Currently I'm running Cyanogen 7 and I previously ran MIUI
As newer and newer version of the ROM came out I started getting more and more FC's and random reboots and I'm honestly getting real tired of it. I'm looking for a striped down light ROM that runs fast on the droid inc. I don't need any special features...light and clean.
Suggestions?

Why not just go with the stock rom, rooted, or one of the stock based roms. Its light, quick, and reliable.

That's what I was honestly thinking of doing but wanted to see if there are any other lighter roms without the bulk apps. I had a site with a link to a bunch of roms before but it's outdated now...are there any more recent lists out there?
EDIT: Just found this site but always welcome more links

Yeah thats up to date. I sugest stock + or touch of blue. Both stock based off of the latest ota, both fast, and both reliable. Or as i said before use stock ota and remove all the bloat you dont want your self, thats the joy of being rooted.

I have never tried it, but its probably a great rom. Made by the same guy who makes the stock+ rom i mentioned.
Now that my phone is fully customized with this ROM and all apps are installed...

You might want to look at Bugless Beast. I've not spent much time with it, but it is very fast compared to CM 7.1

You have to go through the commits. See what's merged and what's experimental. Pons usually doesn't release change logs/features lists. Cause its all cm7.

I've had great luck with GingerDeck but it's a bit out of date since the Dev is working on ICSdeck (which is almost there, but still not stable enough for daily use as I found out). Now I'm running Condemned, which has been updated several times recently (last time being yesterday). I find the ROM very clean and stable.
Mikrunny is okay if you like sense 3.5 slowness and prettiness.
Mctwist sense 2.1/3.0 is nice if you can find a link.
Latest CM nightly for me. I try every rom, always find myself coming back.
here is an almost fully working miui v4 rom, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1509512
yes that is an ICS rom, pretty nefty the camera isnt working completely right and there are a few bugs but works pretty well for a beta =]

I just need the basics, nothing flashy, etc..
Working 4G is preferred since I actually have the service.
i would try azrael x v4 its looks just like stock, but it includes a few tweaks of its own, its pretty fast, small on size and very stable, just remember to do a nandroid backup before flashing, if you have titanium backup i would back up all my apps with it too, for easy restore, then wipe data and caches before you flash new rom, and you are ready to go, almost forgot i also use mybackup to back up my contacts and stuff like that
try Stock Turbo
it's so minimalist that u will have 400MB+ after fresh flashing

I agree, however, the OP did state he wanted the most bare-bones rom.
Just Me, D
via the XDA Premium app
Barebones as in everything works (4g, GPS, etc..) and isnt even running Sense.
Something as close to "stock" Froyo or Gingerbread.

All of them? I didnt realize there was more than 1.
How many come with the "stock" ROM?
Well CM7 uses the new TMobile theme engine so there are a bunch of basic themes for it and some are done more so than others. Like Sculpted uses some different icons for the status bar and not sure how deep the themeing goes when you get deeper into it but I think more so than most. Some just take the GB Green and jazz the colors up and some stand alone themes do more 'drastic' themeing. Ill pop a pic up of the cyan themed CM7 you can see stock icons and status bar colors are changed. There are quite a few though so I would suggest you hit the themes section and start checking em out. Some are in the market and are part of the theme engine, I think there are still some that are stand alones but I may be wrong.

The dev thread "yet another aosp gingerbread ROM" has a link to a ROM that's in between Salvage-Mod and CM7. Still has the tweaks of CM7, but uses the stock launcher instead of ADW. Salvage-Mod is the closest to stock though, I think.
There are tons of themes for the t-mobile theme engine on CM7, so you're going to have a hard time getting screen shots of all of them. Easiest to just flash CM and try them out.

