Hey Guys,
With OmniRom in the news recently, just thought i'd try and give them some credit for their work. Remind some of you that might have forgotten about it... since there isn't an official thread for our device, but they are nice enough to provide nightlies for the M7
(Pons had one when he was making the homebuilds though, and it was greatly appreciated http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2574641 ) ,
It's been my go to for quite a while. and it's always my go to when another rom gets buggy.
Stable, great battery life, some awesome features.
Plus it's open, they share everything.
I flash every update of just about every ROM available. But i always have an Omni nandroid backup saved.
List of the innovative features:
New - Google hotwords customization from the home screen (launcher3 needed, haven't tested it yet myself)
OmniSwitch
Open Delta - Download / flash only new updates for nightlies. No need for a 200+mb file everyday.
Flash after update - part of Open Delta - flashes whatever zips you want after update.. keep SU, xposed, etcetera
Sound Packs - change all sounds on your device with one file (usually a theme..IE Zelda Sounds)
Also includes a bunch of other options i'm sure you've come to expect - Contextual Headers and Header Shortcuts, DSP manager, active display, Custom button actions... ect.
There aren't as many options as say, AICP, LiquidSmooth or PAC (all awesome, amazing roms in their own way)
It's vanilla android, but stable and reliable (not saying the others aren't by any means!)
Just my personal opinion and would like to know if others feel the same.
Nightly Changelog. https://changelog.omnirom.org/#/m7vzw/next
Download: http://dl.omnirom.org/m7vzw/ (be patient.. little slow)

Thanks team Omni!

I'm liking it a lot too but for some reason ok google voice control isn't working for me. Also the custom hardware button controls don't seem to be working either. You guys noticed this at all?
I Dont mess with the button mapping. Nor do I use the voice control sorry. I would assume there are probably some bugs to work out with the new android version

It was in 4.4.2 as well, hopefully it'll get fixed! Not deal breakers by any means though, the rom is really solid as far as aosp roms go!

That is weird keyboard voice recognition works fine for me I did flash bucks kernel though so idk if that has something to do with it.
If your going to try and use his kernel it Bork's data so you have to flash it boot the ROM then go back into recovery and dirty flash the rom again.

Hey guys so I finally got cm11 to build for me so I was looking around for a ROM we Dont have for our phone yeah hard to do in terms of what we Dont already have official support for. Anyways I ran across a ROM called eos been running about 24 hours now and really liking it. Its a very basic aosp ROM and @buckmarble 5/27 kernel works perfect with it. That's the kernel he has packaged with his ROM dt2w and s2w work perfectly.

Sounds like they haven't changed over to cms unified kernel setup if my vanilla aosp kernel is working on it.

Man, i missed a lot going back the past week!
I have tried the hotwords with Omni, it was hit or miss it seemed.
But, i didn't know if that was due to the launcher apk i installed. It started acting pretty crazy so I uninstalled and pretty much went with the theory like coachcrey... it's new, wait it out.
I've been running the EOS rom though for about a day ( their nightlies are at http://downloads.codefi.re/teameos/nightlies/HTC/m7vzw ...it's not exactly easy to find).
Seems to be pretty solid. Works well.
But, to be honest, nothing to really persuade me to staying with it. But, good enough that i'll keep an eye on it for the future.

Adreno libs - Flashable zip (only use on virtuous base as andromadus already has these)
Market 491 error, push these files to system/lib and change permissions to rw/r/r .. Thanks to cnote74 for the files
Does this have the adreno graphics libs? My one gripe with MIUI 4.0 ports is that they don't seem very smooth.
Edit: You might also want to post what's working and what's not.
Thanks for the rom! I'll flash this as soon as I get home from class!

Thread is still in process of developement, will update whats working and whats not in a few moments.
As for the adreno graphics, im using the virtuous base rom which is currently outdated compared to most so its probably just hardware accelerated graphics, i just wanted to get a stable build as this is my first rom, hopefully things will improve when i learn more

I have been following the chatter on aj's thread. As I understand it this is essentially the same as his just with the lastest v4 updates?
Are you intending to differentiate from aj, or just release along side him as and when either of you are busy?
I realise that you have put a great deal of effort into this and don't want all your hard work to go out the window when aj releases his.

Thanks im the same i dont like apps i dont need hence youtube, maps, a few un-needed miui apps have been removed, personally it improves ram and storage capacity
There are a few things i need to fix and improve but im still in the learning stages, like i have said this is the first rom i have ever built and the only main things that dont work is the keyboard backlight (ICS bug not mine), camera (by default it should work with bugs present but mine FC's alot so im thinking im missing some drivers some where), and the last bug i have found is data doesnt work (i rarely use it so for me this rom is pretty stable)
Hope you get rid of the bugs.
The policy.jar fix is not from me. Just the decompile
but thanks for credit.
If you need help or something, just text me. Not much time for a rom at the moment but in the future I'd like to create a ICS rom
Sounds like you're not far off.
2 q's:
How are you finding the auto brightness (used due to keylight bug)? I have found it hit and miss with it jumping up and down. Plus I don't really understand the setting in cm9.
Second, I don't actually remember what I was going to say :$ it'll come to me.
Edit: I remember, are you using it with any sort of OCing? I'm not worried about upping the max, but I do like to try different governers.

