help needed
Hi,
Thanks for the info.next time I'll post in correct section. Can you please tell me how to flash this kernel onto my xperia M and what is unlocked bootloader. How do I know if my phone is bootloader locked or unlocked bootloader.Pls help me as I am new to Xperia phones. If locked bootloader how to unlock and will it void my warranty.
Waiting for your reply.
It will void your warranty unlocking bootloader
First you have to check if your bootloader can be unlocked in phone dialler put in (*#*#7378423#*#*) then go through the menus and find root status for bootloader it if says bootloader unlock allowed=yes then you can if it says no then you can't unlock it
If it's yes then you need to backup your TA DRM keys this will help if needing to relock bootloader if phone needs any repairs (brings back your warranty)

Hi, first of all, may thanks to jerpelea for http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1126358.
I have try to upgrade my arc from 2.3.2 (unlocked bootloader) to 2.3.3 using the phone and I have brick the phone, now is with 2.3.3 running very well.
Now i'am looking for a way to root the phone, and i do not find anyware the way, but in few posts, some people talk about it, I do not know if it would be with locked bootloader.
If this question is on the forum, i don't find it.
Thanks
Flash a rooted .img if you are on unlocked device or flash a generic .181 ftf and root + OTA to get 2.3.3. Got it?
Its all in the forum under Android Dev section. Lookie lookie!

Bad idea mate, with the unlocked bootloader
hi, but if a do a downgrade to rom 2.3.2 (rooted), and update to 2.3.3 using OTA, my phone will brick, and i will need to make a flash using the http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1126358, won't i ?
Yes, so it is advisable not to try the OTA updates AT ALL!
Like datagubben said, just flash an already rooted ROM.
Cheers!

Currently is not possible to re-lock your unlocked phone.
here is the quot from website:
"Please note that there is no turning back when unlocking the boot loader. You will not be able to revert the phone to a locked or original state if you unlock it. Also, if you brick the phone, it is your own responsibility."
See it more at this link:

if ur already having ur 2.3.3, just flashing recovery kernel made by either doomlord or bin4ry to have access to recovery mode, then, you can flash superuser package (aka root) to have ur fone completely rooted.
here's link of bin4ry recovery image (ps: this is just a live boot, so do exactly as what it said)

@smokada,
I'm not sure if an OTA update will work for you even if you relock your bootloader (after flashing 2.3.2) as the DRM files have been wiped but it's possible to update via SEUS, which would make you lose your root.
@silverwind,
You're a bit behind the times mate. We've been able to lock the bootloader for quite some time now i.e. from the end of June. You can follow that thread here.
[The DRM files which were wiped while unlocking the bootloader can't be retrieved by locking the bootloader again.]
EDIT: LOL! I didn't realise that so many people posted before me with the answer.
I have SE Arc lt15i from 2011, and I wont to install FXP138-cm-10-20120916-UNOFFICIAL-anzu on my device. Now I have ICS 4.0.4 (587) with root.
When I start CWM-based Recovery and try to install zip from SD card I get status 7 error. I do some search and it's probably because my boot loader is locked. So I try unlock it following instructions on unlockbootloader.sonymobile.com
I enter #*#7378423#*#* and then I found this: Rooting status: Bootloader unlock allowed: NO
What now? Please people help I wont this rom badly
If you want it badly, you're gonna have to pay and use third-party software to unlock your bootloader. Otherwise you're stuck with stock and stock based ROMs.
I cant help you too much since my bootloader is locked; refer to a bootloader unlocking thread for help.

Your bootloader did relock, the yes is telling you that your bootloader CAN be unlocked, this is normal. As for the nandroid error, it failed because you cannot rewrite the boot image after you have relocked. This is fixable though don't worry, just flash stock firmware using flashtool
How do i know
How do i know is my bootloader is locked or unlocked coz member in here said like this Bootloader unlock allowed - Yes << this means that your Bootloader is Locked
Bootloader Unlocked - Yes << this means that your bootloader is unlocked.
So base on it mean my bootloader is still unlocked, But u said is locked? so can some one tell me how to double cross check my bootloader is locked or unlock

Xyge my phone posisiton is stuck on Sony logo and i'm will flash the official rom using flashtool so it's mean my kernel will be stock one. So should i try to flash again the kernel or try other thing?
you cant update your phone to pc companion when your phone is unlocked.
Sorry, I don't understand what it is you want to accomplish here. Do you want to just fix your phone and re-lock your bootloader?
I just want to relock my bootloader

Open flashtool and connect your phone in flash mode. On the screen look for "bootloader status:" or somethings similar. If your bootloader is locked it will say ROOTABLE or if your bootloader is unlocked it will say ROOTED.
If your bootloader is unlocked you cannot update from Sony PC direct and if you phone is locked Sony will allow you to update the phone

Actually thats not right. If you relocked the bootloader it will go back to Bootloader unlocked allowed: Yes and not stay at Bootloader Unlocked: Yes
When you try flashing that bootloader relock in flashtool what happens? I have used it many times with my LT26i with no issues. Can you past the log from flashtool when you try to flash it?
Hi,
I just woundring if after unlock bootloader with HTCDEV is it possible to back to factory state with *** LOCKED *** status of bootloader again.
I think that it's not possible, but many times I read here on XDA it coud be done.
I know that it's a tool to lock bootloader from CWM - but if we LOCKED bootloader from CWM after that we can't reflash bootloader to oryginal HTC ( becuse it's LOCKED ).
If we first reflash bootloader to stock ( by fastboot) one we can't use this tool.
So the last way to lock bootloader is to RELOCK it afrer flash ROM --> BOOTLOADER --> USB FASTBOOT, and after that we have factory state phone, but the status of bootloader is RELOCKED.
Am I Right ? There is no another way to LOCK bootloader after unlocking to use OTA ?
I'm just curious.

If your wanting to relock the bootloader I would flash to a stock Rom using fastboot and relock after that.

BLTOOL in recovery --> option 4 SUPERVERSION--> make goldcard --> on goldcard inster lastest ROM.zip from RUU ( temp from windows ) reboot --> and we have stock rom with stock recovery and ***LOCKED*** status.

What locking tool you using? That seems long to get locked status.
I know this is not a phone but I locked a bootloader today on a Nexus 7 by using the same shell I unlocked it with.
I might be getting my wires crossed sorry if I am. Glad you got it sorted though.

by the shell on WFS You can lock bootloader using the same metod like before to unlock of course , but when you do this the bootloader status will be **RELOCKED** not **LOCKED**, so of course RUU and OTA update will works fine but Warranty is lost.
If you lock bootloader with this tool ( superversion option ) phone status will be **LOCKED** and you be able to flash stock ROM and stock bootloader.
I have aT2 Ultra D5306 with an unlockable boot loader. What can I do about it? can anything be done? Firmware flash?
You can unlock bootloader and flash a customized kernel, even you can instal a custom rom too..
Can you point me to guide to unlock my unlockable bootloader? Any information would be helpful.

Tap Service info > Configuration > Rooting Status. If Bootloader unlock allowed says Yes, then you can continue with the next step. If it says No, or if the status is missing, your device cannot be unlocked.
My bootloader is unlockable. Is there something that can be done about this?
Maybe some kind of LokiDoki will be made for it soon.