There is the link to the thread I was talking about. I ran it for a few days, it's very stable.
As far as VaelPak, it is an awesome ROM, one of my favs and a must for anyone looking to try something new. However, IMO it's about as far as you can get from a bar bones ROM.
I guess what Im really looking for is the barebones Gingerbread theme. And then, along with that, a pretty stripped down, only the essentials, ROM.
So, I'm bored with my setup, interested in the Ginger-Sense new builds, but wtf???
I have NO clue what's what....
There's MIK'S, EVOZones (based on Mik's, I guess), Deck's... Synergy, but I can only find a thread in the Incredible section..... Too much to read, too much to digest, my brain is melting
Man, I don't want to flash 6 different ROMS. I just want one that makes a good driver....
I'm leaning toward Mik's 1.01, but I guess there's no power widgets in the taskbar pull down, and I need those... (but he has great themes, man!!)
i'm suggesting deck's rom. been running it for about a month now since i switched from cm
Which aspects of ginger sense appeal to you? Might help us be able to narrow it down for you
That's the problem. I don't really KNOW the different aspects and trying to read the treads is an exercise in futility
miks 1.01 is definitly a daily driver, NO DOUBT! yes thier are no power widgets but you do have the toggles, im sure if enough people request it the good people at mikmik will surly take a dive into it for you.
I had the same problem before I started doing my own dev stuff. Someone requested the skyraider rom to be ported, and since I.made that port, its fulfilles my "what I want from my rom" mental battle.
I couldn't decide if I liked the functionality of sense or the customization aspects of aosp more...and skyraider turned out to be the perfect (and as far as I know, only) hybrid that met both of my requests.
Swyped from my SkyRaider Port
Been running synergy for the last two days and I have to say that its the best ginger sense rom I've ever run.......visit infectedrom.com for more info.......
I ended up flashing Mik's and it's great... just 1 big issue; People Apk FC's....

Thats the thing about android; so many different flavors (fragmentation) and you flash them all leaving you bored out your mind. If we had 1 OS like apple/wp7 we wouldn't get bored because there's nothing to flash lol. Try the windows phone 7 launcher (launcher 7) in the market over your current rom it will keep you busy for a little.
just a suggestion, now might be a fantastic time to try cm7, the rom that u fear most (lol)
I ran CM7 for a long time....
I'm really more interested in the Gingersense ROM's. Other than this people.apk problem, Mik's is friggin' sweet!

Hey guys, I am a little new here still, I have done several roots on my E4GT bouncing between ICS roms before performing the manual official update last night. Any suggestions/links/info on any working ones?

If you watched any of QBKings videos you'd see that if your on Stock OTA FF18 that you can go into the SprintID and choose MyID and it puts it back to a Default launcher. Its not going to have the AOSP apps that i think are pretty awesome but it will have the regular launcher that IMHO is better than TW.
Your best bet would be if this theme gets updated to FF18 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1506945
Or you can flash this theme http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1744538 Not everything is themed though.

There are zero ROMs working 100% without bugs -- that includes TW and Stock ROMs. AOKP is stable enough to be a daily driver, in fact it's been my daily driver the last few months. I've been switching between AOKP and CM9 for quite some time now. There are couple nitpick items associated with AOKP and CM9 (just read the OPs for those threads), but for the most part, they are great ROMs.

I think he is referring to the fact that you generally had to flash back to GB to get gps lock then flash aokp; that is if you were having gps lock issues on aokp. Now that source is out, I'm sure that will go away.

Changelog
I'm running the RC2 and i can't find a changelog for the stable version. I realise ofcourse it will be more stable but i'm wondering what actually changed.
Gapps (the latest 4/29 version) does not seem to be properly installing. It will flash in CWM, but apps like Gmail will not actually show up afterwards. I have installed Gapps many times while flashing various ROMs, and have never before had this issue.
Edit: tried 3 times, no dice. Going back to V20C official ICS.

Gmail isn't included in the ICS Gapps package. Get it from the Market, geez.
Instagram
Just installed it, everything seems to be the same. But instagram still borks my phone using it. Not sure why it only works on CM10. Hope there isn't any other apps that kill my phone.
Thank you for the stable release. I honestly like CM9 more than official ICS. But the increased vibration and some apps killing the OS kills it for me.
I'll still donate, I appreciate the effort you developers do. It's almost as if you guys care for the phone more than the actual company.

I stand corrected. I remember Gapps, Youtube, Maps, etc being with the Gapps pack, but now it seems like only the Play store and Google talk are?

