Motherboard isnt damaged cause everything is working properly
here are a couple screen/digitizers i found but they arent all that cheap either (i got mine for $65 shipped):

I wish I could find one for around 75$ that's about all I'm budgeted for, I found this :
http://www.cellphone-repair-shop.co...g-black-sprint-galaxy-s-2-rear-battery-cover/
The have everything even the camera, but the prices everywhere are ridiculous.
bring it to a sprint store and agree to pay the 35 dollar fee and add insurance after wards and they will fix it for you if they have a spare one.
sprint techs are very helpful and usually fix cracked screen if person adds insurance.
i need to find a sprint store that has a technician first cause all the ones i have called say no also if i sign up for insurance can i cancel it the next month??
You probably could cancel it. I know down here a broken screen costs 30$ to fix with the sprint technician
Sent from my iPhone killer.
use ur location and check "repair centers near me"

used that and the places it states in my area for repair locations i called them and they said they dobt do repairs in house it has to go through asurion
I just replaced my screen 30 minutes ago. Bought a housing off Ebay for $80 and replaced it myself. You just need a #00 phillips screwdriver and a plastic prying tool.
I'm up in NorCal, if you were closer I'd do it for you just for the price of parts.

If you know somebody that works for sprint we can add insurance for you them just run the claim for $100, then cancel the insurance. I would recommend insurance tho.

Dont know anyone personally that works at sprint.
I called my Sprint Rep since my account is a Business account i got my phone last oct or nov 2011 and she said the only thing she could do is hook me up with an early upgrade and get the same phone for $120 but that doing this would extend my contract. Dont want to do that first i want to see whats up with Sprints network and phone line up for this year.
Anyone that works at sprint that is in my area hit me up pm or something.

I saw 10 of them when I was looking for my replacement. Here's one for $90 as a buy-it-now. http://goo.gl/OqJZj
They seem to come and go all the time, I would look and see 3-4 and then 3 hours later see 10 or so. 3 hours after that I would see only 2. I missed getting a white housing for $80 (just something to change up my phone).
-Daryel
here's the thing. any kind of super AMOLED screen (epics, epic touches, nexuses) are going to be extremely expensive. im actually a lead technician in a preferred retailer store and know for a fact that corporate stores will not fix shattered screens. plus, we are not allowed to exchange the phone for another due to the amount of physical damage. THE ONLY way we can fix those screens is if you yourself come into the store with the part, or we are able to find parts for cheap. because there is such a shortage of each screen from reputable 3rd party dealers, finding a store to fix it for you isn't going to really work. REALLY should have gotten insurance.
if i did have insurance how much would it have cost to getting this fixed?

i drop my epic and in one conner it got scratch badly if i take it to sprint repair store can they change my scratch body for a price?
Depends on if you have insurance or not
i dont have the insurance from sprint i have a best buy insurance.
What part did you scratch? Screen, back, side?
Even if you don't have insurance I'd just call your local store and ask. I had a friend who didn't have insurance on his evo but dropped it and shattered the screen, they swapped his entire screen out for 35$, I think it was with scavenged parts from a broken one. I have heard of them doing the same for a epic but I cant verify. If you call your local store they should tell you what it would run you
i scratch the lower left bottom, the screen is perfect i have a zagg.
Yea I would either call or just stop into your local sprint and just ask. It can't hurt to ask them, and if its on something that is an easily replaceable part then maybe they will have the part out of a repaired phone they would swap in for you, if its just cosmetic personally I wouldn't worry about it, but that's me.
thanks you all for your help...

I'd advise against the BB idea, as my device has been gone for over 30 days. If you do go that route, let me know how it goes. I'd like to have faith in this program and not sound like a basher because all businesses make mistakes/have problems, thats just part of life.

