[Q] Question about FTF flashing.... small - Xperia Play Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

It has been a while since I flashed the stock FTF file for 2.3.3 R800x... and I cannot remember if I have to relock my bootloader prior to doing so. Do I need to re-lock it before I reflash the FTF or is it safe to just flash away?

Flash away. You can't relock the bootloader on the testpoint unlock, anyway.

I can relock my bootloader just fine. Done it before. So its okay to flash on unlock bootloader..... good. Thank you.

[Q] How relock bootloader

Hello,
You mayby think, aigen someone who ask for relock bootloader. I have try different tut's, bus it doesn't work.
I can't find an stock kernel and rom. Anyone help please.
Thanx,
Harypjotr
Hey,
Did you have to unlock your bootloader using setools or omnius, or the 'test point' method?
If so, you can't relock the bootloader.
Otherwise, flash the ftf from this thread using flashtools: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1134335
I can relock my bootloader, but I can't get the normal kernal and firmwire from Sony.
When I try to update, I get a sign, you alreddy get the newest version of software....
(Sorry about my terrible English)
I fount my orriginal .tft
Flashed, flashed the relock, and it works

Any way to "un-flash" a kernel?

Would it at all be possible to go back to stock kernel without having to flash an .FTF? It would lose the unlocked bootloader if I were to flash an .FTF, right? CDMA, so it's a pain to unlock it again. (Would I have to pay again? Hrm...)
Edit:
Or is it unlocked forever, regardless of what I do, once it's unlocked?
Once you unlock, it's unlocked until you choose to relock when using flashtool.
You may use flashtool and an SE .ftf firmware to "un-flash" back to stock kernel.
While at the same time keeping the unlock state.
As you will only relock your phone when you press the relock button before you start flashing.
So NO Worries; just flash it. And also, to save time, you can choose to flash only the kernel when using the tool.
If you unlocked your bootloader via a paid testpoint method then it cannot be relocked, regardless of whether you flash an FTF via fashtool.
To my understanding it is possible to extract the just the kenel.sin from an FTF file and flash it via fastboot or flashtool.
I will look it up for you then let you know.
Edit: Stock Kernels can be flashed, with the command: fastboot flash boot kernel.sin
Make sure you place the kernel.sin in the fastboot directory of your AndroidSDK

Your bootloader did relock, the yes is telling you that your bootloader CAN be unlocked, this is normal. As for the nandroid error, it failed because you cannot rewrite the boot image after you have relocked. This is fixable though don't worry, just flash stock firmware using flashtool
How do i know
How do i know is my bootloader is locked or unlocked coz member in here said like this Bootloader unlock allowed - Yes << this means that your Bootloader is Locked
Bootloader Unlocked - Yes << this means that your bootloader is unlocked.
So base on it mean my bootloader is still unlocked, But u said is locked? so can some one tell me how to double cross check my bootloader is locked or unlock

you cant update your phone to pc companion when your phone is unlocked.
Sorry, I don't understand what it is you want to accomplish here. Do you want to just fix your phone and re-lock your bootloader?

Open flashtool and connect your phone in flash mode. On the screen look for "bootloader status:" or somethings similar. If your bootloader is locked it will say ROOTABLE or if your bootloader is unlocked it will say ROOTED.
If your bootloader is unlocked you cannot update from Sony PC direct and if you phone is locked Sony will allow you to update the phone

Actually thats not right. If you relocked the bootloader it will go back to Bootloader unlocked allowed: Yes and not stay at Bootloader Unlocked: Yes
When you try flashing that bootloader relock in flashtool what happens? I have used it many times with my LT26i with no issues. Can you past the log from flashtool when you try to flash it?

Waiting for your reply.
It will void your warranty unlocking bootloader
First you have to check if your bootloader can be unlocked in phone dialler put in (*#*#7378423#*#*) then go through the menus and find root status for bootloader it if says bootloader unlock allowed=yes then you can if it says no then you can't unlock it
If it's yes then you need to backup your TA DRM keys this will help if needing to relock bootloader if phone needs any repairs (brings back your warranty)