You can read the changelog to the Gapps packages here: http://wiki.rootzwiki.com/Google_Apps#Ice_Cream_Sandwich_.28Android_4.0.x.29
Initial impressions after using this ROM for a few hours:
The good: Stability seems to be improved over the CM9 nightlies and RCs. I have not had any random force crashes or reboots so far.
The screen flickering issue from the nightlies and RCs has mostly been resolved. There is still sometimes a bit of blue-ish flickering when transitioning to the home screen, but it happens less often than in earlier releases.
Battery drain so far seems similar to V20C for me. That is to say, quite decent (I can easily get a day and a half on V20C with normal use, I don't expect any different on this ROM from what I have seen so far).
Overall, probably the best CM9 release so far (not unexpected since this is the "stable" release).
The bad: UI smoothness is not as good as the V20C official ICS release. This is especially noticeable when transitioning between homescreens. On V20C, the transition between homescreens feels smooth, whereas there is a clearly noticeable lag on the CM9 stable release.
Guys, use the official dev thread. The mods will kill this one.

You choose a thread that hasn't been posted in since August 2012 to ask a question relating to a device which has no relation whatsoever to the device this particular board covers? :highfive: Kudos on that.
Also, you might try your device-specific forum... they will be more knowledgeable and readily able to answer any question you might have regarding the Galaxy Fit. http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1260 Good luck.

Hey Guys,
With OmniRom in the news recently, just thought i'd try and give them some credit for their work. Remind some of you that might have forgotten about it... since there isn't an official thread for our device, but they are nice enough to provide nightlies for the M7
(Pons had one when he was making the homebuilds though, and it was greatly appreciated http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2574641 ) ,
It's been my go to for quite a while. and it's always my go to when another rom gets buggy.
Stable, great battery life, some awesome features.
Plus it's open, they share everything.
I flash every update of just about every ROM available. But i always have an Omni nandroid backup saved.
List of the innovative features:
New - Google hotwords customization from the home screen (launcher3 needed, haven't tested it yet myself)
OmniSwitch
Open Delta - Download / flash only new updates for nightlies. No need for a 200+mb file everyday.
Flash after update - part of Open Delta - flashes whatever zips you want after update.. keep SU, xposed, etcetera
Sound Packs - change all sounds on your device with one file (usually a theme..IE Zelda Sounds)
Also includes a bunch of other options i'm sure you've come to expect - Contextual Headers and Header Shortcuts, DSP manager, active display, Custom button actions... ect.
There aren't as many options as say, AICP, LiquidSmooth or PAC (all awesome, amazing roms in their own way)
It's vanilla android, but stable and reliable (not saying the others aren't by any means!)
Just my personal opinion and would like to know if others feel the same.
Nightly Changelog. https://changelog.omnirom.org/#/m7vzw/next
Download: http://dl.omnirom.org/m7vzw/ (be patient.. little slow)

I'm liking it a lot too but for some reason ok google voice control isn't working for me. Also the custom hardware button controls don't seem to be working either. You guys noticed this at all?
I Dont mess with the button mapping. Nor do I use the voice control sorry. I would assume there are probably some bugs to work out with the new android version

It was in 4.4.2 as well, hopefully it'll get fixed! Not deal breakers by any means though, the rom is really solid as far as aosp roms go!

It doesn't seem to work saying OK Google and also the keyboard voice recognition but if I open search manually it works... it's odd...

That is weird keyboard voice recognition works fine for me I did flash bucks kernel though so idk if that has something to do with it.
If your going to try and use his kernel it Bork's data so you have to flash it boot the ROM then go back into recovery and dirty flash the rom again.

Hey guys so I finally got cm11 to build for me so I was looking around for a ROM we Dont have for our phone yeah hard to do in terms of what we Dont already have official support for. Anyways I ran across a ROM called eos been running about 24 hours now and really liking it. Its a very basic aosp ROM and @buckmarble 5/27 kernel works perfect with it. That's the kernel he has packaged with his ROM dt2w and s2w work perfectly.

Sounds like they haven't changed over to cms unified kernel setup if my vanilla aosp kernel is working on it.

I was on your ROM but I wanted to be able to change the battery icon without installing xposed framework.

Man, i missed a lot going back the past week!
I have tried the hotwords with Omni, it was hit or miss it seemed.
But, i didn't know if that was due to the launcher apk i installed. It started acting pretty crazy so I uninstalled and pretty much went with the theory like coachcrey... it's new, wait it out.
I've been running the EOS rom though for about a day ( their nightlies are at http://downloads.codefi.re/teameos/nightlies/HTC/m7vzw ...it's not exactly easy to find).
Seems to be pretty solid. Works well.
But, to be honest, nothing to really persuade me to staying with it. But, good enough that i'll keep an eye on it for the future.