not the case
I have had a Nextel corporate account from IBM since 2002 and then it turned into Sprint
the 1 thing that really changed is that even though I have and pay for the "service and repair" plan or whatever its called that allows me ot take my phone in and get repaired they wont repair them
it started with the Palm Pre, I cracked the screen on it and they told me I have to claim it on the insurance costing me $100 - I complained and was told that they dont repair and "smart phones" anymore because of the complexity of them
believe me I have worked for IBM since I was 13 years old (long story, but short versions was I got caught messing around with computers I shouldnt have and was offered a job) and I have lots of friends here as well as people at Sprint/Nextel that I can talk to and we made some calls and were told by corporate that the new policy for smart phones is to not repair them other then simple button fixes and things like that, cracked screens arent replaced and broken housings are not changed out - even if its easy to do they dont have the replacement parts to do it
I have also asked repair techs at the stores and they dont even have replacement parts for certain phones - while they have complete replacement screens for phones like the Sanyo Incognito and replacement flips for the Blackberry 9670 - and everything from Motorola
they arent repairing these anymore so IMO you should just claim it and get a new one - if the old one dont have a broken screen, its a great media player
So here is my issue. About 3 months ago i cracked my screen on the epic. I imediatly thought i would have to pay 100 dollars and use the insurance i pay for. So i decided i would live with it. About a month ago on XDA i saw that someone got there screen replaced and it could cost me either 35 dollars or nothing. I called sprint that day and found out they were right. Yesterday i went to the sprint store and asked them to repair it only to find out it will cost me $100 dollars because they changed there policy.
Is there anyway i can get sprint to honor what they said over the phone?-The guy at the normal sprint repair said i would have to go to a corporate repair store and MAYBE they would... I called sprint(not the coprorate store) and they said that it would be insurance fraud for them to do anything.
While i was at the first sprint repair store the guy said if i could find my own lcd that he could swap em out for me free of charge. So as plan b i would like to know where the cheapest lcd i can find is? Also where people would sell a bricked epic for parts...
thanks in advance
Its prob too late, but Sprint wanted to charge me $120 to replace the trackball on my BlackBerry.
I went in to another location and I talked to a guy, prob about 20. I could have done it myself for $20, but I had just started getting around after back surgery and a knee scope and didn't feel like F'n with it. He said that's what it will cost if you don't have insurance. I didn't. He said, "you must have insurance ?"."let me check..... oh that's funny they didn't take out your $7 for insurance this month", "do you have the $7 dollars today, because we can have your phone fixed & back to you in 20min, for only $15". Pretty damn cool.
You might be able to get insurance if you haven't paid your next months payment. Then tell them you had called a month earlier and asked for ins to be put on your acct and to get quotes for or change your acct. If you're anything like my wife(unless you're a guy and don't have a vagina), call and ***** them out for not fixing your acct for you and how you had to pay $100. Then keep asking for a supervisor or get someone who will fix it for you to shut you up and keep you as a customer. Don't forget to ***** about the extra $10 for 4g that you can't get or is just ****ty when you do. It might work.
Damn that was a novel. No more replies anymore after I've taken my pain pills. Let me shut up and melt back into the couch w/my hand in my pants, Al Bundy style" ahhhh....

insurance
the worst part is i already do i have insurance. I have had it since i got the phone and htey still want me to pay 100 dollars
Tell them you lost it, pay the $100 for a whole different phone then sell the broken one for parts and recoup some of your money.
thought about that
I thought i abought that but then i realized how much can i make from a bad esn epic with a cracked screen?
Well, bad esn epic's are selling for ~$300 so I wouldn't consider ~$100 ridiculous considering a new screen can be purchased for $90

holy f*** where?
Also the 100 by itself isn't ridiculous. What is ridiculous is sprint clearly told me that it would be no more then 35 dollars and now they say 100... i don't like false advertisers.
Take a look at eBay and search bad esn epic, its still good for metro pcs and rapes anything they have while being cheaper by around $50, also I meant you could sell it for $100 without being even a tad bit ridiculous
thanks for the advice.

I had a cracked screen and paid $100 for a refurb a couple days ago. What happened is they stopped replacing the screens prolly way to much money.
Epic 4g
If you can find a store that has a smart technician that harvests parts from other epics, u may be in luck. i myself being a tech, harvest as many epic screens as possible and when cases like yours come in, i can be ready to either say "with insurance its free" or "without insurance its $35" (which by the way is the new Sprint ASC policy...). OORRR you can be like every other customer and just pay the crazy $100 insurance fee (as long as you have TEP )
If you have insurance, use it. File a lost/stolen phone claim, get a new replacement phone, sell bad esn phone to a happy boost mobile customer for $200. Happy you, sprint, and boost mobile customer.
I just bought a new screen for $104 shipped to replace the screen on my wife's epic since hers had a bad back button right out of the box and we are ob boost so no taking the phone back.
And yes bad esn epics are worth a lot because it only takes about 20 minutes to flash one to boost which is still sprint and half the price.

I have tep and an annoying sc4ratch on my screen but its definitely not worth $100 or even $35 to fix sine its only noticeale if I look for it, so would I be able to take it to a sprint store and they'll fix it for free?
Like I said, its not really in need of fixing....but if I can get a whole new screen for free its definitely worth it...lol

Wait, they changed the TEP Policy AGAIN after the October change?
When my screen was broken, they fixed it at the Sprint Repair/Service store. I wasn't charged anything, and instead of replacing my screen, they gave me a brand new refurbished epic with a new 90 day warranty.
to get this strait
Someone would actually be willing to buy a cracked phone with a bad esn off ebay? What should i list it as?

I'd buy it for $100 factoring in that a new LCD is about $100 plus the time I'd take to replace it. I got my perfect condition lightly used Epic with a bad ESN for $240 shipped to my door from the evilbay. My wife's was $300 shipped brand new with a bad esn but the stupid thing had the back button issue that plagues so many Epics. I replaced the LCD and that fixed the problem but still...
Oh well $50/mo on boost makes it worthwhile especially when it starts dropping $5 every 6 months with the shrinkage program.
hmmmm
So should i flash it to boost mobile myself or just put it on ebay?
Depends what you want to do. If you are handy and good with electronics you can replace the screen and then buy a cheap used sanyo incognito on boost so you can flash it.
You can also flash to Cricket or maybe Metro.

