Before I describe my problem, here are few informations about my phone:
• Unlocked bootloader via htcdev
• SAGA PVT SHIP S-ON RL
• HBOOT 2.00.0002
• RADIO 3822.10.08.04
• Stock ROM T-Mobile PL branded Android 2.3.5 (unfortunatelly messed up )
• Revolutionary CWM 4.0.1.4
So, I wanted to flash CM7 and I got this error:
Code:
--Installing: /sdcard/unofficial-CM7-marvel-nightly-02_26_2012.zip
Finding update package...
Opening update package...
Installing package...
assert failed: getprop("ro.product.device") == "marvel" || getprop("ro.build.product") == "marvel" || getprop("ro.product.board") == "marvel"
E:Error in /sdcard/unofficial-CM7-marvel-nightly-02_26_2012.zip
(Status 7)
Installation aborted.
Someone said that I should wipe before installing ROM, so I wiped data/cache and dalvik cache but I still got the same error. I've found out that I can format system partition in "mounts and storage" so I did it without making backup before... Of course after that error appeared again and moreover I can't boot stock ROM now :/ It freezes at boot image and nothing happens.
I've tried to flash unziped EU Stock ROM from PG76IMG.zip file via flashboot (commands flashboot flash system system.img and flashboot flash boot boot.img). Terminal said that everything is ok, but still freezes at boot image. Strangily flashing userdata.img, rcdata.img, ramdisk.img ends with fail. I really don't know what to do... Putting PG76IMG.zip into root of sdcard and turning device into bootloader mode doesn't work, since bootloader can't see it. Updating via RUU doesn't work too, I've got errors every time...
Please, help me. Is there any chance to fix this issue?

Nope, it's Wildfire S. I've got touch buttons under screen not trackball as pure Wildfire.
Saga is suppose to be the Desire S

Are you sure that it is Wildfire S ? It looks like you have desire s not wildfire s which is very similar to desire s
Sent from somewhere with HTC Wildfire S
Agreed, wildfire s is called marvel and old wildfire(mine) is called buzz. If I was you I would go to shipped roms.com and see if you can find saga, then try on your device.

Make sure you downloaded the entire file. Ive seen this happen with people that had the file not completely downloaded.
Use MD5 checksums to make sure its the correct file.
Neh doesn't matter you have a CDMA desire. This is not supported by leedroid.
Look in this thread and find a CDMA rom.
Thanks, I had trouble downloading the entire file but the Torrent route seemed to work. Downloading from another source now & trying again. MD5 checksums, is that in the recovery module? This is all new territory for me so please excuse my ignorance.
Thanks Ghost!! Checking out the thread now. Do you have a suggestion for a stable CDMA option? Not looking for anything exotic, A2SD is the main priority with all stock functions still usable.

Hello,
Finally I can compile the AOSP for HTC Desire (with bravo vendor's files).
The problem is when I try to flash the system through fastboot mode. I get the following error:

writing 'system' ... INFOsignature checking...
FAILED (remote: signature verify fail)

Possibly, because you are S-ON.
Use AlphaRev's program to S-OFF.

Actually I read that there are 2 possible solutions:
- Use AlphaRev's program to S-OFF
- create an update.zip for install the system.img from ClockworkMod recovery (I have the version 2.5.0.7)
Is the second option possible too? or is more complicated?
Hope anybody can help me !
It is possible to install it from CWM, yes.
I think The Developement section has toturials on cooking the .zip file.
now problem when I flashing AOSP
Hello, I have a problem when I try to flash the AOSP compiled for the HTC Desire,
I'm using the recovery ClockworkMod 2.5.0.7
and when I flash the update.zip I get the following error:
E: Can't chown/mod /system/keyspa.sh

E:Failure at line 14:

somebody know what's happening?
Thanks in advance..
Have you tried wiping data and cache?? Don't forget to back up before doing so other wise you'll be romless.. :-(

Hey thanks for your response!
yeah I did that. I think the problem is the update-script. Well I try replacing the update-script by a updater-script from customized roms like Oxygen1.04 or CyanogenMod 6. But when I try to apply the update.zip I get the following error:
can't open /dev/tty0: No such file or directory
So I'm using the ClockworkMod recovery 2.5.0.7, and I don't know if that recovery can work with "updater-script" or just update-script.
Hope anybody can help me
how can I generate the update-binary for my updater-script
I figured that maybe the problem is because I dont have a udpate-binary file next to my updater-script.
someone can told how can I generate this file?
Thanks in advance..
the update-binary file?

