Hi all,
Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated. New to all of this but I read through the overwhelming info on here before getting started. Successfully rooted via unrevoked, no problems there. SD card was correctly partitioned for A2SD. Trying to install LeeDrOid_2.3d_A2SD via ClockworkMod Recovery v2.5.0.9 & I am getting the following error message.
assert failed: getprop("ro.build/product.device") =="
ll getprop("ro.product.board") == "bravo"
E:Error in /sdcard/LeeDrOid_2.3d_A2SD.zip
(status 7)
Installation aborted.
Not sure what info you need but here is what's listed on Recovery screen:
BRAVO DVT2 SHIP S-OFF
HBOOT-0.98.0000
TOUCH PANEL-SYNT0101
RADIO-2.05.10.08.11
Thanks in advance!

Make sure you downloaded the entire file. Ive seen this happen with people that had the file not completely downloaded.
Use MD5 checksums to make sure its the correct file.
Neh doesn't matter you have a CDMA desire. This is not supported by leedroid.
Look in this thread and find a CDMA rom.
Thanks, I had trouble downloading the entire file but the Torrent route seemed to work. Downloading from another source now & trying again. MD5 checksums, is that in the recovery module? This is all new territory for me so please excuse my ignorance.
Thanks Ghost!! Checking out the thread now. Do you have a suggestion for a stable CDMA option? Not looking for anything exotic, A2SD is the main priority with all stock functions still usable.

I'm not really sure where i'm supposed to post this question. but since it's a question about ROMs i'm assuming that this is the right area (hopefully i don't get booted). I asked this in another forum but i didn't get any responses so i thought i'd try again. anyway,
I have
BRAVOC DVT2 SHIP S-OFF (CDMA)
HBOOT-0.98.0000
MICROP-051e
TOUCH PANEL-SYNT0101
RADIO-2.05.10.08.11
CLOCKWORKMOD V2.5.0.9
and when i try to flash AuraxTSense 8.1.3 I get:
assert failed: getprop("ro.product.device") == "bravo" || getprop("ro.build.product") == "bravo" || ("ro.product.board") == "brovo"
E:Error in/sdcard/AuraxTSense_8.1.3_Official_OTA_2.2_FRF91_A2SD+.zip

Any help???
I should also add that my sd ext is 1024mb with a 64mb swap
i've wiped EVERYTHING (delvik cache, user data, battery stats, etc)
any suggestions would be helpful, thanks!
The solution is simple, you can't flash a gsm rom on a cmda device.
check here for cmda roms http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=809328

oh haha i'm dumb, i thought it was a CDMA rom because it was on this list:

Thanks for the redirect!
Hello. I'm new to all this. I've searched several forums for an answer to my issue, but unfortunately I haven't been able to get to a final resolution.
What's wrong?
When I boot into ClockworkMod (2.5.0.7) Recovery, I get the below:
E:Can't find MISC:
E:Can't mount cache:recovery/command
E:Can't find MISC:
E:Can't mount cache:recovery/log
E:Can't find MISC:

When I try to backup the current ROM, I get this:
Backing up boot...
Error while dumping boot image!
E:Can't mount cache:recovery/log
E:Can't find MISC:
Click to collapse
When I try to flash LeeDr0iD 2.3d, I get:
-Writing boot.img
assert failed: write_raw_image("/tmp/boot.img", "boot")
E:Error in /sdcard/LeeDr0iD.zip
(Status 7)

So I thought this might be because the .zip file is corrupted or something, so I went on and downloaded and flashed the latest CyanogenMod (checked the MD5 to make sure), but it gave me the same error.
What I did to my device?
I rooted using the unrevoked method. It was pretty straight forward, just installed the Android USB drivers and ran the reflash_package.exe... At the end I checked the root access by adb shell, then su, and I got the ever-so-famous #. I noticed there was an "update.zip" in the root of the SDcard after rooting the phone, but I didn't run it.
What I gathered from my search
When I was searching I read about SPrecovery, I'm guessing it's another recovery...thingi, other than CMrecovery, but I never found a .zip file for it [maybe someone can point me to it].
I also read something about a file PC36IMG.zip, and that people have fixed this error I'm getting using that file. From what I gathered, I think that file was used in the HBOOT downgrading process (from 0.8 to 0.7-something). I downloaded this file but I didn't copy it to my SDcard because I read something I'm not supposed to "apply" it when I enter HBOOT on my phone.
I have yet to use AlphaRex 1.8 to S-OFF the NAND security, but I currently don't have a blank CD to burn the alpharev image. [Question: can I just run the "fastboot flash hboot bravo_alphaspl.img" command on Windows 7, without having to boot into the Linux livecd? I already downloaded and installed the Android SDK tools =/].
My device information
HTC Desire GSM. Froyo (Android 2.2) out of the box, now running software: 2.29.405.5
And this is what appears in HBOOT:
Bravo PVT4 SHIP S-ON
HBOOT-0.93.0001
MICROP-051d

PS: I wouldn't blame you if you hit the back button on your browser after being shocked by this long post...wait, you wouldn't be reading this if you already navigated away from the thread...ah well =/.
As you have a PVT4 Desire you need to use AmonRa instead of CWM, read the PVT4 thread in General
Use amon-ra recovery. I had the same error as you on my pv4 desire.
Sent from my HTC Desire using Tapatalk
Ok, so I'm trying to flash the Amon-Ra recovery but I get the below error:

I'm guessing this is because I do not have S-OFF yet (and I can't get S-OFF right now since I do not have a blank CD to burn the Linux livecd). So, I can just unroot the device, then root it again but point unrevoked to the Amon-Ra recovery instead of the CMrecovery, right?
Question about unrooting: Download the official RUU. Connect the phone to HTC Sync. Run the official RUU. That's it?
EDIT: Do I have to unroot then root again? Or is it possible to just run unrevoked on the already-rooted device but point it to the Amon-Ra recovery instead?
You need to be rooted to S-OFF, just run unrEVOked again and choose a custom recovery
EddyOS, thank you, and you as well drSTRIFE. I finally flashed my first custom ROM.
To whom it may concern, 'what did I do':
I tried running unrevoked but I kept getting the "Error: failed to get root. Is your firmware too new?", so I factory reset the device and gave it another try. Successfully flashed Amon-Ra. I tried flashing CyanogenMod and it was flashed successfully, but the splash screen kept looping. I only wiped the cache before, so now I wiped ALL userdata, and reflashed CyanogenMod. Now it works. Unfortunately though, I did not backup my original ROM, but I have the official RUU, so I guess that's enough if something goes wrong.
Ok, I’m a new Desire user and rooted the phone using unrevoked 3.32, I went into ClorkworkMod 2.5.0.7 and this is the error:
E:Can’t find MISC:
E:Can’t mount CACHE:recovery/command
E:Can’t find MISC:
E:Can’t mount CACHE:recovery/log
E:Can’t find MISC:
I followed the steps, and I don’t know what I did wrong. I can’t flash a new ROM (Oxygen 2.1.2). Here’s the error:
Installing update…
assert failed: write_raw_image("/tmp/boot.img"."boot")
E:error in /sdcard/update-oxygen-2.1.2-signed.zip
(Status 7)

Can anyone guide me?
Flash another recovery in fastboot (if you're s-offed) or with unrevoked if you're s-on
I tried but it does not work with the flash process fails AmonRa finish
root its clockwork ..
Bravo PVT4 SHIP s-on
HBOOT-0.93.0001
MICROP-051d

same problem with my Desire.
I found the recovery-RA-desire-v2.0.1 here work for my desire
flash it using Unrevoked 3.21 here with the custom image option, just point it to the recovery-RA-desire-v2.0.1.img and rerun the root.
then you can flash new rom with no error (status 7)
Unrevoked usually flashes clockworkmod recovery 2.x.x.x. This version 2 does not work with pvt4 versions of the desire:
http://www.roms-au.com/installation/rooting/pvt4-issues/
Flashing amonra recovery will solve your problem. If you really want clockwork mod, you should download clockwork since version 3 oder even 4:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1112658&highlight=recovery
i am a n00b, so bear with me!
i have used XTC CLIP and gained S-OFF, so i see:
MARVEL PVT SHIP S-OFF RL
HBOOT-0.90.000
MICROP-0451
RADIO-7.46.35.08
i then followed this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1195275
and did the PG76IMG.zip + root.zip installs
then i used ROM Manager to install ClockworkMod Recovery and then backed-up my phone image.
-- of note, in the ROM Manager when i was installing CWM (5.0.2.0)- it only listed HTC Buzz (Wildfire), so i chose that as my handset...
was this the wrong thing to do?
i also updated superuser and the SU binary.
so - i tried to install a few different ROMs but none worked, mostly with 'status 7' errors?
how do i know what is wrong?
i checked using Root Checker Basic - it said: "Congratulations! This device has root access!"
the ROMS i am trying are:
Cyanogenmod 7.2.0-RC0-marvel-KANG
JikantaruROM_XE_11711
error log:

i have a feeling i am using the wrong recovery program - but would love some feedback on how to flash a ROM to my phone somehow!

can you help one step more by pointing me to the best thread describing how to make 1GB+ for apps? using DATA2SD?
On a rom that supports data2sd, like cm 7.2 or jikantaru xe or w/e...
download partition magic (or use any of theese : Best partitioning software), make 1024mb (don't go over it, i have read about some bugs, its enough anyway) ext4 and rest of sd card make fat32, build it in partition magic, then go in options set aplication moving (tick) and choose location to external... and u have it ....
EDIT, i just found other guy wrote this so, but i think it can be used on roms that dont have data2sd, thats whats that installer for i guess
- Make 1GB memory for apps
1. Download cm7.2 port by alquez
2. Download data2sd installer http://www.mediafire.com/?757066a1516tdkt
3. Factory wipe then install cm7
4. Back up SD card
5. In recovery go to advanced -> partition SD card -> 1024mb
6. Install data2sd
7. Boot into cyanogenmod
8. Restore SD card stuff if anything went wrong
9. Enjoy and click thanks to benjamingwynn for his tutorial.
p.s. Make backup of your data card, since you might loose your data if you are partitioning sd card for first time. So once again, backup it.
first one is by me and second is by banjamingwynn as u see ... use the one u like

You should consider Link2SD as well. In my opinion, the best thread for that on XDA is [TUTORIAL][Link2SD][ROOT] How to prep your SD card for it...Windoze Style. Don't forget to thank d33ps1x if you use it.

Hello everyone,
I some how manage to mess something up and can't figure it out. I had CM10.1 installed on my ATT One X and decided to got ahead and get 11. did my back up and was ready to go. In any case the upgrade failed, I read several post regarding S-Off and such, and decided to proceed trying.
stupidly i did a factory reset while in the bootloader so there went everything. I have adb access and access to recovery, i remember when i used to play with the One X that you always need to get flash the boot.img in order to get your room to work but now i can't get any room to install. I have read several threads but none has gotten me anywhere.
The error i get while trying to install is