So does anyone know if there is a time factor for Asurion claims? My e4gt has had a cracked screen for sometime now and when I started a claim months ago I wasn't able to do it due to sudden financial woes... Anyways I would assume that I should still be able too do so, right? I mean I'm still paying for the insurance .. As of just a few days ago I bricked it... So a busted screen that no longer lights up except for the beautiful blue led seems like they may go together I would hope, lol! Anyone have any info on the replacements? This is my first phone with Sprint and before this I had cricket, you just paid 85 dollars and got your replacement right there...
If you have TEP I'd just take it into a repair center.
Asurions rule ia hat there has to be usage on the device your looking to get replaced within he past 60 daya. so if you swapped to an old phone over two months ago, Asurion wont replace it for the $100 deductible unless you put the phone back on. Try going to a cell phone repair store firat though. 3RD party non corporate stores have leeway if they have the parts. theres also some spots that just repair phones for a fee, regardless of insurance or carrier.

I went to a place called "CPR" Its cell phone repair... the guy told me around 300 w parts and labor.... He told me that parts for these phones are expensive. This was before it was bricked. He said the glass replacement and the digitizer and labor will cost that much... Guy is crazy! I think that's the only place decently close that I know of. He's quoting you mostly labor then because the digitizer assembly is less than $100 online and it's easy as pie to replace.
confused you trying to fix your glass or get a new phone. If you are trying to obtain a new phone then I suggest you go on Sprints website lookup repair centers in your area and take your phone there first. Give them whatever story you like and see what happens. Then and only then if you can not get them to replace your phone you can go through Asurion or try taking it to a Sprint store and play dumb....
Choices:
Sprint Store: $35 or free replacement
Sprint Authorized repair: Refurb phone in a day or two as long as you have insurance
Asurion: $100
The choice is Yours-----

I wont go into details, but honestly first time i've ever completely destroyed a phone.
Short story, fell out of my pocket getting into vehicle.
I've always had insurance and still do, so I took it in to a Sprint store to get it looked at.
Initially the lady that I first went to, saw my phone looked up my account, and said ok its still in warranty, so I'll get you a replacement.
Then some dude came over and told her that she cant do that, and to get it serviced through their equipment protection plan.
Is there anyway this can get fixed without paying the replacement fee/copay?

What exactly got damaged on the phone? If the screen was cracked then due to the policy change about 2 years ago you'll have to go through insurance not sprint. They now consider that physical damage that's not repairable in store. Your out of luck.
I don't remember but is the insurance deductible really 299? In November I chose best buy insurance instead of sprint due to always having issues at sprint. The third party centers were better in my area than the actual retail store but sprint decided to shut down the third party center here. Oh well.

The whole thing is busted, the screen is completely trashed, outside casing is beaten up and effed, missing the screen glass in the corners of the screen, and the back will not snap on in places. I have insurance, Just with bad timing I would need to replace both mine and my girlfriends as she had broken her a few days later. Hence the $299 I was saying $150 per phone for the deductable.

Best thing is to pay for insurance replacement. It's better to get a new one then try to repair. Unless sprint will order a replacement at no charge which will be almost impossible. Good luck

This is why I will NEVER buy my devices from Sprint. I always buy at Radio Shack because you can destroy your phone, walk in the store and walk out with a brand new one and not a refurbished piece of **** that Sprint makes you pay $50 more bucks for.

Sorry to hear about your situation. I don't know of any tips to help.
On a side note, this is why I don't get the insurance. I think it's a total rip off for the most part. People pay around $7 to $10 a month, which works to around $168 to $240 over two years. Not the issue. But then you have play additional $100 to $150 dollars deductible. This works out ok earily in the life cycle of the phone, but towards the end, it's the same cost for a new phone out of contract. And you don't get a choice on the deductible like with car insurance. I think a more reasonable deductible is $50 with the same insurance rate.
Granted, I don't know the numbers of how many broken phone claims the insurance company or Sprint get. It's possible, people, in general, are reckless with them and are having to replace them like underwear. My guess, probably not, and it's just easy money for the most part.

I think by insurance you mean the TEP coverage. If that's the case, then yes, they'd cover physical damage, but you'd have to pay the $150 deductible cost. Others have had luck replacing the entire panel, but I think the cost might be around the same, plus I'd probably mess it up more, so I'd probably go through TEP to get the phone replaced.

I tried that once. The store said no they don't fix screen damage. The store manager said I had to go through insurance and pay the deductible. I just bought a complete front housing for the same price and did it myself.

Just a quick note so that you know: Asurion (the insurance company that TEP is through) does not have the distribution licenses to give out new phones, so they only give out refurbished phones.
I personally haven't had any issues with the refurbished phones I've gotten, but some people don't like having them, so I thought I'd let you know.