Do you just want to flash a rom?
Did you root your desire?
First start clockworkmod recovery 2.5.0.7
select install zip from sdcard,
troggle signature verification off
select choose update from sdcard.
select the rom
( you can flash a recovery image using unrevoked )
Hope this helps
how is the issue..

I have the HTC Desire rooted, with ClockworkMod Recovery 2.5.0.7
Then I started to compile the AOSP (froyo) for my HTC Desire (with vendor's files and propietary files extracted from the phone with Cyanogen Mod 6.1.1 - Android 2.2) and once I had the system.img I tried to flash it over the phone.
The problems started there, I figured that I had the S-ON so I cant use the fastboot mode in order to flash the system.img.
Here I had two ways:
- use the alphaRev 1.8 HBOOT and get the S-OFF
- create an update.zip and flash the rom AOSP with the ClockworkMod Recovery.
So I chose the last option, and I tried to create the update.zip.
First I tried create the update-script and when I flash over the phone I got several problems.
So then I tried with the updater-script but I cant because I got an error:
can't open /dev/tty0: No such file or directory
I figured that I need an update-binary file and put it next to the udpater-script.
The problem that I had is how can I get that update-binary file?
Now one guy told me that file can be obtained when I compile the AOSP, making:
make otapackage..
So I'll try it now.. and hope it works
Did you ever manage to flash a Rom on your phone??

i am a n00b, so bear with me!
i have used XTC CLIP and gained S-OFF, so i see:
MARVEL PVT SHIP S-OFF RL
HBOOT-0.90.000
MICROP-0451
RADIO-7.46.35.08
i then followed this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1195275
and did the PG76IMG.zip + root.zip installs
then i used ROM Manager to install ClockworkMod Recovery and then backed-up my phone image.
-- of note, in the ROM Manager when i was installing CWM (5.0.2.0)- it only listed HTC Buzz (Wildfire), so i chose that as my handset...
was this the wrong thing to do?
i also updated superuser and the SU binary.
so - i tried to install a few different ROMs but none worked, mostly with 'status 7' errors?
how do i know what is wrong?
i checked using Root Checker Basic - it said: "Congratulations! This device has root access!"
the ROMS i am trying are:
Cyanogenmod 7.2.0-RC0-marvel-KANG

can you help one step more by pointing me to the best thread describing how to make 1GB+ for apps? using DATA2SD?
On a rom that supports data2sd, like cm 7.2 or jikantaru xe or w/e...
download partition magic (or use any of theese : Best partitioning software), make 1024mb (don't go over it, i have read about some bugs, its enough anyway) ext4 and rest of sd card make fat32, build it in partition magic, then go in options set aplication moving (tick) and choose location to external... and u have it ....
EDIT, i just found other guy wrote this so, but i think it can be used on roms that dont have data2sd, thats whats that installer for i guess
- Make 1GB memory for apps
1. Download cm7.2 port by alquez
2. Download data2sd installer http://www.mediafire.com/?757066a1516tdkt
3. Factory wipe then install cm7
4. Back up SD card
5. In recovery go to advanced -> partition SD card -> 1024mb
6. Install data2sd
7. Boot into cyanogenmod
8. Restore SD card stuff if anything went wrong
9. Enjoy and click thanks to benjamingwynn for his tutorial.
p.s. Make backup of your data card, since you might loose your data if you are partitioning sd card for first time. So once again, backup it.
first one is by me and second is by banjamingwynn as u see ... use the one u like

You are indeed right.
I can only assume the recovery is wrongly identifying the phone, causing the script to fail.
Now I'm able to install the CM10 but when reboot, the phone got stuck. Cannot reboot. I saw from the installation instruction that we need to do something on 'boot.img' but I don't know how to do that.

You indicate here that you do not know how to flash boot.img
This is why you are getting the boot loop.
1. In the CM10 installation zip, "cm-10-20120820-a7-endeavoru.zip" there will be a file called 'boot.img'
2. Extract this file and place it in your fastboot directory. You have fastboot already don't you?.

4. Select fastboot
5. Type these commands "fastboot flash boot boot.img" followed by "fastboot erase cache"

No. You do not have to be S-OFF to Flash ROMS.
I would suggest you to do the following and see if it works.
1. Try flashing any of the following recoveries and then try flashing a new ROM.
a. ClockworkMod Recovery 5.0.2.8
b. TeamWin Recovery Project 2.7.1.0
c. ClockworkMod Recovery 6.0.5.3
d. CWM Advanced Edition PhilZ Touch
2. Backup sdcard data. Format the sdcard and try again.
Generally "status 0 error" occurred during the flash with wrong ROM/kernel or device. So check you device model number again. And make sure you are using right recovery for your device.