Thanks, and regarding the auto brightness i never use it, i always have it set fairly low, although as its on by default when i first flash i did notice it does jump up and down, isnt very reliable.

Yes... ;-) Good to see you over here.
There might be a wifi issue with the build bot build. I'm building my own as a bandaid while I fix the aokp source. So if that official build doesn't work I'll have one up soon. Sit tight boys. I'll get you one.
Nice, I can't believe AOKP team restarted adding new devices to the list of the officially supported ones since they said they won't. Good news, thanks for the thread .

Glad to see this over here, since I use your AOKP build on my Fascinate. Just curious, what kernel is this using? Most of the ICS ROMs for the KF are using Hashcodes' 3.x kernel (or a variation of it) as it enables things like hardware acceleration. I know the Fascinate ROM uses the Glitched kernel, so I was curious how that translated over to the KF.

Hashcodes kernel it's the best kernel for the fire right now so we are using that. If we decide to get glitchy we will probably push changes his way and let him do his thing. No point in remaking the wheel.

I think the Build bot build (Official Build has wacky wifi due to an old kernel) The test build I put up has everything working but usb as far as I can tell. It's my wifes kindle so I only get it at night when she goes to sleep to work on it...
I'll be pushing the updated Hashcode kernel to AOKPs gerrit tonight so the Official build bot will put out good builds from here on out.

Thank you. There's a couple of things I noticed might be missing (or maybe different between CM9 and AOKP):
1. I can't find the Hold Back to Kill option anywhere. I know it's on the Fascinate build, so I'm probably just missing it.
2. On the CM9 roms I've used (like the stock one Hash uses with his kernel), there's an option to Hide Status Bar (I think it's typically somewhere under Display). It allows a few apps to actually use full screen (Netflix and Google Play Books are two I can think of). Without the option, the buttons on the status bar basically become dim circles, but are still present. Not really a big deal, but thought I'd mention it.
Thanks again for the great work.

Older screenshots (no battery icon, but the rest is the same)...
It should be noted that the Desire S version is based on Android 4.0.3. All of the 4.0.3 ROMs for our phone are ancient, so I chose to use CM9 (4.0.4) as a base and some fixes from ...Awesome... DianXinOS has been under development for many months, but has only recently come to ICS. As such, there is quite a bit of Chinese. The ROM is still very usable, but improvements will be made in coming versions.
Second, the disclaimer: IF YOUR PHONE BURSTS INTO FLAMES, EVOLVES INTO A SENTIENT NON-ORGANIC LIFEFORM, SPONTANEOUSLY COMMUNICATES WITH THE INTERNATIONAL SPACE STATION OR, GOD FORBID, BRICKS - NO ONE IS RESPONSIBLE BUT YOU. There is an inherent risk with any flash. You break it, you deal with it.
As you may know, this is my very first port to be posted here. So, I want to give shout-outs to all the people who helped me with this.
The development team of DianXin OS.
qtwrk - For permission to port.
elginsk8r - For the base ROM found here. - Initial release
Synthetic.Nightmare - for the base ROM found here on newest release.
sckboy78 - For helping me every step of the way and for his DianXin experience.
...Awesome... - For the camera and other fixes, as well as testing.
gsminhas - For his inspiring dedication. He doesn't give up.
0.0 for the camera flash fix (See below)
INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Download here:
2. Reboot into recovery and wipe, at minimum, SYSTEM, data, cache, dalvik-cache. If you do not perform a full wipe expect no support from me.
3. Reboot and wait 5 minutes to let it settle.
4. Open No-Frills CPU Control and set CPU to, 1024 max (or your preference), 245 min, smartassV2, noop, check "Apply on boot" and hit apply.
I have chosen to use LordMod's Andromadus kernel. Don't like it? Flash another one. Also, DX does not have a CPU controller built in, so I have included No-Frills CPU control as a light and free alternative. It is in data/app for easy uninstallation.
If you experience GPS issues run GPS Status, also included, and you should be good to go.

I do but to be honest outside of aokp/aosp/sense4 I've never really used a different rom so when I got the chance to test it at first I was like hell no this isn't my style rom but after playing with it and setting it up and fixing some bugs its not that bad I like the UI. Something different I guess

At least don't stop the developement of Sense roms... heck, even the vanilla roms... I hate apple... this could be the best rom, but I would never make my phone look as an Iphone...
woo! nice to see my tester now becoming a developer!
Keep it up estallings
i did not dev this rom i ported it i take no credit for it other than adding files to make it compatible with the vzw gnex(toro)
to keep the Phone apk from force closing go to setting> under wireless hit more > mobile network >than change network mode to "LTE/CDMA"
than REBOOT!!

