I got too many damn passwords at work. I would love an app that I can use to put in my passwords, that is itself password protected.
Hopefully something that can backup to dropbox or something like that.
Any ideas?
I know you've see all the 49¢ app posts. I think you'll find it there

Yea, saw one there, but that requires a $20 desktop app as well. No thanks.
Really! $20 that's the catch , but would you want something free protecting your bank and credit passwords

it does not require the desktop app, it works by itself
http://keepass.info/ best I've ever found. Open source, you don't have your passwords stored on anyone else's servers, you can add a 'key file' and on and on. Oh ya IT'S FREE!

Try mSecure.
Mi nuh tek intimidation
Loaded up Pocket, which seems really nice, even has a desktop client I can use. Stores the encrypted file on dropbox and can sync between the two.
I would suggest Keeper ( and its free ).

I pay for Lastpass. $12 per year. I use it on all my desktops and mobile devices. I like the lastpass dolphin browser plugin and it autofills user name and password for me.
At work, IT uses keypass for all of their secret data so I have that on my phone too and and I keep the database synced up with a file syncing program.

I can't live without this app. I love the desktop version. Best of all, it's FREE!
Install this app, save the database file to dropbox and you can access/sync all your passwords on your phone and desktop.
How safe is using an app like this on a rooted device with a custom rom?

Keepass works fine and is free. a desktop version is also avalible..

thanks gonna try
I prefer Iliumsofts eWallet. It is AFAIK the only wallet software which does not sync the whole file, but only the changed entries.
With other Software you change on your PC one card, and on the PPC another one, you will get a conflict during syncing.
Use my 'Blender'? It is not very convenient if you were to view your stuff frequently, but for me, I've flash ROM and stuff so much, the only thing backing up my stuff is Outlook. And I've used it to encrypt my data and save them to Notes. Which I can refer later by doing a decrypt on it Link at my signature.
Whats the best finance app? I need somehitng that keeps track of my per diem. I did see an app called PerDiemFY09 on the Iphone. http://www.appsafari.com/finance/8425/perdiem-fy09/
Something like that would be great. Thanks
I use SPB Finance for normal finance tracking and per diem. It can synch with MS Money and Quicken, although I haven't done that before. It also keep tracks of several (bank) accounts and can work with different currencies.
Yeah, I have that but have not explored it yet. Can it automatically sync with my bank account? Also, can it keep track of all my expenses? I travel 97% of the time & need to keep track of per diem, fuel, meals, hotel bills, etc.
The website of SPB (http://www.spbsoftwarehouse.com/products/finance/) does mention that it supports OFX/QFX file. It hasn't worked for me though yet and this needs to be performed manually so far I know.
I can recommend IneSoft Cash Organizer 2008 Premium.
It has OFX file import for bank synchronizer NEW for the latest version.
I don't use the Bank sync feature but have used the program for years.
only for online banking but that can this tool perfect.
my personal choice is
Subsembly Banking
http://subsembly.com/de/banking.html
perfect secure way to manage your bankaccounts.
Alwase Pocket Quicken.

I'm REALLY interested in this, as I'm a long time Quicken user, but I'm reluctant to splash out £35 without being able to trial it first.
Does it integrate well? Is it easy to use and see?

ok so I was downloading apps and stuff using a windows live ID, but that was just one I created to download some free apps and play around. I want to sign in to the marketplace using my other live ID but even though I added it in settings, I can't seem to change it to where the market signs in with the new Live ID.
How can I either:
1) change the first Live ID name/password so I can log into marketplace with it OR
2) make it log into market from my 2nd Live ID and either delete or just not use the first/default one?
Unfortunately, I think the only way to change it is to do a hard reset.
are you kidding me?
so I have to lose all my apps/data and set-up just to change my damn login?
man I wish there was a freaking backup app like titanium or mybackup or this wouldn't suck so much.

Yes - and if you think about it for a second you'll see that it actually makes a lot of sense.

Apps are tied to your login anyway, if they added a way to change it, ti would wipe all your apps anyway.

lol if that wasn't there. Then Peope would share accounts and apps. Leading to piracy.

No.
Go to gmail on your computer and click the forgot password option, answer the security question and change your password to one you'll remember.

I use keepass droid - there's a Windows version too and you can keep the encrypted database in he cloud so access the same file from multiple machines. Choose a VERY strong password.Mine's is similar to 8UU3DFkvpe~lf (but completely different).
I'm loving Lastpass; desktop client and Android app, although the app needs an overhaul. ~50 passwords that I don't have to remember. $1/month for the premium version. As mentioned above, letters, numbers, special characters, etc... passwords can be generated for you.
Your brain is the safest place. Why anyone would trust thier passwords to a cloud app is beyond me.

I have 93 entries in my safe and my brain just doesn't work like it used to. It is amazing what it can do at times and then it forgets the simplest thing.

No system including your brain is perfect. You must not have multiple applications that require complex passwords you must change on a regular basis and prohibit the reuse of passwords. Complicated by the fact that if you enter the incorrect password "x" times you will be locked out and have to enter the customer service black hole.
there would
UPM universal password manager

Thanx for the answers!
I agree that the brain would be the safest way, but lets get real, I really can't memorize every password and pin, since I'm not a rain man
Will give these few apps a try!
I use my brain and forgotten password option.
I currently have 221 credentials in lastpass. Granted, most don't have anything of significance associated with them. Every site has it's own randomly generated password and I've started using more throwaway emails. It'd be nice if everyone used openid but whatever.
SafeWallet! I've been using it for years and love the flexibility of templates.

Kuffs Password Safe Pro. The best imo. Has upto 256bit encryption should you need it and sync to cloud (dropbox / drive etc). Has a windows version also you you can sync your data across devices. I've been using it for a while now, it did have a 'non internet' version also (Lite) which did the same thing but had no network connection (incase you are paranoid).
Very good average rating also.
