The last thing i could think about is that the BT is somehow going in to sleep mode, try having the power plugged in in the car if you haven't done so already.

Hey, I haven't had much time to hard reset my phone and reload things, but that may be my last resort. Do you know by any chance which App was causing the problems for your friend? I tried using the phone plugged in but no luck either.
I pretty much cant get my Bluetooth to turn on, sometimes it turns on and works just fine but the majority of the time the widget and also through Bluetooth settings just says updating and gives the look that it actually is updating but never does. restarting phone doesn't help either. any suggestions? thank you so much!!!
did you install a custom ROM by any chance?
yes, I am running juggernaut 2.0
after running several roms I have noticed that the Bluetooth still doesn't seem to work on certain occasions. I am not sure if its probably just my device but after searching and finding no other post about this issue I think I am going to try and get a replacement. Thank you!
You aren't the only one with BT problems. Check out my post here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=19445290&postcount=5
I've had issues like that as well. It turns on/off fine and connects. Then all of a sudden it doesn't turn on. Have to reboot the phone to get it working again.
Yes, I've had this issue as well.
I'm just sayin!
Hey guys... as it says in the title, I am having issues with my G-nex randomly losing connection/signal but then coming back again. From what I have read, this is a common problem... anyone have any tips? Also wanting to know if I flash a custom ROM if that would possibly fix the problem. Thanks!
Not necessarily the ROM, but the radios. Try that.
There are a few 4.0.4 ROMs for the LTE GNex out now you could try as well if you want to go the ROM route.
Is this happening to you? (See attachment)
If so.. I've been trying multiple radios and multiple roms all day without any progress, this still happens. Would love it if someone has a solution to this... I'd have having to send in my phone again.
The signal issues seem to stop when the phone is awake though... :/ But I'm missing a lot of phone calls since my phone is "off" when people try to call me.

yeah, that's exactly what's happening... it does seem to happen more when the phone is off, but I think it still happens when it is on. it is so weird! I went into the verizon store, one of the reps said that he had just been having this issue today and that he put it into airplane mode and back off again and it seemed to fix the problem... I did it, and it seems to have helped, but that was only about 20 min ago lol. see if it helps you!

Hmm.. interesting. The problem here is that this started on March 24th... :/ But, still trying Airplane mode, even though I'm not optimistic..
I emailed my provider, asking them for info, but a friend of mine has been working beside me for the past few days, on the same network with the same phone, without problem. So I guess it's time to bring it in..
Thanks for the info! I may try to put the latest rom/radio on it and see if that helps... if not i'll un-root it and send it in I guess.
I'm having a similar issue with my GSM model, It started when my phone was updated to 4.0.4. Phone signal suddenly drops and comes back again in less than 10 seconds. Sometimes it happens with 1 minute intervals between signal losses, sometimes 5 or 20 minutes, it's very random. After noticing the issue thanks to "Light Flow" that blinks the notification light in white when there is a signal loss, I installed this app (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.smartandroidapps.missedcall&hl=en) to track it properly. The results are very frightening, I'm about to do a full wipe in hopes that the issue will be gone :|
ps: like you guys, I did notice that it's very most likelly to happen while the screen is off. Actually, it has never happened while the screen was on.
Same here, post 4.0.4 update on my GSM GNex.
Found this explanation....
Hi
For some reason, I'm not getting notifications of text messages when my screen is turned off. Neither the actual audio or the vibrating.
Edit: found out it's only on wifi. 3G works
I tried all kinds of different ROMs but nothing seems to work.
Only when I unlock my phone I get a bunch of stuff .
Thought maybe it had to do with a kernel or ROM or Juice Defender so tried with or without. Etc.
I am coming from a SGS2 haven't had this problem so maybe people know what to do. I am a SGN noob ))
Really need some helps .
Thanks a lot in advance.
This is an unfortunate bug with 4.0.4.
I, personally, don't experience it...but it is pretty widespread.
Screen off=no signal.
Ok.
I had no idea THAT was the bug. Thought it was that the signal was gone completely.
Thank you so much for answering.
Was just about to check for a radio that would fit my region.
Might flash the update then. Thanks.
Is it only related to 4.0.4 ??
I now switched to Foxhound a 4.0.3 ROM and having the same issue . It's driving me rather mad :-(
Same on stock 4.0.2
Try the latest release of 4.0.4 with the IMM76I kernel... if that doesn't do it, then we'll have to consider our options.
... and maybe give the UGLA4 radio a try as well for ****s and giggles assuming you're GSM.
Ok. I found out what's up. Been in the house a lot because of my new phone flashing etc etc.
Just now walked outside and bam got all the notifications.
So now got home and wifi was on.
No notifications when screen was off.....
turned off wifi and bam got all the messages.
So only when I'm on wifi nothing is happening.
Edit: tried the other modem. Ddidn't change anything.
I'm rather clueless what it could be.
Ok this is becoming a little monologue lol...
Anyways read somewhere that in wifi advanced settings you can turn on wifi always even when screen is off. Hoped that sovled the issue but nope....
Read other people have it so we need a some real help.
Odd problem is now happening to my wife's new GNEX. This phone is barely 2 weeks old, HAS NOT BEEN ROOTED, but now all of a sudden when you call her phone, not only can you not hear the person on the other end talking, (I have held each phone to each ear to test it) and it then restarts. I did a backup, then proceeded with a factory restart. After this was done, I tested it again, this time I could hear myself. 2nd test, it did it again, and is now only do this. Any ideas?
This phone will be going back to Best Buy tomorrow, but someone else may be having this problem as well. So what do you guys think might be happening to this phone?
Thanks in advance.

Happened to me twice (random) and some calls went straight to voice mail without ringing. Running yakju 4.1.1 rooted with UGLH1 baseband. Will revert back to default XXLF1 to see if it makes any difference.

There are so many version of baseband available out there. You will need to try one is most suitable to your network. Baseband application can be found at the link below:

Choices are quite limited. Being in Canada and with Wind, it has to be UGLA4 or later for data roaming bug fix...
I'll remain on UGLH1 and testing minfree profile tweak instead. (Now on aggressive setting)

i had a problem like that happen to me too...it started when someone called me and my phone just froze then rebooted itself, from then on everytime i got a call it would connect for a few secs (no audio) then reboot
i factory wiped and cleared everything...only to realize the solution was just to remove the sim card and put it back
try that...sometimes its the simplest solutions that work
Took it into best buy, and they swapped the sim card. Problem solved.