Why is this ROM "taking CyanogenMod to the next level?
CyanogenMod does not want to include many customizations like they did in cm7
But why not? We want to customize our phones!
This ROM adds more options and cherries to CyanogenMod, cherry picked from the CM gerrit, Google gerrit, AOKP gerrit, SGT7, TeamEOS, TeamBAKED, Slim ROM, root - box and ParanoidAndroid
Basically this is one big mixture of all the great ROMs out here!
Stock but still highly customizable the way we like it

oh i have a folder of like 7 roms to port lol given im leaving verizon ima do as many as i can and test them than after that ill recruit people in this community to test them lol given im sure not many would complain lol
This is a pretty cool ROM. Maguro users get all the cool ROMs, not to say we don't but they get a lot more ROMs than we do. One thing I noticed is Hardware Acceleration force closed at the startup screen, and when you try to go into it in the settings it force closes there too. So far though its a nice runner with great features and how they're set up.

Oh, and when an app asks for root permission, which I have automatic allow and no notification in superuser, it puts me in the system settings screen.

you have to follow the install instructions otherwise you get this problem ( i doný know if alpha changed the kernel since i don't know if this phone accepts the same kernel as the maguro)
probably the kernel you flashed overwrites my ramdisk and the ramdisk makes the folder fot the HWA app
i'll try to put the command in a init.d script so this problem won't happen again to people
and about the su problem that's weird i'll try to reproduce that bug and look into it!

See, that's my problem. I read enough to get by and end up missing stuff. Bad habit. So flashing another kernel kills this feature? Does the OP say how to flash one without losing hardware acceleration?
Edit:never mind, I just read it. I'll give it another try in a bit.

Well, it flashed fine. The only thing im noticing is if i hits the recents button and have more than 1 app in there, if i hit the clear button, all but the last app swipes away. I have to hit the clear button a second time to clear it. Otherwise eveythings working now for me.

well that's actually the way it should work
when you open for example the phone app
and hit the recent button
the phone app will appear there too (this is since 4.2)
and when you hit clear it will also kill that app most of the times people don't want to kill the foreground app
so 1 click will kill all the background apps
and a second click will also kill the foreground app

Hmm, OK. Never seen a ROM implement that before. I dunno, whenever I need to push the clear button, I'd rather have all apps discarded at once, but its a good idea for most.

Most roms I've seen function this way. It's a "kill all" that kills all except for the last app. I see the pros & cons to it... I get it.
Alpha_.. sucks to see you go, man. You're killin the hopes & dreams of a lot of people around here.

Paranoid Android 5.0Hello friends, this is my unofficial build of Paranoid Android. I'll put information here when I think of stuff to put here...
About AOSPAParanoid Android is a custom ROM aiming to extend the system, working on enhancing the already existing beauty of Android and following the same design philosophies that were set forward by Google for Android Open Source Project.
Paranoid Android is often considered one of the most cutting edge ROMs. The team at PA more often than not brings everything to the table and more to boast tasteful design and elegant performance.

Happy flashing friends, it took me a good amount of time to get this working, I hope you enjoy it. There's not much in terms of features right now. I assume they're working on that. We are on the legacy builds, so we get everything after the official ones do. Buuuut, we have PARANOID ANDROID NOW YIPPEE!
A few notes:
-I have added my own kernel to this build mainly because in order to get the build to go correctly I had to remove an important part of the source kernel or two (it didn't play nice D:<)
-For the current build (25th) I have added a Bluetooth commit from Cyanogen that is not in the normal build in order to well, make the ROM compile. But also, Bluetooth might have an issue or two because it's my own little changes not an official PA change.
-Updates are planned on a weekly basis. Please be patient, I have a life outside of this that is very demanding.
-I may not be able to fix everything, and everything probably doesn't work. The sources for this build are a day or two old because of all the time I spent fixing everything up. It's smooth sailing from here on out friends
-Of course, enjoy the ROM!!!
So this post is reserved.
But also, we have PA now! We would have had it sooner if I wasn't so darn stupid and used the legacy sources instead of the official sources from the start!
Either way, happy flashing.
Ill be the 1st to test this bad boy...thanks
Thank u
Ill be the second. Will report any bugs...
Can you port the latest PA kitkat rom. That would be awesome!!!
Anybody tested it? Can I install it on Korean F240S?
Nice job!
Sent from my LG-E980 using Tapatalk
After doing some testing the messaging and such could use a little work. Also, screen doesn't turn on with the home button for me. I can't use my swipy keyboard but that's probably the gapp's fault not PA's.
It is also missing tons of features Cyanogenmod/Bliss would have otherwise. I think this is because it's in Alpha and they're trying to bring everything up to Lollipop
Either way, I'm just really happy it finally works. Flasher beware, it's not in the best shape right now. But as the days roll on we'll see a complete ROM come up.
And PA Kitkat? Hmmm, maybe I WOULD like to set that up, but I just got Lollipop rolling, and the Java would have to be downgraded, my sources would, it'd take a while for ONE build, you know? We'll see how I feel about it in the coming days. Of course keep your eye out for other possible ROMs coming up you never know what's around the corner...

It is, but it's very heavily modified. They use some of CMs stuff, and then a lot of it is a very smooth custom job. You know? Hardest ROM to build for me so far hands down. Just build LS and it took me one try... Very easy compared to this beast
